I thought I'd start a new thread as the other one is full. Sorry if I've missed anyone out.

@orangeloo thank you, hopefully today, if not I have an early appointment tomorrow before my flight home.

@starkid that bitch...

So apparently it takes three months to grow an egg, which is why they suggest starting supplements early. I don't know whether my mountain of pills, tablets, and caplets made a difference, but here's the list that was suggested: myo inositol with d-chiro inositol, NAC (N-acetyl-Cysteine) 600 mg, fish oil 3000 mg minimum, selenium, K2, melatonin (preferably taken together with inositol), bioastin (hawaiian astaxanthin), CoQ10, plus the prenatal multi, and D (do a blood test for correct dosage). They also had l-arginine but I just couldn't handle more stuff.

Wow that's one hell of a list! Shock
I'm only taking the liquid pregnacare at the moment. I'll see if my consultant suggests anything specific after our call in the next couple of weeks.

KatBeCool · 22/09/2020 17:22

@starkid that is indeed a long list. Most important ones are CoQ10, NAC (it smells like a swamp), fish oil, and prenatal, and D if you're low. NAC is good for men too.

Wow @KatBeCool hats off to you that is a long list and some of them I have never even heard of haha. Flight home? I didn't realise you were having treatment abroad. What country?

KatBeCool · 22/09/2020 22:39

@orangeloo hah yeah I had to separate them into several piles throughout the day, considering that myo inositol is 4 huge capsules all by itself. I'm in Mexico, on the beach! Most food places are closed though due to covid, that dampened the experience.

@KatBeCool god I though I had a lot of pills to swallow haha. Mexico on a beach how lovely. Was it because it worked out cheaper to go over there if you don't mind me asking?

KatBeCool · 23/09/2020 14:45

@orangeloo Mexico is one of the cheaper countries. And also one that lets people in during these times. Unfortunately, out of 12 eggs only six were mature, they all fertilised thankfully. They sure aren't lying about losing up to 60% at every stage.

Report
orangeloo · 23/09/2020 16:15

@KatBeCool ah yes of course. I'm sorry 6 weren't mature. 6 fertilised is still a good number to go forward with. Really got fingers crossed for those 6 🤞🏼. Keep us posted x

Hey @KatBeCool @KatBeCool how are you both getting on. No news for me Just waiting on my consultation.

Report
starkid · 06/10/2020 14:59

Hey, I had my consultation today. The doctor said we had good chances due to our age and not really being any problems from our tests etc. from what she could see. 8-9 follicles in each ovary, AMH result average, sperm analysis just showed his morphology was at the lower end of average but still fine. She estimated 42% chance of success for us with IVF. And in my county I get 1 fresh cycle and 1 frozen cycle on the NHS.

She's said for me to call on the 1st day of my cycle in November (although unlikely to have a slot available) or if not December :)

KatBeCool · 06/10/2020 17:12

@orangeloo not the greatest news for us. Only one embryo made it to day 5, thankfully high quality. I'm going back in the beginning of December to get it implanted. I need it to work! They offered to freeze on day 3 when we still had four embryos but I'm glad I didn't.

starkid · 06/10/2020 17:48

@KatBeCool - ahhh fingers crossed it's a lucky embryo!

orangeloo · 06/10/2020 18:55

@starkid oh that all sounds promising and moving in the right direction. Doesn't sound like it will be too long of a wait either.

@KatBeCool ah everything crossed for your little embryo! Smile

Ahh so great to see everyone seems to be progressing with consultation and treatments - it's about bloody time! :)

I'm still waiting a year after referral, and after an additional ultrasound - NOW I need to wait for a hysto as there's a chance a polyp/ fibroid could be indenting the uterine cavity. I can't understand why this wasn't dealt with over a year ago?! It took a second, private opinion to suggest it. I turned 35 on the weekend which I know Is still relatively 'not too old'; but all the stats show a huge drop or decline from now. I'm so upset and frustrated. I've as much as given up hope. I can't even go private until this issue is sorted. Also 7 pregnancy announcements from friends and fam in 3 months... why never me?!

@MotherOfShihTzus any further along with your investigations?

How are you getting on @starkid?

Hooding your still scheduled for FET in December @KatBeCool

So I'm just waiting for blood re-test and the dreaded AMH before nhs IVF is go. Finding the nhs very frustrating and disorganised they basically wasted two months of our time. But I know I shouldn't complain it's free and this is IVF with the nhs I guess.

orangeloo · 23/11/2020 10:42

@KatBeCool that was supposed to be 'hoping' haha

Report
starkid · 23/11/2020 10:49

@orangeloo - good luck with your tests! It's a shame it's being delayed, when every month wasted just seems so precious

I'm having a video call this week with a nurse, to be shown how to do the down-regulation injections, which I'm starting 3rd Dec. Then they've scheduled for scans, egg collection etc to be in mid January. So all seeming very real now!

Am now obsessively watching newborn videos on Youtube haha

KatBeCool · 23/11/2020 14:48

@orangeloo it's still planned for December, I just need my body to cooperate. Need AF to start on a precise day and lining and hormone levels to be correct. If not, I'd have to postpone until like March or something because the clinic closes for Christmas for almost two weeks.
I'm glad things are moving along for you, you're right, free is free. Fingers crossed.

@starkid you're so close! Hope it all goes well for you. Are you doing fresh or FET?

Report
orangeloo · 23/11/2020 15:05

@starkid ah it's all so close and real now then. Everything crossed for you. Keep us posted!

@KatBeCool oh gosh is that AF starting on just one particular day or you miss the boat? No pressure ey 😰 haha. Everything crossed for you too that it all goes go plan.
