Our other thread is getting quite long and I know they stop at 1,000 comments so thought I’d make a new one for us .
I am so sorry if I’ve missed anyone , just going by usernames I remember off the top of my head !
I’m currently 5 weeks pregnant (miscalculated and thought I was only 4+3). Going for an 8 week scan (I’ll be almost 9 weeks) on 25th Jan.
but I am really enjoying joining you on your journeys on TTC and you’ve all been amazing so I didn’t want to just say goodbye to the thread .
Please come on in if you’re new here , and join everyone on their journeys . I feel like we’ve been chatting forever but it’s only been a couple of months. What a roller coaster it’s been!

Anyway, as we were!

I’m now 8dpo and I had some brownish stained discharge. I’ve also had a few stomach and back twinges over the last day or two. Implantation symptoms? Or am I just overanalysing? I’m not planning to take a test unless AF doesn’t come next week, and it feels like such a long wait.

One of my friends told me today she is expecting in July. Unfortunately, she didn’t have the easiest journey to becoming pregnant (trying for a year, followed by a miscarriage), although things seem to be going well now. I’m very excited for her, and hoping I will soon be in the same position too.

However I’m not that happy in my job and I’ve been shortlisted for a phone interview for a job later this week, and it’s really hard to know what to do when TTC, when I could potentially end up losing a lot of maternity pay.

notalwaysalondoner · 19/01/2020 09:00

@dsttc123 I know what you mean, you don’t just want to stick in a job you don’t like or that isn’t going anywhere in case it takes you a while to conceive, but then it is potentially a lot of money if you move jobs then get pregnant in your first month there! I’d say go for it and if you get the job you can see how you feel. In the long term it’s probably better for your career (and health) to be in a job you enjoy even if you miss out on a few months maternity pay.

@itsemily that sounds great! I’m always dubious about how they can date so exactly when normal healthy full term babies can vary from 6-10lbs... that’s almost double the weight! But maybe at the beginning they’re all more similar?! So exciting for you to see it!

My clearblue is flashing smiley so I am in my fertile window at CD11. We DTD the last two days and will try and keep going until the day after ovulation. My cervix is soft and low and I have EWCM which I don’t normally get.

Liam2018 · 19/01/2020 17:10

Could this be my v first positive opk test?

🤞🏻🤞🏻 for you @notalwaysalondoner all good signs there.

Quick @Liam2018 DTD right now Grin

Liam2018 · 19/01/2020 19:27

Luckily did already this morning 😆 I've been told somewhere else its not positive but it looks pretty positive to me

CurbsideProphet · 19/01/2020 21:25

@Liam2018 I really struggle to use OPKs, so I just plot my periods and work out when I am likely to ovulate. I think that's why the NHS advice is to DTD every other day from the end of AF, as that way you can't miss it.

notalwaysalondoner · 19/01/2020 22:01

@Liam2018 you could argue it isn’t quite as dark as the control line, but honestly who knows?! That’s why I switched to the clearblue digital as in two months of doing OPKs I never had a positive or even a line as dark as yours even though I’m 99% sure I’m ovulating every month based on all the signs. Fingers crossed!

DH is in a bad mood as he’s lost something (!) so might have to wait DTD until the morning. Maybe I can somehow distract him... I swear TTC turns us into sneaky nymphomaniacs when we think we’re ovulating!

GaaaaarlicBread · 20/01/2020 08:00

Looking forward to keeping updated with you all and seeing you get your BFP’s . Remember dont stress about tracking it’ll make you go crazy !

Hi ladies, AF is due tomorrow and I am usually dry in terms of CM just before AF, but today I have lots of watery non smelling CM. Early sign do we think? My cervix has been high but feels quite firm so I’m not sure! Xx

MGee123 · 20/01/2020 18:48

I've never had any OPKs darker than yours @Liam2018 - I'd go for it 😂

I'm on CD 23 and am not sure if I ovulated this month. Tender boobs at the moment though and feeling knackered (although I'm busy at work so it could well be that!). I'm also experiencing some epic mood swings 🙈

Looking forward to the weekend either way so I can either find out I'm pregnant or get rid of the mood swings 😂

MGee123 · 20/01/2020 18:48

@LeaBri I'm not sure - could be?! Who knows. This TTC lark all seems a bit random in terms of signs and symptoms to me!

CurbsideProphet · 20/01/2020 21:28

🤞🏻🤞🏻@LeaBri that sounds promising. Thank you for recommending Ovia btw.

