Feel like everywhere I look people are getting BFPs which is great but I’m starting to worry a bit. We’ve been trying since June and have had nothing yet. OH had sperm tests last year as part of something else and all came back fine. I’m 28 and he’s 41 so age hopefully shouldn’t be a problem.
Please could people share some positive 6 month+ ttc stories to cheer me up and stop me stressing as I know that won’t help all this either.
Also if anyone else is in the same situation and wants to chat that would be lovely.

I was due AF on Monday and it still hasn’t turned up! Had some horrible evaps on IC so convinced myself I was pregnant earlier in the week but just felt my cervix and it’s really low and hard so pretty sure I’ll be coming on the next few days. Really annoying as even though we try to DTD every other day I make the extra effort during my fertile window to stay in bed after with my pelvis raised to help the swimmers. No idea if it works but makes me feel like I’m at least trying!

Keep looking at stuff that we have planned throughout the year wondering if I’ll be pregnant by then. Statistically we all have a high chance of falling in 2020 so positive thoughts everyone! Can’t wait to see some BFPs on here and please come on to vent/cry if it’s all getting a bit too much.

I do this at all points of the month! Blush I think it is possibly my least attractive angle. Grin

ha @Banoffeepie91and @BeingATwatIsABingThing I do too

currently on cycle 13 over here – 13 cycles of very definitely trying after 18 months of not NOT trying. I know everyone says you have to keep positive but honestly it just feels like it's never going to happen and I am so incredibly bored of the same thought processes month in, month out

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 02/01/2020 18:28

Cycle 13 here too kell2126. Before that, we were occasionally using condoms or the pull out method. Whilst it wouldn’t have been planned, it wouldn’t have been a bad thing if I’d fallen pregnant before. We were waiting until after we were in our own house and then married because I didn’t want to be pregnant or post baby in my wedding dress. Already have a DD who is nearly 6 so stupidly thought we’d be expecting soon.

kell2126 · 02/01/2020 21:53

Pffft it's so hard. Hopefully lady luck will be smiling on us soon! xx

Hi all, new to Mumsnet but so nice to hear good advice and experiences. I have it in my head I've left it to long for a 2nd child even though I'm 31. I fell pregnant first month trying but miscarried and it's now been 6mnths with nothing.. trying to stay healthy ( I am a lil over weight) and have no medical conditions but just getting stressed now as it was so easy first time around 9years ago!

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 03/01/2020 13:31

LilMrsS

Hi! I also had a MC after conceiving in the first month of trying. It was a chemical so I feel like I couldn’t even grieve properly about it because it was ‘just’ a line on a test. I’m sorry you’ve been through a loss too.

I feel like I could have written your post. I’ve not even had a whiff of a BFP since January last year and I also have no medical conditions. Could definitely do with losing a stone as well.

LilMrsS · 03/01/2020 16:07

@BeingATwatItsABingThing
Ye i found out at scan there was no heartbeat but we got through that and hoped by now I would have had something.. longer it goes on the more paranoid I become about should I be eating certain things, taking vitamins, loosing weight etc when in reality people get pregnant in worse conditions.. 🤷 guess just trying a better lifestyle and keeping watch for peak ov

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 03/01/2020 18:16

when in reality people get pregnant in worse conditions

This is what really gets me. I don’t understand how people who smoke all the time, drink all the time and literally do no exercise are pregnant at the drop of a hat but I have never smoked, almost never drink and do a moderate amount of exercise and get nothing!

