So my blood test results are in, amh is 12.9, last time it was 10.9. That's still low but I am so relieved it's not gone down!

Estradiol is 1,222 which is above the reference range. I was worried it would be low! I'm not sure if it's just timing, the day after the test I had a positive opk so I guess that's the highest it would be. But I am seeing an endocrinologist on Friday so can ask. Can it be a problem if estradiol is too high?

bunhead34 · 24/09/2019 16:33

I've just had a message in a WhatsApp group that a friend is pregnant. She's the last one (apart from me) to have a baby in the last year.
I feel gutted 😭😭😭

starkid · 24/09/2019 16:54

@bunhead34 - I'm sorry to hear that, must be so tough for you :( xx

ceebee21 · 24/09/2019 17:09

@Mrs71 Sorry to jump on the post.... I noticed you were talking about thyroid levels... I cant find the original thread so just wanted to check in and see if you have had any complications etc. I have an underactive thyroid and going through MMC... xx

Mrs71 · 24/09/2019 18:53

@RosettaR I know. I've felt really down these past couple of days. I was feeling so positive this month AF came today so I'm just thinking I have holiday to look forward to and it a new cycle. Good news about your bloods.

@bunhead34 I know how hard it is! It's the worst feeling in the world but we will all get there.

@ceebee21 no need to apologise. Sorry to hear about your mmc. I only found out about my thyroid when I had bloods done to check for fertility issues etc. My TSH levels were 0.03 so mine is over active. I got put on 50mg propylthiouracil. Just had a blood test done on Friday after taking the meds for 4 weeks but haven't heard back from the consultant yet. I'm hoping it's improved as it is causing an effect on my fertility.

@bunhead34 I know exactly how you feel xx My best friend announced she was pregnant last week. She's 12 weeks along and only started trying in June. I want to feel really pleased, but it feels a bit gutting at the same time!

Hycosy tomorrow. I'm purposely avoiding reading anything about them. Will be glad when this cycle is over!!

Mrs71 · 24/09/2019 22:20

@bunhead34 good luck with the Hycosy. Let us know how it goes!

Thanks @Mrs71 😊

KatBeCool · 25/09/2019 00:17

@PineappleC good luck tomorrow!

@ceebee21 a couple of us here have underactive thyroid and taking medication. It's easily managed, just see your gp.

@RosettaR day of positive opk is the worst time to check for estradiol, CD3 is usually when they test for it. But great news about your AMH!

@bunhead34 there are usually a few symptoms for endo, it's possible not to have any but it's rare.

Lina365 · 25/09/2019 05:22

@bunhead34 I know how you feel. I almost can't believe it whenever someone close to me announces their pregnancy! There are so many of them, and all at the same time! I used to be indifferent to all the baby talk among friends but now I just worry about feeling like a total outsider. I hope your friends are able to support you (in case you've told them you're trying).

Lina365 · 25/09/2019 05:28

@bunhead34 My previous gynecologist found endonetriomas (chocolate cysts) in a scan and was able to measure them. The next doctor said they could be anything. But she was worried my other symptoms might be an indication of deep endo somewhere in the back, but there's no way to see it in a scan.

There's a helpful podcast episode on endo by a US fertility doctor Natalie Crawford, it's called As a woman. She also has lots of other topics related to fertility.

Lina365 · 25/09/2019 05:38

@PineappleC Good luck with the procedure, I'm sure it'll be fine! 🙂

It's 14 dpo and AF should be here but all I have is red spotting, which is usual for me before AF. No cramps. I took my temperature this morning, and it had shot up to what it usually is right after ovulation. I've never had a temp rise at this stage, so I'm getting my hopes up!

bunhead34 · 25/09/2019 09:26

@Lina365 thanks, I'll have a look for that podcast!
I did have some investigations a few years ago as I was concerned that my period had gotten very painful and heavier. But I only had a scan. I should have pushed more but I wasn't ttc then and they just put me on the pill.
Since coming off the pill to ttc I've had upto a week of dark brown blood before my actual period, which is getting increasingly painful. I've read that the dark brown can be old blood from bursting cysts?!
I also get diarrhea (TMI!) on my period (another symptom), and generally feel sick a lot (another symptom!) can't believe I'm only just putting these pieces together now tbh 🙄

Fingers crossed for you af doesn't show her ugly face!

starkid · 25/09/2019 10:20

@Lina365 - ooh fingers crossed!

