ttc after mc July/August 2007 - shiny new thread as the other was full

Hi,

I hope nobody minds me adding a new thread, but the other wouldn't let me reply.

LadyLush - Sorry to hear about your loss . In answer to your question, I thought I was around 11-12 weeks pg, but the scan said the baby was around 8-9 weeks. When I'd had the ERPC, the gynae reg said the uterus was around 14weeks and the baby was still 8-9 weeks.
I'm sure things do get better with time, but things are still pretty raw and new for me. I'm glad things are getting back to normal for you (and hopefully for others too).

Triggles · 11/09/2007 00:52

Flossie - sorry to hear about the erpc. Hope your DH picked up your licorice supplies and that you're feeling better this evening.

ILTS - sounds like you are moving forward. Hope you are doing okay.

Cricri - so sorry to hear of your loss. We had a mmc as well, and it's such a shock when you think things are going well and life hits the brakes, slamming you into a wall. I couldn't understand why my body just held onto the pregnancy and kept going without me knowing it. Thinking of you as you are going over options and making those difficult choices. We waited for natural miscarriage, which started the evening after our second scan. It was uncomfortable and I ended up in A&E with heavy bleeding (sorry, TMI) but I managed to avoid any procedures, which was my main goal. (I've had surgery two autumns in a row - appendix and gallbladder- and I was determined not to make this autumn year 3 in a row!)

Jules - glad to hear your day went well

Lcy - oh, blackberry pie sounds good! There's a place nearby that has "pick your own" berries and such - maybe DH & I will have to pop in there and pick some and try a berry pie. Yumm! We made a pumpkin pie the other day, but I got halfway through when I realised the pie pan was nowhere to be found (I'm still trying to figure out where it went) and had to use a round cake pan. So the sides collapsed initially when I was pre-baking the crust. Heavens, what a lopsided sad looking little pie that was! (although it did taste good!)

I'm a little puzzled as I think I've O'd today. Positive opk yesterday, negative today. And had those little pinching twinges in lower right abdomen that I always get right around O time this evening. Isn't it a bit soon to be O'ing after m/c?

goingfor3 · 11/09/2007 08:00

Morning everyone, hope you are all okay.

Still no ov for me despite the opk+ last week, though I felt my cerix last night and it was low but open and today it has disapered so I hope to ov soon. I'm glad I'm temping otherwise I would have trusted the opk''s and would have stopped bd'ing a while ago and then I would have gone through countless tests when I know now that I will be having a long cycle. Fingers crossed I see the temp rise tommorow or very soon anyway.

sweetkitty · 11/09/2007 09:33

morning everyone sorry didn't get to post much yesterday manic day

cricri - you poor thing I was also on the Due in March thread I had a slight bleed at 8 weeks though nothing of it and had a scan and was told baby was 6 weeks and to come back in a week, then as told baby hadn't grown so was dead I was still deciding what to do whn nature decided for me. TBH looking back I think I would have gone for the ERPC to get it over and done with the mc was pretty rough complicated by having 2 LOs to look after too, I don't think theres a right decision I'm afraid you just have to do whats right for you. This is a brilliant thread for support.

ILTS - I hope your hanging on in there today, loads of towels, painkillers and TLC. Look after yourself and remember it will all soon be over x

Flossie - thats rubbish about the ERPC hope your doing OK today x

Jules - was thinking of you yesterday, take it easy today x

Tjuice - enjoy your spa day sounds lovely

WMMC - have a restful time in Dublin you know your DS will be fine and you will come back all refreshed and desperate to see him

Good luck to all those ov-ing around now may your eggs hatch and be fertilised!

CD5 here the evil old hag is packing her bags hopefully she will be gone for about 18 months at least!

iliketosleep · 11/09/2007 09:48

hi all, im still bleeding but not as bad as last night, with no pain so thats a bonus! xx

Still have a day ahead of me though

Hope everyone else is doing ok xxx

iliketosleep · 11/09/2007 09:57

tmi alert

Does anyone know if very bloody cervical mucus, more like a slight discharge, is anything to do with losing the pregnancy?

its almost like, if you cut your mouth then spit onto a tissue. Its strange

cricri · 11/09/2007 09:59

Hi all,
Thanks so much for your supportive messages. Just off to the hospital now with DH to discuss possible options. Your experiences have helped in our decision but will report back later.
Take care xx

winemakesmummyclever · 11/09/2007 10:04

Jules - am so proud of you taking on all the challenges - I would have chickened out as am a big wuss . Hope you aren't aching too much today and feeling a little bit better about things.

cricri - hope that you & dp are as well as can be expected. It is such a shock isn't it? Take the time to talk to your dp & come to a decision. Personally, I think the ERPC is better if you have dc's/busy job or life as the physical recovery is very quick.

ilts - hope you are bearing up ok. I know you are a very positive, forward-thinking person, but please rest up and let dp pamper you for a little while at least .

