Anyone looking to start TTC in New Year?

Join here please! I’m still taking my pill at the moment but current packet runs out on 7th Jan so planning to start then but not really track anything officially. I’ve been reading up about conception vitamins and going to buy some this week to start taking after new year- does anyone have recommendations for particular brands?
Will be my first but partners 2nd, very nervous but excited at the same time. No idea what to expect but hoping to have some ladies in the same situation to chat to!

I'm quite lucky that my partner is self employed and works from home so I have full flexi options with work. Will probably look to go back part time either way but I guess you don't know until it happens

@lastonetime yes it's 26 weeks (basically from start of pregnancy) for SMP but my newer workplace gives enhanced mat pay if you've bee there for a year before your due date, so I was sensibly waiting for that, as well as giving myself time to settle in etc.

I'm very worried about impact on work, I'm a real career girl and am pretty happy with where I'm at now (at 32), so have thought of a few options but not sure exactly where I'll go with it, I think you can't really plan ahead, because I know plenty of people that thought they wanted one thing, then their priorities completely changed!

I’m lucky to work in the same town that I also live in. Would ideally like to drop a day at work and work 4 days. I’ve had such bad pain in my boobs today, sorry for tmi but itfeels like things are heading the right direction to get my period.

@1987Nic my boobs have been aching too I'm with you! Hoping it's the sign of a withdrawal bleed coming soon

Definitely think it’s signs of good things to come to the both of us. It’s crazy how I’ve not wanted a period for over 10 years and now I can’t wait for one to arrive.

Yeah @Lola871 you are right, I’m the same age as you and happy with where I am but have just been on the career ladder since I left school so thinking differently is tough! I’m quite blasé about it now and going back but quite prepared to want to be at home!

@1987Nic @lucymagoo just gave my boobs a good prod nothing from me on that front just really bad backache which I’ve had for a while now. Have convinced myself something has implanted in my back instead of where it should bloody be 😂

Ooh, I hope it's not too late to join! Excited to finally join in one of these threads I just had my IUD out in December and waiting for my period before we get started.

Also a weird question on those of you taking pregnacare: have you had any spitting or cramps after taking it? I've had to switch to the Boots brand as I wasn't getting on with it

Haha that made me laugh @yoomoo, it’s more my nipple than my boob, it’s so sore for a few minutes and then goes away. Back pain doesn’t sound very nice.

Welcome @TheLastStark! Definitely not too late to join, some of us have been off contraception a couple of weeks and some are just getting started this week!
No spotting for me, wish I would have that as it would at least show a little bit of action nothing sadly for me only cramps and backache.

Had a funny chat with DP earlier when I said I’d test at the weekend, why would you do that he asks? Well because I stopped taking the pill you wally! Honestly these men 🙄😂

My best friend has been laughing at me in pain all day, she said goodness help her once I’m pregnant. Ha men can be so funny. 🤣🤣

This is our first proper month of trying. I want to remain calm but feel I won't manage that!
Yeah men are funny, mine is asking why I keep reading up on TTC he said it's easy you just have sex!

All caught up, so nice to see others looking forward to starting or expanding their families.

Also, I can't stop thinking about announcing the pregnancy! My DH and I are already legally married but had to delay the ceremony/party until September, and I would love to have a bump/announcement at the wedding! We debated back and forth to wait until after the wedding but we are ready and felt silly delaying something for one day so here we are!

@BernadetteThreep I hope your DS is OK. Got to love the calpol. It's like crack for kids.

I don't think you can tell how you'll feel about going back to work until you're there. I went through so many different emotions during my mat leave. I didn't want to go back after the year, but had to, and am so pleased I did. The chance to wee in peace and drink a hot coffee (not at the same time) is not a given anymore

Morning all! DS is as right as rain this morning, was just a blip.

Still no AF, but definitely feeling much calmer about it all. I've read some people get pregnant before a bleed after implant, I suspect I'm not going to be one of them.

How is everyone else doing?

Good luck everyone, this is my first month TTC for my second baby. Baby one is 18 months old, I'm still bf so am not temping or anything. My periods returned 4 month post partum regular as clockwork despite me bf exclusively! Hope that's a good sign! I've not been on any contraception so I hope my body is ready. I'd love my baby to be just turned two and the next one on its way!

@BernadetteThreep that's good about your DS. It's horrid when they are ill.

I'm feeling rubbish today. Trying to cut down the caffeine at the moment so didn't have any coffee yesterday. Got a banging headache today and very grumpy, so just about to have one. Also really irritable with OH, not ideal as it's the time for DTD

Hi @SaharaRoxy fx on trying for #2. I'm trying for my 2nd as well. I'm only on CD 11 and not due to ovulate until Tuesday. I'm in my fertile window though. 2nd cycle attempt for us, but my last cycle was really messed up. Fortunately this one seems to be running according to my app at the mo

@Spark27 good you're in you're fertile window! I just tested with an OPK and not fertile yet. I hope I tested early and didn't miss it!

Afternoon I'm on CD 11 but my periods are slightly short so according to my app I should ovulate Sunday
We conceived first cycle on my last two pregnancies (one miscarriage, on DD) so I'm hoping it'll all run well! 🤞

No major update from me, still the same tummy cramps with backache that seems to be lingering and today sore nipples 😂 it really is the longest wait ever for something, anything to happen.

Going to test over the weekend in case by some miracle I fell pregnant immediately after stopping the pill, it will be negative but at least I’ve checked. Will then test again end of January unless my cycle makes itself obvious!

Been a busy few days at work, how is everyone doing???

I think I'm out for this month as I was hoping to ovulate Monday (according to Flo) but I had my bloods done on Thursday and HCG is still 25 from my miscarriage in November!! Can't believe it! I have read you can't ovulate if it's in your system still. I've even had a normal period since the miscarriage.

So I think I'm joining the Febs!! (Hopefully)

OP I think I will be resting Sunday 19th... if I've not come on by then! Last pregnancy I got a BFP on 11DPO but I had temped and tracked cycles for a few months... unsure exactly when I'm due to ov, expecting a flashy smiley face in the next couple of days or I will feel disheartened for this month!

@rhirhibumblebee will you be doing Ovulation testing this month to double check?