Lina365 · 25/09/2019 10:36

Thanks for the good luck wishes - it's not just spotting anymore, though! Not full-blown AF because the cramps haven't started, but it's heavy enough that I'm out. My Natural Cycles app tells me "Your temperature is higher than usual"...

I also called the clinic, they said they can't fit me in to a HSSG this cycle.

PineappleC · 25/09/2019 16:25

Thanks very much all 😊 It was okay actually, no more painful than the slight discomfort of a smear test and was fairly relaxed, and pretty interesting to see the screen! Deep breaths help a lot!

Everything was absolutely fine, good tubes, good lining, good follicles etc. They confirmed i ovulated when i thought too. Only weird thing was that my uterus is arcuate. Apparently not really an issue but a variation of "normal" 🤔

Bloody glad it's over, and once DH repeats his SA next week we can get on with proper referral!!

starkid · 25/09/2019 16:58

@PineappleC - great news!! :)

Lina365 · 25/09/2019 17:56

@bunhead34 It's a tricky disease and I wish it got the research funding it deserves. Until they come up with a way to diagnose it without surgery it's all so unclear. Also, different doctors say different things. The last doctor I saw told me the spotting is not related to endometriosis, while the one before her said it can definitely be endo messing up with hormones and causing the spotting before AF.

I can't decide if AF is here or not. I'm not full on bleeding and I have absolutely no pain, which would be the first in 5 years.

KatBeCool · 26/09/2019 10:04

@PineappleC a version of normal is still normal! Congrats on results!

@Lina365 AF without pain is a nice feature. Did it get any more AF like? Spotting does not always mean endo.

@bunhead34 can't believe I'm saying this, but (occasional) diarrhea is normal during AF. As for brown blood, there might be a few causes. Ultrasound can certainly tell you if there are cysts.

So 8dpo today, got a temp dip but still above cover line. I just wish these things wouldn't tease us. But it made me wonder... When the implantation happens, do you get the dip after or during? I felt a few very sharp and noticeable stitch-like sensations yesterday, which I felt before but obviously it didn't yield a bfp. But I can't ignore that I definitely feel those. Gah!

RosettaR · 26/09/2019 10:13

@PineappleC that's great news it all looks good!

@Lina365 that does sound strange. Is your temp still high? You could do a pregnancy test to try to work out what's going on, but I can understand not wanting to get your hopes up.

I'm feeling miserable today, I think that means I've ovulated as I'm always in a good mood in FW. The pictures of Meghan also didn't help.

starkid · 26/09/2019 11:06

@KatBeCool - I'm 8dpo today too! Not gotten my sore boobs yet like I usually would (they'll probably start throbbing now I've said that!) and due Monday.

I've got my fertility consultant appointment tomorrow morning finally! Have written lots of notes on my phone about my cycles, and also printed off research into decreased fertility after pelvic surgery/colitis surgery, so feel all set. Hopefully it'll be a quick yes to the dye test and further blood tests done asap, then be sent on my way! 🤞

KatBeCool · 26/09/2019 14:51

@starkid no sore boobs for me either! They're maybe just a little sensitive but not like normal super pain.

KatBeCool · 26/09/2019 14:52

@starkid good luck on your appointment. Will they be doing a scan?

starkid · 26/09/2019 15:04

@KatBeCool - nah, I already had the ultrasound so he should be talking through the results from that and sorting next steps going forward