LeaBri · 20/01/2020 21:44

@MGee123 @CurbsideProphet fingers crossed ladies!! I agree the symptoms can be random and different for everyone! Will keep you posted once I test. Glad you like the app!! Xx

MGee123 · 20/01/2020 22:00

Keeping 🤞 for you the next few day's @LeaBri 😊 keep us updated 👍

notalwaysalondoner · 21/01/2020 14:08

Good luck @LeaBri! I agree with @MGee123, symptoms are so variable, some months I have lots and convince myself I’m pregnant, other months literally nothing. But I haven’t been pregnant either way!

I got a solid smiley on my OPK so peak ovulation today on CD13. It’s reassuring to know I’m almost definitely ovulating as the strip tests never gave me a clear positive. We DTD yesterday morning and going to do it this evening - hope we caught it! My cervix is very soft and CM watery so all the signs are there. Just hope we catch it as we’ve DTD every day or every other day the last few months at the right time too and no luck, so feeling less optimistic this month.

Liam2018 · 21/01/2020 18:51

Thanks guys since then they've been lighter deffo so had to be my lh surge right? I'll put pic of the difference, the top one is the darkest and they've got lighter after which is the bottom two

Fingers crossed @Liam2018 🤞

AF arrived for me today 😔 roll on cycle 6! 24 day cycle this month - who knows what my body is up to. On the up side, I'm ditching dry January and enjoying a few glasses of red until next Monday when we'll get back to the DTD cycle 😂

I'm wondering whether it's worth going to the GP next week as I really am not convinced I'm ovulating. No changes in CM, no positive OPKs and variable cycles 🤷‍♀️

notalwaysalondoner · 22/01/2020 09:27

To be honest I would @MGee123. No idea if they’ll be able to refer you at all as nhs guidelines are to try for a year, but you might get a sympathetic GP or they may be able to advise you if it’s worth thinking about some private checks or if you’re just overthinking it. Have you tried different types of OPK? I didn’t get a clear positive the two months of using cheapies but this month using clear blue digital I got one.

GaaaaarlicBread · 22/01/2020 17:14

@LeaBri I hate loads of CM before my BFP and a high cervix . So it sounds good 👌🏽 fingers crossed 🤞🏼 for you xx

@MG123 if you have a GP you feel comfortable talking to it can't do any harm to book an appointment. At least you might feel a bit reassured.

I'm almost embarrassed to admit this, but I don't know what I'm feeling for cervix wise Confused Blush Grin

MGee123 · 22/01/2020 20:14

Thank you @CurbsideProphet @notalwaysalondoner - I think I might. If nothing else but to just talk it through with them! I don't have a regular doctor (barely ever go) but am going to try and see the same person from now on to build some continuity.

I'm not all that clear what I'm feeling re cervix either. Mine does feel different at times, but not exactly 'soft' or 'high'! 🤷‍♀️

CurbsideProphet · 22/01/2020 20:31

I don't even know whether I'm feeling mine or not?!

notalwaysalondoner · 22/01/2020 21:03

Ok so I’m going to get graphic @curbsideprophet and @MGee123!

Basically put your finger up as far as it will go. It should hit something where you can’t go any further, although this will be a bit curved into your vagina in the middle, not just a flat surface. So your finger can kind of feel quite far around the edge of it to the sides, as the cervix projects into the vagina. A bit like if the tip of your nose was poking into the top of your vagina - you’d be able to feel the tip but then the sides would be a bit deeper!

Over the month it will get higher during ovulation and lower towards your period. This takes time to get used to - you can try and remember how far your finger went in. I find the hard vs soft much more obvious. Away from ovulation it is hard like the end of your nose or even harder, like your chin. Near ovulation it is really soft, like your lips. If you tap your lips then your chin you’ll see the difference! Again it will take a while to learn what’s normal for you and it’s worth doing every day or you won’t tell the difference. Some people can tell if it’s open or closed but I can’t.

An additional benefit to checking your cervix is I personally find that any changes in my CM are much more obvious when i look at my fingers after checking than if I just look at loo paper or my pants (where I can’t see any difference really).

MGee123 · 22/01/2020 21:19

Thank you @notalwaysalondoner 😂 that was kind of the gist I'd got but am just not that sure what I'm feeling 😂

I only started last month so perhaps with additional 'experience' it might make more sense this month!!
