Feel like everywhere I look people are getting BFPs which is great but I’m starting to worry a bit. We’ve been trying since June and have had nothing yet. OH had sperm tests last year as part of something else and all came back fine. I’m 28 and he’s 41 so age hopefully shouldn’t be a problem.
Please could people share some positive 6 month+ ttc stories to cheer me up and stop me stressing as I know that won’t help all this either.
Also if anyone else is in the same situation and wants to chat that would be lovely.

Had my ultrasound this afternoon and they said my ovaries look fine so that’s good! Now just waiting for ovulation this cycle and the onto the TWW! We’re just trying to DTD every 2-3 days this cycle and hopefully OH will have some good swimmers!

Thats great news. Im glad it all looked good and will give you peace of mind. Ive just had pink tinged CM on wiping 😬😬 i thought I saw two specks on wiping this afternoon but really wasnt sure. I dont want to get too excited thats its implantation bleeding and then come straight back to earth with a bump. I did have pain last night but it was after yoga and assumed it was that. I spot before my period but its never this early and not this colour x

Makeafamily19 · 23/01/2020 23:01

@Trying2019 yeah I've started Pilates and back on the diet/healthy eating. I'm also trying to switch to chemical free products as a lot of chemicals can interfere with hormones. I figure this is good for my general health anyway and at least I'm doing something. We also booked a holiday to Cornwall next month.
Fingers crossed it is IB for you! If it is then you should be able to test in a few days, when's AF due?

@Banoffeepie91 that's great news that the ultrasound was clear. Have you got anymore tests lined up for now? I think I'm not gonna put pressure on over the next week and just DTD every few days as well and no OPKs!

Trying2019 · 24/01/2020 22:37

@makingafamily19 doing things for your general health which can also help conception is definitely a good thing as doesnt seem like such a waste of time. Based on previous cycles ill probably start spotting Tuesday or Wednesday so if i dont ill test then. Ive had nothing since last night x

Banoffeepie91 · 25/01/2020 20:52

@Makeafamily19 yes, I’ve got some blood tests next month, not 100% sure what they are testing but have another doctors appointment next week so I’ll ask then.
Feeling a lot more relaxed since my ultrasound, I’d convinced myself I had cysts on my ovaries but apparently not!

Quick positive story- ttc for 12 months then it was extopic and i lost my left tube. But i got pregnant the very next month and she's 18m old now :) My little monkey and worth every tear and sleepless night a hundred times over Xx back again ttc no2!

Banoffeepie91 · 08/02/2020 10:08

How is everyone? I’m in my TWW at the moment. Testing on Tuesday if AF doesn’t come. Not that hopeful this month as I’ve been busy and stressed at work.

OP posts:
Makeafamily19 · 08/02/2020 10:16

Hi @Banoffeepie91 my AF is due Tuesday but I'm spotting heavy so know I'm out again. Got my bloods back, progesterone 38 which shows ovulation and everything else normal too. DH has his SA a week Monday. Did you get your results yet?

Trying2019 · 08/02/2020 11:34

Hi @banoffeepie91 i am CD8 so still in the boring bit. Due to ovulate day 18. Had my bloods done and DH had his sperm analysis just waiting for the results. Still need to go for my day 21 test as well this sample. Started temping but keep waking in the night so they are all over the place.

How is the Tww? You never know lots of people get their positive the cycle they least expect it. Do you have any symptoms? Xx

Banoffeepie91 · 08/02/2020 12:46

I’ve not had any blood tests yet, got them booked for a few weeks. Also had an internal examination from my gp and she said everything looked fine. Gp is really lovely though so I feel like I’m in good hands.
I’m using OvuSense this cycle for temps. It’s way less stressful than bbt with a thermometer. Would recommend. I didn’t ovulate until CD 23 this month which is quite annoying but at least I ovulated.

No symptoms really. Felt really sick yesterday but it was probably just nothing.

