Join here please! I’m still taking my pill at the moment but current packet runs out on 7th Jan so planning to start then but not really track anything officially. I’ve been reading up about conception vitamins and going to buy some this week to start taking after new year- does anyone have recommendations for particular brands?
Will be my first but partners 2nd, very nervous but excited at the same time. No idea what to expect but hoping to have some ladies in the same situation to chat to!

Hi all, first time on the forums, hoping it's OK to join? Took my last pill yesterday, so in the same boat as many of you! Feeling super scared about how grown up this all is and looking forward to having people I can talk to about it!

Ginger87 · 05/01/2020 12:06

@marshmallow1102 We're 'last day on the pill' buddies!

For those who are off already, did you wait until you'd had a proper AF (as opposed to a withdrawal bleed) before trying? Just read the instructions of the pills (levest) I was taking and it said you should wait until afterwards your first natural period before trying to help date the pregnancy?

Superdazzleunicorn · 05/01/2020 12:33

Hey hope joining in on this thread is ok. I stopped my mini pill after only being on it for 1 month 🤣. My cycle was always 28 days bang on. On day 32 now and nothing yet. My last period was on day 30 while on the pill. Sat waiting for it to appear too.

Superdazzleunicorn · 05/01/2020 12:34

Must add the it's been about a month since I stopped my pill. Hope everyones ok

lucymagoo · 05/01/2020 13:07

@Superdazzleunicorn were you on any contraception before that? Your cycles should probably return very quickly if you were on it for just a month. I was only on the pill for a few months but had the depo injection for a year before that so I have both swimming around my system still unfortunately HmmSad

Superdazzleunicorn · 05/01/2020 13:52

Nope, no other protection for 7 years before that.

LTimm27 · 05/01/2020 14:53

Hi!

Hope ok to join this thread! 😊 TTC this new year!
I’ve been off the pill since beginning of August 19 - married October 19 and nothing happening yet. We already have a DD, 4 in February so wanting baby number 2. Now tracking my ovulation and I am in the fertile window today! Hopefully I get a BFP soon!

😊😊😊

BernadetteThreep · 05/01/2020 15:13

Welcome @LTimm27 @Superdazzleunicorn and @Marshmallow1102

AF cramps have come on full force this afternoon, didn't have periods whilst on implant - had forgotten how distracting the pain is. 😂

rhirhibumblebee · 05/01/2020 15:34

Congrats on the AFs ! And welcome everyone who's joined!

Despite still some HCG Thursday, I've kinda hoped it would just drop by the weekend and I'll still ovulate tomorrow ! Today I have EWCM so I have my fingers crossed 🙈 . Don't want to get my hopes up though. I'll still order some ovulation tests ready for next month!

rhirhibumblebee · 05/01/2020 15:35

By congrats, you know what I mean... for those who were waiting for their first to hurry up and start! Xx

Kelly02 · 05/01/2020 15:58

@Ginger87 I did wait a month just because it was recommended online, i didn’t have a period at all on my pill so it allowed me time to get to know my cycle before TTC. I’d also take some mental notes as for what is ‘normal’ for you I.e sore boobs and cramping, at what points in your cycle, as when your trying it will be good to refer back to what might be new for you, and could mean baby!

FootballAndBeer145 · 05/01/2020 17:07

For those who have asked how long been trying etc

I had the implant removed about a year ago, haven't used any contraception since. Although we weren't actively trying until November, we were by no means careful.

Feeling a bit better now - I need to stop googling stuff

Spark27 · 05/01/2020 18:04

That's good news @BernadetteThreep, hopefully you'll settle into a good cycle.

Hello to all the new people who have joined. Exciting to have so many of us.
@LTimm27 I'm in my fertile window too and due to ovulate on Tuesday, also trying for my second. Fx for some BFPs.

@FootballAndBeer145, I've got no idea how long it takes for the effects of the implant to get out of your system. And as there's only a few days a month we're lucky enough to get pregnant, I would expect it could take time. But as someone who is in the middle of TTC I know its really difficult. I remember being younger and thinking just one slip up would lead to pregnancy. Phah!

BernadetteThreep · 05/01/2020 18:52

@FootballAndBeer145 When I got pregnant with my son we were NTNP, very relaxed (although I started to get a bit edgy towards the end). Took about 18 months. That was in my 20s. I'm in my 30s now, so want all the help I can get. Will be tracking BBT and using OPKs.

