Anyone else starting their TTC journey in next few month?

I'm 35 and me and hubby will be starting to try in the next 2-3 months after our honeymoon.
Terrified as to if we are ready and also worried about my age 😬 anyone want to share their journey with me?xxx

My husband will be away from tomorrow until Saturday afternoon... wonderful timing . Dtd tonight and will again on Saturday but bet I get static smiley tomorrow and will miss ovulation.

To be fair we weren't meant to be trying this month but I'm obsessed already.

Yeah... My "throw away" month of half trying but not investing in LH strips basically means I've been paying WAY too much attention to CM. Real casual.

And while I know my cycles well, I'm realising I have no clue when I ovulate, except I usually get a bit randy around the time. Ah well, DH doesn't seem to mind the Husband's Favourite method this month. 😜

I was definitely not laidback this cycle . Managed to dtd the day before, the day of and the day after static smiley. Now in tww 🤞

Do you know when you ovulated @zinrepus ?

Not for sure, my app thinks yesterday, but I'm unconvinced. Dtd twice within the alleged window (DH had a stag do over the weekend and was hungover Sunday). Didn't want to start TTC by insisting on scheduled BD so... Not incredibly hopeful but it's possible... Tww time!

Haha @zinrepus I’m definitely rubbish at being ‘casual’ about it too. I think I ovulated day 16-17 as usual although I missed my LH surge so didn’t actually get a positive OPK which was frustrating. Going off the fact that that’s when I o’d The last 2 months and also the fact that I got my darkest line on cd16 then my lines have disappeared since. My CM has also definitely changed so think it must have happened!
DH was away and came back ill and shattered so only DTD once. As this was an extra ‘bonus’ month for us too I don’t want to think about it too much so will be fine with starting to try properly next month as I very much doubt it has happened!

No idea. According to my app (which may or may not be correct) ovulation was yesterday, so AF is due the 17. But we'll be flying on the 11th so who knows how that'll shake out. I've seen what happens when I travel!

So tests that can register 10 mIU of HCG CAN detect pregnancy as early as 10 DPO but the average for folk is 13-15 DPO. Provided you have your ovulation day pinpointed. Which I don't. Sooo... No idea when I'll test still, but there's some data for me to ponder!

I'm going to test on the 12th! I have two frers and about 6 cheap strips.

Last night I went and ordered 60 cheapie tests, got grumpy about paying the same for 2 tests as for 60. If there's good news, I'll splash out for it closer to the time...

Well our potential first month of trying isn't getting off to a great start. Both knackered from work and now husband is ill 😂 fingers crossed we'll rally for the weekend, but like you guys I won't be too disappointed if nothing happens this month. Bring on the cheese and wine!! I'm more looking forward to a break than anything, trying to minimise stress in the run up to TTC doesn't seem to be working so far...

I've gone back and forth deciding I'm definitely out and then thinking about how I'll tell dh if I am. Really need to stop obsessing.

Also, for everyone else not TTC yet, "casually trying" is the biggest lie I've ever told myself. I've watched dozens of symptom spotting vlogs on youtube the past few days. -_-

By and large, gut instinct tells me it's not happening this month, but I keep hoping I'm wrong. I'll probably be testing on the 16, as that's 14 DPO in theory. Gives me 9 days before Christmas to keep testing so I know for sure if I can drink. Because AF may be late, even by a week, but if I know I'm not pregnant, I'll be having some wine and nog!

I had LOADS of egg white type cervical mucus today. The most I’ve ever had! Hoping I haven’t ovulated this late, need to do an OPK when I get home later and check. Very strange! Fingers crossed for everyone- glad we can at least all look forward to Christmas drinks if it doesn’t happen this month!

I had a migraine this morning and felt sick and am still trying to ride it out. Unclear if I'm incredibly suggestible or what...

