Our other thread is getting quite long and I know they stop at 1,000 comments so thought I’d make a new one for us .
I am so sorry if I’ve missed anyone , just going by usernames I remember off the top of my head !
I’m currently 5 weeks pregnant (miscalculated and thought I was only 4+3). Going for an 8 week scan (I’ll be almost 9 weeks) on 25th Jan.
but I am really enjoying joining you on your journeys on TTC and you’ve all been amazing so I didn’t want to just say goodbye to the thread .
Please come on in if you’re new here , and join everyone on their journeys . I feel like we’ve been chatting forever but it’s only been a couple of months. What a roller coaster it’s been!

Anyway, as we were!

Hi guys how is everyone??

Can anyone help me determine if this is definitely a positive opk?

CurbsideProphet · 23/01/2020 22:11

I can see those 2 lines?
I've nothing useful to say, so hopefully someone knowledgeable will be along to give a definitive answer!

notalwaysalondoner · 24/01/2020 13:39

Yes it is - line is as dark or darker.

notalwaysalondoner · 24/01/2020 13:40

I’m now 2dpo. Annoyingly the second day of peak on my OPK DH had a really bad day at work and so we didn’t DTD. But did it day before and day after so hopefully caught it! Now into the TWW - I hate this part, it’s such a rollercoaster!

MGee123 · 24/01/2020 20:34

@Liam2018 yes from what I understand of OPKs that would be a peak!

@notalwaysalondoner I find the TWW a real rollercoaster. Fingers crossed for you. Have you got anything nice planned to take your mind of it all?

CurbsideProphet · 24/01/2020 22:48

Isn't it just a roller-coaster. I've just worked out that we unintentionally DTD when I might have been ovulating (depending on whether I ovulated normally after the chemical pregnancy). I'm on CD 24 (based on the CP) and I don't know what's going to happen with my body over the next few days.

MGee123 · 25/01/2020 06:34

@CurbsideProphet that sounds good then! When is AF due for you?

I've had a really short period this time (3 days) and am feeling better now it's finished. Back to DTD every other day 😂 I'm putting down the OPKs this month and we're just going to go with DTD regularly and try the more 'relaxed' approach. Not that I've ever been that good at relaxing...!

CurbsideProphet · 25/01/2020 15:42

AF is due by Tuesday. I don't know if I want it to start or not. Bit anxious about having the same again. Can't do anything about it now though I suppose!

notalwaysalondoner · 29/01/2020 11:38

Any update @CurbsideProphet?

I’m now 6dpo and my three different apps are giving very different dates for AF - the one I’ve been using for years just to track AF so has the most data in there says 1st Feb, another one says 3rd, and another says 5th! I’ve put OPK results in all three so not sure why some of them are doing OPK +14 days and others are just sticking to my average! So no idea when to get my hopes up! I guess I’ll wait until Wednesday...

I was very grumpy with DH yesterday though which normally happens about 5-7 days before AF but I hope he was just being really annoying and it’s not period hormones! For the first time he also said he really hopes we conceive this month - the last 4 months he’s been pretty chilled but I think the waiting and uncertainty is starting to get to him too. We’ve agreed to try to wait until at least 6 months before getting worried, but every month that goes past without a BFP it’s hard to keep positive and the worries that we might be one of the unlucky couples that really struggles creep in...

CurbsideProphet · 29/01/2020 12:26

@notalwaysalondoner AF showed herself on Monday. It's probably for the best, as it means I'm back in a normal cycle and not all confused. At least I'll know approximately when I should ovulate.

Have you looked at the"sperm meets egg" website. I might suggest it to DH if there's no BFP at the end of Feb.

The uncertainty is so awful, especially as it feels like other couples only need to look at each other to conceive uncomplicated pregnancies. I'm 34 now and I wish we had gotten married and started trying sooner, as even if I was just 4 years younger I would feel less worried. 12 months of trying will take us to my 35th birthday.

I've been getting emotional about the whole thing and trying not to show DH too much. He has been very worried about me since the chemical pregnancy and I don't want to add to that.

One thing that's keeping us going is booking annual leave from work and making plans. Every weekend we have something planned, even small things like going out to a cafe for lunch. We're going away for two nights in March. I will either have had another period the week before, or be a week late. Either way, it will do us good.

CurbsideProphet · 29/01/2020 12:27

I think there's only us, @MGee123 and @Liam2018 on the thread now. I'll keep it going Grin

notalwaysalondoner · 29/01/2020 14:13

Plans help - I’m making some aggressive holiday plans but not actually booking them yet as they wouldn’t be pregnancy/baby suitable (eg sailing the Atlantic, trekking in Ethiopia) which helps see there is a life out there while TTC! At some point I’ll have to book though and just see what happens I guess, maybe 2-3 months before. The sailing is easier as I can drop out but holidays less so...

