Oh sorry @whatsthecraic91 trying to do too many things!!! Well the polyp is preventing the conception from happening (we think) so we've just been business as usual, monitoring everything else, but hopefully once it's gone things will happen! I can't wait.

So according to Dr google I should be dead by now . . . Both in urine suggests diabetic ketoacidosis, thing is I've never been diagnosed with diabetes! I expect to have ketones though as I've been low carb for ages . . . Very odd!

FarmerWantsABaby · 14/02/2020 16:18

Hi ladies. Jumping on this bandwagon if you don't mind. Have been watching 👀 but never commented. Just noticed @whatsthecraic91 story, I'm currently waiting on a referral from the fertility clinic in Belfast as my progesterone blood levels showed that I may not be ovulating. My GP told me it wouldn't be a long wait but now I'm worrying. I might also start to consider going private too....

whatsthecraic91 · 14/02/2020 16:33

@FarmerWantsABaby welcome!! My referral was for an internal scan, I nearly shit myself when she said that on the phone! That was for Antrim hospital clinic so maybe the Belfast one is quicker? I think it's all the strike action that has maybe made the waits longer! Just ring up and ask how long can do no harm. My GP then recommended the northern medical women's clinic in Ballymena so that's where I'm going on 26th, £150 to see him then £90 for the scan which I think is quite reasonable - Belfast fertility we're charging an arm and a leg! Are you just waiting on a initial consultation or tests?

FarmerWantsABaby · 14/02/2020 16:45

@whatsthecraic91 to be honest i haven't a clue what's going on yet because they haven't said much. I had blood tests done last month for everything and progesterone levels were very low. FBC also needs done again.
I'm in strabane and was asked if I had a preference of Altnagelvin, eniskillen or Belfast so I said Altnagelvin but I was told Belfast might be quicker for appointments. Other than that I have no idea what's happening or what for. I was just told to wait for a letter? I feel a bit up in the air 😥

whatsthecraic91 · 14/02/2020 17:24

@FarmerWantsABaby you should definitely ring just to enquire to get an idea, if it's a long waiting list ask your GP to recommend someone private near you

ToCaden · 15/02/2020 20:00

Hello guys. Back in the two week wait. Wishing everyone the best of luck for this cycle.

Lushfanatic123 · 15/02/2020 20:18

Hi all,

Can you get pains when you are ovulating?

Also what apps are best to use when TTC?

Kiza · 15/02/2020 21:16

@Lushfanatic123 yes I often get O pains, I like fertility friend for tacking pretty much everything but I also use Femometer to take photos of my OPK's as I was reading them wrong before.

Kiza · 15/02/2020 21:22

@ToCaden good luck, do you have much planned to keep you occupied?

@whatsthecraic91 over a year?!?! Oh my god that's crazy long! It baffles me how we are all part of the nhs but receive such different treatment depending upon our postcodes.
@MIW01 that sound a bit complex with the results you've had, I'll be honest I know nothing about it. What have the doctors said? From what I've read hysterscopy procedures are quite smooth and thank goodness you'll be under GA for it! And then after that things will hopefully be on the up for you ☺️

Rockthis · 15/02/2020 23:20

Hi, I'm going to be a new mom. I'm confused on when conception/ days that led to pregnancy happened. My due date is 07/16/20 based on ultrasound,I don't know my last menstrual period. Can any one help?

1990shopefulftm · 16/02/2020 11:43

decided to wait to Friday evening to test as i ll definitely be late then and if somehow I did have a BFP DH will be home and i can make him go get another test brand as I know i'd want to try another to be sure.

whatsthecraic91 · 16/02/2020 13:52

@Kiza it's crazy! So much happier now I have my appointment in just under 2 weeks! It's an initial consultation should I bring my DP with me or is there not really much point?

@1990shopefulftm when is AF due? I am due Wednesday and I don't know if I should test in the morning or not! Ovia is saying I should! But it is always better to wait until she's late but it's so hard not to test early 😫

I'm having my repeat blood test in the morning, would it show up if I'm pregnant in it at 12DPO?

1990shopefulftm · 16/02/2020 13:59

@whatsthecraic91 app says Thursday but last month was a Friday so I think it's wrong, in which case Friday evening I ll just be late . If you specifically ask them to do the HCG test then it could do, when I ve had blood for other things they can take at least a couple of days to come back so you could still do a test yourself.

Kiza · 16/02/2020 14:04

@whatsthecraic91 that's great you've got an appointment so quickly but it makes me sad that people are having to go private due to our overstretched NHS, but that's another topic!
I'd take DP with you, we both went to ours and the consultant asked him lots of questions about his physical health. He also had lots of questions too so was a good opportunity to ask everything!

FarmerWantsABaby · 16/02/2020 17:31

@whatsthecraic91 yea think I'll give my GP a buzz tomorrow! He's hard to get a hold off 😬 been looking online and there doesn't seem to be many private opportunities up my way. do no harm to ask tomorrow! I just feel so blind going into all this, there's very little information and support out there in regards to the "beginning" of your struggle to TTC if you get me?
I swear if one more person asks me about babies this day I will go off the rails! 😬🤯

whatsthecraic91 · 16/02/2020 18:04

@Kiza I think I'll take him then, he said he was scared of being a spare part so I'll tell him that thank you!!