Hahahaha @Spark27 Yeh I remember that feeling! The window of opportunity seems so small, yet when I was a teenager I was terrified it would happen at any moment!

lastonetime · 05/01/2020 19:03

Evening all! Hope everyone's okay!
For those in their fertile week are you using opks too or just apps?
I took one today and clue reckons I should be ovulating, the lines were almost similar but not quite, so I'm hoping for a positive tomorrow 🤞

Lola871 · 05/01/2020 19:11

@FootballAndBeer145 sorry you're having a tough time, we did NTNP for 6 months last year before I got a new job and when I looked back we actually didn't DTD at the right time more than once or twice! So going for tracking via an app only for now, and if that doesn't do the trick after 4 cycles I might go for something more specific.

Glad to hear some people have got the much waited for AFs, I'll be joining you on cycle 1 in a few days hopefully, AF due on Thursday or Friday. Then just a two week wait for fertile week, followed by the actual TWW, it's a lot of waiting isn't it 🤣

Ginger87 · 05/01/2020 19:20

Thanks @Kelly102, I've downloaded Clue so I can keep track of things like that... otherwise I'd never remember. I've been on the pill for about 10 years so can't remember what a 'real' AF is like for me. I just hate all the waiting, when I decide to do something I want to get on and do it 😂

switcharoo · 05/01/2020 19:23

@lastonetime first cycle so just using apps (Ovia and period calendar) both saying I'm ovulating today but I haven't felt any ovulation pains so I'm second guessing them, we've had sex the last 2 nights to be sure and will again tonight but if I feel ovulations pains tomo I'm going to have to convince DH we need another early night Blush

Ginger87 · 05/01/2020 19:23

@Kelly02 whoops... tagged you incorrectly below!

yoomoo · 05/01/2020 20:03

Evening all! Welcome to all the newbies, sorry I’ve been trying to scroll back to tag you all but I went back a page and it lost the post 🤦🏼‍♀️
Lovely mixture of people at different stages now on here but nice to talk to others it’s actually quite isolating really, I’m trying not to talk DP to death about it so nice to come on here to vent Smile
Had a lovely evening last night, negative test yesterday so had a couple of gins and a great dinner. I said to DP last night I was sad the test was negative and he said don’t worry we’ve only just started and don’t you need to have a cycle first, so he does pay attention 😂 anyway he said he thinks we’ll conceive once I’ve had my first cycle, who knows why he thinks that but I’ll go along with it!

Still no AF for me, 2.5 weeks since I last took the pill. Hoping it might arrive one day this week Hmm probably when I’m back in the office no doubt.

Congrats on the AF @BernadetteThreep seems a bit weird to be pleased for someone else’s period Grin but yay!

Good luck @rhirhibumblebee hoping that little egg is on its way!

@Ginger87 we haven’t really waited as such, I’m tracking body changes etc and just waiting for my withdrawal bleed to get things moving on first cycle. Not going overboard with the trying but then not preventing either!

@FootballAndBeer145 keeping everything crossed for you, I’m sure you will be lucky soon!

Good luck to all in their fertile windows, I can’t wait to find out when mine actually is Grin but in the meantime I’ll be waiting for the test photos in a few weeks!!

rhirhibumblebee · 05/01/2020 21:31

@lastonetime I'm using apps but I'm going to order some OPKs this week.

@Lola871 Good luck for Thursday. It certainly is a lot of waiting 🙈. I didn't realise I was so impatient until TTC again !

@yoomoo ahhh hope you're not waiting too much longer!

alliejay81 · 05/01/2020 22:17

Thanks for the ovulation stick recommendations. AF arrived today but I also just found out DH is working away for two weeks in Jan. 🤦🏼‍♀️. Fingers crossed my ovulation window is at the weekend!!!

lastonetime · 05/01/2020 22:18

@rhirhibumblebee I've got the cheapie ones in bulk from amazon, i bought the expensive ones after my miscarriage but I wanted to test so often it was going to cost a fortune!

Florence13 · 05/01/2020 22:34

@Ginger87 aww yay at least we can wait for finding out what our body's do when not on the pill together.

Welcome to all the newbies. Think I'm going to hold off ovulation sticks and try and just be relaxed about it all initially. Although I can see myself getting impatient.

RBSK1 · 05/01/2020 22:36

Hi guys, newbie here. Me and the OH have finally decided to start trying. We’re both 25. I came off the mini pill the first week of December. Still no AF, but decided to use the apps to try and track ovulation.

Anyone else come off the mini pill (Cerazette etc) and fell pregnant straight away?? I’m worried that I’m gonna spend a fortune on tests thinking I’m late when I’m just not back to “normal” yet??
