@starkid cross post! Thank you 😊 I know how hard it must be seeing my positive I really didn't want to post it because I know that feeling too well. I'm happy but at same time worried as I just want everything to be ok with thyroid. I've never ever had even a hint of line.

@Mrs71 congratulations!! 🎉🎉 what fantastic news! It is so lovely to have a bfp on this thread. Long overdue! You must be over the moon! So so happy for you!!! ❤️

@RosettaR yes the needle was very small so I think we will be ok. 😬 i will let you know how it goes!

Mrs71 · 19/12/2019 00:03

@FlapJackered thank you so much. I am so happy but it doesn't seem real! Surreal feeling. ❤️

I hope all you lovely ladies get the BFP you all so deserve. 💕💕 Everyone will get there I'm a prime example it will be 2 years since I started ttc in January and I was just going along with the motions every month. This month I only dtd twice, as I just gave up thinking it would never happen and felt so rubbish. When it's meant to be it'll happen. I know it's a lot easier said than done. I'll definitely still be hanging around here reading this thread for updates. I just hope everything sticks for me. xxx

Well I'm due today and had hope for most of the day, but have just started spotting so think I'm out - then onto cycle 19

KatBeCool · 20/12/2019 01:51

@starkid oh no, I'm so sorry :(

I don't even know when I'm due anymore, my luteal phase has been all over in the last few months, plus I'm taking progesterone, so it affects it.

RosettaR · 20/12/2019 08:08

@starkid I'm sorry you think AF is coming for you.

I had my work Christmas party yesterday, and one of my colleagues, who had a baby last year, was explaining how she couldn't stay late and miss bedtime, because then she wouldn't see him until the next morning, and she just loves him so much, it's more than anything she ever expected. I don't blame her but it did make me feel sad. I just really hope we get there.

Still it's nearly the Christmas break, yay!

KatBeCool · 20/12/2019 17:16

14dpo today, bfn. I'm gutted. If it was a positive, we could've shared the same birthday. Not gonna lie, I really wanted that. No sign of AF either.

How's everyone else doing?

zoomies1 · 21/12/2019 16:27

@Mrs71 congrats! All you can do is take one day at a time and try to enjoy it!

@KatBeCool sorry to hear that. I think AF is coming for me tomorrow.

I have had a real thing this week wondering why it isn't happening when so many people my age (9 now) are pregnant.

I am looking forward to Christmas but it hasn't gotten off to a smooth start. On Thursday my mum was diagnosed with leukaemia (but a very slow developing kind that she can be well with for a long time), my bedroom ceiling is leaking really badly and have had a furious row with DH.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Honestly though, it will all be fine. Here's to 2020. I'm looking forward to my once yearly sherry and lots of red wine.

KatBeCool · 21/12/2019 17:12

AF is here :(

starkid · 21/12/2019 18:55

@zoomies1 - wow sorry it sounds like you've got a lot going on right now! Flowers for your mum

@KatBeCool - sorry to hear :( mine did yesterday, been particularly heavy and painful today as well

KatBeCool · 21/12/2019 23:17

@zoomies1 sorry to see about your mom, wishing her quick recovery.

@starkid looks like we're "one day apart" cycle twins again. Time to get a twin bfp!

FlapJackered · 23/12/2019 00:32

@KatBeCool @starkid so sorry AF has showed up ❤️

@zoomies1 sorry to hear about your mum, that must have been hard to hear especially at this time of year.

Almost half way through my week with the inlaws and they are now proposing that we open no presents on Christmas Day and do them all on Christmas Eve. Then stay in pyjamas all day. Coming from a family where Christmas Day is a big deal and we all dress up it's hard to adjust, 😬 I want to run away back to my family!
Actually looking forward to Christmas being over so I can get back home, which is sad!
AF due in a week and not a symptom in sight at the moment.

RosettaR · 26/12/2019 11:20

@KatBeCool @starkid sorry af came for you both. She got me as well on Christmas eve, meaning Christmas day was my heaviest, achiest day.

@zoomies1 I'm sorry about the news about your mum. It must be hard having so much going on together.

@FlapJackered how was Christmas day in the end? I am at my in laws for a few days, I know what you mean about looking forward to going back to normality. When are you starting the stimulation?

RosettaR · 26/12/2019 11:40

I've booked on for ivf this cycle (by leaving a message on the phone). But I've also got a long term medical condition which has picked the worst time possible to rear it's head with some new symptoms. The fertility doctor was confident it would be OK to go ahead and that it wouldn't impact things. I'm seeing the consultant about the symptoms at the end of January, and I'm really frightened he will tell me to cancel the ivf or want to do some more tests. I'm trying to get an earlier private appointment but the phone lines seem to be shut for Christmas so who knows if that will be possible. I don't want to delay ivf further, but am terrified going ahead is a mistake.

KatBeCool · 26/12/2019 13:27

@RosettaR I'm sorry to hear that. If you are taking any medications, maybe phone a pharmacist and ask if it's ok. But you're doing the right thing by trying to find out before the ivf. The possible complications might not be worth it.

