Anyone looking to start TTC in New Year?

Join here please! I’m still taking my pill at the moment but current packet runs out on 7th Jan so planning to start then but not really track anything officially. I’ve been reading up about conception vitamins and going to buy some this week to start taking after new year- does anyone have recommendations for particular brands?
Will be my first but partners 2nd, very nervous but excited at the same time. No idea what to expect but hoping to have some ladies in the same situation to chat to!

Dug out and recorded all my OPKs, do we think there’s a chance I ovulated around the 1st? 🧐
Might take a pregnancy test next weekend just to see

My husband to be and I are TTC our first, he is quite a lot older than me and already has kids from his marriage, it's my Christmas present

Still waiting for AF here so we can get into our first cycle of trying. I had ovulation pains on boxing Day so expecting AF today or maybe tomorrow, having my usual pre-AF signs so hoping it comes soon! Then I can start counting down to fertile week 🤣

@Lola871 first month of trying and I'm trying to remember how I usual feel each month! I've never been conscious of pains etc so it's hard

@lucymagoo I'm not sure. I know its registered as an high LH level, but I'm not sure at what level is needed for ovulation to occur?
I know on the app it shows a super high LH peak as being 79-200, and I was worried that you might need to hit that level to ovulate? But if thats the case then I might not have done. But I honestly don't know if I am talking rubbish or not!

I've been bleeding again a little bit. Seems to only happen in the day, but that could just be gravity just making me aware of it cos its not much. No idea what it is.

@ablisha I'm the same as you. No idea of what feels normal bodywise. And wondering about every twinge, even the ones I'd ignore normally

Thanks @Spark27 you're probably right, it didn't spike high enough or I missed it with the tests. We have DTD every other day so I've got my hopes up a tiny amount and will test early next week maybe

@lucymagoo, I could be talking absolute rubbish. I honestly have no idea. These are just the thoughts that are constantly going round and round in my head at the moment.
I think we're in a similar boat- I'm not sure what my peak was, I'm just hoping that us DTD in the lead up to it might have worked. It's a horrible waiting game. x

Quick question! What is everyone’s usual bbt temp? and what should it go up to if pregnant
I’m normally 35.90c before ovulation and most of the month but since ovulation I’ve been staying around 36.4. Is that high enough for pregnancy?

So if Clue is correct then we dtd twice (day26&day33) during the fertile 'week'. I used a first response test on Sunday (day40) - would that of been too early to show?

@Spark27 it's the blind leading the blind 😂 I still haven't had a withdrawal or period since coming off my pill so not likely I'm pregnant at all. I have seen a few stories of people saying they got pregnant immediately with no period though so holding onto a tiny bit of hope for this month

@FootballAndBeer145 looks like you could do a test as your period is due v soon, good luck!

@lucymagoo I did a test last Sunday (5th Jan) but was negative, I'm now wondering if I tested too early, but this cycle seems to be rather long (day44 today)

@FootballAndBeer145 Day 40 would likely have been too early at 8dpo, day 44 is 12dpo so more likely to get a positive. AF would normally be 14dpo although can vary depending on how long your luteal phase is.

Still waiting for AF here although positive signs she's on her way! Just want to get on with TTC now but still got another couple of weeks of waiting!

Morning all, just catching up!

Had some sad news yesterday, close family member had a miscarriage at 7 weeks making me feel bad about TTC for some reason, I haven’t told anyone IRL so it’s still nice to have you lovely people to chat to.

Still got no idea what’s happening with me, had the weird ovulation tests getting up to high and then going back down again but from reading online it could be that I missed the peak reading or mine just doesn’t get up that high, it seems everyone is different some never get a stronger test line than the control line and still end up pregnant 🤷🏼‍♀️ It’s all very confusing!

@lucymagoo definitely worth you trying a test next weekend I think you never know. I think you, me and @Spark27 are in a similar position.

I’ve also been feeling every single twinge in my body and wondering if that’s ovulation, I had a sharp pain on my right side yesterday and backache but could’ve been gas if it was ovulation then it does make sense with the OPK results. We won’t get to DTD until tonight due to work patterns but we did on Sunday so if they do hang about up there it might catch those
Very long way of saying I’ve still not got a bloody clue but I will test at the end of January as either way that might show something. I could’ve sworn I ovulated over Christmas too but I don’t think that’s possible! Better not end up with 2 😂

This is not good for my control freak nature all of this not knowing

@FootballAndBeer145 I agree perhaps a little early before, maybe another test this weekend might clear it up

@yoomoo I definitely don't get stronger than control lines but got pregnant, so I think either my levels are lower generally or I have a short surge! Hopefully tonight will catch it!

3dpo and I'm already impatient.... I really doubt I'll last out testing until after I'm late!! I'm terrible.

@yoomoo sorry to hear about your family friend. I'd never realised how common miscarriages were until we started trying. It's pretty scary. Hopefully she'll be OK. I know what you mean about feeling guilty. My cousin had on a while ago, and I think she's now trying again. I'm already feeling guilty in case I get pregnant before her.

@FootballAndBeer145 leaving it closer to the 14 dpo could give a more accurate result. If it's still a BFN but there's no AF I'd recommend going to the drs.

@EffRam I'm (possibly) about 3 dpo too, and I'm impatient already. Although I'm still bleeding so who knows what's going on in there. It's not loads, but enough to need a panty liner, but it brown now so guessing old blood. Maybe from ovulation? I've got no idea.

@EffRam when do you think you will test? I'm possibly 4dpo (if I ovulated) and already thinking about when 😩. I would love to be able to just wait for AF but I find it too tempting.

@Spark27 How's the spotting? Mine has stopped now! So bizarre. How many dpo will you test? Or wait for AF? My last pregnancy I got a positive at 9dpo but I don't want to test that early again ideally! 🙈

@yoomoo I'm still waiting for AF too, although generally I know my cycle pretty well now, I was expecting it to start today at the latest! Funny isn't it, next cycle I'll be wanting it to stay away but I just want to get into our first cycle of TTC.

@rhirhibumblebee spotting is still there, and seems to be getting a bit heavier, so I had no idea what's going on. My AF is due on the 21st, but I'm already counting myself as out due to the random bleeding. I suppose it might make the TWW go a bit faster as I have absolutely no expectations. Feeling a bit fed up at the moment, and got a headache. Thank god its the weekend, think I might treat myself to a glass of wine.

AF came this morning yeay! Wish it had come sooner as not seen OH since tues and will be seeing him tomorrow but at least now I can start properly tracking!

@Spark27 that could still be implantation bleeding perhaps? I wouldn't count you out until you've done a test, especially if af isn't due for 10 more days!

@rhirhibumblebee I’m knackered as well this week back at work has been a struggle! Very emotionally draining week as we had to let some people in my team go, just horrible.

No updates here really apart from being absolutely exhausted from a horrible week at work, sore nipples and backache! Just moaning really Assuming I ovulated Thursday or yesterday so fingers crossed we’ve managed to catch it! If not I guess I should get AF in next 2 weeks. I’ll aim to test weekend of 25th Jan! Couple of weeks before my birthday so will know if I can drink or not. I’m still convinced I also ovulated over Christmas - is it possible to ovulate twice?!
