Our other thread is getting quite long and I know they stop at 1,000 comments so thought I’d make a new one for us .
I am so sorry if I’ve missed anyone , just going by usernames I remember off the top of my head !
I’m currently 5 weeks pregnant (miscalculated and thought I was only 4+3). Going for an 8 week scan (I’ll be almost 9 weeks) on 25th Jan.
but I am really enjoying joining you on your journeys on TTC and you’ve all been amazing so I didn’t want to just say goodbye to the thread .
Please come on in if you’re new here , and join everyone on their journeys . I feel like we’ve been chatting forever but it’s only been a couple of months. What a roller coaster it’s been!

Anyway, as we were!

@MGee123 I think I've always spotted a bit before AF but nothing like recently where it's up to 10 days before.. And yes, taking it one day at a time is definitely a good idea, but as you say easier said than done. I really need to work on being a bit kinder to myself!

I tried to have a little google and it seems it's normal for the temp to vary a bit, I suppose especially in the beginning when still getting the hang of it 🤷🏽‍♀️

@CurbsideProphet yeah I normally bleed / spot for around 2 weeks. Definitely doesn't seem normal, does it. It's a good idea to try speak to another GP, I might do that on Monday. Though I've just found out that my work health plan covers £400 worth of 'diagnostic consultation, tests and scans', so I've found a women's health clinic near me and they do both general Gyneocology and also fertility tests, so I'm going to call them on Monday.

I'm on CD11 and had a flashing smiley today, so we've DTD today and will try to do it every day until ovulation.

How are you both today? And how are you doing @hopefulhel ?

CurbsideProphet · 13/06/2020 19:52

We actually dtd again last night even though DH was tired, as he said we've got to be in it to win it 😀 though he wants a day off today after spending hours doing the garden and splitting wood to store for winter (we have a log burner)!

@camha wow your work health plan is great. You have an action plan now, so hopefully that's reassuring for you.
DH and I both have Simply Health, so I should see what we can claim back of going private is an option.

camha · 14/06/2020 11:55

@CurbsideProphet mine is through Simply Health, so it's definitely worth looking in to!

MGee123 · 14/06/2020 19:48

Gosh that's great you've got that cover @camha ! And maybe you as well @CurbsideProphet ! I had wondered about looking at private tests in a few months. Will wait and see what the NHS process and timescales are I think, then decide.

We did lots of garden stuff today as well. I do find it therapeutic! Unfortunately I've been feeling a bit bloated and started getting a bit of cramping so I think AF will be arriving this evening or tomorrow 😢 CD 24 today and 8 dpo. I'm wondering if my poor eggs even get chance to try and implant!

camha · 15/06/2020 17:01

@MGee123 yeah I'm so glad I realised! I've just booked in for a consult + internal scan on Tuesday, hopefully at the very least it'll give me reassurance if everything looks normal.

Sorry to hear about your cramping. Fingers crossed it's a good kind of cramping 🤞🏼 How are you feeling today?

CurbsideProphet · 15/06/2020 17:32

@camha you must be so relieved to have that appointment booked. I'm going to have a look at my own Simply Health account.

I hope you're ok @MGee123?

I'm having terrible problems with migraines. 😔 I usually have botox injections every 12 weeks, but no idea when the hospital will be able to run the clinic again. It's so clammy and stormy which isn't helping. I feel like I'm craving full fat coke and salty crisps, but I can't have them every day for the next few months!

MGee123 · 15/06/2020 19:28

That's great news @camha ! Will be thinking of you and hope all goes well. Look forward to hearing the outcome.

Your migraines sound horrible @CurbsideProphet. I have them from time to time too, but luckily nowhere near as badly as yours sound. Interestingly since I have become vegan I have had far fewer. I don't know if there is a link there or if it is coincidental!

AF arrived today as expected 😢 I'm a bit disappointed but on the up side had a 24 day cycle which was better than last month. I think temping has really helped keep me ground this month - taking it each morning and seeing the pattern emerge stopped my mind running away with me. I haven't felt a desire to take a pregnancy test at all this month, nor have I felt hugely emotional. Maybe I have just had a good month or maybe it was the temping, who knows!

This was my chart for the month, in case you're interested @camha. You can see a clear dip pre ovulation and then a spike post-ovulation (albeit not a big or quick one - not sure if this means anything?) and then my temp drops off as expected if not pregnant to AF arriving today. We didn't do so well on DTD this month, although did seem to do it on the important days. Aiming to be more consistent next month!

No idea why a load of that is in bold, I wasn't shouting 😂

camha · 15/06/2020 20:51

@CurbsideProphet definitely have a look, I think they only have one plan but with different levels of how much they'll cover, I'm on level 3 which is £400. The consult + scan is £300 though so won't be much left if they need to run more tests. Something to keep in mind though, they wouldn't cover the fertility package as my clinic class it as a check up rather than a diagnostic consultation 🤷🏽‍♀️ but I think all clinics are different. My Simply Health also cover £75 worth of reflexology and £250 worth of acupuncture, so I'm going to look into that as well when they open.