FlapJackered · 27/12/2019 07:30

@RosettaR If the fertility doctor is confident that the condition won't effect things, I am sure s/he is right. I don't think they would say that if they thought it would effect the outcome, they like their successes to add to their percentage!
Af is due for me on the 31st so that would mean starting stims on 1st! When are you due to start?
Christmas Day was actually better than expected. We definitely won't be spending Christmas with the in-laws again for a while as there were lots of arguments between DHs sibling and his Mum, which didn't make for the most relaxed festive atmosphere!
Did you have a good one?

PineappleC · 27/12/2019 09:40

Happy Christmas everyone!

I haven't been on for a while but seem to have logged on at a great tine - @Mrs71 congratulations! Your post does quite the opposite of upsetting, it gives me hope that after so long you could just get pregnant naturally!! Fab news!

We had our first IVF appt on Christmas eve. Not sure how many of you have had this, but for those who are in the dark, this is what my procedure will be:

  • pill from cd3 (probably around 10 Jan) until 31 Jan
  • nasal spray for 10 days
  • injections for 10 days
  • egg collection
  • 3-5 days later, transfer.

It kinda sounds alright, and I'm purposefully not reading any other horror stories!! Consultant said my prognosis was good - good lining atm, AMH was 13.1, good Bmi. So, although I know ivf chances are less than 50% still, I am at least a bit hopeful.

I haven't caught up with the whole thread yet but hope everyone else is okay and enjoying Christmas xxx

RosettaR · 27/12/2019 10:47

I am officially booked on for IVF which at the moment I am finding a bit terrifying. Trying to relax as I know that's so important but man is it difficult!

@PineappleC great to hear from you again, it sounds like you will be doing this on a similar timeline to me - and also on the long protocol. I had af start on Christmas eve, and will start the sniffer drug on day 21, so 14 Jan. I take that until 4 Feb when they will scan me to see if I'm down regulated. All being well I will then start stimulation with egg collection hopefully in week of 17 Feb. They will send me the proper timeline early next week with all the scan dates and times.

I know what you mean about the chances being below 50%, but they are still decent, it could well happen for us! I spoke to a friend last night and she was telling me she knows so many women who have had children via IVF, she is a doctor so I think people tend to speak to her more about that kind of thing. She knows one who had two sets of twins from two rounds of IVF!

@FlapJackered how exciting to be starting on new years day! Good luck and fingers crossed! I hate family arguments on Christmas day so sympathise! We were at my parents for Christmas day and now at my in laws which has been fine so far, relatively relaxing. I still find my in laws a bit highly strung though, I never feel 100% comfortable in their house, like they are watching me ... probably all in my head (hopefully...)

PineappleC · 29/12/2019 09:39

@RosettaR that sounds great for you too, it's exciting!😊 Yours sounds similar to me although I think I'm only on the nasal spray for 10 days. Probably just a different drug. What's long protocol? If all goes to plan, we will have egg collection on 21 Feb.

Yes definitely think it's very possible that we could both end up with BFPs from IVF, so I am excited, but consultant said not to treat it as a definite so I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much. Ours is male factor (motility and slight morphology) so we will have ICSI too and hopefully that will take away the "disadvantage". Not long to go now anyway!

FlapJackered · 29/12/2019 10:29

@PineappleC @RosettaR it is great we are all going through this at a similar time! Fingers crossed we get 3 bfps. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
I am doing mild ivf so don't have any of the nasal sprays etc so egg collection should be mid January. 😬

RosettaR · 30/12/2019 15:55

@PineappleC yes looks like I take nasal spray for longer, whereas you have the pill and then a shorter stint on nasal spray. I'm sure it amounts to the same thing. Long protocol is when you have that down regulation, on short protocol they go straight to stimulation like @FlapJackered. Most people do long protocol and they were very categorical at the clinic that it was the right choice for me, so I didn't question it, I'm trying to just trust them as they clearly know what they are doing.

Fingers very much crossed for three bfps for us!

FlapJackered · 31/12/2019 08:50

Urgh 12dpo and just did a test, bfn of course. Was really hoping for a miracle bfp to cancel the ivf.
Feels like af is on her way but I am hoping she waits until tomorrow as then my ivf will match the days of the month!

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 31/12/2019 09:22

Hey guys 👋

Just been reading your thread and I’m at the same stage as you guys. How has everyone found Christmas? At times I’ve found it hard due to lots of babies, children and pregnancy announcements. But it WILL happen to us all it will just be even more special!

Had lots of bloods, scans and husband has had SA.
All are completely normal.

@starkid I am now waiting (very patiently!!!) for a HSG x ray on my tubes as they want to do this before IVF starts. However the appt was booked and due to happen but is now cancelled to to staffing shortages at the hospital. The private clinics don’t do this type of x ray so it’s just a waiting game.

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 31/12/2019 09:24

@FlapJackered have you started any of the IVF meds yet? Sorry to hear that it wasn’t a good month for you. It is so hard isn’t it.
But you have everything ready and you can do this!!!

FlapJackered · 31/12/2019 14:46

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip thank you, I needed to hear that today, been feeling a bit overwhelmed!
I should start the injections either 2nd/3rd Jan depending on when AF turns up.

Sorry to hear you are in a similar boat. Have you been referred to a fertility clinic yet or are you still getting tests with the GP? Christmas is really tough and I found it worse being sober and on a pre-ivf diet! Not very festive!
I love you username btw!