Flossie - hope you are ok after the ERPC. try not to overdo it though eh? I had the ERPC 2 weeks ago and the bleeding afterwards was pretty minimal and has stopped now.

Hi to everyone else .

Oh bugger, better go - ds has learned how to take his nappy off & will be parading about in the buff in a minute .

OP posts:
goingfor3 · 11/09/2007 10:12

iliketosleep - thats what some of my m/c was like and the whole of my last period was like that too.

winemakesmummyclever · 11/09/2007 10:16

ilts - that's what is was like for me after the ERPC. Don't know about next period yet tho.

OP posts:
winemakesmummyclever · 11/09/2007 10:19

Doh! Was too slow with replacing the nappy. Ds has just had a huge wee & poo right next to d/stairs loo . Well, at least he's trying, bless him.

OP posts:
iliketosleep · 11/09/2007 10:21

oooh good, stuff might finaly be moving along nicely then

WMMC bless him lol

nh101 · 11/09/2007 10:24

Goingfor3 - what happened after your temp went up last week after you got the OPK+? Has it gone back down again? I had a spike yesterday but this morning it is back down again (CD15). I feel like I am never going to OV!

goingfor3 · 11/09/2007 10:52

It went back dwon to around 36.2, I think I had tested later that morning so maybe that's why it went up at bit. On the first day of days of my period it was around 36.6 so I guess when it reaches that temp I will have ov'd. Hopefully we will both ov soon!

nh101 · 11/09/2007 11:22

My temp started the cycle at 36.65, went down to about 36.52, then spiked yesterday at 38.79 - I was sure I'd Ov'd although I still have some creamy CM so maybe not. It's a roller-coaster isn't it?

nh101 · 11/09/2007 11:22

Sorry - it spiked at 36.78 not 38.78!

goingfor3 · 11/09/2007 11:27

I think I had trouble ov'ing last month too as I had ewcm then nothing for a couple of days nad then it came back again and happened a few times. I am glad I am temping though as I would have made the assuption I ov'd fron the opk's and would miss any opportunity. I think I'm getting obsessive again!!!!

nh101 · 11/09/2007 11:51

I'm really trying not to get obssessive goingfor3 - it is hard isn't it? After I was put on Clomid I thought "Great, I'm on easy street" but now I wonder whether it is going to work at all. After getting PG first month after coming off the pill (MC at 13 weeks) I thought getting PG was a piece of piss.

My best mate has just had a MC, she would have been 12 weeks on Friday - she started bleeding last Monday (yes, eight days ago) and they wouldn't scan her till this morning. She had to be admitted yesterday because of the pain and bleeding but they still wouldn't scan her! Now they have sent her away and told her to come back next week to see if it's all gone. Scandalous.

sweetkitty · 11/09/2007 11:57

cricri - hope you are ok, good luck with whatever you decide is good luck the right term I don't know but you know what I mean.

ILTS - I don't know as I never had the medical management, I had slight bleeding for a day then 3 days where it was very heavy and extremely heavy for about 3 hours at a time over the 3 days, sometimes I just sat on the toilet it wasn't worth getting up off it sorry if TMI. Everyones different though.

WMMC - potty training argh DD1 has finally got there I think it was the worst time ever but I have found out that DD1 probably has a weak bladder and she pees for Britain which didn't help. DD2, I am refusing to potty train, she can take her nappy off herself and do it when she's ready.

G43/nh - I've never temped so I have no ideas sorry. Wouldn't worry about missing an opportunity as long as you are BDing every 2 days you will cover all bases so to speak. With the one I just lost we BD-ed CD12,14 and 16 then DP got man flu and was dying.

right got to go and get some hosuework done!!!

Triggles · 11/09/2007 12:08

I don't know how people can remember to temp every morning. I did it for awhile before while ttc before DS, and I don't remember it being too much of a problem. But now with DS waking me up at odd hours, I just can't get my head around temping each morning. I usually remember it while I'm halfway through changing his nappy or feeding him his breakfast, which of course is too late! Even putting it right next to the bed doesn't remind me, I stagger right by it when I get up in the morning. I swear I would need to tape the thing to my forehead to remember it now.

winemakesmummyclever · 11/09/2007 12:43

Oooh, brain hurting from temping info. It all sounds far too complex for me, especially at that time in the morning.

SK - ds is taking his nappy off himself. I don't think he's doing it because he knows he wants to pee/poo. It's more like the shoe removal obssession he currently has. Maybe he's just a blatant exhibitionist

OP posts:
sweetkitty · 11/09/2007 13:00

WMMC - no I mean when DD2 says "mummy I'm at school now can I take my nappy off?"

iliketosleep · 11/09/2007 13:01

this is going to sound really stupid but...

I have been having kind of niggling stabby kinda pains to my right hand side, could this be ovulation? I have never taken much notice before, its a case of shag get pregnant!!
