Our other thread is getting quite long and I know they stop at 1,000 comments so thought I’d make a new one for us .
I am so sorry if I’ve missed anyone , just going by usernames I remember off the top of my head !
I’m currently 5 weeks pregnant (miscalculated and thought I was only 4+3). Going for an 8 week scan (I’ll be almost 9 weeks) on 25th Jan.
but I am really enjoying joining you on your journeys on TTC and you’ve all been amazing so I didn’t want to just say goodbye to the thread .
Please come on in if you’re new here , and join everyone on their journeys . I feel like we’ve been chatting forever but it’s only been a couple of months. What a roller coaster it’s been!

Anyway, as we were!

Sorry to hear about AF @camha 😢 onwards and upwards indeed. Hope AF settles soon and you can get on with cycle 8.

I don't take a multivitamin. Just B12 and Ubiquinol at the moment. I have stopped vitamin D for the summer as I'm outside a lot! I have an appointment with my GP tomorrow so hoping I can stop my iron tablets 🤞

I'm on CD 13 and have had 5 days of flashing smileys. I've been doing the temping daily but nothing seems to be happening really, just small fluctuations 🤷‍♀️

I have been caffeine free for the past 2 cycles and have only had 1 bottle of wine during last AF! My OH doesn't drink but does cycle a lot - I'm trying to encourage him to keep 'down there' cool!!

camha · 04/06/2020 10:57

@CurbsideProphet @MGee123 thanks both. I've just called the hospital and they've opened for routine blood tests again, so at least I can get my bloods taken.

I'm really not sure what to do about the multivitamin, I might just continue on Pregnacare. It's the most popular one in the UK and so many women get pregnant taking it, so surely I can't be that bad 🤷🏽‍♀️ I'm also taking CoQ10, additional folate and omega 3, and I'm going to get some Vit D as well.

I'm also caffeine free, and don't really drink alcohol, neither does DH. I get what you're saying about keeping cool 'down there' @MGee123, I keep telling him to wear loose underwear 😂

MGee123 · 05/06/2020 18:08

That's good news about your bloods @camha! And yes I think your thoughts about the multi-vitamin sounds logical!

I spoke with my GP yesterday - he was very nice and I need to go back for a blood test to recheck my iron levels. I spoke with him about TTC and he was very kind but confirmed they won't do anything until it's been 12 months.

However, on the up side I got a static smiley today! CD 15 so a bit earlier than last month. And I think I'm a convert to the temping as I had a clear dip this morning which you free t before ovulation. Hoping tomorrow or sun will show a sharp increase which should confirm ovulation (I think!) 🤞

We're going to DTD daily the next few days and hope for the best. Then I will be in the TWW! I am so relieved there are positive signs I'm ovulating. I was worried last month was just a sympathetic static smiley after 8 flashing 🤣

camha · 05/06/2020 20:57

@MGee123 nice to hear your GP is nice, and that you got your static smiley and that the temping is working! I've actually just ordered a thermometer, it should arrive by Sunday so I'll start temping too.

I'm on cd3, miserable physically as I get really bad cramps, but I feel a lot better mentally. I've been feeling really down this tww, more so than usual, so it's nice to feel a bit 'lighter' and more positive.

MGee123 · 06/06/2020 21:15

Hope things are settling down @camha? Sorry AF is giving you a rough ride. Glad you're feeling a bit better mentally though. Will be interested to see how you find temping! The main thing I'm struggling with is taking it around the same time - I am usually up around 5.30 on week days but prefer not to be up that early on days off!! I have been finding I've been waking myself up early every day (probably because I'm worried about doing it) and am becoming rather tired!

I think I ovulated today so am hoping I might see a temp spike tomorrow. We
DTD yesterday and today, and will again tomorrow. And every other day before that. Hoping we've covered all bases!!

CurbsideProphet · 06/06/2020 22:11

@camha I got myself in such a tiz over looking at pregnancy and conception vitamins online and trying to pick one 🤦🏻‍♀️ I hope you're feeling ok today? I've struggled too with feeling low. I'm glad you feel lifted out of it a bit.

@MGee123 I'm so pleased for your static smiley! I should ovulate this Wednesday. Would It Starts With The Egg recommend dtd Tues, Weds, and Thurs? I'll be nudging DH tonight as well too I think.
I remember reading on mumsnet something from Robert Winston about couples not actually dtd enough at the right time when ttc. I wonder if that might be the case for me in my early March cycle, so that's made me feel a bit better like this is cycle 8 now but might really be cycle 7 🤔

camha · 06/06/2020 22:21

@MGee123 yes definitely settling down, cramps haven't been too bad today.
I got my bloods taken yesterday, so should have results next week. Not sure what to hope for though, if bloods are normal I imagine they'll need to run other tests, but we'll see 🤷🏽‍♀️

I'm looking forward to trying temping, but as you say I think I will struggle to do it at the same time every morning, weekdays are fine but I like sleeping in on the weekend 😅 (we have to do it whilst we still can!!) I suppose I'll just have to set an alarm and hopefully be able to go back to sleep.

