Join here please! I’m still taking my pill at the moment but current packet runs out on 7th Jan so planning to start then but not really track anything officially. I’ve been reading up about conception vitamins and going to buy some this week to start taking after new year- does anyone have recommendations for particular brands?
Will be my first but partners 2nd, very nervous but excited at the same time. No idea what to expect but hoping to have some ladies in the same situation to chat to!

@yoomoo, I know. Means I've had to shave my legs, urgh.

@rhirhibumblebee, sorry to hear about the MC. Fingers crossed for decreasing HCG and ovulating in Feb.

eitak22 · 03/01/2020 22:09

Is it ok if i join? DH and i had a heart to heart and said we'd like to 'low presure' start trying but would be great to have some people to talk to as can't talk to anyone in RL obviously.

FootballAndBeer145 · 03/01/2020 22:53

I'm a bit late to the party here (standard for me) so hope it's ok to join

First time ttc - still trying to work out what app works best for me- currently using Ovia, Glow & Clue: they don't seem to be saying the same thing for same day

What vitamins is everyone taking? Me & DP been taking pregnacare conception his & hers for about 3 months

Lola871 · 04/01/2020 08:10

I'm sure it's not healthy the amount of time I spend reading these boards when we can't even try for another 3 weeks 🤣 have a nice weekend everyone, welcome @eitak22 and @FootballAndBeer145

Florence13 · 04/01/2020 08:45

@Lola871 I know what you mean I keep reading all these boards a lot!! Super excited to say I'm officially off the pill as of yesterday. Let's see what my body does. :) Hope everyone else is doing ok.

DontGoJasonWaterfalls · 04/01/2020 09:47

@FootballAndBeer145 just the standard folic acid here although I am considering picking up some of the pregnacare conception stuff.

JaffaCakeGal · 04/01/2020 09:56

Just tested and as predicted (luckily for now) BFN. Will test against in 2 weeks Smile I've been really hormonal this week and my boobs are so sore! Fingers crossed for AF soon then I can have more of an idea when to DTD when the time comes!

SaharaRoxy · 04/01/2020 10:11

@eitak22 I wanted a low pressure TTC experience. But I quickly found out that I personally felt less stressed / more confident and comfortable by being more measured. I knew that you get 1-2 'very' good days per month to try and lucky on a few days either side of that date. But because DH and I are often busy I didn't want to consistently miss the good few days because we were being 'low pressure' have a think about your lifestyle and how you want to approach this. I use OVulation predictor tests and previously tracked temperature to see when I ovulated and to see if my luteal phase was a good legnth. All things I never even knew about before the start of my TTC journey! But arming myself with information actually took the pressure off! But everyone is different :)

lucymagoo · 04/01/2020 10:23

@JaffaCakeGal same, my boobs are so sore I've never had anything like it before! Hoping things settle down for us both soon

BernadetteThreep · 04/01/2020 11:00

Sorry to hear that @rhirhibumblebee

@DontGoJasonWaterfalls We've been using the Pregnacare conception (his and her). bit expensive but seems good for topping up nutrients (crappy diet over Christmas)

I've still not had AF, also not had a +tive OPK either. So almost about ready to give up on January already! Feeling quite chilled out about it all tbh, there's nothing I can do about it all. Plus my house is (still) suffering from Christmas, going to concentrate on getting my act together.

Hope you are all well Grin

eitak22 · 04/01/2020 11:45

@SaharaRoxy I understand that. We've only just entered the journey and woried that becoming too fixated on it will make both me and Dh stress too much. Obviously things might change later on in the year.

Spark27 · 04/01/2020 12:35

@eitak22 I know what you mean. It can become stressful and you lose the fun of it all, but like @SaharaRoxy said it depends what your 'plans' are and how the opportunities stack up.
My first time I only had 2 months before DH deployed for 6 months, and I was so lucky it happened the 2nd month. This time round we don't have that restriction, but I'm aware I'm getting on a bit (Hmm) and I don't want too big of a gap between kids, and want to get through the small kids stage as well. It just depends on your circumstances.

Although, tbh now any time I suggest we DTD my DH has to know what it's for as it's that much of a rarity Grin

@DontGoJasonWaterfalls I'm only taking folic acid at the mo. Will add vit D if/when needed. I'm rubbish at swallowing tablets so need really small ones

lucymagoo · 04/01/2020 12:40

@eitak22 I'm with you, we aren't hugely in a rush and are taking a very relaxed approach these first few months. If it doesn't happen by say March or April we are gonna start tracking and taking things more seriously. But I don't expect my cycles to return to normal by then anyway

1987Nic · 04/01/2020 13:03

@lucymagoo boob pain is still going strong here, it didn’t help being in an outside pool too ha. @yoomoo Do you think it was the prod that made the boob pain come on? Shock.

rhirhibumblebee · 04/01/2020 14:03

@SaharaRoxy I had read that ovulation tests can be positive if you still have HCG in your system so I haven't yet. But I think I will next cycle, to figure out what my cycle is doing!

@NeverGotMyPuppy How long are your cycles normally? Waiting is so awful! I hope something shows up soon!

@DontGoJasonWaterfalls Waiting is the worst!

@Spark27 Thank you, I hope so! It's really dragging now.

@eitak22 That's the best way! Fingers crossed for you !

