Hi everyone šŸ’•

Currently still have the Mirena coil in which I’m wanting to have taken out in may, have a DD who is 3 and wanting to start TTC from June onwards. Hoping to have a spring/summer baby so I can time it with my toddler going to school.

Has anyone got any story’s with conceiving after the Mirena coil or looking to conceive around may/June 😘

Xx

Soft play will keep you awake its the noisiest place on earth!! We went to the park yesterday mad idea kids came home covered in mud n freezing. Decided to go to the charity shops today and managed to get an outfit for Victorian day so that's something at least.

OnNaturesCourse · 01/03/2020 23:14

Hi all.

Hope you've all had a nice weekend.

Crap weather where I am, and confirmation that Scotland officially has coronavirus - oh happy days. Think I might just hide away until summer... Least then I'll have baby making lol.

Geepipe · 02/03/2020 11:16

Thanks guys hope everythings going ok for everyone. Its bloody freezing here. Im taking all kinds of vitamin supliments to try prevent sickness as we keep getting this nasty cold weather roll on spring. :)

OrangeBird · 02/03/2020 16:15

Talking about vitamins. Any of you taking anything now before ttc later this year? I've been researching a little bit but there is so much out there and I don't know what is good and what isn't. Some stuff seems very overpriced. I'm wondering whether just normal vitamin tablets would do rather than pregnancy ones. Does anyone know? Smile

Teacup34 · 02/03/2020 17:11

Ah bloody Coronavirus!! I've gone through loads of anti bac this week I make the kids have it when they come out of class Blush. I never took any vitimins with my 3 the only thing I took when actively trying was folic acid. All good thanks GeePipe it didn't rain today!! Shock how are things with you?

OnNaturesCourse · 02/03/2020 19:03

Orange - I took folic acid daily once I was TTC, and sometimes pregnacare once I was pregnant... if I remembered.

Geepipe · 02/03/2020 19:50

Im taking folic acid vitamin d and vit c and thats it. When i was pregnant in october thats what the midwife advised. I read you should start it a few month before ttc.

Has anyone started cycle tracking?

My cycle changed after DD, and coming off hormonal birth control completely so I'm tracking to find out what it's doing these days.

Geepipe · 03/03/2020 21:17

OnNaturesCourse how are you tracking? Like specific apps? Ive downloaded clue but i dont know if theres any others

OrangeBird · 04/03/2020 07:05

Thanks everyone with regards to vitamins. I'll just get some folic acid and normal vitamins and don't bother with extra pregnancy ones. Does seem a bit overkill if your diet is okay anyway
Geepipe and onNaturesCourse I've got clue as well but no idea whether it's good

OnNaturesCourse · 04/03/2020 10:38

I have one called "my calendar".

I have used it for 3 years, starting when I was TTC #1. I just input my periods and it gives a rough guide on when you'll ovulate etc. I was ovulation sticks too and I can put that information onto the app as well.

Works really well for me, and is pretty much spot on but that could be because it's got 3 years worth of data for me.

It's highlighted that since DD was born I have a longer luteal phase, and definitely longer but lighter periods.

Teacup34 · 04/03/2020 10:57

My cycle was a perfect 28 days till I had a cp last may since then it sometimes varies it can be 29 days or 27 but Im pretty sure i know when I'm ovulating when we do start trying I will use opk to be sure. This might sound a bit mad but I'm going to start writing down the symptoms I get between ovulation and af as symptom spotting can drive you mad.

bez91 · 04/03/2020 14:02

@OrangeBird forgot all about vitamins! I just took folic acid last time and then used Pregnacre when I fell pregnant, I may as well buy some and start taking before the TTC journey begins!

OnNaturesCourse · 04/03/2020 22:20

What does CP mean @teacup? (sorry!)

Teacup34 · 05/03/2020 11:40

Sorry it means chemical pregnancy when the egg is fertilised but doesn't implant.

OnNaturesCourse · 06/03/2020 09:16

I'm so sorry šŸ’

Teacup34 · 06/03/2020 11:51

That's ok it was just one of those things we hadn't been trying at the time, just made us more careful with condoms until the time is right lol.

FireandFury · 06/03/2020 17:36

Hi everyone!

Can I join please? 1 DD here (17 months). Currently on the pill but going to stop taking next month. Wondering If I’m nuts to ttc when I have a toddler running amok but my DP (has children from a former marriage close in age), tells me it’s not as hard as I imagine. Wondering if he’s got rose tinted glasses on.

Is anyone using a tracking app? We used glow last time.

OrangeBird · 06/03/2020 18:59

@FireandFury welcome. I don't have any children yet. So unfortunately I can't help you with regards to having a toddler and ttc for a second child but I'm sure someone else will put your mind at rest very soonSmile I downloaded clue but onNaturesCourse suggested my calendar which sounds better. I have never heard of glow. How does it work?
What are everyone's plans for the weekend? Grin

Teacup34 · 06/03/2020 21:16

Hi FireandFury, I had my 3rd DD when my 2nd DD was 17 months it was hard work I'm not going to lie lol but I did have a four year old as well so I think that tipped the balance a bit!! They are so close now tho it's lovely. I think the age gap you will have will be perfect though.

stickytoffeepud2412 · 07/03/2020 09:53

Apologies ladies been AWOL so busy at uni and work.
How is everyone? Welcome @FireandFury I have a DD who is 3 and some of my other friends have got a closer age gap like 18month to 2 years and they seem to have found it okay but they have support and a good support network but in all honesty I had very bad PND for nearly 18 months of my DD life and having another was the possibly the worse thing I could think of ha. But there is so many people who have age gaps closer and there good so go for it!

How has everyone been lately? This bloody corona virus is pretty scary stuff!

OnNaturesCourse · 09/03/2020 00:11

Hey Ladies 😊

I only have one DD, she's 2 and bit just now - if I conceive in summer there will be roughly 3.5 years between them. I am sort of aiming to be having next baby when she is going into last year of nursery so she is settled, and I get some one to one time with baby/time to sleep (wishful!)

The coronavirus is scary. I've upped the handwashing with DD and I, but not letting it stop our day to day activities. We were out and about today and I sneezed... I swear I cleared the area šŸ˜‚

Hope you have all had a good weekend!

Teacup34 · 09/03/2020 10:26

Hi everyone, DDs have been ill bad coughs mild temp and cold 😬. DH now has it. So instead of enjoying the lovely weather this wknd we have been stuck in šŸ™. At least I got a load of housework done!! We are running out of handwash and loo roll tho I just hope I can manage to get some all the antibac was gone the other day!!

OnNaturesCourse · 09/03/2020 11:53

I found a little anti bac in wilkos the other day, and some detol laundry cleaner (which I always use but it's like goldust now too!)

Luckily found two half used anti bac gels in a old nappy bag so felt like I'd won the lotto lol.