Your migraines sounds horrible. I get them from time to time, and my DH suffers with them quite badly. It's really not nice! Hopefully the hospital will open the clinic again soon.

@MGee123 I'm sorry AF arrived, but it's good to hear you've been feeling better this cycle and that you're finding temping helpful. I haven't decided yet if I'm finding it helpful or stressful 😂 my temp seem to be going up and down quite a lot. I'm not sure if my thermometer is working properly, it says it's meant to take 3-5 mins to measure, but mine takes from under 10 seconds to maybe a minute. The other day I swear it took less than 5 seconds 🤔
It's really interesting to see your chart, what app do you use? As I said my temp is all over the place, but I'm hoping I'll see a clearer pattern after ovulation.

I'm currently CD13, third day of flashing smileys. We've been DTD every day since CD11 and will try to keep that up. The flashing smiley started 3-4 days earlier than normal this month so assuming I'll ovulate earlier, but we'll see 🤷🏽‍♀️

Lauramarkerevans · 16/06/2020 10:00

Hi there, I was wondering if any of you have experience trying for a baby after suffering with anorexia? I have suffered for 5 years and lost my period in that time. I have currently managed to maintain a healthy weight now for a year and I’ve only had one very light cycle last month. I have been taking OPKs since, both the cheapies and the clear blue advanced kit. The clear blue showed high fertility (flashing smiley) for 8 days straight but never showed a peak. The cheap ones did go darker but again never reached a peak. So I don’t believe I am ovulating. I am so desperate for a baby now and really losing the will to live :( any advice would be appreciated.

Laura

camha · 16/06/2020 12:36

Hi @Lauramarkerevans I'm sorry to hear you're struggling. I don't have any experience personally, but if you're concerned, perhaps book an appointment with your GP? How long have you been TTC for?

Lauramarkerevans · 16/06/2020 12:47

@camha well I haven’t used contraception in 5 years but also haven’t had a period in that time so I knew it wouldn’t be likely that I’d fall pregnant (it would have been a miracle) but actively I’ve been more focused on trying for a year. But only started using OPKs for the last month

camha · 16/06/2020 13:30

@Lauramarkerevans I'd say definitely get in touch with your GP, they will refer you to fertility specialists if you've been trying for more than a year.

Lauramarkerevans · 16/06/2020 13:34

@camha yeah I went to see my GP in January and they referred me to the fertility specialist but there is a long waiting list and then covid hit and all out patient appointments are on hold so I haven’t even heard from the fertility people :( I’m so impatient too and just want it all now:(

CurbsideProphet · 16/06/2020 21:33

@Lauramarkerevans I read recently that hospitals are starting up fertility services again, so you could always give them a call and ask where you are on the list. At least you would know where they're up to. I understand the impatience Flowers

How did your appointment go @camha? We've had almost constant thunderstorms since Friday which really isn't helping my migraine 😬

@MGee123 I seem to have 24-25 day cycles now. My GP said that's still normal 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm feeling a bit low this month. Resigned to not being pregnant. I think I'm just quite wound up over work and my migraines. I'll keep telling myself that anyway 😩

MGee123 · 16/06/2020 21:38

@camha I use the Femometer app. I found it a bit stressful the first week or so but then got used to it! Mine does take a minute or 2 to beep, but guess it depends which thermometer you have? A few seconds does sound a bit quick. Have you tried taking it again immediately after to see if you get a similar result? 🤞 for a peak smiley face for you soon!

@Lauramarkerevans I'm sorry to hear about your difficulties. In all honesty, if you're not having periods I would have thought it's unlikely you're ovulating. I would definitely speak with your GP for proper advice and a plan!

I had my blood test today to check my iron levels and have a telephone call with the doctor on Friday to discuss the results. Fingers crossed it's picked up!

My luteal phase on a 24 day cycle (my average) is only 8, as I tend to ovulate CD 16 - im wondering if this is an issue? Reading online it looks like 10 or more is ideal but my GP said not to worry 🤷‍♀️

camha · 16/06/2020 22:45

@Lauramarkerevans I agree with @CurbsideProphet, they should be starting up again soon so give them a call. I totally get the impatience, it's really hard. We just have to keep going!

@CurbsideProphet my appointment is next week Tuesday, I didn't make that very clear in my message yesterday, sorry!
I'm sorry you're feeling low and that your migraines aren't easing ☹️ what day are you on today?

@MGee123 I have a Femometer thermometer but I've just been using my Flo app, but I'm going to try the Femometer app as well, I like the look of it. I'm starting to wonder whether my thermometer might be faulty. I've tried taking it again immediately after and there's been massive differences 🤔 one day it went from 36.13 to 36.35... I got it from Amazon but I might try to get in touch with the seller to see what they say.

Fingers crossed for your blood tests! As for your luteal phase, I did some research and also mentioned it to my GP when I thought mine might be a bit short. There seem to be lots of conflicting information out there 🤔 Dr.Google seem to think it might be a worry, but my GP as yours said there's nothing to worry about.. Who knows 🤷🏽‍♀️

MGee123 · 18/06/2020 21:16

How is work @CurbsideProphet ? Sorry you're feeling low 😢 I've been a bit wobbly the last few days - it's all so up and down. Cried most of the way into work yesterday, like you just feeling like being pregnant is never going to happen. I'm seeing my sister this weekend so hoping that will perk me up a bit!

