Anyone looking to start TTC in New Year?

Join here please! I’m still taking my pill at the moment but current packet runs out on 7th Jan so planning to start then but not really track anything officially. I’ve been reading up about conception vitamins and going to buy some this week to start taking after new year- does anyone have recommendations for particular brands?
Will be my first but partners 2nd, very nervous but excited at the same time. No idea what to expect but hoping to have some ladies in the same situation to chat to!

Oh and @lastonetime is that 3 BFPs in this group then??

Hi all, just catching up! Wow I’ve been away for a few days and we’ve got 3 potential BFPs! I can definitely see lines on all of them!

Congrats @lastonetime @switcharoo and @rachTTC how do you all feel? Think there’s some more tests being done over next few days

Not much by way of update from me, think I ovulated last week based on the OPKs so I could be anything from 7DPO to 10DPO but hard to know really as no AF at all since stopping the pill on 17th December. So I might be in a TWW but not sure!
Did a test on Saturday which was negative as expected but the last few days I’ve been absolutely wiped out, have developed a sore throat & headache, keep having dizzy spells when walking, very emotional, sore boobs and I’m having the most vivid dreams! Probably all a total coincidence but wondering what could be going on. I’ll probably do another test at the weekend, I’ve got a load of cheapies on amazon as not sure I want to pay out for the others at this stage

How is everyone else getting on?

@yoomoo I've been symptom spotting like mad. Even though I tried not to. Really bloated today and had an ache in my lower back this afternoon. I've had a few dizzy spells when I've got up quickly.
I've also had some little stomach twinges/pains occasionally during the last 24hrs. But they feel like they're near my belly button.
I've also been a bit short tempered with DH, but to be fair he has been a bit annoying

@yoomoo so funny you say that, I've been having crazy vivid dreams too. I stopped my pill 1 day before you so we must be on par for symptoms. My boobs still feel swollen and sore

So, took the plunge and took a test today, got this very faint response. Did another one an hour or so later and it’s a similarly faint line.

Should I wait a few days or a few weeks to do another?????

@yoomoo Sore boobs and vivid dreams have always been a sign for me. I never dream so found t really odd to suddenly be!

My boobs are so painful today and DD just wants cuddles because she feel rotten, but then constantly elbows them!

@RBSK1 I can see a faint line there, did you use FMU? if not maybe take tomorrow and see then?

First morning urine, the hormones are stronger then so you should get a more defined line

They do say that most babies are born in September! I don't know how true that is or if it's just a saying but hopefully it's good luck!

@Spark27 it’s so hard not to isn’t it?! I’ve been trying to be chilled but I find it quite consuming when I think about it so have stayed off here for a few days to see if I can calm down a bit the weird thing is I don’t actually want to fall pregnant this month but I’ll be disappointed if I’m not 🤣 I’m annoying myself tbh, luckily not saying any of this out loud to DP just you poor folk on here having to read it!

I never dream at all, too knackered I think but the last few days they’ve been so vivid. The first one I remember I had a baby girl very prematurely so I was on the phone to my mum asking her to get some clothes but for some reason I was absolutely obsessed with white vests so I woke up repeating over and over just white vests mum don’t get anything else. Go figure

@RBSK1 I can deffo see a line too! What day are you on? I’m sure it will get darker over next few days!

@rhirhibumblebee yes that is statistically correct as well too I think! I’m sure I heard it on one born every minute (my guilty pleasure!) I think it’s because a lot of people throw caution to the wind over Christmas and New Year with TTC

We decided to try at new year so I had my coil took out on the 3rd. Bled for 6 days starting on the 5th, is this the withdrawl I've seen people talking about?

Nurse said I should test 3 weeks after because we'd had sex a few nights before but I'm too hot, over emotional, bloated and sickly now. It wouldn't show already though would it? 🤔

@Anon87 sounds like your withdrawal bleed but I’ve not had one myself so couldn’t be 100%!

I would definitely think about testing next week which would be 3 weeks since you had it out?

@yoomoo Yeah that would make the 3 weeks. I've just ordered ovulation strips in bulk. Be a bit miffed to miss out on all the fun of the trying 😆

So many potential positives already! We need updates from all those with faint positives!!

I had my smear test today - make sure you're up to date everyone! - and she said I had a tilted cervix, not sure if that means anything fertility wise, I've had a Google and it looks like it shouldn't make a difference so fingers crossed!

@Lola871 I had my smear same appt as contraceptive removal. Nurse struggled as mines tilted apparently too. I asked her if it would affect birth at all, she said nope but her swab may not have been good enough and I may have to come back.

@Lola871 @Anon87 I also have a tilted cervix which has been mentioned at the few smears I’ve had! Luckily only had one inconclusive result but that was more due to blood that shouldn’t have been there. The nurses said to me it’s very common and won’t affect anything

Any more news with our positive testers? I’ve ordered a couple of first response ones on amazon this morning as the ones I have are only 20mlu whereas those are 6mlu so could see something a bit sooner. Think I’ll try one of those Saturday but if it’s negative leave it another week! Nearly 1 month since stopping the pill and zilch!

So I took your advice and used FMU with one of the standard tests and got a clearer line but last night we decided to do a clear blue digital to stop confusion over faint lines and it came up BFN.
I’m proper fretting over what it all means. Anyone have any advice??

That’s a line @RBSK1!! Congrats! As I understand it the clear blue digitals are some of the least sensitive so it can take another week or so to get a positive on those. When did you say you came off the pill and which one were you using? I’m just nosey

Give it a couple of days and do another one with FMU that line will get darker.

Serious?! I’ve got a doctors appointment to day to be sure. My mum has horrendous pregnancies 7 MMC and 1 ectopic so constantly on edge!!
I came of Cerazette (pop pill) first week in December

I think that’s definitely a positive, I can see a line! A line is a line quite early by looks of things as it’s faint but it is there!

Doctors seem to differ with early pregnancies some will just go by your test but others will do bloods. Let us know how it goes

@RBSK1 yes I've heard the same as @yoomoo on clearblue digitals I think you def have to have missed AF for them to show as the sensitivity isn't as high as the others, def looks like a good line this morning!
