Our other thread is getting quite long and I know they stop at 1,000 comments so thought I’d make a new one for us .
I am so sorry if I’ve missed anyone , just going by usernames I remember off the top of my head !
I’m currently 5 weeks pregnant (miscalculated and thought I was only 4+3). Going for an 8 week scan (I’ll be almost 9 weeks) on 25th Jan.
but I am really enjoying joining you on your journeys on TTC and you’ve all been amazing so I didn’t want to just say goodbye to the thread .
Please come on in if you’re new here , and join everyone on their journeys . I feel like we’ve been chatting forever but it’s only been a couple of months. What a roller coaster it’s been!

Anyway, as we were!

@MGee123 the nurse is from a specialist hospital in a different trust. I don't know my GP will be obliged to do a referral on the nurse's recommendation, or if the hospital will be obliged to accept it 😬
I've found a private hospital that has a consultant from an NHS Trust, so I'm going to call next week and check what the wait list is like to see her.
At least I feel like there are options now. AF has only been medium flow for 2 days, and now v light. It's changed so much since January.
I agree about feeling lifted mentally by making plans to go private for some assessments if needed 🙂
It's so muggy here 😬 thunder again this afternoon!

CurbsideProphet · 26/06/2020 17:27

@camha you must really feel like things are moving forward now that your DH has been referred for SA. Are you starting the progesterone for your next cycle (if you need it)?

CurbsideProphet · 26/06/2020 22:04

I've been googling cycles and period length and on the NHS website it says a cycle from 21 to 38 days is considered normal, plus periods lasting 2 to 7 days are normal.
I feel better reading that, as my cycles are currently 24 days and my periods only last 3 days.
Obviously it's different from before new year, but still within normal range so I shouldn't be too worried?

MGee123 · 26/06/2020 22:30

Yes I have read that before and it reassured me a bit. My doctor was also insistent to not get hung up about luteal phase length etc! My periods are usually only 3 days or so as well, and average cycle length is 24 days. I have recently had one that was 28 and one which was 21 though?! 🤷‍♀️

I've had some odd pains this evening which I'm wondering might be ovulation. I've been so bloated the whole of this cycle so far, it's getting quite annoying. Hoping something kicks in soon to settle it down! My temp chart is very confusing so I'm not relying too heavily on that and the clearblue OPKs keep saying low. Might just write this cycle off! We've had a break from DTD today (3 days in a row was too much 😂). Will get back to it tomorrow!

camha · 27/06/2020 12:33

@MGee123 I think Kings it meant to be really good, hopefully the wait won't be too long!

@CurbsideProphet yes I'll be starting progesterone next cycle!

I'm on CD25 today and started spotting last night, so I'm out this month ☹️ I'm gutted.. I just felt like I had a 'feeling' think month, but I was obviously wrong. It's so hard not to get hopes up.. I'm really hoping the progesterone will do the trick next cycle!

CurbsideProphet · 27/06/2020 17:42

I'm sorry @camha 💐
Before ttc I genuinely didn't realise it would be so up and down and affect my mental health this much.

I wondered if you two would want to move over to Facebook messenger to continue our chatting? Happy to stay here if you prefer!

camha · 27/06/2020 19:11

@CurbsideProphet me neither, it's so up and down and so emotionally draining. I supported my best friend through it and though I knew how difficult it could be, but I think it's one of those things you can't fully understand until you go through it yourself. My best friend (who has PCOS and Endometriosis) now has two beautiful children though, that gives me hope!

I'd be happy to move over to Facebook Messenger ☺️

MGee123 · 27/06/2020 19:25

I'm so sorry @camha 😢 it's such a rubbish day when AF arrives. Hope it doesn't last too long so you can get on with the next cycle and trying using the progesterone. That is lovely news about your friend and definitely a story which keeps the hope alive! I really feel for people with PCOS - must be so difficult knowing from the off you've got a challenge ahead of you. And with the often long cycles - I don't think I could cope with those. Much to be grateful for despite the fact we're still not pregnant!

I was so naïve about TTC - I can't believe I actually thought it would just happen! 🙈😂 Equally had no idea the amount of emotional turmoil it causes.

I've concluded I think it is a new granola I bought which is making me bloat 😂😂😂 I'm going to stop eating it for a few days and see. Shame, as it is really yummy! We had a day off yesterday and have got back on DTD today. OH is very motivated to do it virtually every day until the possibility of ovulation has definitely passed - I think this is starting to get him down too, although he doesn't really want to talk about it much. My temp hasn't risen I think the low temp a few days back was a blip. If I follow the pattern of my last 2 cycles I will ovulate on CD 16 (13 today). Although my OPKs are still showing low fertility (have been high from day 9/10) 🤷‍♀️🙈

I'm happy to swap over to messenger or stay on here - whichever is easier. Not sure how we find each other on messenger?!

camha · 28/06/2020 10:30

@MGee123 it really is. I had a temp drop today too, so expecting AF to arrive fully in the next couple of days. I'm just want her to arrive now so I can get on with the my cycle and the progesterone.
You're right, there's definitely lots to be thankful for even though we're not pregnant yet.

