ttc after mc July/August 2007 - shiny new thread as the other was full

winemakesmummyclever · 30/08/2007 11:29

Hi,

I hope nobody minds me adding a new thread, but the other wouldn't let me reply.

LadyLush - Sorry to hear about your loss . In answer to your question, I thought I was around 11-12 weeks pg, but the scan said the baby was around 8-9 weeks. When I'd had the ERPC, the gynae reg said the uterus was around 14weeks and the baby was still 8-9 weeks.
I'm sure things do get better with time, but things are still pretty raw and new for me. I'm glad things are getting back to normal for you (and hopefully for others too).

Just back from the hospital - thanks for all your messages. Have opted for the wait and see approach as I really don't fancy an operation at the moment.
My NHS trust doesn't offer the medically managed option due to lack of money, suprise surprise.
I'm booked in for a scan in two weeks' time when the doctors will see if things are moving along or if everything is OK if nature has taken its course. In the meantime it's just a question of waiting. They did tell me I could have the ERPC sooner if I changed my mind.
We actually bumped into some friends at the scan yesterday who had just been told that they'd had a mmc - what are the chances of that happening?! We've just been commiserating and discussing stuff on the phone so that's helped.
Take care xx

sweetkitty · 11/09/2007 13:15

ILTS - not sure what your pains are could it be the mc?

cricri - I did the same thing as you I couldn't have medical management either, was told to wait 2 weeks and if nothing happened come back and have a scan then ERPC. 2 days later I starting mc-ing but I was having bleeding before that so not a surprise. Shame about your friend as well it's not until it happens to you that you realise how common it is and loads of people say oh I had a mc too

iliketosleep · 11/09/2007 13:16

oh cricri so sorry xx i cant believe they cant give you medical management could you not try a different hospital?

iliketosleep · 11/09/2007 13:18

hi sk im not sure as they are kind of next to or around my hip but inside and shooting down if that makes sense, just thought it was really strange...

bloody mumsnet has you symptom spotting everything lol

goingfor3 · 11/09/2007 13:50

cricri - sorry to hear you couldn't have the management you requested.

ILTS - During and after my m/c I had alsorts of aches and pains.

sweetkitty dp and I have been bd'ing every other day since cd10 and even though I'm only on cd17 I'm already fed up of it! I want to ov so we can have a break!

nh101 · 11/09/2007 14:41

sweetkitty · 11/09/2007 15:43

Erm. . .. I've only been missing for a couple of days and you have all chatted so much, that I've already forgotten what I've just read! I must try harder...

Anyway, I've got nothing exciting to tell you.

Hello to everyone whos has just arrived if I've not yet chatted with you.

WMMC - thanks for that, it is very thoughtful of you. I will email you in a couple of days, to give you chance to enjoy your trip to Dublin. I'm sure you'll have a great time!

Hi Wheelybug! Good to see you again!

Hi to everyone else, especially Ladyush, Lcy, Ellie, NH, Littlebit, Gilly and any other lingering oldies.

how do i count CD after a d&c? Was that CD1?

no news for me today apart from mad girl took another p/g test. i think i am little bit potty right now . . .

am taking solace in food - roasted tomato, garlic, basil and red pepper soup - with oatmeal and raisin cookies on the agenda to be baked later . . .

i lost half a stone while i was p/g which i think i may have regained.

goingfor3 · 11/09/2007 18:04

I would count it from your d&c day.

Triggles · 11/09/2007 18:31

cricri- ours didn't offer medical management either. i was told that "gentle exercise" would help move things along, so DH & I spent the morning walking through the town centre and along the seaside, and natural m/c started that evening. Not a clue, of course, if the walking kicked it in or not, but it gave us some quiet time together

sweetkitty - my DH quite enjoys the whole ttc thing as well, and seems to excel in his efforts as soon as he realises we've gotten a smiley face (positive) on the OPKs. It can be quite difficult scheduling time alone when we both work shifts though.

tjuice - oh! that food sounds delicious! I can't even get up the energy to cook dinner at this point. I would count D&C day as cd1.
