Our other thread is getting quite long and I know they stop at 1,000 comments so thought I’d make a new one for us .
I am so sorry if I’ve missed anyone , just going by usernames I remember off the top of my head !
I’m currently 5 weeks pregnant (miscalculated and thought I was only 4+3). Going for an 8 week scan (I’ll be almost 9 weeks) on 25th Jan.
but I am really enjoying joining you on your journeys on TTC and you’ve all been amazing so I didn’t want to just say goodbye to the thread .
Please come on in if you’re new here , and join everyone on their journeys . I feel like we’ve been chatting forever but it’s only been a couple of months. What a roller coaster it’s been!

Anyway, as we were!

@Maddy0405 your friend was quite harsh. Hope you're ok. She likely meant it in a helpful way? I don't think people understand how it feels when you're ttc and constantly waiting and worrying.

Thank you all. I'll be ok. We're off work for a week now and going away for a few nights to the Lakes. The views will be food for the soul Smile

MGee123 · 01/03/2020 12:25

I can see why that upset you @Maddy0405 , although I'm sure she didn't mean to. I'm not sure it's entirely true that if you're having a period, you are definitely ovulating. I am fairly certain I've not been ovulating (no signs at all in 6 months other than a one off episode of EWCM last month, and no positive OPKs) but I've been having periods. I think if you have regular periods it's likely you're ovulating, but if they are irregular you may not be (from what I've read anyway).

I would chat with your own GP and see what they say. I was surprised with how understanding and pro-active mine seemed to be (I didn't think they would give me even a blood test at this point!). Although I know GP responses can be a lottery, it's worth trying? I would avoid buying medications online, you never know what might be in there 😬

Enjoy your break away @CurbsideProphet, it sounds lovely and just what you need I expect 😊

MGee123 · 01/03/2020 12:27

How's your TWW @hopefulhel ? How many dpo are you? I'm due AF next weekend so just counting the days down really. I'm certain nothing has happened this month, but am hoping next month might be more positive now I'm taking my iron tablets. They are making me quite sick though - I'm having to eat all the time so am going to have to start running more!!

hopefulhel · 01/03/2020 13:06

@MGee123 I am around 5Dpo. I seem to ovulate late around cd19/20 of what has in the past two months become a 29 day cycle. Was always previously 32/33 day cycle. Due af around March 6

xoJellyBean · 01/03/2020 17:17

Sorry I keep jumping in and out. Is anyone taking folic acid? I've been taking it the last month roughly so hopefully it helps... I think I'm ovulating soon (not texting though) and of course my DH is sick!! Lol

xoJellyBean · 01/03/2020 17:17

Sorry I meant *testing

hopefulhel · 01/03/2020 17:58

Taking folic acid and proceive max since last October.

CurbsideProphet · 01/03/2020 18:18

@xoJellyBean I have folic acid on prescription because of medication that I take which can cause fetal abnormalities. I'm not taking any other supplements.

hopefulhel · 01/03/2020 21:33

AF due in 4 or 5 days and not feeling too hopeful this month.

notalwaysalondoner · 02/03/2020 11:15

@CurbsideProphet your break sounds lovely, enjoy!

@Maddy0405 sounds like your friend is a typical matter of fact GP who sees so many sick people they don’t necessarily think about how the facts can still upset the people they affect.

@xoJellyBean you are recommended to take folic acid from before TTC due to it helping to prevent neural tube defects like spina bifida. If you only start taking it after you know you are pregnant it can already be too late. I’ve been taking it since September as part of my pregnacare conception vitamins.

Well I am a day late for AF (based on my max normal cycle length of 27 days) so took a pregnancy test this morning and it was a BFN. Husband and I pretty disappointed as this was the first month I’d been late. But then I know I ovulated a bit later this month so maybe makes sense for AF to be a bit later. Kind of wish I’d waited until AF was 3-4 days late as a negative pregnancy test is somehow much more upsetting than just getting AF. I’ve just finished “It starts with the egg” and going to get some higher dose vitamin C,D and E this month and continue taking coenzyme q10 (ubiquinol). It’s expensive but has some pretty convincing studies. I’m also going to put DH on those vitamins plus fish oil. So gutted. The only plus side is I’m skiing in two weeks so at least I don’t need to worry about hurting the baby...

MGee123 · 02/03/2020 21:25

I have been taking folic acid since August and already took B12. Ive now added in vit D as, to be honest we should all be taking it anyway and some studies have shown that low vit D can affect fertility I think. I would definitely start folic acid if nothing else.

Sorry to hear about the BFN @notalwaysalondoner. The lack of line is quite vicious. If ovulation was late though I'm sure you could expect AF to arrive later so perhaps things are still ticking along? Have you noticed any changes to your usual PMS symptoms?

Skiing sound like a great distraction and I'm sure will do you good 😊

CurbsideProphet · 02/03/2020 22:01

It's definitely good to get away to views like this (hopefully photo will upload).

Oh notalwaysalondoner the bfn is gutting. Hope you're ok. At least you have a holiday coming up.

@MGee123 I had critically low vit D in 2017. I'm almost hoping my blood test will show my levels are low again, as that would make me feel like there's a reason I've not been successfully pregnant yet.

hopefulhel · 03/03/2020 09:23

Think af is on its way. Have all the usual signs.

notalwaysalondoner · 03/03/2020 10:23

Still no AF here which is weird - longest cycle I’ve had in years. I don’t feel any different to normal - slightly sore boobs which I often get before AF although they’ve been a bit sore for a week now which is unusual. Guess my cycle is just extended.

