Being unrealistic with myself

ScaredFlamingo · 21/10/2019 20:52

Wondering if anyone else experienced this... I am already setting unrealistic expectations for myself. I had my coil out 2 weeks ago, had sex maybe twice since and for some reason am disappointed I am not pregnant ... any tips on how to not do this to myself??

So I’m about a week past (estimated) ovulation, and 9 days before my period. I had some nausea over weekend, I’m knackered and I’ve just started feeling some cramps... please keep everything crossed that they’re implantation cramps!

Everything keeping everything crossed for you @ScaredFlamingo!!
@goodforbrian I know exactly what you mean I keep telling myself to keep it to myself... but two sister-in laws and a best friend later I'm not too sure I can follow my own rules.

Deli111 · 18/11/2019 18:26

Ooh that’s good! Here’s hoping for your bfp. Well, I bought the boots ovulation kit (the sticks you pee on) and I haven’t gotten a single positive one so I have no idea about ovulation this month....

ScaredFlamingo · 19/11/2019 08:48

@Deli111 I’ve not used them (I cramp when I ovulate so can tell that way) - are they reliable??

ScaredFlamingo · 19/11/2019 08:49

@goodforbrian I know, I told myself that this month I wouldn’t over think... yet I spend majority of my day looking at symptoms...!!!
@27andcounting - did the same!! Told my boyfriend we would keep it quiet; people keep telling me that he’s told them - I’ve been a little better but not as quiet as I had planned to be haha!

ScaredFlamingo · 19/11/2019 08:53

Woke up this morning with what feels like a hangover (not had alcohol in weeks)...! Either I’m on my way to a BFP or my body just hates me haha!

OP posts:
Deli111 · 19/11/2019 12:35

I wouldn’t say they are reliable, I haven’t had a single positive and should have ovulated by now. Sorry, I don’t know how to reply to someone on here! Xx when are you going to test?

ScaredFlamingo · 19/11/2019 13:15

@deli111 I just bought an early response test but I’m going to try and hold out until Friday morning!

OP posts:
27andcounting · 19/11/2019 18:52

@ScaredFlamingo we'll keep us posted! I hope Friday rolls round quickly for you!
@Deli111 I brought some internet cheapies but also haven't had a clear yes on them yet.... I test everyday to see if I can really gage when my
Ovulation will be. Into my two week wait now but I don't think this month will be it.

Chlosavxox · 19/11/2019 18:53

I got pregnant first month after coming off the pill and I'm pregnant again now on my 2nd cycle - it's defiantly possible but I'm VERY lucky! I think the average is 6-12 months Smile

ScaredFlamingo · 20/11/2019 09:38

Woken up and feeling not feeling pregnant today! Although I can’t stand thought of eating eggs but that could be variety of reasons.

OP posts:
27andcounting · 21/11/2019 18:51

@ScaredFlamingo how long you got to wait before you test?

@Chlosavxox well I hope I'm as lucky as you! Congratulations though Grin how early were your first symptoms?

ScaredFlamingo · 21/11/2019 21:00

@27andcounting technically I could do the early response test tomorrow but I’m nervous to do it and get a negative!!

OP posts:
goodforbrian · 21/11/2019 21:50

Good luck @ScaredFlamingo I reckon you should take an early response test tomorrow and at least if it's negative you can console yourself in the fact it's early and could change? I'm out this month... AF reared her ugly head this morning grrrrr 🙈

ScaredFlamingo · 22/11/2019 07:56

@goodforbrian Oh man! Next month!!!!
I did an early test this morning... BFN so maybe next month!

OP posts:
goodforbrian · 22/11/2019 12:53

@ScaredFlamingo you are still in with a chance! When is AF due for you? And yes fingers crossed me next month! 3rd month lucky hopefully x

ScaredFlamingo · 22/11/2019 15:46

@goodforbrian I’m due on Wednesday/Thursday next week so only 10dpo (if that!) so yes... probably too early either way. Will try and hold out until Friday next week.
Yes 3 months next month for me too.
We probably just need to relax...! Easier said then done!!

@27andcounting ah I wish I did have luck - my body's fine at getting pregnant it's just staying pregnant that's the problem, so hoping I don't lose this baby too! My first signs are always sore boobs + period like cramps (which I only normally get once I'm actually on my period)

Kimberleah8 · 22/11/2019 18:53

I was quite disappointed the first month of officially TTC when it didnt happen. About to ovulate for my second cycle soon. I need to chill. I read its about 1 in 3 chance even when you DTD during appropriate times.

ScaredFlamingo · 23/11/2019 08:49

@Kimberleah8 I didn’t know that?! Thank you!!
Ugh my partner doesn’t have a particularly high sex drive... top that with the stress of ttc and I’m not sure we’ll ever get there. Have to remind him “you have to have sex to get pregnant” haha!

ScaredFlamingo · 23/11/2019 13:10

Some real nausea has kicked in today... let’s see if just something I ate or a new symptom!!

OP posts:
ScaredFlamingo · 23/11/2019 15:32

I caved and tested. BFN 😢

OP posts:
27andcounting · 23/11/2019 19:52

@ScaredFlamingo don't give up hope yet! Wait and see if AF comes first!

ScaredFlamingo · 23/11/2019 19:55

@27andcounting I know, have to keep reminding myself I’m still early!! Having some dizzy spells as well today... partner keeps asking if I’m ok as have seemed a bit “off” the last couple days!

OP posts:
ScaredFlamingo · 23/11/2019 19:56

@27andcounting How are you getting on?