Banoffeepie91 · 03/01/2020 19:25

@BeingATwatItsABingThing I agree. There’s also the people who manage to get pregnant whilst on contraception.
I guess everyone’s different and we’ve just got to accept that even though it may seem unfair.
Hope everyone on here is holding out ok! Feels like everywhere I go there are pregnant people and babies. Even all the films we have watched recently have some kind of link to pregnancy. Sad

Hi @banoffeepie91! Just wanted to tell you my timeline as it might make you feel better- I came off the pill last December and we started ttc in jan. I got pregnant in Feb but had a miscarriage before 6 weeks- still felt really hopeful and I though "at least I'm fertile" - fast forward 9 months and despite tracking my temp, sex every 2 days in fertile period, legs up after sex, you name it, I just kept on getting my period. I felt really down and like you felt like everyone around me was getting pregnant. Then towards the end of November, just like that, I got my BFP! I did nothing different that month, nothing felt different, it just happened! I'm 9 weeks now and feeling much more positive so don't give up :)

Girlinglasses · 03/01/2020 20:54

I'm 32 by the way!

Makeafamily19 · 03/01/2020 22:39

Thanks for sharing @Girlinglasses it's nice to hear some positive stories.

@Banoffeepie91 no worries at all, I very much know how you feel. One of my very close friends started trying at around the same time as me (for her first as well) and got pregnant on her second month... with twins!!! 😂 so I feel your pain x

Banoffeepie91 · 04/01/2020 11:44

@Girlinglasses that must have been really tough. Luckily none of my really close friends have started trying yet but I don’t think they’ll be long so hopefully I’ll have good news before then or at least be far along enough through the journey that I’ll be getting help.

Welcome to everyone since i last posted. Hoping we all get some good news soon. Sorry not been on here much over the last couple of days. Spent some quality time with my friends and husband and found it the best therapy. Having too much time to think really doesnt help me when trying to conceive so going to keep busy even if its just reading a book. Hoping the relaxed approach will help. Booked a holiday for March that will hopefully be over my fertile week as well. Healthy eating starts today too makes me feel like im doing something to help xx

MrsMeow2019 · 05/01/2020 16:00

@Trying2019 time away from the boards is defo helpful for me too, I seem to manage well until about a week before AF is due. Then I start googling the same things - how early can I get a BFP, how many DPO for BFPs.... get the one step tests out lol. I’m going to TRY not to this month. Have put a veto on any tests until DH comes back from a boys weekend on 20th or Jan which is when AF is due. Hoping I make it 😆

Good luck to all you ladies this month, hope 2020 is a lucky year for us all x

polkadotpixie · 05/01/2020 16:21

It took us 12 cycles to conceive and that was with OPKs/tracking BBT/timed sex/PreSeed/every vitamin under the sun

No known fertility problems with either of us (we had all the tests). I eventually got pregnant after I had an HSG to check my tubes were clear so I think it must have flushed them out

I was beside myself by the time I actually got my BFP, I'd totally convinced myself it was never going to happen but we did get there eventually

Mellymooki · 05/01/2020 16:52

Hi ladies,
...hope you don’t mind me jumping in. It’s nice to read your posts, I don’t feel so alone in this TTC world. It’s the constant thought of should I take this, do I need this, should I see a dr (in which I have and going for blood tests).
So far in the last week, I’ve had two people announce they’re expecting and two who have given birth...I’m just sat here like when it’s going to be my time Envy

Trying2019 · 06/01/2020 17:31

Another pregnancy annoucement in work today for me as well. Just as i was feeling better spent the day nearly crying thinking when will it be my turn. Especially as she told me a couple of months ago how things hadnt been right in her relationship for years and she didnt want anymore Confused anyway spoken to a couple of friends about it now so feel a little better x

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 08/01/2020 07:09

@beingatwatitsabingthing i can see it 😀😀😀😀😀 congratulations. How many DPO are you?xx

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 08/01/2020 07:37

10dpo today. I got a BFP on a clear blue yesterday but my FRER was BFN so I didn’t want to believe it and get my hopes up.

I did the digital CB early test and it said not pregnant but when I took the test apart there were definitely two really clear lines there too.

I’ve got more tests coming so I will keep testing.

MrsMeow2019 · 08/01/2020 08:09

@beingatwatitsabingthing congratulations 🥳 amazing news x
