Our other thread is getting quite long and I know they stop at 1,000 comments so thought I’d make a new one for us .
I am so sorry if I’ve missed anyone , just going by usernames I remember off the top of my head !
I’m currently 5 weeks pregnant (miscalculated and thought I was only 4+3). Going for an 8 week scan (I’ll be almost 9 weeks) on 25th Jan.
but I am really enjoying joining you on your journeys on TTC and you’ve all been amazing so I didn’t want to just say goodbye to the thread .
Please come on in if you’re new here , and join everyone on their journeys . I feel like we’ve been chatting forever but it’s only been a couple of months. What a roller coaster it’s been!

Anyway, as we were!

@MGee123 you’re so lovely you always know the right things to say! We can talk openly about most things but if I talk about ttc he will shut it down usually by saying something like it’ll happen soon and then the subject gets changed.

@CurbsideProphet looking forward to my reflexology although it was quite painful last time! It should be nice just to have some me time though.

camha · 06/03/2020 08:37

@hopefulhel sorry to hear that. What are the signs? Are you still considering taking a break for a month or two?

@notalwaysalondoner sorry to hear AF arrived. I agree, AF definitely adds insult to injury... Enjoy your break!

@Maddy0405 @CurbsideProphet I'm considering trying reflexology too, is it any good? What exactly does it do?

I'm currently on cd25 (10dpo), I have one normal AF symptom but also a couple of 'new' ones, so I have no idea what to expect this month... My boobs have been very sore since cd20, which is normal for me.. Though I don't have any cramps or brown-ish CM/spotting, which I normally get on and off from about cd18-20.... I did have the tiniest bit of pink CM on the tissue this morning though. And I also need to pee all the time, I'm up at least twice during the night, which is not normal for me... I go from convincing myself I'm pregnant to convincing myself I'm not several times a day, I'm driving myself mad with this TTC malarkey...

I'm currently away from DH as well, my gran sadly passed away so I've travelled home to my family.. I won't be back until Thursday (AF is due on Monday), so won't be testing until then anyway as I want to be with him when I do. Though if AF doesn't arrive I have no idea where to get the patience to wait that long!!

hopefulhel · 06/03/2020 08:46

@camha yeah I think I will take a break. My head needs a break from it all. Saying that that'll prob last a week. Signs I knew af was coming was very sore boobs and back pain. I had an ectopic last June and since that my periods have become more painful and the signs are more predictable.

Maddy0405 · 06/03/2020 09:49

@camha sorry to hear about your gran. Sending you lots of love.

I’ve only been for one reflexology session and it wasn’t very long as they go through a big health questionnaire with you before they do anything. It started off like a foot massage but they pinpoint areas on your feet which highlight any area of concern on the rest of your body. I carry a lot of tension in my shoulders and she picked that up straight away. Different parts of your feet represent different parts of your body so the bits on my feet which represented my shoulders - when she was poking my feet around it was actually quite painful! I’m not sure yet whether it will make any difference to anything but it’s quite nice... I think 😂

notalwaysalondoner · 06/03/2020 15:10

@camha I know what you mean with the “flipflopping” between “Maybe I’m pregnant!!!! Yayyy we can decorate the nursery and how will I tell my DH and what will we call it and....” to “oh I’m definitely not pregnant and I’ll never have a baby and what if IVF doesn’t work and I wonder if my sister will be a surrogate...” It’s exhausting.

One of my good friends is due in April and I’m trying to decide whether to visit after (she lives in Germany). I know that I should but part of me is worried that it will just be devastating to be that near a newborn for several days, especially when this friend vehemently didn’t want children until about a year ago.

camha · 06/03/2020 19:12

@hopefulhel that sounds like a sensible idea. Sometimes it's good to just focus on something else for a while.

@Maddy0405 thank you, she was an old lady at 93 years old and it was expected, but it's obviously still devastating.
I'm definitely going to look into reflexology, I carry a lot of tension around my shoulders and neck too so it would be amazing if it worked!

@notalwaysalondoner It's crazy, isn't it. The mind goes from one extreme to the next in a matter of seconds...
My best friend is due in April too, it's her second though and she's had lots of problems conceiving both this one and the first one, but still being around babies, particularly newborns, can be so heartbreaking... saying that though I saw my cousin the other day, he's 1, and it was actually quite comforting, I thought one way or the other I know my time will come and just the thought of that made me feel a bit better xx

MGee123 · 06/03/2020 21:41

Sorry to hear about the AF arrival for several of you. Always disappointing regardless and @notalwaysalondoner you captured perfectly my emotional rollercoaster from 'what name should we call the baby' to 'how much does it cost to adopt a child' 🤦‍♀️

@camha so sorry about your gran. Losing someone is never easy no matter how old they are.

I've spoken with a reflexologist and am going to book in for an appt. I'm not really an alternative therapies kind of person but don't find massages that relaxing and would like some TLC! So think I will give it a go. I think it is about rebalancing the energy in the body by connecting through the feet 🤷‍♀️ can't do any harm?!

I'm due AF tomorrow and haven't had my usual 7 days of sore boobs but back ache has started today so pretty sure it's coming. I was pretty much certain nothing had happened this month but couldn't stop myself hoping. However I went for dinner with a friend tonight who is pregnant but had been TTC for a while. She is the first person I've spoken to about it and it has really helped me feel less lonely, and like I'm not completely crazy! Hearing face to face that someone else has felt how I feel was so reassuring (even though I know you all get it too!)

CurbsideProphet · 07/03/2020 07:55

I'm sorry about your grandma @camha it's still hard even when you know it's coming.
🤞🏻AF stays away.