@FootballAndBeer145 Hi! I'm taking the pregnacare too

@JaffaCakeGal fingers crossed!

@BernadetteThreep thank you! Yes I've had a mad busy clean and I've been out in the garden today sorting out things that will be hard to do if I'm pregnant. Staying positive!

rachTTC · 04/01/2020 14:09

hi everyone, hope it’s ok to join! new on here and ttc since October.
I’m currently on CD 41 and period is around 8 days late! Took loads of pregnancy tests and all negative! I have been getting back pain and lower abdominal cramping & headaches since CD 34. Weirdly took an Opk by mistake and it come up with a strong positive on CD 39!
I come off microgynin (However you spell it) in June 19! Anyone having similar issues?

TheLastStark · 04/01/2020 14:33

Good luck @RachTTC, hope it turns into a positive result for you!

I'm feeling really period-y today which is annoying as I have a trip on Tuesday which I don't want to be on for. Oh well, it does also mean we can begin when we get back home!

SaharaRoxy · 04/01/2020 14:46

I feel so much more pressure TTC number two than number one! This time around I'm planning age gaps and also would rather not have a Christmas baby! I know... I know... can't 'plan' this stuff at all but seems like more to 'wish' for when TTC number 2 rather than baby 1!

Fluffysocks10 · 04/01/2020 14:48

Thank you @yoomoo and @rhirhibumblebee for the recommendations. I can’t believe how quickly this thread has moved on!!

I’ve thought about pregnancy announcements too, I can’t stay off Pinterest!

Hope everyone is ok x

SaharaRoxy · 04/01/2020 16:04

@Fluffysocks10 I love a good pregnancy announcement (no I'm not talking about plastering a scan all over FB - although each to their own) I'm talking about a special moment to tell close family about it!

Do you have any plans for yours??

Spark27 · 04/01/2020 16:25

@SaharaRoxy I'm with you on the planning for the 2nd one. I was so lucky that the first one just seemed to happen at the exact time I needed it to. Now I know how lucky I was, and how lucky it is to get pregnant, have an easy pregnancy and healthy baby.

And I feel like we're definitely at that point now where family are expecting a pregnancy announcement this year. Any situation where I'm not drinking proper coffee or alcohol will get raised eyebrows. I may have to hibernate

SaharaRoxy · 04/01/2020 16:40

@Spark27 I'm stupid enough to tell family and close friends that I'm ' thinking about trying' and how nice a sept / Oct / nov baby would be! Why do I do this to myself!

Fluffysocks10 · 04/01/2020 16:47

@SaharaRoxy I think for parents we’ll do something specifically for them but i’m not sure what yet! As for everyone else I think it will just be on a need to know basis, as I don’t want to plaster it everywhere just for someone that I haven’t spoken to for 10 years or so to have a nosey!

Have you thought about it?

SaharaRoxy · 04/01/2020 17:24

@Fluffysocks10 yes I did a cheesy reveal to my parents with a gift naming them as grandparents and my sister as Aunt. I kept the pregnancy off of social media and told close friends face to face and other friends that I didn't manage to catch over message (friends living far away for example) I don't know what I would do second time around I think the novelty is a little less flr number two!

yoomoo · 04/01/2020 18:08

Evening all! Finally had the chance to get on here, been so busy all day sorting the garage out, it’s finally done though! Love getting things organised.

Oh no @rhirhibumblebee that’s really rubbish Sad I hope you are ok. I think there will be a few of us in the February camp, pretty sure I’m not going to conceive in January as no idea what my cycle is up to!

Welcome @eitak22 I think we all know what you mean about not being able to talk about it in real life, I feel weird even thinking about trying let alone saying it out loud so we’ll keep it as our secret, always feels a bit strange telling people we’re having more sex, probably just me being strange though Grin

Welcome @FootballAndBeer145 that’s annoying about those apps, I’ve been using Ovia but it’s not got a scooby what is happening with me as I’m still waiting for pill withdrawal bleed! I think I’m probably crashing their systems somewhere with the confusing stuff I’m adding 😂

Yay @Florence13 welcome to the ‘off the pill fuck knows what my body is doing’ gang 😂

I am also addicted to these conception boards @Lola871 only writing on this thread as I don’t have much else to say right now! But I do like the ones with the pictures of pregnancy tests on Smile

@JaffaCakeGal I also tested this morning and it was negative, as expected really but I was a teeny bit disappointed! Never mind off out tonight as we are child free so I can have a few cocktails and enjoy it!

We’re also in the relaxed camp here, ideally I want a December baby (don’t ask I know I’m mad Grin) so if it takes a couple of months that’s fine but I am trying to track my cycle so I can understand what on Earth my body is doing, so weird though I’d never given it a minutes thought before, all those ovulations and periods have just happened with no thought!

@1987Nic it is quite possible I bought it on myself, nipples are still a bit sensitive today but nothing major to report 🙄

I’ve only thought about how we’ll tell my stepdaughter at the moment, it’s going to be tough keeping it a secret until we’ve had the scan etc. But I’ll just have to chat on here I think!

Anyway need to get a withdrawal bleed first, 2.5 weeks and still nothing. Every day I get the period feelings but nothing! Oh well, it will have to turn up at some point.

Planning to test again end of January so will see what happens then 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’m too impatient for this malarkey Grin

Hope you all have a great Saturday night