I did! It was a super strong positive, the line was the darkest I’ve had. So I’ve obviously ovulated really late this cycle! So we’ve definitely missed my fertile window as we DTD last Saturday then hadn’t again as we have both been feeling rubbish. DTD last night after getting the positive but it was probably too late! Not sure how long it takes for the sperm to reach the egg 😂
Oooo potential promising symptoms @zinrepus and I know some people have no symptoms before a BFP so still keeping everything crossed for you @Waiting1987

Annnnd back to feeling completely normal and feeling slightly silly for symptom spotting so hard. I do get migraines, but seldom get nausea that bad... It reminded me of when I started hormonal BC in college and immediately puked two nights running.

Back to impatient waiting and pretending I'm not obsessing. 😜 Three days before travel so I'll have plenty to keep me occupied in the meantime.

Hope you all had good weekends with lots of wine! 😀 We had a good one, though hubby was feeling rubbish (and still is!) so no BD for us at all... according to Flo I still have a chance to get pregnant this month, but think it's going to be really unlikely. Never mind, will write this one off and hopefully try properly in the new year, which was kind of the plan anyway.

@MrsB25 how strange, it's a good thing you checked! So what dpo did you actually ovulate on in the end? I'm still getting my head around my cycle, it's funny how suddenly we're super aware of cervical mucus. Never paid any attention to it before 😂 Hope you managed to catch it in time!

@zinrepus you never know! Some people seem to get loads of symptoms and others not so much. Hope the traveling goes well, sorry if you've already said but where are you off to? I love travel and fed up of winter here so am very jealous! Also already know what you mean about being 'casual' with TTC... I can tell it's going to take over my life and we've not even started yet 😂

@Waiting1987 so will you be testing next weekend? Good luck! I'm going to buy some cheapie OPKs I think, need to know what's going on as not sure whether I ovulated this weekend or not! We did get our tree this weekend though, and I'm so excited for Christmas! 😁 Definition my fave time of year.

I still have zero symptoms! The only thing I could say is vivid dreams and that's really searching. Definitely not my month! I'll test on Thu with a frer if AF doesn't come before then.

Yeah when it comes to symptom spotting it means diddly squat unless you're fully all-in, temping and CM checking daily.

We're going to the US to see my family...a week and change near San Francisco, then a little under a week on the east coast. A few days to ourselves, then a wedding in Birmingham on the 3rd!

Again...more reasons for me to remember it's not the end of the world if we aren't successful this month.

I keep vascilating between everything feels fine (as in normal) and I FEEL A THING and then I make fun of myself in my head! But trying to get everything done under the wire, combined with holiday prep will do wonders to distract the brain.

What a great trip @zinrepus we went to San Francisco as part of our honeymoon- very jealous! And yes it will definitely distract you from any symptom spotting!!

I know what you mean @Bims2019 I’ve definitely never paid so much attention to what’s going on down there before! Crazy how our bodies work though- it is all very interesting! So I got my peak OPK on day 21 in the end so think I will have ovulated on day 22 which is about 5-6 days later than usual. I have read that lots of things can cause it and was feeling really ill, didn’t get much sleep either that week so hoping it was just that and that I can get back to normal next month! I just don’t know when AF would be due now as I’m assuming ovulating late will make my cycle longer this month. Oh well- works Christmas party on Friday so have some celebrating and drinks to look forward to anyway!

Well I'm out!!! Pink when I wiped this morning so guessing it's start of AF. Not had a single cramp or anything! Hopefully things settle next cycle because that's way too soon to be starting period.

Well, mid jetlag body anger I finally cracked and did a far too early test today (10 DPO) and-shocker-it came up negative.

@Waiting1987 have you determined you are actually out or was it just spotting? Fingers crossed it could have been an implantation bleed!

Some hopefuls since I last checked on you all! Fingers crossed.
So an update, AF was late last time and lasted nearly 8 days when its usually 6-7. Then removed the coil myself and bled for a day (day 13). Am a bit confused now as to when my fertile days are, with it all being a bit different to normal. CM has been no help at all. DTD days 14 and 16 and am now in no mans land, becoming obsessed with cramps over the last couple of days. Now D17. Its a long week ahead!!
