Being unrealistic with myself

ScaredFlamingo · 21/10/2019 20:52

Wondering if anyone else experienced this... I am already setting unrealistic expectations for myself. I had my coil out 2 weeks ago, had sex maybe twice since and for some reason am disappointed I am not pregnant ... any tips on how to not do this to myself??

@goodforbrian @27andcounting
Hold out!! If you get AF then at least it’s a new cycle, better than a negative test. Fingers crossed though!!!

How are you both feeling?

I’ve noticed my sex drive has dropped massively over last 6 month. I used to want it all the time, now I’m just like “I’ll save it until Friday because that’s when I’m most fertile” hahaha! I’ve planned a date night with the OH on Friday as I’m due to ovulate Saturday or Sunday so hoping I’ll time it right haha!

goodforbrian · 06/02/2020 09:58

@ScaredFlamingo thank you! I didn't do a test this morning (I am very proud of myself ha!) and I will test tomorrow as long as AF doesn't show 🤞🏽
Date night sounds lovely, I am sure you will time it right! Good luck and definitely keep us posted. I completely agree and understand about 'saving' sex for fertile week! What are we like? Haha.
I am ok, symptom spotting like a loon again. I'm bloated and hormonal but that could be true for AF or a BFP, only tomorrow will tell I suppose!

27andcounting · 06/02/2020 19:59

@goodforbrian fingers crossed for tomorrow for you! Let us know how it goes.

I'm bored of waiting but I have the worst patience ever! Trying not to symptom spot or anything but I'm bored. Work is not helping with keeping my mind off it at the moment 😩

@ScaredFlamingo hope date night goes well tomorrow 🤞🏻🤞🏻

goodforbrian · 07/02/2020 08:37

BFN 😢

ScaredFlamingo · 07/02/2020 10:26

@goodforbrian oh hun Im so sorry !! But... it’s still early and even if it is correct then you’re due to start AF soon - new cycle!! Everything happens for a reason.. your body is waiting for that ultimate time and best egg and sperm combo!

@27andcounting How are you doing?

Date night was cancelled in favour for us both to have a lads/girls night out separately.. I think we both need it and we’ll get to DTD tonight when we both get home, or in the morning.

I took your advice about only having sex during fertile period and told my partner that I’m gonna be fertile (for informational purposes only ;) haha!) so see if makes a difference!

OP posts:
ScaredFlamingo · 08/02/2020 11:41

@goodforbrian @27andcounting DTD this morning ladies! Fingers crossed the timing was right !!

OP posts:
27andcounting · 09/02/2020 20:35

@ScaredFlamingo fingers crossed are doing the TWW now? Best of luck

@goodforbrian AF yet? Or even better BFP?

My original expect AF would've been tomorrow but I'm not sure still got another week from when I had the positive OPK so providing AF hasn't come I plan to test next Sunday/Monday

ScaredFlamingo · 10/02/2020 12:04

@27andcounting Yea, I was predicted ovulation yesterday so I’m now about 14-16 days from period. I had cramps yesterday so pretty sure I did ovulate then. Fingers crossed now that we got the timing right...!

How are you feeling?
@goodforbrian Any update?

OP posts:
27andcounting · 10/02/2020 15:23

@ScaredFlamingo best of luck!

Mine seems to really be dragging so now I'm back to symptom spotting, and I always seems to convince myself it's different this time, like my boobs somehow ache differently or my cramps didn't feel like this last month.... I'm probably just making it all up haha 🤣

1 week to go! I want try and hold off for a long as I can (think I should be testing Sunday/Monday)

ScaredFlamingo · 10/02/2020 16:34

@27andcounting Considering my exhaustion today I definitely ovulated yesterday and had sex Saturday morning so I should be good time wise, it’s whether it wants to stick on now haha!

Haha it’s hard not to to be fair!! Everything crossed for you!! X

goodforbrian · 11/02/2020 23:21

Hey @ScaredFlamingo and @27andcounting
Sorry, I have just needed a bit of time to myself. This is going to sound really silly but not getting pregnant this month has hit me really hard. Like, really hard. I am on my last day of AF so I should be gearing my myself up this next cycle but I just feel like I can't 😢 I don't know why I am feeling this way and I am hoping I will snap out of it.
From the bottom of my heart I wish you both the best of luck with those BFPs this month. I just feel I might have to have a break from it all x

ScaredFlamingo · 12/02/2020 11:35

@goodforbrian Oh hun, I have been a little worried about you. That’s fair enough if you need a break, do what you need to do. We’re here when you’re feeling better and want to come back. I’m sending hugs!!! It will happen for you, and you will have the most perfect baby when it does xxx

OP posts:
27andcounting · 12/02/2020 20:42

@goodforbrian so sorry to hear this 😞 like @ScaredFlaming said we'll be here. Whether you just want to talk about it and have a good rant about TTC from what I've read it's healthy to have a break everyone now and again else you just keep going round I. Circles. Funnily enough me and my partner spoke about maybe stopping after March and planning a wedding instead.... but as we've got holiday booked in April we are going to use that as the last month TTC before having a break to plan and save for a wedding.

