First month of ttc

Hey girls... thought I'd make a new post I'm struggling to find new ones 😂 I'm 28 nearly 29 and my other half is also the same age! I'm currently on my period and this is the month we have decided to start trying! I'm so excited but also do not want to get my Hope's up as I know it can be a very long journey to get that BFP! Anyone else trying this month? I'm looking to get ovulation sticks to increase my chances xxx

Just thought I'd check in, as I'm stuck working from home! My period still hasn't started, I had that small amount of bright red blood on Wednesday, but that was when I wiped and not enough to cover even a pantyliner!

My sense of smell is crazy, I normally can't smell anything! And I'm so tiered and off food as it tastes 'wrong' (probably to do with my sense of smell). If I hadn't had that small amount of blood, I'd be wondering if I was pregnant!

@BatmanBaby how long is it now since you had coil out? These are the exact same symptoms I had. I really went of coffee and tea - it tasted sour! Never had pains. And it's only now I'm almost 6 weeks pregnant have my boobs got soooo painful!

@1987Nic did you test again? 😃 how are your symptoms??

@Pink15 I tested again at 14 dpo and today on my expected AF date (16dpo) and they are both much stronger positives. I’m super emotional at the minute and nipples are still popping out randomly ha. I felt very sick on Tuesday but that has passed.. for now. I’ve been waking up super early too but nothing else really. Have you had any symptoms? Did you get booked in for your midwife appointment? Isn’t it so hard keeping the good news from everyone. X

@KrissyMB it's been a full two weeks now, just going to try and stay distracted for the next few weeks, and cross my fingers there's no more bleeding!

@1987Nic I'm finding that a huge struggle at the minute keeping it a secret!

It’s so hard @KrissyMB, have you told anyone? We’ve only told my Mam so far. x

@1987Nic I keep waking up super early too but think it's more anxiety haha. Just sore and lumpy boobs and super hungry! I phoned the midwife but they said I'd get a letter through the post for my 8-11 week appt (didn't realise it could be that late!) and said my scan would be 12-14 (!) weeks.
I've ended up telling a few more people than I'd have liked Cos if this coronavirus!! Sounds gross but every time I go to the toilet when I wipe I'm checking no blood - it's just hard to believe I'm actually pregnant 🙈

@Pink15 Yeh I definitely think anxiety is making me wake up early too but on a positive note I don’t feel tired. 11 weeks is quite late, I rang the doctors to ask about medication I’m already taking so thought I best ask about the midwife too. The receptionist said that they aren’t really having people in the surgery at the minute but told me to ring back when the midwife is in on Monday. I’m dying to tell my best friend but going to wait until we book an early private scan. Have you been self isolating? I had to tell my work so have been off since Tuesday. X

@KrissyMB Oh and my work, totally forgot to write that. I ended up telling them even before my period was due, not exactly when I planned telling them but it’s for our safety. X

@Pink15 I’m with you on the checking for blood, I’m hoping I’ll calm down from tomorrow with AF date being today.

@1987Nic semi self isolating I've told work and they've moved me into a quiet office haha.
When will you get a private scan? We are considering that too to calm my nerves lol as apparently 6-7 week is a good safety point. Also apparently the nhs scans aren't letting partners in! I'd really want my husband to be there

That’s good they are helping a little, totally self isolating apart from walks is definitely giving me too much time on my hands. I think I’ll wait until 8 weeks, I have heard you can get them 6-7 too, think that might need to be an internal scan. I’ve heard about that, it’s so sad but suppose it’s what they need to do at the minute. I keep looking at Prams etc but trying not to get too carried away, please tell me I’m not the only one? X

@1987Nic oh I didn't want an internal one lol I'd rather wait until it's big enough to see outside! Don't want them to knock anything etc as this early stage 😂

Haha Ive not looked at prams yet - for me the tempting thing is too look up names!!

Not something I fancied either lol, I’ll be 8 weeks on Easter Monday so will hopefully be booking for that week. I really can’t find many boys names, good job we’ve both got 8 months to decide ha. X

@1987Nic I've told my partners parents this weekend, explaining that it's so early but just given that we dont know when it'll next be when we will see them we wanted to make sure we saw them face to face. Telling other set of parents this weekend! Very exciting! I'm worried about work though, so not sure what to do!

It’s so exciting to tell them, my bf wants to tell his mam soon but will explain to them that we are still early on in the pregnancy. Did you get in contact with HR?

They said to phone my gp. I phoned my gp and they said current guidance is for those in 1st and 3rd trimester should socially isolate and work from home. But I'm not in a job that I can do that!!!

I’m also in a job that I’m unable to do from home but work sent me straight home to isolate.

Hey @abby25 ! 8dpo here. No symptoms at all! Literally nothing for AF of pregnancy! How are you?

I'm the same I'm due on my period Sunday! I've been really aggy today I think my period is coming also had a few spots 😫 didnt use ovulation sticks this month so I'm not holding my breath xxx

@abby25 So have I!! I’ve been really short with everyone, exactly like I am every month before my period!! Are you going to just wait until your due AF to test?

Checking in for another go 😂 just come off my period so 🤞🏻 it’s this month. With everything going on, it’s a bit scary isn’t it?
