Hi guys

Not sure about anyone else but i have found that that i have tried posting on various threads and sometimes your own post gets really lost which can be slightly disheartening. I thought i would start this thread for anyone who has just started their TTC journey and together we can share our thoughts and experiences.... i do ask that (not to be mean) that this thread is only for people who have just started their TTC journey to avoid disappointment for people who are way into their journey and who may be experiencing different things. My own story is that i came of the pill in September and have yet to get my BFP. I got my first positive on Saturday just gone and now im 1dpo. Be great to hear from anyone in a similiar boat! Xx

@peachypetite glad you got your static! You never know, it might’ve been enough. But if not, your static will give you a better estimation of ovulation for next month so you know when to start dtd with your husband. Fingers crossed it was enough though xx

MrsH0692 · 15/02/2020 18:49

Hey guys.

Sorry for the radio silence, I’ve been on my honey moon so not been online..

We finally got the news we’ve been waiting for!

How is everyone getting on?! Xx

Congrats @MrsH0692 great news. Welcome to the club!!

peachypetite · 16/02/2020 10:33

Congrats mrs h.
To everyone still trying - has anyone found it has helped to make lots of plans around the time your period is due to try and keep busy? I don’t want to feel as down as i did last month.

MrsH0692 · 16/02/2020 15:48

Thanks guys. My OH has instantly changed and is the most caring person in the world hahaha... I like it! Xx

Vikki90 · 17/02/2020 08:00

@MrsH0692 huge congratulations lovely! That’s fab news! 😃 did you have symptoms? Or just late on? X

MrsH0692 · 17/02/2020 08:38

@Vikki90

Literally gave up OPKs etc for the month and just forgot about it all for a bit so I could enjoy our honeymoon and not be obsessive.

I was unpacking our case in our last hotel and saw all my AF bits and bobs and thought, ohh I’ve not come on and I’m due haha. So yeah, just late.

Today actually I feel very sicky, but we travelled for like 24 hours yesterday and I’m jet lagged so could be that.

Did a digital test this morning and seeing the word pregnant was so so nice. Xx

Vikki90 · 17/02/2020 19:47

@MrsH0692 aww how fab!! I can only imagine how good that feeling must be! 😊 all the best things come when they are least expected! You’ll have to keep us posted on everything 😊 xx

MrsH0692 · 17/02/2020 20:00

@Vikki90

A lovely feeling, but doesn’t feel too real yet! Hasn’t fully sunk in. How are you getting on? Xx

peachypetite · 17/02/2020 20:11

Anyone else due their period this weekend?

Vikki90 · 17/02/2020 21:20

@MrsH0692 aww bet it doesn’t! Well we all here to talk to in these early weeks as I can imagine it’s quite lonely at first with it being a secret (if you are keeping it quiet)

@peachypetite I am due on this week or next week, my cycles are unpredictable. When are you due? Do you feel it coming! ? X

peachypetite · 17/02/2020 21:49

I felt emotional yesterday. I guess at least this month I don’t have my hopes up whereas last month I was soooo hopeful. This journey is horrible :(

Vikki90 · 17/02/2020 22:17

@peachypetite yeah I am the same, I don’t have mine up either. I don’t feel different or anything. Hard isn’t it, I found out a friend was pregnant the other day and I am happy for them but then I want to cry inside that’s it’s not me. But it’s not over until AF arrives so we are still in the ‘game’ let me know how you get on x

MrsH0692 · 17/02/2020 22:20

@Vikki90

I’ve told my mum, as just was too excited not too. Haha. But it is nice to speak to people who know how nerve racking it all is!

I really hope you get your BFP soon 🥰 xx

peachypetite · 17/02/2020 23:10

@Vikki90 I know what you mean. My cousin is pregnant and I congratulated her but haven’t been in touch much because i don’t really want to have in depth discussion about how she’s feeling etc.