I wish you all the best and wait for you to return when your feeling back into it maybe you need a cycle or two to just reset xx

ScaredFlamingo · 13/02/2020 19:01

@goodforbrian and @27andcounting I am sending all the love and hugs to you both! I have to say it was nice to have a break from TTC, even if it was a forced break. I am finding this TTW a bit easier for it.

I am also now having a flare up of my Crohn’s disease at moment!

OP posts:
27andcounting · 13/02/2020 22:53

@ScaredFlamingo glad to hear you've found it a bit easier since your break.

I feel so terrible sharing this since GoodForBrian has had a difficult time this cycle. But I've got a faint positive on a cheapie and then again on a FRER. Currently 10DPO so looks like the OPK was my ovulation!! Really wanted to share it with you both.

Being unrealistic with myself
27andcounting · 13/02/2020 22:54

Picture doesn't show it as much as IRL

ScaredFlamingo · 13/02/2020 23:53

@27andcounting omg congratulations!! I can see that line!!! Ahhh so exciting!!! Did you note any symptoms? I’m only 5dpo but I’ve had cramping all day - enough for a hot water bottle.. it could literally be anything .. I thought was my Crohn’s flaring but not had any other symptoms.

OP posts:
27andcounting · 15/02/2020 08:30

@ScaredFlamingo thanks 😊 and not too many actually not like you read on here. Mainly just my nipples were so painful (TMI) didn't have any implantation bleed though but apparently these are rarer then lead to believe.

Also I had a bit nausea and feels like it's slowing picking up day by day. And lastly surprisingly still got cramps, just just ever so slightly off like they were cramps but didn't really feel like AF.

I keep testing everyday because I'm so worried.

ScaredFlamingo · 15/02/2020 11:18

@27andcounting Yea I heard that actually, that it’s when you don’t feel pregnant that you usually are haha! I’m about 7dpo today and only thing I’ve noticed is bad headaches, bit of cramping yesterday and Thursday and I woke up with a blocked nostril this morning but that could be anything so I’m not really getting any hopes up!! My nipples are a little sore but nothing to write home about. It would be lucky if we managed to get preg considering only had sex once this fertile period haha!

I imagine but trying and relax, what will be will be and I am sure it will all be fine!!

OP posts:
27andcounting · 16/02/2020 20:44

@ScaredFlamingo @goodforbrian
Also forgot to tell you both, we used Pre-Seed lubricant around my ovulation (when I thought I was and when the stick said I was) I don't know whether that's what did it or not but thought I would recommend (although it says to use 3ml but I only used like 1.5 each time)

goodforbrian · 16/02/2020 22:25

Aww @27andcounting I am so happy for you 🥰 I am so sorry I made you feel weird about posting but honestly seeing your update made me smile and gives me hope.
I am sorry to you and @ScaredFlamingo for being a bit quiet/doing a flounce lol.
I'm ok. Tomorrow starts the beginning on my fertile week. I honestly don't know if I can go through it again. I'll see how I feel.
Sorry again about running away. I hope you understand x

27andcounting · 16/02/2020 22:38

@goodforbrian I'm good and never feel like you need to apologise, it's a tough road and sometimes you just need to take a step back to gather your thoughts. The literally the best thing about Mumsnet is nobody is judgemental for you doing what you need to but we will always be here to support whether to it's share news, update us on your journey or just to have a good old rant.

Just do it for the sex, get as many orgasms as you can and if it works great if not least you will of had a satisfying week in other ways 🤣🤣

ScaredFlamingo · 17/02/2020 08:40

@goodforbrian as @27andcounting said ... there is no need to apologise! We have all been there, and taking a break is sometimes the best thing for your own mental health!! And agreed, just enjoy having sex with your partner, don’t put pressure on for it to achieve anything but orgasms haha!

I think I’m out this month. I don’t feel particularly pregnant haha! I’ve had some twinges and prickling feelings in my lower abdomen since 5/6dpo, I’m now like 8/9dpo and had a dull ache on my right side last night, my boobs were a little sore and lots of cm but woke up this morning and nothing. Think I’ve been overthinking every twinge haha!

OP posts:
27andcounting · 18/02/2020 13:20

@ScaredFlamingo so sorry to hear that :( you're not out till you're out.... I don't get people that say 'oh I just knew I was pregnant' or that feeing pregnant feeling I never got it and even now I only know I am because of the tests and then the nausea 🤢🤢🤢

ScaredFlamingo · 18/02/2020 15:03

@27andcounting If I’m honest, I’ve felt more pregnant previous months before AF. I actually feel generally better than I usually do haha! I’ve still got the odd twinge in my lower abdomen but other than that, nothing... I did a FRER yesterday and was bfn but I would have been 7/8dpo so unlikely I would have got a BFP anyway.

How are you getting on? Is the nausea bad??
