I thought I'd start a new thread as the other one is full. Sorry if I've missed anyone out.

@KatBeCool I want to write and say I'm sorry, but I'm afraid I don't have much else to say that would make sense. Strange and sad times, and I really think we all deserve better than this.

When I talk to any healthcare professionals, they tell me everything can still be ok. It's been about 11 days since the bleeding started, it's stopped now, I don't feel pregnant at all, but I'm still having to think about what I eat. I'm craving for a glass of red wine, but I have no way to confirm right now if I'm carrying a dead or live little bean inside me. I have gone crazy with the caffeine, though. At times, I even feel happy, then I watch the news, remember this whole crazy situation, and I just can't process it yet. I'm not sure if I'm still hoping that I'm still happily pregnant or that the miscarriage is 100% complete (I doubt it) so that I won't have to take any medication.

KatBeCool · 16/04/2020 10:45

@Lina365 logically, after 11 days of bleeding you'd think you'd be done. I get feeling hopeful still but... you know? Are you able to maybe do a beta? Even privately? They should be able to get an idea of whether your hcg has gone down or grown. At least you'll have your answer, no matter what it is, it's better than not knowing. Do take care of yourself. You should still watch what you eat, the healthier you are the better.

Hi everyone, sorry I've been so quiet. I've been on a break from mumsnet for a bit - after the failed IVF and then being told our next cycle was postponed indefinitely due to the damn lockdown, I just couldn't face thinking about TTC. I don't feel much better even now really, just impatient! We had a concall with our consultant a while back who said he was surprised our IVF failed. He said it could have been timing (bevause my follicles were slow, by the time I had my ET, it was about cd25) or otherwise that I have low egg reserve (doubtful as my AMH, AFC and FSH tests all fine, plus good quality embryos, so not sure what he was getting at). My main concern was that I started bleeding heavily 8dpt, which is very unusual given that I was taking the progesterone pessaries religiously. Anyway, no clear answer and obvs no timescale if when we can start, so feeling a bit meh.

Really glad to hear of a couple of BFPs on here, but really sorry @KatBeCool and @Lina365 to hear that they've ended in miscarriages. Really hope the BFPs are the start of some good luck for both of you 😊

Hope you're all keeping stay and staying sane in lockdown xxx

Lina365 · 18/04/2020 16:29

It's the not knowing when everything's even close to normal again that is stressful to a lot of us isn't it @PineappleC? I hope you get to have another go soon, it sounds like you have a good basis for succeeding if your doctor expects a bfp!

I've been trying to distract myself for a couple of days as my nausea has come back just as it was before the bleeding started, if not stronger. So now I'm feeling pregnant but mentally preparing to hear the bad news about a missed miscarriage. I know it could all still be ok but I've so many stories about blighted ovum and how the pregnancy hormones still affect you until the process is complete. I could have done a beta privately but all this week I've been trying to put off the bad news until next week... 2 more days, and I'll hear either that it's over or... the heartbeat Confused

RosettaR · 01/05/2020 16:46

@Lina365 what was the outcome of your scan? Hope you're OK. The waiting must have been so tough.

So the HFEA is letting clinics re open from 11 May www.hfea.gov.uk/treatments/covid-19-and-fertility-treatment/coronavirus-covid-19-guidance-for-patients/. Not sure if you will have seen already, I've been checking the website obsessively for updates! So happy about this, hopefully I can finally start ivf in the next few months.

Hopefully that's good news for you as well @PineappleC. It's strange he said that about low egg reserve, given the number of good quality embryos you got to freeze - surely that points to a good egg reserve? Timing sounds more plausible and that would be a good answer because that's won't be an issue for a FET.

orangeloo · 01/05/2020 17:49

Hi all can I join,
I think I recognise some names from another thread.
Ttc baby no 1. Cycle 16 prob 17 tomorrow.
Underactive thyroid that I just can't get under control.
Also confirmed my progesterone plummets after about 7 DPO I spot every cycle sometimes from 6DPo.
Waiting on fertility clinic to see if they can prescribe me some progesterone as a first step. So so sorry to hear of the misscarriages absolutely heartbreaking. Hope you are both okay as can be.

starkid · 01/05/2020 18:07

@RosettaR - interesting they're opening the centres, and very good news! I was meant to have another ultrasound before going to my first IVF meeting, but unfortunately this all kicked off right after, so never got an appointment through for it. Not sure if they'll be going ahead yet or not :-/ maybe I should ring the fertility consultant's secretary sometime soon to see what she says.

@orangeloo - hi and welcome to the thread :)

Where is everyone in their cycle at the mo? I'm cycle 23, CD24 and 7dpo, usually have an 11 day luteal phase so just waiting for the sore boobs to kick in as usual for the last few days of the cycle!

RosettaR · 01/05/2020 18:41

Hi @orangeloo. Sorry about your thyroid, is it just a struggle to get the dose right? It seems like when people have thyroid issues they can end up getting a bfp really quickly once it's in the normal range.

@starkid I'd say get in touch, if they are re opening hopefully they can do your ultrasound. The clinic I'm with opened this week for diagnostic tests.

I'm 3 or 4 dpo so not far behind you. My cycle is more normal this time, I got a positive opk on day 14 and plenty of ewcm. I'm trying to temp and really not getting on with it, my temp should have gone up by now if I ovulated. I tested when I woke up early in the morning and it was far too low, then I tested again when I woke up at like 7 and it was really high. So a bit worried I might not have ovulated, but very unsure. I do feel like I ovulated ...

orangeloo · 01/05/2020 19:20

@RosettaR hi, yes I've been diagnosed two years and it's been all over the place I've had okay results but they've never stayed that way. My dosage was changed two weeks ago so I really hope this one is right 🤞🏼. It sounds like you have ovulated.