Just trying to focus on other things at the moment. Me and OH are having a long weekend away this weekend :)

OP posts:
Trying2019 · 08/02/2020 16:53

@Banoffeepie91 does ovusense still work if you wake in the night? I dont get up to go the loo but read you should check BBT after 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep.

Enjoy your weekend away. It definitely helped me chilling last cycle. I keep thinking to myself we have only been married 7 months i should still feel amazingly happy but TTC has taken that happiness away a bit so trying to not let it consume me xx

Ellsbells112 · 11/02/2020 20:12

Hey ladies can I join please? I'm in a similar boat and it would be great if I could be a part of this thread ❤️ I came off contraception in April last year but started tracking from September. Recently went doctors and going again tomorrow to get my OH referred for a SA. I'm honestly just happy the ball is rolling so we will get some answers at least. I think maybe because of past incidents I might have scarring on my tubes but have to do day 21 bloods first and SA.

How are we all feeling? @Banoffeepie91 where did you go away over the weekend, that's nice :)

@Trying2019 Ttc does suck the life out of your relationship, it's hard not to. I obsess about it all and every time af arrives I cry because I'm so scared there's a problem. Ah fingers crossed we all get bfps soon xx

Makeafamily19 · 11/02/2020 21:17

Hi @Ellsbells112 welcome :)
I think sometimes we all need to remind ourselves that it is normal to take a year or more. Not that I listen to that advice! I'm CD2 and feeling quite down about it today. It just seems so easy for everyone else, I keep wondering how many other people took ages to fall but it's just didn't talk about it. Like you said, you just keep wondering if there's a problem. I'm glad we have got the ball rolling as well, booked our fertility appointment at the hospital for 24th March which was quicker than I expected!

Ellsbells112 · 11/02/2020 22:46

@Makeafamily19 I know, I've never been one for patience though! Indeed, a lot more people talk about how quickly they fall, I haven't had any friends who had to wait a year to have a baby to be honest so this is all new to me. That's really good, is this the first appointment or have you had any tests done prior? I already have a son who is 8 so I know I can get pregnant but that was a long time ago and from previous. I'm cd3 myself, so we are close to cycle buddies!

Makeafamily19 · 12/02/2020 06:43

@Ellsbells112 this is my first so I have no idea if I can get pregnant. I have had blood tests which are normal and show ovulation. DH has his SA next week. This will be first appt with the fertility specialist at the hospital. I only have one friend with a child so don't really have anyone around to compare with (probably a good thing!). How long are your cycles? Mine are only 24/25 days so I always go out of sync with cycle buddies!

Trying2019 · 12/02/2020 07:57

Hi @ellsbells112 welcome to the group. Im currently having tests as well. Started ttc in June. Took till september for my cycles to regulate. I wanted to get the ball rolling with tests so said we had been trying a year. Doctor has said if all my tests come back normal she will still refer us rather than make us try longer as im 34. Really hoping it doesnt come to that but at least there is a plan in place. Everyone i know got pregnant first couple of months. Im sure a couple of my friends will probably announce their second soon so already preparing for it.

Hope your tests go ok xx

Ellsbells112 · 12/02/2020 09:11

@Makeafamily19 ahh okay! How long is your luteal phase?? If its on the shorter side I've heard agnus castus really helps with that. My cycles are 28 days always, this journey has made me really appreciate the fact I ovulate consistently on cd15 and I'm regular as I have met lovely ladies on here who never know when they will ovulate bless them. Hopefully you'll get a bfp soon! I know we get impatient but hopefully all tests are normal for you and then you know it may just take a while. A lady I met on here has a son already but it took her 2 years to conceive him (no one wants to wait that long, but still at least you know it can still happen after taking awhile!) I wonder why it does sometimes, maybe the sperm gets completely lost? My OH is very slow in doing things, so I always imagine his sperm the same and that's why it's taking forever 😂😂

