ttc after mc July/August 2007 - shiny new thread as the other was full

winemakesmummyclever · 30/08/2007 11:29

Hi,

I hope nobody minds me adding a new thread, but the other wouldn't let me reply.

LadyLush - Sorry to hear about your loss . In answer to your question, I thought I was around 11-12 weeks pg, but the scan said the baby was around 8-9 weeks. When I'd had the ERPC, the gynae reg said the uterus was around 14weeks and the baby was still 8-9 weeks.
I'm sure things do get better with time, but things are still pretty raw and new for me. I'm glad things are getting back to normal for you (and hopefully for others too).

iliketosleep · 10/09/2007 16:38

thankyou

alittlebitshy · 10/09/2007 17:00

ilts - sounding like it's going in the right direction. look after yourself!!!

alittlebitshy · 10/09/2007 17:01

i know i'm a fairly seasoned ttc-er (10 in total months including 2 m/cs and some waiting afterwards in there too)
but.... if i'm looking like i'm ov-ing soon (cm)and we bd'd last night and no chance again til tomorrow what are my chances??????

nh101 · 10/09/2007 17:22

I haven't been able to read everyone's posts but hope everyone is feeling OK today. Just an update - I am on my first month of Clomid after MC in March and I am also temping this month. I am on CD15 today and had a spike in temp this morning so I think I may have Ov'd yesterday (two more raised temps will confirm this). Have been getting lots of quality BDing in over the weekend so I am hopeful!

Trying to remember that there is more to it than having sex at the right time but at least I know I have got that bit right.

Am trying to stay away from MN a bit cos it is getting me well stressed out so will check in when I get AF or BFP (but probably earlier as I can't stay away!)

Lcy · 10/09/2007 17:52

alittlebitshy - i would say your chances are good. If you can see the CM it has probably been around your cervix for a while. Im sure missing out one day wont matter - make sure you have sex again when possible.

ladylush · 10/09/2007 18:19

flossie - sorry to hear you have to have an erpc. I had one and it was ok - better than waiting for it to happen but I realise you had tried the other one first so it is just delaying matters further. Frustrating isn't it.

ILTS - Did you get some good painkillers? They might be useful. I used diclofenac and codeine and they worked a darn sight better than paracetamol or ibuprofen.

Can't remember who asked about cycles post m/c. Sometimes they fall back into sync immediately and sometimes they take longer. Mine was about 5 days later this month and I had spotting for 4 days before it started.

Wheely - really good to hear from you. Glad you had a relaxing holiday. I think I need to take a leaf from your book also and stop putting my life on hold. My friend is getting married in Belize in January but I won't commit incase I fall pg. I've decided that if I'm not by November, I will delay ttc for a couple of months. Sorry to hear it's been a year You have a good memory - my hospital appt is on Wednesday morning. I wasn't disappointed not to get a bfp this month as I thought it would be best not to be pg when going for the appt so that they can get baseline tests done. Hope you will come back to the thread or at least pop in now and then, now that you are refreshed from your holiday.

cricri · 10/09/2007 18:43

Hi everybody,
Just found some of you from the March 2008 thread so hope it's OK to post on here.
I had my first scan this pm and found out the baby died at 6 weeks. I'm still in shock as I thought I was 13 weeks and was fully expecting to see a baby on the screen. Knew all wasn't well when I was asked to get ready for an internal scan. I just can't believe my body carried on regardless with the ms and tiredness etc.
DH is very upset too but is being wonderful.
We're going back to the hospital tomorrow morning where they'll take us through the options. Reading through your posts and the leaflet I've been given I'm thinking of opting for an ERPC, unless something happens naturally in the meantime.
I'm comforted by your positive attitudes though and by knowing that I'm not alone in this.

goingfor3 · 10/09/2007 18:44

alittlebitshy - every other day is better than every day. The swimmers live for at least a couple of days and hey also need time to regroup!

goingfor3 · 10/09/2007 18:45

cricri, sorry to hear what happened it must have been a great shock.

EllieG · 10/09/2007 18:50

How was the tree-climbing jules?

winemakesmummyclever · 10/09/2007 19:49

Hi to all .