I need to order some vitamin D, thanks for reminding me.

@CurbsideProphet that’s stunning, I love the Lakes. We were supposed to go to Brecon last weekend but the forecast was so terrible we didn’t go in the end. Are you hiking?

@hopefulhel hopefully it’s not AF, but I know it’s tough when all the symptoms are there. I hate the rollercoaster of “it’s definitely af coming” to “maybe it’s just pregnancy symptoms that are similar to pms”. Stupid angel/devil, up and down feelings!

hopefulhel · 03/03/2020 14:36

I think all the signs are pointing towards AF. Sore boobs which starts around this time in my cycle every month. Currently cd27, af due usually around cd29/30 anywhere up to cd32/33 but lately around cd29/30

MGee123 · 03/03/2020 20:23

@CurbsideProphet yes that's kind of how I felt with my blood test results - at least the low iron might have been causing the problem! Your holiday looks beautiful. The lakes are so stunning.

@notalwaysalondoner that's odd, what day are you on now? Perhaps leave it a fewer days and test again? 🤞 for you.

@hopefulhel hope it stays away. I really don't enjoy the few days running up to AF due. So easy to over analyse every little thing. I'm due AF Sat or Sun and normally get sore boobs for 7 days or so before, but nothing yet. I wonder if the iron tablets will affect my cycle though so am just going to wait and see. I'm certain nothings happened this month so just hoping AF arrives soon!

hopefulhel · 03/03/2020 21:19

Oh yeah all the symptoms of af. Seriously considering taking a month or two off ttc.

xoJellyBean · 03/03/2020 21:56

That view is gorgeous @CurbsideProphet is it Scotland by any chance?

CurbsideProphet · 03/03/2020 22:13

@xoJellyBean Lake District 🙂 I love it. We should go more considering it doesn't take us that long to get there. We're in the Yorkshire Dales now. We should come here more often too.

@hopefulhel maybe that would be a good idea? Just take a month or so to focus on each other and spend time (when you aren't in work) doing nice things like going out for tea, a night away, cooking new things, little day trips? My DH was instrumental in us going away for a few nights this week to get a change of scene and have some quality time together. It has helped.

@notalwaysalondoner we had a good walk yesterday. 7 miles feels enough for me! The weather has been so awful recently we were very lucky it was relatively dry and it wasn't too muddy or windy.

hopefulhel · 04/03/2020 20:05

Yeah if I got pregnant next month, it would be a December due date. So might take a break for a month or two. Just chill out and stop worrying about it. We've a break away booked in April so will enjoy that and start trying again.

notalwaysalondoner · 05/03/2020 10:39

AF started yesterday. Even though I had a BFN a tiny bit of me was hoping it was a false negative (silly, I know) as I have only had 1 30 day cycle in the last two years. Oh well, looking forward to skiing now and bought a load of vitamins so at least I feel something is in my control.

Hopefully being on holiday will help the magic happen...!

I hate AF - just adds insult to injury that not only am I not pregnant but that I have period pain.

Maddy0405 · 05/03/2020 11:08

I’m feeling really down about trying to conceive. We’ve got a pretty stressful time at the moment with moving and some other work related stress things which I know doesn’t help. I’m having another reflexology session tomorrow which I’m looking forward to.

We haven’t really been dtd that much either due to shift work etc then last night there was a bit of a performance issue on my husbands part 😳 a bit annoying as I feel like I might be ovulating as I had a bit of one sided pain and more discharge than usual yesterday!

I feel like I was as relaxed as I possibly could have been while we were away and it didn’t happen then so I hardly think we are going to conceive while we’ve got things going on. My husband doesn’t seem that stressed but after last night it would appear he probably is quite stressed!!

MGee123 · 05/03/2020 18:06

Sorry to hear about AF @notalwaysalondoner 😢 I feel the same as you with BFNs and end up convincing myself I might still be pregnant. AF arriving is such a blow. Sounds like skiing is well timed to give you a break and a bit of distraction. Hope you're not going to northern Italy?!?!

@Maddy0405 it's understandable you're stressed, it sounds like you've got a lot going on. I'm feeling really overwhelmed at the moment as well - work is really stressful and this TTC lark is taking up so much of my headspace. Do you manage to talk quite openly with your OH about these sorts of things? It sounds like he might be a bit stressed too but perhaps isn't wanting to worry you. I'm sure it will happen soon for you, try and keep the faith!

The reflexology sounds lovely - I might try to book a session at the weekend. I feel like I need some TLC at the moment to be honest. My OH doesn't like talking about it much (he struggles with anxiety) so I feel quite lonely at times.

Feeling for you all this evening, this is such a rocky ride. One day I'm okay and the next I feel awful. Hoping there is light at the end of the tunnel somewhere!

CurbsideProphet · 05/03/2020 19:45

@hopefulhel maybe focus on your trip away in April and then reset and reassess once you've had that break?

I'm sorry @notalwaysalondoner it's definitely not silly to have that hope. Like hopeful it's good that you're going away and having a distraction. We were only away for 4 days and it really helped me.

@Maddy0405 I hope the reflexology helps you to relax. Shift work must be tricky to manage. It's so difficult knowing that there are only a few days every month when we can conceive. I feel that same internal annoyance if DH is tired...

@MGee123 I know how you feel about the rocky ride. I'm very up and down myself. I'm the one who has anxiety in my relationship. My DH wants us to have a baby, but equally he is very sure that we will and we just have to be patient.

hopefulhel · 05/03/2020 21:16

First signs of af just arrived so I am out this month. Hope there are some bfp this month for the rest of you
