I thought I'd start a new thread as the other one is full. Sorry if I've missed anyone out.

@RosettaR I take coQ10, lots of sites/books recommend it so I am sure it is fine to take while ttc. X

Mrs71 · 08/10/2019 20:32

@starkid good luck and let us know how it goes.

@RosettaR that's not too bad. I'll enquire about going to see someone soon as I'm back. I'm not waiting till December to see what she will want to say. If she calls me back I'll speak to her if she doesn't I'm going private. I also talk coq10 my acupuncture lady recommended it to me.

@FlapJackered I know! I've never even had a hint of a line. I'm going to go see my gp for a referral to the fertility clinic and go see a endocrinologist privately regarding the thyroid. Even if I get referred to the fertility clinic I don't even know how long the wait would be.

@Mrs71 I've never even done a pregnancy test because in 14 cycles af has never been more than a day late. Not as long as you two though I know.

I now don't think I'll be able to have ivf until February, because of the way my cycles fall with Christmas. Apparently the process is you have a planning appointment, then the first day of your next period after that you have some blood tests and scans. Then on day 21 after that you start on the drugs to supress your hormones. Then after 2-3 weeks of that you start the drugs to stimulate eggs. So it is now not physically possible for us to get everything done before Christmas, and I assume they will shut over Christmas (plus not sure I really want to spend Christmas having ivf). Feeling very disheartened now and wish I'd known this sooner.

Plus af has arrived. I hate this.

Maisy24 · 08/10/2019 22:11

@Mrs71 hello! 31 isn't old in the scheme of things but every year passing just feels awful doesn't it. I just can't wait to get husbands SA results back so I can go back to my doctors and make sure I get referred.

@RosettaR hope you are ok, I know it's easier said than done but try and focus on what's to come, and think you can enjoy Christmas and then start the new year going into IVF. You have a plan now so you can take the pressure off yourself and try and work towards the plan. Have fun with SO in the mean time and be grateful you have each-other. This is how I'm trying to stay positive and get through it. Smile

I have bought so many different vitamins etc in the past year I get lost with all the recommendations 😫, I have coq10 but not currently taking it, I am taking 2 fertility smart supplements (we bought 6 months worth so carrying on with it), vitamin E, folic acid and then soya isoflavones just day 2-5. Should I take coq10 as well do you think?

KatBeCool · 08/10/2019 23:42

@maisy24 I noticed that I forget things without all these reminders for temping and such. I think I'm a bit too relaxed haha.

@RosettaR I take CoQ10, it's supposed to be good for you. But I don't overdo it, I take whatever is the daily dose. My consultant is more concerned about questionable herbs, I definitely don't do any of that.

ckc45d10 · 09/10/2019 15:19

Just wanted to chime in about the questions on CoQ10. CoQ10 is naturally produced by the body and acts as an antioxidant as well. It is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding because it has not been researched. This does not mean that it is not safe, but the general recommendation is to ask your doctor.

KatBeCool · 09/10/2019 16:05

@starkid as painful as my HSG was, as soon as it was done, I could do anything I wanted. It may cramp a bit here and there but it's like 2 out of 10 at the worst. You can take 800 mg of ibuprofen about an hour to two hours before the procedure, it'll help. Good luck! So great you don't have to wait until next cycle.

starkid · 09/10/2019 16:22

@KatBeCool - thanks yes I'm so happy I can do it this cycle, was resigned to waiting til they called yesterday. I'm sure it'll be fine, have been through far worse procedures 😂 think will still prefer the afternoon off and I've got the holiday to use so why not 😎

starkid · 10/10/2019 11:48

Sorry double post.
HSG all done. Don't know what size speculum they used but I bled a lot and it really hurt, felt like they'd gotten the thickest equipment possible to ram up there 😭 the dye bit was fine and quick. They can't give me results yet, the consultant will receive them, but saw the dye did go through at least part of it on the pic.

