Anyone looking to start TTC in New Year?

Join here please! I’m still taking my pill at the moment but current packet runs out on 7th Jan so planning to start then but not really track anything officially. I’ve been reading up about conception vitamins and going to buy some this week to start taking after new year- does anyone have recommendations for particular brands?
Will be my first but partners 2nd, very nervous but excited at the same time. No idea what to expect but hoping to have some ladies in the same situation to chat to!

@yoomoo zeletta I think it was called, the mini pill one. I took my last one exactly 3 weeks ago.

Not looking forward to this though, first proper period in 3 years which is when I decided to have a pill break (I endured 3 periods I think before I gave in and went back on the pill!)

@JaffaCakeGal Yay! It's nice to officially start and to be able to track dates a bit! Hope it's not too bad for you. I tend to want chocolate when I'm on 🙈.

@yoomoo Oh man that's rough! Hopefully next week is better! I've had a big spring clean today, so although not relaxing... I feel better for it! I'm not sure about ovulating twice! I pretty much feel anything is possible!

@rhirhibumblebee I'm due 21st too! I reckon realistically I'll test on Friday... That will be 10dpo. But going to try and last as long as possible... It's hard!

Hope everyone is having good weekends and recuperating from first week back! I'm currently sitting in the car waiting for the baby to wake up so we can go in but also enjoying the rest...

Ok just did some research and apparently an LH opk will also show any HCG also, so can be used as a PT. Probably won't bother wasting a FRER then since my OPKs are showing nothing.
As expected but still a little disappointed 🤷🏻‍♀️

@JaffaCakeGal seems odd to say yay for someone getting AF. But yay! Hope it's not too bad, and then you can hopefully start tracking things.

@yoomoo I think I remember reading that you can ovulate twice. Not sure though. I did have a few glasses last night, and chilled with popcorn and a film. It was needed.

@lucymagoo I've read that about OPK tests too, but not sure how accurate it is.

Thanks for all the messages. I'm still bleeding, it's not a lot, but more than spotting. It seems to be dark, but then when I wipe it is red, so I have no idea. As it started around what could have been my ovulation time I would have said it was an ov bleed, but it feels like it's been going on too long and there's too much. And it feels too early for an implant bleed, and again too much.
I'll keep my fingers crossed until my AF, but my expectations are low.
The only good thing if I have to jump on the Feb bus is that DH and I are on a mini break without DD when I'm supposed to ov next. So more chance to have fun and have lots of DTD.

Felt really emotional this week so could be AF coming although I never usually get like that

DP is at work early tomo & told me text him the result - I feel really odd about texting him if positive but doubt I'd be able to wait until home.

Well according to Clue, AF is due soon. Never have guessed with how emotional and sensitive i am . Am finding tracking signs helpful to monitor what my periods are like as can't say i've ever paid a huge amount of attention especially with being on the pill previously.

@eitak22 that sounds like me, I've never paid much attention to 'symptoms', now I notice every thing

So I did another preg test this morning and it's negative - going to book a GP appointment. Rather confused what's going on with my body

@FootballAndBeer145 hopefully the docs will be able to work out what's going on. I don't get how our bodies can be so confusing. We're they always like this and we're just paying more attention now? Or are they messing with us now we're TTC?! It seems like we're all being massively confused by ourselves.

My morning has been greatly improved by wrapping a croissant around a sausage (not a euphemism )

@footballandbeer145 sounds like docs is sensible - if nothing else as soon as you have an appointment I'm sure you'll come on, always seems to be the way!!

I have had cramps and lower back pain last couple of days. OF course I'm convinced this is implantation, not due to a long physical dog walk with the buggy through mud yesterday...!

My boobs are still so sore and worse because my DH keeps lying on them or elbowing them 😭

Hey everybody, the thread's moved so fast!

AF has arrived and weirdly seems to be lighter and not as crampy as when I was on the pill/IUD.

We're still a bit nervous about properly trying this month so we'll be taking it really easy and seeing what we feel like.

@TheLastStark hey! My period is definitely lighter off the pill which I thought was strange so it's interesting to hear I'm not the only one who has found this!

I was so apprehensive about starting TTC despite really wanting a baby but now we've started I feel fine!

@yoomoo yes AF did show up on Friday night, more or less when expected. I knew I couldn't be pregnant so wouldn't have tested anyway unless it was super late! Now on CD2, not due to ovulate until 28th Jan according to Fitbit (cycles vary a bit though) so just a couple of weeks of waiting now!

@ablisha and @TheLastStark my period was ridiculously light when I stopped the pill. I actually mentioned it to the nurse when I went to my smear, she said it can be normal if you're on it for a long time as it thins the uterus lining which obviously is what is shed. However, as long as your periods are regular it is nothing to worry about with regard to conceiving. The other contributor to light periods can be iron levels though so worth upping the green veg/red meat if you're also feeling tired!

@TheLastStark I know what you mean. I'm thinking that now and this will be our 2nd. Scary wondering how we'll fit another one into our already packed lives. But I'm sure it will work. It's has to. And if you want kids you have to do it sometime. There's never a perfect time.

I seem to have stopped bleeding. Or at least for today . Feeling a bit twingy down there, and feeling quite nauseous. But I felt like that last month and it meant nothing. I think all just too sensitive to everything at the moment. Damn TWW

I'm 4 weeks off the pill now and no sign of any withdrawal. How long did it take everyone to get theirs? I'm so impatient

@lucymagoo I didn't seem to have an instant withdrawal - my period just came a month later!

@lucymagoo when I stopped it was 31 days to the withdrawal and then 45 to The first Af as such xx

Hmm well my AF was very short lived, started Sat morn, almost over by Mon afternoon! Maybe this is the withdrawal bleed? Or maybe I'm just lucky