@FarmerWantsABaby the other recommendation my GP made was the Mid Ulster Women's Health Clinic, it will be closer to you is Magherafelt I think!

Kiza · 16/02/2020 18:45

So that's all our testing now complete after the TV scan this afternoon, which seemed like a walk in the park after the HSG on Thursday.
Now just cracking back on with SMEP for the next few cycles until we get our 2nd consultant appointment to discuss our results and referral for IVF.
How's everyone's weekend been? I imagine most people have stayed indoors with this horrendous weather

whatsthecraic91 · 16/02/2020 20:03

@Kiza glad it went well! Where they able to say all looked good? Or do you have to wait to see your consultant?

Wind here would scare you! The rain hasn't been too bad tho, I think you lot are getting more than Ireland!

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend!

FarmerWantsABaby · 16/02/2020 21:31

@whatsthecraic91 thanks I'll get checking this now!
Wind is awful here too, we're on a mountain and it's a disaster 😬

ToCaden · 17/02/2020 01:52

@Kiza I certainly have a lot of stuff to be doing on the house to distract me. Rooms need painting and beds fixing, etc. Now if only I had more energy to do it.

I ventured out on Saturday. The wind was less than it was on Sunday but still brisk. The bigger issue was all the rain. Rivers of it everywhere.

@1990shopefulftm I admire your willpower. It's best to wait until after AF is late to test, but that doesn't make waiting easy.

On another topic. Has anyone found they developed a bump since starting to ttc? I don't seem to have gotten bigger anywhere else, but I do have a small constant bump the last month or so. I thought it was just bloating that happens if the egg tried and failed to implant. I had that with the first cycle rather obviously (my suspected chemical one with markedly late AF).

It's odd to have been trying for five months and to look about that pregnant, but I've done a ton of tests over that time and had what seem to be full periods.

Maybe the hormones from short chemicals are affecting it. Either that or my food has started to stick to me more than before.

MIW01 · 17/02/2020 09:37

@Kiza I hope all the results are clear and then you can just focus on the IVF referral. For me I think in a nutshell I have oestrogen dominance, which has caused the polyp, which is blocking conception and needs removing! 🤞that's it and then all will be hunky dory!

@1990shopefulftm I know it's tough but I do think it is better to wait until AF is due! I've not had a positive OPK yet this month but expect 1 soon so will be joining you in the 2WW shortly. Though Im not expecting anything to happen with my OP in March.

@ToCaden that sounds like a stress belly to me! I have a permanent one. Pesky cortisol and epinephrine and a few other hormones doing their dance which goes off beat when stress levels rise. Also linked to sleep deprivation, poor nutrition, dehydration etc.

Kiza · 17/02/2020 17:57

@whatsthecraic91 she said she's not a doctor so isn't allowed to analyse, she takes the photos and sends them to the consultant 🤷🏼‍♀️

@ToCaden wow a lot of stuff indeed! Yeah hard to find the energy and motivation to do that on top of a day at work and it's winter!

@MIW01 do you think there's anything you can do for that such as evening primrose oil in the follicular phase, or progesterone patches?

So I thought I was gearing up to O with a bit of ewcm and darker opks but this morning stark white opk and dry! Cd 13.
Have got a swollen belly today and a bit cramps which I'm not sure is left over cramps from the HSG or O pains?

Lottiepink · 17/02/2020 18:19

Hi everyone,
Just catching up 😊

@whatsthecraic91 that's great they found his results eventually! And that they are good news, great that you have a consultation booked so soon too, that's fab! Crazy the wait time on the NHS though, such a shame it's all postcode lottery :(

@Kiza pleased you've had both tests, and that HSG sounded horrendous 😱 do you know what the wait times are for the IVF referrals?

I'm 10dpo today and feeling a bit like af is coming, was really crampy for a bit this afternoon, not due until Friday though. Weird though, I have felt a bit sick but feel like I have something stuck in my throat, then driving home I got this funny taste, and all I can describe it As is a bit metallic (I know that's a big sign in pregnancy, but surely not this early) only happened for a few mins so I'm not sure and not getting excited about it. To be honest, after this long and no hint of a positive I am incredibly doubtful. But still strange ha!

whatsthecraic91 · 17/02/2020 18:41

@Lottiepink I couldn't wait so had to go private and the cost is a lot lower than I expected so that's a plus! Ooo metallic taste is meant to be a classic symptom! It's so hard not to read into everything isn't it! Are you going to wait until she's late to test?
Same here even when I test now and get a BFN I'm just like 🤷🏼‍♀️ no emotion at all, suppose that's a good think in a way and I'll get a surprise some day!

@Anny27 how are you? Did you get better in time for ovulation and get some DTD in?

Anny27 · 17/02/2020 18:53

Hey! @whatsthecraic91

I have been a bit frustrated tbh with lack of ovulation untill now.....we will have to see whether my temps rise in the morning but I think I ovulated either early this morning before I did the opk.

My opk never reached "peak" but it very nearly did. It also didnt reach peak the cycle that I fell pregnant haha! So maybe my LH surge sometimes doesnt meet the threshold. But we managed to DTD the past few days so hoping it's worked:)

@Lottiepink the metallic taste sounds promissing!!!