It'll be interesting to see if you get a temp spike! I imagine it'll feel quite reassuring, I'm not sure of the statistics but if I've understood it correctly, a temp spike is a pretty certain indicator ovulation has occurred. It sounds like you've done what you can in terms of DTD, fingers crossed for you 🤞🏼

How are you doing @CurbsideProphet ?

camha · 06/06/2020 22:25

@CurbsideProphet sorry I didn't see your message before sending mine! The vitamins/supplement stuff is such a minefield, isn't it... I ended up ordering Cytoplan Pregnaplan, it's supposed to be good 🤷🏽‍♀️ I also ordered a multivitamin for DH and Vit D for us both.

I get what you say about DTD at the right time, it can be difficult to know. I'm hoping temping combined with OPKs will help with that 🤞🏼

CurbsideProphet · 09/06/2020 08:46

Well we've made it through Monday and into Tuesday! Cycle day 10 for me, so DH has already been told there will be an early night tonight and tomorrow and Thursday 😀

MGee123 · 09/06/2020 19:20

My week started Sunday and I'm ready for it to be Friday already! Hope you have a good few early nights @CurbsideProphet 😂 we're relieved to be out of the fertile window and are taking a break!!

I'm CD 19 today. Currently just hoping to get past CD 24 to have a more normal length period 🤞 My temperature has gone up a bit and seems to be staying up, but hasn't increased as much as it says it should online. Who knows 🤷‍♀️

I've been trying to convince my husband to take a multi vitamin but with no joy!

camha · 09/06/2020 20:17

I'm also very ready for Friday already. I'm CD7 today, trying to get the hang of temping. I'm glad to hear it's working for you @MGee123, how much is it meant to rise after ovulation and how much has it increased for you?

Enjoy your early nights @CurbsideProphet 😉 I'm not expecting to ovulate for another 10 days or so, so we'll probably hold off for another few days.

hopefulhel · 09/06/2020 21:19

Hi ladies apologies for the lack of contact lately I took a break from mumsnet for a while, have been tipping in and out to see how you've all been getting on. Still no update my end. Was due af yesterday but no sign yet. Did a test this morning and bfn. I had a bad weekend everything just got on top of me and I just felt like throwing in the towel. Birthday is coming up (37) and feeling like I left ttc too long and that it's never gonna happen. I had an ectopic around this time last year, well the 19th so emotions are high because I really thought I would be pregnant by now

CurbsideProphet · 09/06/2020 22:40

@hopefulhel it's lovely to see you, but I'm so very sorry you've not had your bfp yet and that it's coming up to the time of your ectopic 💐 It's just awful to see AF and feel another month further away from having a baby. Have you spoken to your GP?

hopefulhel · 09/06/2020 23:41

I haven't been in with my GP since last time. She had mentioned coming in for bloods on day 3 and 21 of my next cycle but they fell at the weekend. The next cycle was in the middle of lock down and it seems to be emergency cases as such now. I am gonna try again next month and then I'll go get tested either publically or privately. I'm very close to giving up its not good for my mental health. I was very upset on Saturday, just hit me that it had been nearly a year and still the ttc journey continues.

CurbsideProphet · 10/06/2020 14:02

That sounds just so difficult. Perhaps ring for a telephone GP appointment and talk to her about it. You might find she is able to arrange those bloods for you and even look at a referral?

I think ttc and the mental toll is something that just isn't talked about. I still find it very sad to think about my chemical pregnancies and what could have been. I feel that at first we were as ready as we could be and in the "excited about the future" phase, but as the cycles go by the excitement starts to become replaced by worry.

MGee123 · 11/06/2020 05:59

So sorry @hopefulhel. Keeping fingers crossed for you going forwards. The mental toll can be exhausting can't it? I have good days and bad days with it. Perhaps you could do with a break for a little while? I have also found I am feeling less and less excited by the prospect, and more worried. I keep having this anxiety that if I finally do get pregnant, I'm really not sure I can do another 10 months TTC if I were to have a miscarriage! It's such a tough journey, thinking of you.

My BBT has continued to increase to 36.8/9 C which is in the region of what it should do now, so I am feeling quite positive that I've ovulated! 5 dpo today, trying to forget about it and just get on with life! No AF so far though so hoping I at least manage a more decent length cycle this month (CD 21 today).

hopefulhel · 11/06/2020 06:55

AF arrived last night. I have some clearblue opks left enough for one month I'll use them next month then that's it I won't be using them again. I'll give it another month or two of ttc and then organise fertility testing when things calm down with covid19.

camha · 11/06/2020 08:15

@hopefulhel lovely to hear from you, but so sorry you've had a difficult time and that AF arrived. It's such a blow, isn't it. I've also had some really rubbish days recently, I don't think anything can prepare you for how incredibly difficult TTC really is. As @CurbsideProphet says, the mental toll just isn't talked about.