Jules - hope you've managed to get down from your tree by now. Hope the day hasn't been too bad. Glad you're making steps to get help. Hang in there.
ilts - hope that you are ok. Keep yourself dosed up on painkillers and get plenty of rest.
cricri - so sorry to hear of your loss.
Flossie - sorry you've had to go through the ERPC, but at least you will be able to move forward soon.
Goingfor3 - the swimmers comment reminds me of something Alan Davies once said about them living for up to 72hrs & leaving the tv on for them when he went out .

Have had a mad busy weekend as trying to do jobs on house, get ready for trips away & entertain ds whilst still having some fun into the bargain. God, I'm knackered. It's a good kind of knackered though.

Had a bit of a wobble today when Sarah MacLachlan "I will remember you" starting playing on the radio . Managed not to crash the car , and am ok generally. Will bawl my eyes out tomorrow as going to Dublin for 5 days without ds (made the decision when pg & felt would be nice to have a rest). I'm going to miss him so much - bah, am filling up now at the thought of it. I think it will do dh & me good to have some time alone (plus think am ov'ing ) - shame he has to do work stuff though.

Hugs to everyone and hope that you are all getting along ok.

Lcy · 10/09/2007 20:16

Cricri - how are you doing? I also had a missed miscarriage but i was 10 and a half weeks. I couldnt believe it was possible at the time - it is a terrible shock. I opted for an ERPC so if you have any questions please ask. Let your DH look after you and take some time off work (if you work) if you can - i spent the first week crying but 3 weeks on feel much better if that is any comfort. Your not alone x

Lcy · 10/09/2007 20:17

Hi everyone else - i hope you are all ok xx

I have been blackberry picking and i am now going to make a pie - just call me Nigella

alittlebitshy · 10/09/2007 20:32

yum - blackberry pie!!

TJuice · 10/09/2007 20:52

cricri - so sorry to hear of you mmc, you must be shocked. i hope you have the support and care you need right now. thinking of you and good luck with the next few days.

wmmc - have a fab time in dublin. i reckon you will come back refreshed and happy or maybe partied out . . ? either which way, its always good to get out of your normal environment.

nh101 - quality bd-ing! that cracked me up. i had some quality bd-ing over the weekend and then i wondered if quality is better than quantity. let's hope so.

sleepy - hope it all works out smoothly for you - really a

flossie - a pain in the arse, for sure but at least you know this is the end of it know. good luck, hope it went well and that you are scoffing allsorts right now.

duvetwoman - doesn't it take a while for the hormone to show you are p/g depending on which kind of test you take (six days to two weeks or something)so i guess its time for the dr.

flosspot - you are a soldier! that just sounded like a 'mare but you coped. good for you

sybil - sorry about AF

wheelie - good to have you back and i like your attitude. i actually booked a trip to Paris in October for me and my bloke, using the £250 made from selling my crap at the flea market. right now, he is on his laptop, planning what we are going to do there, so its just really nice to have something else to focus on for a minute. we are moving too, so this month will be intense packing, moving, repainting and all that which devours my mopiness quite well.

justjules - am so intrigued by the going ape thing. can't wait to hear about it.

sweet kitty - also had a quick whip around the shops today - old habits die hard i guess, and i live within five minutes of copenhagen's walking st with all the shops. can't wait to move so i can just get home from work without being tempted to buy more cheap shite.

can't wait til friday, when i am coming back for a long weekend and going to a spa in bath with my mum! will stock up on proper tea, marmite and other necessities too and maybe eat some fish and chips. the things i miss about the uk . . .
there is also a school reunion on sat which i am tempted to go to, but at the same time, the whole facebook thing makes that sort of thing a bit redundant (more about me wanting to be half a stone lighter with fresh highlights than anything else!)

iliketosleep · 10/09/2007 21:34

hi people, just letting you all know that (fingers crossed) things are moving! i really hope so

winemakesmummyclever · 10/09/2007 21:52

ilts - thinking of you & hope you are ok. Let dp take care of you and get plenty of rest.
