We're all very quiet?

I'm due this weekend and am varying between very hopeful and deciding that I am absolutley not

I'm very aware of every twinge and ache and am trying to decipher them, I've had sore boobs, but earlier than normal does that mean I am? I've been a bit snappy does that mean I'm not? I've had stomach pains - period or implantation?

You don't have to answer these, they are just the way my mind is working at the moment.

Ah well, I will wait and see

I'm a couple of days late but I've been having acupunture to make my periods more like they used to be so thinking it's that. I'll have to test by friday though as I need to know before I have my next session of AP on Friday evening. Waste of a test probably.

But how long do you keep going?

I do have some reservations about being the mum of a reception class child at 50, so I don't wnat to keep this up indefinitley but how do you know when the right time is to stop?

I'm giving it to December and then I'm giving up. I already have 2 October babies so three would be taking the p&ss

lilibet · 25/10/2007 14:11

Mine are May, November and December

Never wanted a summer baby, but if it happens this month I'm on for a 30th July due date - can't get more summer than that!

Just to let you all know that 9dpo (according to cbfm) in the afternoon I did a cbd hpt and got a 'pregnant'. Really hesitate to tell anyone as had 2 mc in last year. I was getting symptoms unbelievably including bigger (.)(.) and slight nausea on waking and thought I was imagining it and so decided to do a test to confirm that it was just wishful thinking...and it wasn't. Now just have to wait and see if it's all okay but really worried though.

ps I was previously known as birthdaycake.

Well done cake! You give us all hope.

I have got mildly scientific, and bought a thermometer and chart. And some grapefruit juice. Will have to start getting jiggy this weekend...

will done OBcake that is brilliant news, I feel inspired I'm 41 too.
Herb I have bought a themometer too, I think DH thinks I am insane when I stick it in my mouth every morning. But writing it down seems a positive thing to do.

hello everyone, this is my first post on mumsnet, after lurking for a while. I will be 46 in less than a month, and am now 18 weeks pregnant, so it can be done! Still a bit gobsmacked really, it was something I'd been hoping for but not really expecting, IFYKWIM.
OBCake congratulations , hope all is going well... I know just how nerve-wracking those early weeks are.
Hope the rest of you get good luck too.

Can I join you all? Am 40 and have a ds who is 4. I m/c two years ago, and haven't really tried since then as was disheartened by it all. Now in a better frame of mind and looking to ttc in the New Year. Last time around it took 18 months, and I don't want to try that long again, but will give it a good year I think.

didoreth · 29/11/2007 17:28

Nancy66, hadn't used contraception for 6 months - no m/c's, though had one unusually late period.

Ni NoNickname I'm 41 and have a ds who is 4 too. Did yous start school this year? Been trying for a year, stated very casually but am getting increasingly scientific, I bought a thermometer and and trying charting. My conclusion so far is my sleep pattern is not very good, so i must go to ben.

hedgepig - ds started at a nursery/kindergarten attached to a school this year - he doesn't start "proper" school until next year. We got all very scientific last time towards the end, and I used to hate that "we've got to do it today or tomorrow" knowledge as it put so much pressure on things.

Someone I know swore by a "fertility spell" that could help you to ceonceive. I'm very sceptical about things like that, but did it anyway (desperation!) and we actually conceived the month after we did the spell!

So I'll reproduce it here for everyone else just in case you fancy trying it:

---

"This spell requires a green candle (an additional blue candle for healing is recommended if there is a medical condition involved), a small square of green cloth and a tie, a small amount of rich soil, and a nut or seed. You'll also need a candleholder and some matches.

This spell should be performed in the bedroom if possible. Using your projective hand (the one you write with) hold the
green candle and charge it with fertile energy. Imagine a healthy pregnancy, a beautiful baby. See it as if it already happened. (If you use the blue candle, repeat the procedure, this time seeing your problems healed). Place the candle(s) on a table and light them, feeling the fire energize the spell. Then take the soil, charging it with the fertility of the earth, of growth. Sprinkle it around the candle(s). Then let the candle(s) burn down on their own (Never leave a candle burning unattended). When the candles burn
down, take the soil and place it in the green cloth. Then take the seed or nut and "plant" it in the soil. Tie up the cloth tightly and carry it with you. Also, place it in your bed when you do YOUR planting! If you get a pretty cloth and tie it with a pretty green ribbon you can hang it in your bedroom and it just looks like one of those pot pourri things."

wow that is an impressive spell sounds much more fun than temp measuring and delving in your pants to check for secretions!

Hi there, I am trying for baby two at the moment and thought I would come on here and say hi.
I am 41 and DP is 31 and we have a three year old son, who is about to start nursery.
We both wanted another child, but I wasn't very keen to have them very close together because I found giving just one child as much time and attention as I wanted was exhausting.
So now I actually feel mentally prepared for another baby and we have been trying since March, but not that seriously. However, DP's brother and partner have just announced they are expecting, so as they are a very competitive family, DP is now very keen. This is quite useful as the whole babydancing thing was putting too much pressure on us both and often DP was feeling ill, or would disappear around ovulation time.
I have been using fertility friend to chart CM and Ovulation plus all the other stuff.
This month I had a faint bfp at 28 days, which got fainter and fainter then nothing. I was about 6 days late when I had a really heavy af, so I think that I may have had a really early miscarriage.
I am taking fish oils, flaxseed oil, red raspberry leaf, evening primrose, 75mg of aspirin and a multi-vit. That takes up most of the morning.

Wow, at the spell that worked!!
Might give that a go if nothing happens in the next couple of months.
Oh I forgot to say I went to the doctors and exaggerated the length of time we had been trying, because I wanted us to have a check up given my time is limited.
So we are waiting for an appointment with a specialist and I have had a 21 day progesterone test, which apparently was fine. Also did the rubella and, is it FSH? test on the third day of a new cycle, but the nurse who sent it to the lab forgot to request the fsh test so all we know is that I am immune to rubella (which I did mention at the time).
Apparently, I don't need a new test, but my practice is requesting the fsh details for next week. Hope it's all OK.
Oh and off the topic, did anyone watch Heroes? I thought that was a strange ending last night.