I have two good friends who are due in April, one of whom didn’t want kids ever until about a year ago. It’s tough knowing she’ll be a mother before me even though she so strongly didn’t want children until recently. Neither of them have explicitly told me how long it took them to conceive though, it’s easy to assume it happened instantly but people tend to keep it to themselves unless it was really fast or really difficult, so it’s hard to know what’s normal.

notalwaysalondoner · 29/01/2020 14:15

I also am starting to wish we’d tried sooner - I was probably ready 3-4 years ago but DH really really wasn’t. It’s been good for my career to leave it a while but it’s hard not to wonder “what if...”. I’m 30.

CurbsideProphet · 29/01/2020 15:10

DH and I only met 5 years ago, so it was difficult to start any sooner. I was ready before we met 😩

Luckily none of my friends are pregnant or talking about having children. Some don't want them at all. DH is a bit older and all his friends have children / are pregnant. Now we're married and ttc he's admitted how much he really does want to be a dad. My friends who do have children had "surprises".

Even something minor like a wedding at the end of May makes me think "oh but will I feel like driving to the other end of the country if I'm nearly 12 weeks pg", when I might not be.

Butterflyflower1234 · 29/01/2020 15:37

Hi all, count me in as of a months time. We're getting married next month and hoping to a honeymoon baby. I had the coil removed in December and have been taking folic acid since then.

I had scar tissue removed back in April 2019 and they said I had endometriosis so I'm not sure how that'll affect TTC. I'm hoping having had the operation to remove everything then I might still be ok.

I have regular periods and know when I'm ovulating from body changes and my app. We've got ovulation date as the day we arrive back from honeymoon but we'll be busy every day anyways.

I know first month is highly unlikely so I need to prepare myself for that. I just want to try and enjoy the process as much as possible too.

Good luck everyone!!

Also what does DPO stand for please?

GaaaaarlicBread · 29/01/2020 16:51

I’m popping in every now and then to check to see how you’re all doing girls , really crossing my fingers for you !
@Butterflyflower1234 good luck ! And congrats on the marriage , we got married in Feb last year and the weather was great ! What date are you getting married ? It’s our one year Wedding anniversary on 24th Feb .
DPO means days past ovulation :)

Hows everyone going? I'm currently 5dpo (although not sure I can call it that cause I only dtd 4 days before positive opk and two days after so probably missed my chance but still, you gotta have hope. Not really many symptoms just tired, occasional cramps or sharp pains and a lot of ewcm a week later which is unusual! Hows everyone else doing

Hannahb26 · 29/01/2020 17:27

I'm still here too - just absolutely nothing to report 😭 boobs have been sore for about a week but AF isn't due for almost 2 weeks. Think my body isn't just playing games here 🙄

CurbsideProphet · 29/01/2020 17:49

Hi @Hannahb26 ah shame there's no news. We're all still here too Flowers

@Liam2018 there's always hope Smile

Welcome @Butterflyflower1234 Smile

Hope you're feeling well @itsemily?

GaaaaarlicBread · 29/01/2020 17:59

@curbside I’m ok , still got the sickness and had a seizure Saturday but all seems to be ok . Got my private scan on Monday where I’ll be 10 weeks + 2 days , and then my 12 week scan week after where I’ll be 11+5 so almost 12 weeks. Nothing much to report really !
@Liam2018 I wouldn’t worry , I only had sex 5 days before I was predicted to ovulate and it worked 👶🏼 Good luck everyone xx

Still here ladies . . . Nothing to report. Ditched the opks this month and just Dtd on cd 13,16,17,19,21 currently cd 22 hoping to Dtd tomorrow cd23 and hoping that'll cover us. From previous opks I seem to ovulate late in my cycle so reckon I either ovulated in the past few days or today. This Saturday would have been my due date had I not had the ectopic.

Liam2018 · 29/01/2020 19:13

So guys any advice please

Last thursday I got a v positive opk (first picture) but we only dtd 4 days before so gave up. Anyway I'm 5dpo today and I noticed I had very stretchy ewcm (sorry tmi) so I took an opk... granted it's not as dark but positive right? (Second picture) any advice please :(

My advise @liam is stop doing OPK’s , enjoy DTD when you feel like it (every 2-3 days), ditch the tracking and just go with the flow . You’ll end up stressing yourself out .
@hopefulhel thinking of you and I hope you’re ok. Well done for ditching the OPKs , sounds like you’ve given it a good shot

I really feel for you @CurbsideProphet @notalwaysalondoner - I totally get where you're coming from. I only just feel ready to start contemplating a baby but DH has been desperate for a while. I'm only 30 but equally am having the feeling of 'what if'. I've ditched the OPKs and have booked some stuff in that I had previously decided not to do, in case I was pregnant. I'm going to genuinely try and do the whole 'carry on as if you're not trying' and see how we go for a few months. I'm actually feeling much better not doing the OPKs. We will see!

It's a tough ride all of this. My best friend is 20 weeks now and has had her second scan. I'm so happy for her, but at times it really hurts. Considering last year I wasn't sure I was ready, my brain has definitely done a 360 pretty rapidly!!

hopefulhel · 29/01/2020 20:24

Thanks @itsemily I'm not too bad. I did think when I had the ectopic in June that I would be pregnant by now but things don't always work out as planned. If nothing has happened by next month I'll go to the doctor and ask to be referred to a gynaecologist. That'll be six months actively ttc