I'm nodding in agreement to the swinging from "I'm definitely pregnant" to "I'll never get pregnant and we'll have to reassess our entire lives".

I really enjoyed my reflexology session, but I've struggled to book another. She won't see me if I'm possibly pregnant (out of concern for my now 2 chemical pregnancies), but she has very limited evening slots and I only have 2 weeks a month when I know I'm definitely not pregnant. There's another woman near me who is a specialist in fertility reflexology (I don't know if that's a real thing!), so I might try her.

MGee123 · 07/03/2020 21:14

I've got a reflexology session booked for Wednesday, looking forward to it!

I've had awful backache all day so am certain AF will appear tomorrow (CD 25). Looking forward to getting it over and done with so we can get on to the next cycle!

Hope you all have some nice plans for this weekend 😊

Thanks @itsemily - how is your pregnancy going?

GaaaaarlicBread · 09/03/2020 15:48

@notalwaysalondoner I feel bad updating you when you’re all having a rough time . But all is good thank you, I’m 15 weeks 2 days, baby doing really well x

CurbsideProphet · 09/03/2020 18:35

I'm glad you're well @itsemily 💐

GaaaaarlicBread · 09/03/2020 18:36

@curbside thank you, how are you ? X

OP posts:
MGee123 · 09/03/2020 21:26

Glad you're well @itsemily - it's lovely to hear your update 😊

I'm now 2 days late for AF with no obvious signs of it appearing 🤷‍♀️ I was sure I was going to come on over the weekend after having usual lower back ache at the end of last week. I took a pregnancy test this morning which was a BFN. I'm assuming it's the impact of my iron tablets but am a little frustrated! I was fully prepared for AF and am rather wishing it would just hurry up!!

notalwaysalondoner · 10/03/2020 13:31

@itsemily that’s great to hear! Glad everything is going well!

@MGee123 that’s exactly what happened to me last month - being late and getting a BFN is so upsetting. I don’t normally test unless I’m at least CD28 (my cycles normally 24-27 days) so I really got my hopes up this time.

This month we’re away in Canada so I’m leaving my OPKs at home and we’re just going to DTD every 2-3 days and hope for the best....

camha · 10/03/2020 16:58

AF arrived today, 1 day late and on the day of my grans funeral ☹️ thanks body... I'm so gutted and feel so deflated.

MGee123 · 10/03/2020 19:07

So sorry @camha - you could really have done without it today 😢 hope your gran's funeral went as well as these things can?

My AF arrived today too - glad in some ways to be getting on with the next cycle. And that I can have my reflexology appt tomorrow without feeling worried! I am hoping this month might bring more joy now that I have been taking my iron tablets a few weeks. I think I am going to order some OPKs and start testing again. I wonder if all the negative ones I had been cursing may have been right as low iron can cause anovulation! Keeping fingers crossed for cycle 8 🤞

Canada sounds like a well timed break @notalwaysalondoner. It might be easier to switch off a bit when you are out of the country perhaps? Is it a holiday?

CurbsideProphet · 10/03/2020 19:23

I'm sorry @camha 💐💐

CurbsideProphet · 10/03/2020 19:26

I'm ok thank you @itsemily 💐 2 chemical pregnancies down now in only 3 months of trying, but I've actually taken heart from women telling me about similar experiences and then going on to have a successful pregnancy.

camha · 10/03/2020 20:51

Thank you @MGee123 , it was both beautiful and heartbreaking.. x
I think I'm going to start using OPKs too this month, I can always tell when I'm ovulating but will be interesting to see if I'm right!

@CurbsideProphet thank you! x

@notalwaysalondoner where abouts in Canada are you? I went a few weeks ago! Such as beautiful country.

notalwaysalondoner · 11/03/2020 12:28

I’m sorry @camha and @MGee123. So disappointing when it arrives....

I’m going to the west coast - my SIL lives in Vancouver and my husband also has cousins on Vancouver island. We’re going to spend two days in Vancouver, two days in Victoria then seven days skiing in whistler - we have friends who live near there so don’t need to pay for accommodation which is nice. Skiing in Canada is much more expensive than in Europe even without the flights, so don’t think we would have gone if we’d needed to stay in a hotel. Leaving this afternoon!

CurbsideProphet · 12/03/2020 11:12

Hope you have a great time @notalwaysalondoner - wish I had friends in Canada 😀

I'm plodding through the 2 week wait. This must be day 20.

camha · 12/03/2020 11:58

@notalwaysalondoner that sounds really nice, have a lovely time!

@CurbsideProphet fingers crossed for you 🤞🏼

Maddy0405 · 13/03/2020 10:10

I’m feeling absolutely miserable lately. In a real slump.

Work has been a nightmare with all this coronavirus business. We are moving house in three weeks and I literally have no time to do anything as we have two weekends coming up where we will be visiting family so they’re written off in terms of packing for the move or getting any of the usual stuff you want to do (housework etc).

I’ve also just finished a university module for my masters so it’s been a pretty stressful time!

To top off that lot my husband and I haven’t been getting on particularly well. Keep bickering etc. Not exactly putting me in the mood for baby making.

And someone at work is now pregnant who has been trying about the same amount of time as I have so I think that was probably the cherry on the top.

Sorry for a long and moany post! @notalwaysalondoner have a fab holiday! Sorry about all the AFs which have arrived and good luck for those on 2ww.

Also, to finish off with a bit more moaning, my GP surgery still haven’t got my results of my scan I had three weeks ago to confirm PCOS or not so that’s irritating!!!