I have the Femometer one too @camha. It sounds like the thermometer might be a bit dodgy 🤷‍♀️ worth seeing what they say. Yes I got to the same conclusion with dr Google! 😂 my GP was very clear I wasn't to worry about it so I'm trying not too. Hard to not fixate on things which could be wrong though! I'm almost desperate to get to the 12 month mark now so we can start having some tests, as it just feels it isn't going to happen. My period has been much heavier this month. Still going after 4 days! Normally done in 3!!

camha · 18/06/2020 22:41

@MGee123 my thermometer seem to have stabilised a bit now and takes a bit longer, so think I'm just putting it down to me getting used to it 🤷🏽‍♀️
I totally get the desperation to get to 12 months and get tests done, especially when it's so close. Fingers crossed you won't need them 🤞🏼 Sorry to hear AF is heavier than normal and that you've felt a bit wobbly. This stuff really isn't easy. Hopefully seeing your sister will help!

I'm on CD16 today, I had my static smiley yesterday so pretty sure I ovulated today, which is 1-2 days earlier than normal for me. It'll be interesting to see if my temp increases tomorrow! We DTD days 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15, fingers crossed that'll be enough 🤞🏼
I can kind of feel myself slipping into the TWW mood already, just feeling a bit deflated. I'm really trying to stay positive. I've had a really good feeling this cycle up until today and I really want to keep that going. But it's easier said than done. I just really really hate the waiting around!

CurbsideProphet · 19/06/2020 13:18

@MGee123 it's so hard isn't it. I listen to other people's problems and it's really difficult when I'm struggling myself. Has AF calmed down a bit?
@camha it's such an effort to keep the positivity and optimism going, isn't it.

I'm 8 dpo. I'm always tired and emotional, so that's no different for me 🤦🏻‍♀️

CurbsideProphet · 19/06/2020 13:37

I'm partly resigned to not getting pregant and essentially just waiting to be referred in October, but then I've also put pomegranate juice on the tesco shop, because it's a good antioxidant. Split personality!

DH and I have discussed possibilities for if I'm made redundant at the end of the year. It's a definite possibility seeing as though there's a strategic review. We could just about manage on his salary with some dipping into savings for mortgage if needed. If I'm pregnant how would I get another job, and if we're still ttc I wouldn't be eligible for occupational maternity pay for 12 months anyway. I imagine they'll be a lot of people looking for new jobs by then too. No wonder we're so stressed 😬

camha · 19/06/2020 16:54

I'm exactly the same @CurbsideProphet. I just have a 'feeling' something isn't right and that it's going to take us a while, but then I also had pomegranate juice and Brazil nuts with my lunch today 🤷🏽‍♀️
I'm hoping I'll feel more relaxed after my appointment on Tuesday. DH also said today, out of the blue, that if we're not pregnant this month he's going to call his GP. He's got a couple of autoimmune conditions and is on a lot of medication, so I don't know if they might be able to do something earlier than 12 months.

The possibility of redundancy must be so stressful. But surely if you're pregnant by then it makes it a lot harder for them to actually make you redundant? Fingers crossed though it won't come to that! My work don't offer occupational maternity pay so I'll only get statutory, which stresses me out a bit. How on earth does anyone live on that.. 🤷🏽‍♀️ we're currently renting in London as well so it will be a struggle for sure.

CurbsideProphet · 20/06/2020 23:26

@camha at least on Tues you'll get to have a proper chat with an expert. I bet you'll come away feeling reassured regardless, as it's better than just worrying away at home for months on end. I checked and I have Simply Health level 2, so from memory I think it said I would be able to claim back £200 in consultant fees.

I'm 9 dpo and have my now normal nausea, indigestion, and bloating. My digestive system is unhappy too. Essentially all of the symptoms that could go either way. I think I'm not pregnant. I just have that feeling.

We had a lovely morning with my sibling and their children running about. I ended up sunburnt in my front even though this is the North and there was only sun for the last 30 mins we were out 🤦🏻‍♀️

camha · 21/06/2020 16:59

@CurbsideProphet yeah I think it'll be reassuring either way! That's good news about your Simply Health, every little helps!

Sorry to hear about your symptoms ☹️ you're right though, it could go either way. I'm crossing my fingers for you!

I'm 3dpo today, my boobs are a bit sore as per usual but otherwise feeling fine. I'm feeling a bit different this cycle, a bit calmer and dare I say optimistic... Not sure why, usually I'm sad and deflated from 1dpo 🤷🏽‍♀️ I'm hoping it stays like this, the low tww mood is exhausting..

How are you doing @MGee123 ?

CurbsideProphet · 21/06/2020 17:42

@camha my DH wants to keep try until it's been 12 months and wait for NHS referral.
I've got a tiny bit of light brown discharge today, so I'm full expecting AF this week. I'll be honest I had a little cry this afternoon. I'm very tired from life in general anyway and I imagine I'm getting all hormonal now.
🤞🏻For you, keep that opminism 🙂