It's good you've found the cause of your bloating. I also suffer with it quite a bit and find that it gets bad when I eat lots of processed food.

I think my husband is the same in that it's starting to get him down too. Which is obviously not nice, but it helps knowing he cares too. And also he's up for putting in the effort! Fingers crossed you'll get your positive OPK soon.

MGee123 · 28/06/2020 21:06

Yes I'm the same with processed food @camha. I cook from scratch a lot but in lockdown have got into some bad habits of buying a few too many treats on the weekly shop! I'm justifying it with the fact we aren't spending money on anything else 😂

I'm sorry it feels AF is on the way. It's always disappointing when you feel that is inevitable. Hoping the spotting is a sign of something more positive. Do you start using the progesterone after you've ovulated?

I've given up on the OPKs as I ran out and didn't order another box in time 🤷‍♀️😂 plus they are quite expensive and temping seems to do the job. My temp dropped again today so I think ovulation is on its way properly this time 🤞 I've also had some EWCM (sorry TMI!) today. We've DTD 6 out of the past 8 days - we've both admitted we're keen for a break 😂 hoping temp starts to go up so I can feel confident ovulation has happened and we can have a rest! CD 14 today so looks like I might be ovulating a day or 2 earlier than last month, hopefully might give me a slightly longer luteal phase (whilst GP says it doesn't matter I'm not convinced he's right!). Bring on the pineapple juice 👍

BruceAndMarley · 07/07/2020 08:02

Hey ladies, this is the OP here I made a new account as I was getting a bit obsessed with coming on MN, but I found myself wanting to check back in to see how you all are so I’ve made a new one (recently got two kittens so that’s what my username is). How are you all getting on during the pandemic ? I hope you’re all ok you helped me through so much when TTC !

hopefulhel · 12/07/2020 23:40

Hi ladies, sorry I've been quiet lately. Work is mental and haven't had a minute. AF arrived on sat, as we have been ttc for over twelve months since my ectopic I've decided to buy the mira fertility device. Will let ye know how I get on with it

BruceAndMarley · 22/09/2020 06:50

@hopefulhel hey, how are you getting on?

BruceAndMarley · 22/09/2020 06:52

This is the OP by the way, just checking in with everyone . Our little girl arrived safely last month via emergency c section at 39+2 x

hopefulhel · 07/10/2020 22:51

@BruceAndMarley aw big congrats to you. Still trying, still no bfp. Had a consultation with a fertility clinic two weeks ago. So debating whether to go down that route or not. Am thinking of holding off until January especially with covid. Was basically told due to age, length of time trying, immune issues and previous stomach surgeries that ivf would be our best hope

BruceAndMarley · 01/11/2020 13:58

@hopefulhel I hope you’re ok. Covid has definitely put a hold on things for a lot of people . My pregnancy was awful with lockdown and my husband couldn’t come to any scans other than the first 12 week one. After my EMCS DH could only stop an hour, Covid really does suck. I really feel for everyone TTC and having to put it on hold or people going through pregnancy now with the second lockdown . How are you feeling , have you decided about the fertility clinic ? X

hopefulhel · 01/11/2020 16:51

@Bruceandmarley well we went ahead and had an initial consultant with a fertility clinic. Waited a few weeks to mull over what was said. We're actually in for fertility testing in the morning but I think regardless of the outcome, if we can, I am going to opt for ivf 🤞🤞

itsheapsswell · 01/11/2020 22:42

@BruceAndMarley I hunted down this thread too after feeling nostalgic on a Sunday evening! I was on the original thread and I would check it an incredible amount, it helped me out loads!

My little girl arrived in August- had her by emergency c section too and now she’s a delightful 2 month old!

Truly am praying for all you ladies. Hopefully one day you can look back at all your posts and smile!

BruceAndMarley · 02/11/2020 02:06

@itsheapsswell ah how lovely to hear from you ! I’m so glad your daughter arrived safely too. She must be very close in age to my little girl, she’s 10 weeks on Wednesday ! How are you finding it ? Was your pregnancy ok?

itsheapsswell · 02/11/2020 07:48

@BruceAndMarley absolutely- my little B was 10 weeks yesterday, born on 23rd August :).

I had a really good first two trimesters but physically I found 30+ weeks really tough! I got absolutely massive and I’m only a little person so I was struggling at the end- my ankles were so swollen I could barely walk! Keeping my fingers crossed for easier subsequent pregnancies but it was all worth it in the end!

Absolutely loving it. I had 2 weeks of baby blues and found the recovery from the c section a bit hit or miss during that time (not pain-wise or the incision, more the dizziness/weakness/headaches/faintness) but that quickly went and now I am absolutely adoring motherhood. B is a brill sleeper too, she’s a bit sicky after feeds but I’m sure she’ll grow out of it! And with you?

BruceAndMarley · 02/11/2020 14:47

@itsheapsswell That’s great I am so glad you’re enjoying it and your pregnancy was somewhat ok minus the last 10 weeks !

Pregnancy was ok, few complications health wise for me but G is absolutely fine . Nightmare baby and I’m suffering from PND but she is healthy in herself just a difficult and needy breastfed baby !