EithneBlue · 17/02/2020 23:28

@peachypetite - I'm due on Thursday(ish) - normally a day or two variation in my cycle but roughly then. Absolutely 0 symptoms of anything except a slight cold this month: not even PMT. Ovia suggests testing tomorrow so I expect I shall POAS to find nothing of interest.

peachypetite · 17/02/2020 23:53

I guess the sooner it comes the sooner you can start next cycle. Sigh.

Vikki90 · 18/02/2020 08:35

@MrsH0692 aww I bet your mum is over the moon 😊❤️ Thanks, me to 🤞🏻

@peachypetite @eithneblue how long are your cycles? Nice to be in sync with people I suppose then we can support each other through the next month. And hopefully get 3 positives...Xx

EithneBlue · 18/02/2020 09:07

Got up this morning to follow Ovia's advice. Opened the test stick before I peed. Wiped, HELLO AF on CD25: no brown spotting beforehand, just straight up AF. Stuck the stick in the pee cup anyway since it was already open. Definitely not pregnant.

@Vikki90 Actually, I thought my cycles were levelling out but I'm not so sure - according to OVIA since coming off the pill they've been 28, 26, 28 and now 25. So, you know, somewhere between 25 and 28 days.

The positives of this:

  1. I can drink at the hen party I'm going to next weekend.
  2. Shorter cycle means fertile window is brought forwards and more DTD :)

The negatives:

  1. Not knocked up yet, will now be at least 33 before I have a child.
  2. My cycle is confusing.
  3. Point 2 is leading a little bit of my brain to think "what if this means I'm infertile?"
WednesdaySpinner · 18/02/2020 09:32

@Vikki90 we went to a hotel near Kendal the first night and then off to Ullswater for the second night Smile we were so lucky with the weather too, it poured down on the Saturday when we had indoor activities planned and the Sunday was dry and sunny so that we could get out and about.

Congratulations @MrsH0692, what exciting news to come back home to!

AF has finished now for me and so I'm ready to try again this cycle. @eithneblue I'm not sure if this will help or not but I ended up going to the GP about my irregular cycles. She said that your cycles can vary up to 10 days in length and be classed as 'normal' and reassured me how rare it is for someone to have a cycle like clockwork every month. It's so hard isn't it because we don't talk about these things much in real life and so you assume that you must be the odd one out. Also I think that we are the same age, I had it in my head that I would be 32 and having a baby and by this rate I will also be 33 and still not pregnant. It's hard when you set yourself milestones and then they pass and you are no further forward, I get it completely!

peachypetite · 18/02/2020 10:48

@eithne short cycles is a good thing. My last few have been 28 days. I’m 32 too. It’s weird but I always had this feeling I’d be someone who wouldn’t get pregnant fast. A lot of my friends and cousins got pregnant either on honeymoon or within a couple of months of getting married.

Vikki90 · 18/02/2020 17:25

@EithneBlue I agree with your positives, shorter cycles means closer windows and more opportunities to get pregnant so head up and on to the next one! For me mine are 42 days around average which is more frustrating as I will ovulate less and harder and more expensive to work out when I am ovulating. I rang my doctor who has asked me to book in for bloods on day 2 when AF arrives so she can run some tests (lucky that I have had the same doctor since being a child and they are very good with me) I am 30 soon and I have been on the pill since 16 so I have the same worries but I am sure they are just worries. But age is just a number and people get pregnant in there 40s so we have plenty of time! 👍🏼

@WednesdaySpinner lovely, do love the lakes! We are hoping to go in summer this year to do some fell walks. Did your GP offer you any tests? Not sure how long you have been trying and whether that’s something you would want to look at if your early into your journey.

@peachypetite I had the same feeling and guess my gut was correct as well! Make sure hubby is around the same sort of day you got peak last month and am sure it will be your month! 😘

Swife · 19/02/2020 05:19

Welp... I'm out this month 🥺. Af just started. Good luck to the rest of you ladies 🧚🏽‍♀️.