RosettaR · 10/10/2019 14:14

@starkid sorry to hear it was so painful, but it's good that you managed to tolerate it and got it done. Fingers crossed you hear from the consultant fairly soon.

starkid · 10/10/2019 14:49

@RosettaR - thank you! Yes I wasn't expecting any pain for that part- think they usually use a smaller speculum! Shock
She also asked whether I'd ever had any surgery on my cervix while she was doing it, then sounded sort-of intrigued/puzzled when I said no. Not sure what to make of that, if anything... But yeah, fingers-crossed for results soon. From the picture I saw quickly, it looked like there was definitely dye through the right tube, couldn't see anything the other side.
Am wondering if all the blood might have been from clearing stuff/cleaning the cervix of any blockage? I don't know, I might be reaching. Don't get anything like that during other investigations/smears. I know some blood after HSG is common though.
Just glad to be home relaxing, wasn't expecting them to rip me a new one while down there! Shock

bunhead34 · 10/10/2019 16:36

@starkid sorry it was painful, sounds horrible but at least it's over now!
I guess it will be my turn after my consultant appointment!

Does anyone know if fertility clinics usually do laparoscopy too?
Just wondering if I'll have to go through my gp if I want one.

A friend gave birth this week, another just Announced pregnancy.
Hooooooww????!

KatBeCool · 10/10/2019 16:59

@starkid ohh that sounds like great news! If it was done quick, your tubes are definitely not blocked. And if the dye part didn't hurt, that's another sign that everything is good. Usually it'll hurt if the tube is blocked because of the pressure, plus they usually wait to see maybe if it'll clear out, it one of my tubes extra time to clear, maybe another minute compared to the other one. Honestly, while we're all here hoping that a problem can be discovered and fixed, blocked tubes is definitely not one of them. So happy for you!

starkid · 10/10/2019 17:22

@bunhead34 - sorry you're surrounded by babies/pregnancy!
@KatBeCool - yeah obviously would be great if there's no problem there- will just mean further investigations into what is going wrong...

queenqueenqueen · 10/10/2019 17:33

Does anyone know if it's normal to start your period v soon after starting to take Levothyroxine? I wasn't due on ☹️

KatBeCool · 10/10/2019 18:31

@queenqueenqueen it shouldn't be related. But if anything, it makes things better. I know you're very concerned about taking levothyroxine, don't be. This medication is very helpful and effective and it will not harm you. Stay positive.

So I had my scan today, cd10. I have 7 follicles, SEVEN!!! Three on the right and four on the left. The last two cycles the left one produced none, and this time it has four. They're still around 14-15mm so they're having me do another gonal f injection and come back tomorrow for another scan. Lining was only 7mm though :( Barely adequate.

queenqueenqueen · 10/10/2019 18:36

Thanks @KatBeCool 😘

starkid · 10/10/2019 19:04

@KatBeCool - hey, the amount is going up! :)
Also we're cycle buddies again

@KatBeCool that's great about your follicles. It's amazing how much it can change from one month to the next. Sorry about your lining. If it's adequate you never know.

I agree @queenqueenqueen, I started levothyroxine a couple of weeks ago and I haven't had any change to my cycles. It's not something I've read about either. How early was it? I once had a 2-week cycle and the doctor said as long as it gets back into a normal rhythm afterwards, not to worry.

queenqueenqueen · 10/10/2019 22:43

Yeah @rosettar, makes it a 2 week cycle for me (well 17 days) very strange 😕

RosettaR · 11/10/2019 08:00

@queenqueenqueen I think you should check with your GP just in case. They will probably say the same as mine but still worth checking.

Mrs71 · 11/10/2019 21:34

@starkid how big was the speculum? 😱 Sorry it was painful for you! Least the dye bit was ok. Hopefully you'll hear from the consultant soon.

@KatBeCool good news about your follicles. sorry about the lining. Can this get better?

@RosettaR February still isn't too far away. I know it sounds ages away but it will come round a lot sooner than you think. I know it's easier for me to say that though.

@Maisy24 31 isn't that old but I can't help but always have it in the back of my mind. I was very naive to think I'd fall pregnant easily and have a baby before 30.

I'm still away at the moment booked a gp appointment for 2 weeks time to push for a referral to the fertility clinic.🤞

@Mrs71 - I didn't see it, but have had a couple of smears and a speculum up there for the chlamydia test only 2 weeks ago and it honestly felt triple the size Shock think they usually get a smaller one out for me... I know they did for the chlamydia test for sure (doesn't bode well for future vaginal birth fun does it Confused 😂 )

KatBeCool · 12/10/2019 00:03

@Mrs71 apparently it CAN get better! Just one day later and my lining today was 9mm!!! That's amazing! But I suppose having seven follicles helps since they produce a ton of oestrogen. There were still seven today, 13-15.5mm. So trigger is Saturday and IUI on Monday.