RosettaR · 06/05/2020 09:37

@orangeloo sorry to hear it's been so difficult. Hopefully you can get tested soon and see how it's taking the new dose. I'm on levothyroxine too but only a low dose, I haven't had a test since January so I'm hoping it's still in the normal range. I will get a test soon as my fertility clinic is open again for tests and they will do a TSH test.

@starkid how are you doing? I am hoping af holds off until at least Saturday, then it will look like my luteal phase is back to its usual 11-12 days. It's been even shorter the last two cycles which I'm not happy about.

Then once af comes I will book a scan to check my uterine polyp hasn't come back. It better not have done, if it has it will mean either a 6 month wait for another operation (6 months was pre covid 19 so probably way longer now) or another £2,000 to go private.

orangeloo · 06/05/2020 09:46

@RosettaR yes I have a retest at the end of this month so fingers crossed. Definitely a good idea to get your tsh retested. The clinic I'm now under said while ttc as it's been so up and down I should have it tested every 6 weeks! More money but needs must. Fingers crossed for you on your polyp.

starkid · 06/05/2020 12:40

@RosettaR - My luteal is 11 days generally and I'd prefer it longer so can imagine upset it being even shorter!
AF started for me today, bang on schedule. Only brownish blood at the moment but I'm sure will turn more normal soon enough. So now cycle 24! Sad

Educationstudiesstudent1234 · 06/05/2020 15:53

Hey, can I join please? Danni, 31, TTC for 18 months, CP in December. Nice to meet u all xxxxx

Educationstudiesstudent1234 · 06/05/2020 16:03

Hi @orangeloo and thanks for introducing me to this group

RosettaR · 09/05/2020 18:24

@orangeloo yes it gets expensive doesn't it! Hopefully the more frequent tests will help them get it under control.

@Educationstudiesstudent1234 welcome! I am just slightly older than you (32) and ttc 21 months so just a bit longer than you.

I'm due af today and nothing so far - part of me is scared even writing that I'll have jinxed it. I'm going to test tomorrow morning if I've not started spotting by then but it's more likely af will start sometime tonight. I'm pleased it hasn't come yet though because that means my luteal phase is a little longer this month.

orangeloo · 09/05/2020 20:05

@RosettaR fingers crossed for you. How long is your luteal phase normally?

RosettaR · 09/05/2020 20:12

Normally 11-12 days. I did jinx it in my last post, I've started spotting so at will arrive tomorrow.

orangeloo · 11/05/2020 10:41

@RosettaR ah that's an okay luteal phase length isn't it? Did AF arrive, hopefully not? I'm entering my fertile week... I hate it, haha too much pressure.

KatBeCool · 14/05/2020 06:33

Looks like I missed a bit, I never get notifications anymore.

@orangeloo @Educationstudiesstudent1234 welcome.

Last months chemical surely had a toll on me. My body tried really hard to ovulate during my normal times on CD14, the opk got so close to positive but never happened. I didn't get a true positive until CD21. BBT was rising very slowly afterwards too. Now I'm just comparing everything. My boobs aren't really hurting. Last month they started hurting literally the day after ovulation. I'm 7-8DPO now.

@Lina365 how are you recovering?

@orangeloo what is your dosage for thyroid medicine? I'm guessing you're taking levothyroxine. Over two years, since I was diagnosed, my dose has doubled.

How's everyone else doing?

orangeloo · 14/05/2020 13:28

@KatBeCool sorry to hear of your CP and that you've had a tough time. I remember you from another thread Thanks.
I started on 25mg, up to 50mg because of ttc, down to 25mg again as it swung into below normal. Now I'm alternating days 25mg, 50mg and so on. hope it does the trick. It's such a common thing yet such a pain in The bum when ttc.

RosettaR · 20/05/2020 12:17

Hi everyone, I had my scan today and they didn't find anything so as far as I know we are starting down regulation this cycle. The only less good news from the scan was that on one ovary there were no follicles. I've had really varied follicle numbers before, in June last year I had 8 and then in October 22, so hopefully it doesn't mean anything but I can't help feeling it's not a good sign. I've already been getting really anxious like am I eating enough protein, am I being too sedentary. But I know we're doing it now so I just have to try and relax!

RosettaR · 20/05/2020 12:23

@orangeloo it sounds like your thyroid is about where mine is, fingers crossed on your next test it will be nice and normal. Alternating must be a pain, I have enough trouble remembering whether I washed my hair the previous day or not!

@KatBeCool I'm sorry your cycle is taking a while to get back to normal. It's so frustrating. How are things looking now?

orangeloo · 20/05/2020 12:36

@RosettaR I set it up in a pill box in advance so I can't forget haha. Hopefully the other ovary will come through for you if that one does not. It must be an anxious time. Hope you find some nice distraction where possible.

KatBeCool · 20/05/2020 13:05

@RosettaR 13dpo today. I got bfn on a cheapie yesterday but it was early for it anyway. I have similar symptoms as last cycle so I'm telling myself to stay positive.

RosettaR · 22/05/2020 11:25

@KatBeCool that sounds good. Any update today?

@starkid how are you doing?

My thyroid is back up at 2.1, but I guess that's still normal so hopefully OK. I think it's because I've put on weight. I've been trying and failing to put on weight for over a year, and now with lockdown the pounds are piling on and I can't make it stop!
