Join here please! I’m still taking my pill at the moment but current packet runs out on 7th Jan so planning to start then but not really track anything officially. I’ve been reading up about conception vitamins and going to buy some this week to start taking after new year- does anyone have recommendations for particular brands?
Will be my first but partners 2nd, very nervous but excited at the same time. No idea what to expect but hoping to have some ladies in the same situation to chat to!

I also tested today to a BFN, as expected but good to be sure I guess. Will save another for the end of the month

1987Nic · 04/01/2020 18:30

@yoomoo Its good to know we are heading in the right direction. Let’s hope we get a period soon. Hope you enjoy your cocktails.

Spark27 · 04/01/2020 18:57

Haha @yoomoo I know what you mean. I felt weird telling my parents I was pregnant the last time. It feels like you're saying 'yeah, we've been having loads of sex the last few months' EMBARRASING. And I wa a 32 yo married woman Grin

eitak22 · 04/01/2020 19:55

@yoomoo completely agree. Definitely a way to be like yes were getting it on every chance lol.

We've been together 13 and married for 5 so people are definitely expecting an announcement. My best friend said she'd had a dream I'd told her but she had to convince me it was exciting lol

Hello everyone!

Pleased to have found this thread. I’m 34, only met my partner a year ago, but having a baby is something we both really want, so I stopped taking the pill at the end of my pack towards the end of December. Which is obviously exciting, but since coming off, I’ve turned into an emotional argumentative pain in the backside! My hormones are all over the place - I’ve been on the pill on and off pretty much since I was 18 - so think my body is mightily confused. Has anyone else experienced any emotional outbursts since stopping the pill?! Or is it just me! I’m normally a very calm and a collected kind of a gal!

1987Nic · 04/01/2020 20:32

Welcome to the group Smile. Ive lots of emotional episodes that I wouldn’t usually have, sore nipples and bad headaches. I stopped taking my pill on the 19th December.

TheLastStark · 04/01/2020 21:18

Evening/night everyone!

@yoomoo, my DH is also gunning for a December baby, as the intake for new children is December here and he wants he/she to be one of the eldest.

I'm not fussed as I'm an August baby and did quite alright at school, even if there were some literally a year older puts on nerd hat

XelaSarp123 · 04/01/2020 21:25

Yes, definitely had the sore boob situation! Glad to hear I’m not the only one having emotional episodes!

alliejay81 · 04/01/2020 22:59

Which ovulation sticks are people using please? I'm feeling pretty confused at the moment!

SaharaRoxy · 04/01/2020 23:18

@XelaSarp123 yes after coming off the pill I found I got such bad temper and PMS. Made me realise that the pill has dulled me down! My libido also greatly improved so at least I could make up for the arguments and tears I caused!

I've thrown some cash at the clear blue 4 day fertile digital tests! It's only
Month one though so if I am TTC for a while I may go with internet cheapies, but I previously found them tricky to read.

Kelly02 · 05/01/2020 09:03

I stopped the POP pill end of Oct 19 with aim of trying in jan 2020. Been using Holland and Barratt folic, b12 and big D. I didn’t know what to expect with getting my cycles back because I didn’t bleed at all on my pill. Online it says that you should get a withdrawal bleed after about two weeks, never happened. I went a month! Then had a proper bleed!
We actually decided to try on my last ovulation cycle which was Xmas day! I have been trying to track ovulation which is hard when you only have two months to go on, but I have noticed I get headaches when I’m ovulating which are in line with what my CLUE app is saying time wise! I don’t know if I’m getting my hopes up with it being the first try but I’m hypersensitive to any signs that could just be my period coming 😂 good luck all!

Spark27 · 05/01/2020 09:34

@alliejay81 I use the One Step ones. They are Internet cheapies from amazon. I found they worked when TTC my first.
You have to get the hang of reading them and realising that that test line needs to be stronger/ darker. But as they're cheaper I don't mind potentially wasting some.

1987Nic · 05/01/2020 09:56

That’s great to hear your libido came back, what pill were you on?, my libido is rubbish.

FootballAndBeer145 · 05/01/2020 10:32

Morning all! Feeling pretty crap now :( did a preg test as period was late (about 4 days) and its negative.
We've been trying for the last few months, starting to think something is wrong

Ginger87 · 05/01/2020 10:42

Hey all! I've just come off the pill yesterday so it would be great to join! Not sure what I'm more nervous about... actually getting pregnant or not 😂.

I've just downloaded Clue to help track, but having been on the pill for so long I'm not sure how accurate it will be to start with..

BernadetteThreep · 05/01/2020 10:55

Welcome @Ginger87 a few of us are still waiting for our cycles post-contraception!

@alliejay81 I've been using easy@home tests, you can upload a picture on to the app for tracking. Tracking has made me feel less crazy about TTC and waiting for AF to arrive.

The only "symptom" I've had is a heavy pelvic feeling. Still no idea when AF will arrive, it's been almost 3 weeks now. I read 90% of women return to "normal" fertility within 3 weeks. (According to the implants own website) So fingers crossed AF or OV will happen soon!!!!!!

Sorry to hear you're feeling crappy @FootballAndBeer145 Sadfeel free to vent away if you need it.

BernadetteThreep · 05/01/2020 11:03

OMG! Just got AF!!!!! GrinGrin

lucymagoo · 05/01/2020 11:14

@FootballAndBeer145 how long have you been trying? It can take a while, sorry to hear you're feeling low, I'm sure it won't be too long for you

Florence13 · 05/01/2020 11:15

@yoomoo yep super looking forward to having no idea what my body is doing 😂 not!!! Nothing as of yet but I only stopped taking the pill a couple of days ago. It's so lovely to have others to talk to in the same situation. Agree with not telling people your trying though as does feel like your telling everyone your at it like rabbits 😂

Ginger87 · 05/01/2020 11:16

@BernadetteThreep thanks, that's good to know! I'll have a proper read through the thread at somepoint. Is this your first AF since contraception?

@footballandbeer145 sorry you're having a hard time, fingers crossed it will happen soon

Ginger87 · 05/01/2020 11:18

@florence13 I came off yesterday so in the same boat as you! Just want to know what my body will do lol! I'm dying to tell someone, seeing close friend later so thinking I might mention it to her... maybe.

BernadetteThreep · 05/01/2020 11:23

@Ginger87 it is my first AF since having my implant taken out. I'm ridiculously happy right now Grin has implant taken out just under 3 weeks ago. So guess I can't complain. In the scheme of things it hasn't taken too long.

Ginger87 · 05/01/2020 11:26

@BernadetteThreep excellent news! That's not long at all! GrinGrin

lucymagoo · 05/01/2020 11:31

@BernadetteThreep that's great news! I'm 3 weeks off the pill and nothing yet, hoping it comes soon

BernadetteThreep · 05/01/2020 11:52

My OH is amused at how happy I am about AF appearing.

His work means he travels a fair bit, so we've been checking he'll be around for my predicted ovulation.

Here's to day 1 of cycle 1 Grin