@MGee123 I'm so happy to hear temping is working for you and that your temp has increased, and also that there's no sign of AF yet. Fingers crossed she stays away!
I'm on CD9, day 4 of temping and day 1 of OPKs. I'm still trying to get the hang of temping, my temp has gone up and down a bit and my temps have been 36.45, 36.38, 36.53, 36.45 - is it normal for them to vary like that do you know? I'm also struggling to do it at the same time as I sometimes wake up earlier than my alarm, only in the range of about 30 mins, but then I get unsure whether it's more important to do it at the exact same time, or after 3hrs continuous sleep 🤷🏽‍♀️

CurbsideProphet · 11/06/2020 08:33

@hopefulhel that sounds like a really sensible plan.

@MGee123 I have the same fears.
I don't know anything about temping, but that sounds like it's going in the right direction!

@camha cd 12 here. I think I should ovulate today. I keep considering temping, but I think I would struggle with it!

CurbsideProphet · 12/06/2020 09:43

Morning all 👋🏻
I saw my GP today and my cervix apparently looks perfect, no ectropian cells like I feared. She said I just have to keep trying now and go back in October if there's still no joy. I told her I was considering going private to have some tests done, but she said the wait times for gynaecology here are actually very good. So if she needed to refer me in October she thinks I would be seen by Christmas. Mentally I can't think about still ttc in 6 months time 😔

On the plus side DH seems to have finally (😀) got his head around the concept of my fertile week. Always got to try to see the speck of light in the clouds!

camha · 12/06/2020 14:18

@CurbsideProphet good to hear everything looks fine, and that waiting times aren't long. Though I definitely get what you're saying about not being able to think about still tcc'ing 6 months from now...
Your GP sounds really good. I was left in tears by mine after a telephone appointment today... 🤷🏽‍♀️ my blood results have all come back fine, which is good news. But when I asked her about next steps, she basically fobbed me off and said bloods were fine so there's nothing wrong with me and that my spotting is normal. I refuse to believe it's normal to spot up to 10 days before AF, and if it was, why did she send me for blood tests in the first place?? When I mentioned my other symptoms and asked whether it's possible to be referred to gynaecology, she just told me no. She was so rude. It's left me feeling so deflated, I really don't know what to do.

MGee123 · 12/06/2020 20:15

Oh @camha I'm so sorry, it doesn't sound like she was being very sensitive or helpful. At least giving you a bit more explanation and reassurance would have helped. The spotting does sound a bit odd - have you always experienced this? 6 months feels like forever doesn't it 😢 I know it's easier said than done but perhaps try to take it one day at a time? I've tried to really shut down the silly narrative I create in my head re due dates each month, when i would tell my husband, how we would plan our lives if I got pregnant this month. I've been managing a bit better this month so far but know he tough time for me is coming up!

Glad you had more positive feedback @CurbsideProphet👍 hang in there and keep DTD! Glad your OH is on board with the fertile week! Have you ovulated yet?

My temperature had risen quite nicely but dropped this morning, waiting to see what happens over next few days as to whether it rises again. No AF today though so at least this cycle will be longer than last!

CurbsideProphet · 12/06/2020 20:40

@camha that doesn't sound helpful at all. You must be spotting or bleeding for 15 days a month? That doesn't seem right and must be miserable 😔 I would write down how many days of spotting each month, how many days of AF, and any other symptoms. Then ring back on Monday and ask to speak to another GP. When I had ectropian cells on my cervix I was spotting constantly. They're nothing to worry about at all, but at least I knew what they were.

@MGee123 I had EWCM Tues-Thurs (days 10-12) and it's gone thick and cloudy today (sorry TMI), so I think that means I ovulated yesterday? This cycle so far we've dtd day 7, 10 (twice 😯😀), 11, 12. DH keeps saying he's tired, so might need to have a day off today, then dtd again tomorrow day 14. Hopefully that's enough?

MGee123 · 13/06/2020 11:50

Sorry @camha , didn't reply to your comment about temping. Mine vary a bit too, I think that is to be expected? I'm not sure about the 3 hr vs same time thing - I'm lucky that I sleep quite well so don't tend to wake up. My times do vary a bit though by 30 - 60 mins 🤷‍♀️

MGee123 · 13/06/2020 11:50

@CurbsideProphet sounds enough! 🤞 We DTD twice one one day last cycle for about the first time in 6 years 🤣 have a good rest!
