@KatBeCool @FlapJackered @Broodyaf @bunhead34 @RosettaR @MotherOfShihTzus @starkid @Lina365

I thought I'd start a new thread as the other one is full. Sorry if I've missed anyone out.

@starkid I'm sorry to hear you might be more delayed.

@KatBeCool sorry you're feeling down. I do have moments of thinking of all the people who just dtd amd get pregnant, and it does feel so unfair that we have to do so much more. I am glad I have you guys on this thread so at least I know there are some people in the same situation.

I realised today how much I've given up hope. I went to the pharmacy to get clomid and talk to the pharmacist about the levothyroxine. He said the most important thing is to make sure your thyroid continues to be monitored once you are pregnant. And I just felt like why is he telling me this, as though it it's not something that could ever apply to me. I just can't imagine that I will ever actually get pregnant.

Hi all, I think I have posted on here before but not since I've had my blood test results.

My day 21 test came back confirming I've ovulated. I think it was 30.09, it was carried out slightly later than it should have been (I have irregular cycles so had to guess). But they said it confirmed ovulation, I'm guessing if it had taken place couple of days before would have been higher.

Also Had my other blood test back (cycle day8), my LH level is high. Nurse gave the results verbally on the phone. These were my results -

LH - 20.3. They said 14 is the top end of normal

Testosterone 0.7

TSH 2.14

Prolactin 389. (Apparently should be 100-500)

Follicle FSH 9

No idea what they mean but all are apparently normal apart from the LH, which from a quick google could indicate problem with ovaries / PCOS. Can anyone help with the high LH? Anyone got a similar experience?

@starkid sorry AF turned up for you!! It's so hard to ignore the symptoms we get. Life can be so cruel sometimes.

@KatBeCool sorry your feeling so down. Life is really unfair.

Looks like AF is here, while I'm still on progesterone, that's not even right. Temps were still up too. The clinic said to still come in tomorrow for the beta.

@starkid looks like we're cycle twins again.

RosettaR · 01/10/2019 21:53

@KatBeCool I'm sorry to hear you think AF is arriving. Be kind to yourself. Let us know what the outcome is for the beta hsg.

@BewilderedBee it's good that you're definitely ovulating at least. I don't have any experience with high LH. Have you got an appointment booked in where you'll be able to find out what it all means?

@KatBeCool - sorry :( on the (only) bright side, our cycle day matches the day of the month which makes things easier to track (clinging to anything positive!!)

So I got very annoyed reading that "are you smug" thread on this board. Of course this women who got pregnant with ease don't "feel" smug, they just ACT like it.

"oh you will understand when you're pregnant what I'm going through"

"oh I'm happy that I got pregnant with each of my three kids right away, I'm not smug. I'm just super happy and letting everyone know"

"oh I'm not smug, I'm just lucky it happened to me"

"oh I'm not smug I just can't help it that I now only associate with those who are expecting or parents and no longer have time for you".

Come on... Everything in this clip is true

@RosettaR yes got go appointment on 9th to discuss results then first appointment at fertility clinic on the 16th. I'm finding the wait a long time even though I know it's not long now!

@KatBeCool I am so sorry lovely. It's just not fair. It surprises me in this day and age they can't find out what the problem is? It seems most of the people I know going through the same thing don't know what the problem is, but there is obviously a problem or we would all have babies by now! I hope you're hanging in there. Good luck with the test tomorrow.

@starkid I am sorry af turned up, our bodies have a special way of fooling us into hoping then completely screwing us over.

@BewilderedBee that is great news you're ovulating, sorry I can't help with the LH score.

9dpo today and never been more sure I am not pregnant which is actually ok as operation is all booked in for 16th. I am going to request they do a dye test with my tubes while I am under which I really hope they will do as really don't want to do it awake 😬 and it seems like a good opportunity 🤞🏻

@FlapJackered definitely don't read the thread, I couldn't pass the first page before I enraged. They all manage to sound so smug while saying how mean it would be to be pregnant and smug.

I just had a very upsetting NHS fertility appointment. The consultant seemed really shocked by my low AMH, she said that may well be why I haven't been able to get pregnant because the egg quality is likely to be poor. She said the words "primary ovarian failure". But there's "a chance" there might be a good one so I should be able to try ivf with my own eggs. I'm now back home and I can't stop crying.

The only silver lining is that if we have ivf privately and it fails, we're still entitled to have one cycle on the NHS. She encouraged us not to wait and just to go straight for ivf - she didn't think the amh would get worse in the next year or so but she said still, why wait.

SeahorseWilderness · 02/10/2019 10:58

Their bedside manner sounds awful! Have they done an ultrasound to check your follicular count @rosettar my AMH is lower than you at 9.2 but they said my antral follicular count is high so it doesn’t matter. So sorry they’ve made you so upset, their way of talking sounds awful. Relax today, cry as much as you need to then think about seeing a different specialist, as that one sounds terrible. Xx

Report
RosettaR · 02/10/2019 11:31

@SeahorseWilderness thanks. My antral follicle count was 8 which I think is about what you'd expect given my amh. She wasn't terrible, she was really nice, but I think the fertility people I saw before played down the importance of amh a bit more and she obviously didn't. The doctor I saw before said "it is normal, but it is low", which at the time I thought was really unhelpful, but looking back I preferred it to "premature ovarian failure".

Love that video - so true! I saw that thread too. 'I'm not smug' she said smugly 🙄

@RosettaR that sounds like a tough appointment. hope you are okay.

I've had a crappy AF this weekend.

Now waiting for my consultant appointment on the 23rd. Feels like forever!

I’ve got my consultant appointment on the 3rd. I’m going to ask for Crinone (progesterone gel) to see if it stops the spotting...I’m also going to ask for Clomid. They’ve said previously they won’t give it to me as my cycles are regular but I read that low progesterone can be due to problems with the eggs so I want to try it. I think I’m at a stage where I just want to try different hormones and see what works /“Confused

@SeahorseWilderness did your blood tests show low progesterone?
I also get lots of spotting but my progesterone was fine

Report
SeahorseWilderness · 02/10/2019 16:04

@bunhead My day 21 progesterone was fine but the fertility consultant said that his theory is that there is a rapid decline in progesterone after day 21 which causes the spotting. He saw in a ultrasound the lining was shedding 9DPO which is in line with this theory...so I still think I have low progesterone despite the day 21 bloods not showing it....I’m actually convinced that’s the reason why I can’t get pregnant

@Broodyaf that is so exciting!! How long do you have to spend out there?
We may go there for ivf if we are not successful by March so it would be good to hear about your experience.

@RosettaR I am so sorry, that must be so upsetting. It's good they will try ivf with your own eggs, they wouldn't suggest that if they didn't think it was possible. Do you think you will go for it straight away?

@KatBeCool how are you lovely? Did AF turn up or was it a false alarm

Broodyaf · 02/10/2019 22:31

@FlapJackered about 8 days
We'll go over the day before EC then the 5day wait to transfer, them another 2
Days just to rest up and take it easy, then
Home

Although I have been warned I am
High risk OHSS so if that's the case I may not get any put back in 😫

At my last transvaginal exam I had 17+ follicles on each ovary

Hi would anyone be able to help with the AMH, is that tested for on the nhs? Or do you have to pay private for that?

Thanks and @RosettaR don't get too upset, I've read a lot of people getting pregnant with ivf after being diagnosed with premature ovarian failure. Stay positive, you just need one good egg with ivf and you're chances are good

Xxx