@Trying2019 hey! Thank you for the welcome. Yes, the pregnancy announcements. Luckily my friends aren't trying yet! My sister has been trying for 2 years though bless her, she is 32 and no kids. I hope she gets somewhere soon. Good luck with your tests, hopefully it'll just be a thing of timing rather than an issue xx

Makeafamily19 · 12/02/2020 17:46

@Ellsbells112 I ovulate on CD11 every month so my LP isn't too bad but I do spot 4-5 days before AF which worries me. I took AC last cycle but it made no difference and my spotting was worse. Also on b complex which helped reduce the spotting. My periods are also very short and light, only 1 day of red proper bleeding.
I really hope the SA comes back ok 🤞🏼
It's so frustrating just not knowing! I think there are so many factors to fertility so some people are just more fertile or lucky than others!

Ellsbells112 · 12/02/2020 18:20

@Makeafamily19 to give some insight, I was with a guy for 3 years as a teenager and me being stupid never used contraception with him but I never got pregnant and so I thought I couldn't. Anyway, literally 4 years after that relationship ended I actually got back with that ex and fell pregnant STRAIGHT away. How bloody weird is that?
Thank you, we have to wait till Friday to ring up the clinic and then hopefully he can get an appointment for next week? Fingers crossed xx

Banoffeepie91 · 12/02/2020 18:34

@Trying2019 yes OvuSense does work if you wake up during the night. As long as you are lying down and resting it’s ok and if you get up to go to the toilet or something it just cancels out any odd temperatures. I’ve found it really useful as my cycles are STILL not regular after having the coil removed in June. AF due today and I’ve got cramps and some spotting so will be here in full force tomorrow. This cycle will have been 35 days. I’m a bit fed up of it to be honest. Got some blood tests next week so hoping all comes back ok there.
OH still convinced it’s him that’s the problem but he had tests last year and the dr said the results were normal.
We’re both getting really down about it this month.

@Ellsbells112 welcome! Talking to you guys makes me feel a bit better about everything.

Trying2019 · 12/02/2020 18:59

@Ellsbells112 It does just seem to be the luck of the draw in lots of cases and unfortunately we havent been lucky yet. I keep reminding myself that everyone has their own journey and one day it will be our turn and we will look back on this and it will all be a blur

@banoffeepie91 thank you. Its sounds really good. Im hoping my temps are pretty accurate then as ive not been getting out of bed pretty much gone straight back to sleep. Ive been testing at five in the morning because after that i need the toilet. Hoping i can be more consistent closer to ovulation. Sorry your both feeling down. Ive been there and its awful. It will pass. Try and distract yourself with the plans you have in place. You will one day have your baby. It can be all consuming sometimes but once AF has gone you will start feeling better xx

Banoffeepie91 · 12/02/2020 19:09

@Trying2019, thank you. We’ve just been giving our fur baby (cat) lots of cuddles this evening instead. Poor thing is going to have such a shock If we do ever have a baby. He gets soo much attention from both of us at the moment haha!!

OP posts:
Ellsbells112 · 12/02/2020 20:10

@banoffeepie91 thank you, yes it does indeed. Its nice not to feel alone when it takes a while ❤️ ahh I've been begging my OH to get a cat haha I want lots of cuddles too

@Trying2019 yeah exactly, we will never know what goes on inside but I'm sure we will all get a bfp soon! When it takes a while, I know its hard to see now but it does make you appreciate it all the more when it does happen.

Banoffeepie91 · 12/02/2020 20:40

@ellsbells112 you should definitely get a cat. Ours is currently sat on the sofa on top of OH purring away. I sometimes joke that he gets more attention from OH than me haha!

Thinking of trying acupuncture next. I had it a while ago for something different but it turns out the woman I went to actually specialises in it for fertility so I might speak to her and see what she recommends. Have any if you tried it?

OP posts:
Trying2019 · 12/02/2020 22:25

@Banoffeepie91 you will have to let us know how acupuncture goes. Im so tempted but dont want to throw money at everything so soon when other people can get pregnant after drinking and smoking and only having sex one. Ive heard great success stories though xx
