Terrified as to if we are ready and also worried about my age 😬 anyone want to share their journey with me?xxx

Are you going to start using ovulation tests or temping now zinrepus?

Well I've continued to test and they've been negative. Had implant out two weeks on Wednesday so hoping I get a period soon.

Hi all, sorry for not being around much again. Too much life going on right now!!

Exciting that some of you are getting into OPKs, I bet that makes it all seem more real :) have people found them helpful? I'd like to not use them at first but also quite curious to see if they help...

Not much of an update from me. I'm waiting for AF as well, due any day now but this cycle is now longer than my last one (which was 25 days), so counting that as a bit of a win at least. Work is stressful this month so that might be the cause, but who knows. Hope everyone is okay!

MrsB25 · 18/11/2019 19:12

How was the move @zinrepus I hope you’re getting settled. @Bims2019 I found them helpful as I now know that I tend to ovulate day 16-17 of my cycle, so slightly later than the ‘average’ of day 14. Would have therefore probably missed lots of chances to conceive if I was trying at the wrong time!

@Waiting1987 it’s so frustrating isn’t it! I was in the same position as you for a few months and it was getting very annoying! I did stop using them for a while as I felt it was taking over a little, once your cycles are back regularly I think it’s much easier and less stressful

AF finished yesterday for me, cycle was 29 days but only a 2 day AF again. From google it seems this is within the ‘normal range’ so hoping it’s fine! I think we will therefore be starting to try next week 😬 so strange that it is actually here now!

Waiting1987 · 19/11/2019 08:57

That's exciting MrsB25! Hopefully happens quickly for you then.

I've only had 3 periods since April 2017 (pregnant and then breastfeeding, then 2 months on implant) so God knows what's going on. OPK still got a dark line today but not positive...

The move was...long. :-) DH actually moved up on the 27 October, so there was a long time of remote relationship-ing and living in boxes. But we're here, we'll even have most of the furniture we need to feel normal starting tomorrow! Still lots to do (further unpacking and furnishing) but we're getting there.

AF is nowhere to be seen, but I'm trying to be relatively calm about it because a) my cycles do run 28-34 days and b) I've seen things get delayed when I've been stressed and when I've been travelling, and I've had both in spades!

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 19/11/2019 12:24

Hi all, I'm removing my copper coil at the end of the month Wink.
I'm so excited but keeping it a secret therefore made a new mumsnet username for this, I need someone to be able to talk to!!
We are both late 30s and have an older child each from previous relationships.
Good luck to everyone xxxx

Nora11 · 19/11/2019 15:07

Hi everyone! Hope you are all doing well! I've just booked my implant removal for beginning of December! Now it's booked I feel a bit nervous and wonder if I should have waited a bit longer (as we won't ttc until around March) as it will be annoying having to worry about 'other methods' until then. 🙄 And I know they say your fertility goes straight back to normal once the implant is removed so maybe it's pointless getting it out early. But at least this way I will be able to track my cycles for a few months and 🤞 that will help with timings etc once we are ready to try! It feels a bit realer with the appointment booked even though there's still months to go... I'm both nervous and excited!

Lozz22 · 19/11/2019 16:06

I'd try again tomorrow if I could but I'm awaiting to see someone at the Leeds recurrent miscarriage clinic and I can't be pregnant before I go. The wait is killing me especially given I should be 16 weeks pregnant on Thursday

Waiting1987 · 19/11/2019 17:12

Sorry about your miscarriages Lozz22

I'm starting to think maybe I'm getting an LH surge before period arrives... more strong lines tonight but no positive. Feeling really crampy so think could be period.

danielasummer · 19/11/2019 17:27

Hi everyone, hope I can join.

My husband and I were planning to start in January then got pregnant in August and sadly miscarried in October. Haven't had my period since the m/c but very fertile today (ewcm - sorry if too TMI!) so debating BD tonight or waiting until after AF!

About me: 27, DH 28, married since August this year, have tracked using Natural Cycles since 2016 :)

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 19/11/2019 19:28

I would say BD @danielasummer but I'm impatient!! X

danielasummer · 19/11/2019 20:37

@SweetpeaOrMarigold me too! Think it’s on. Let’s keep our fingers crossed 😊

Bims2019 · 20/11/2019 13:23

@MrsB25 next week, amazing!! It must be weird to think that it's finally here. How do you feel? Good point about OPKs, it's hard to know when you ovulate though I did notice EWCM this month for the first time ever. Mainly because I've never been paying attention before 😂 but pretty sure I ovulated on cd14.

@zinrepus the move could definitely affect you in that way, it causes so much more stress than you realise! Sorry if you've said already but have you got a new job in Edinburgh? Fingers crossed things settle down for you soon.

Hi to new people, good luck with getting your coil out @Nora11 and @SweetpeaOrMarigold, and sorry to hear about your miscarriages @danielasummer and @Lozz22. Hoping for good things for you all :)

AF feels like it's on the way for me as well @Waiting1987, which would make my cycle 28 days... But will wait and see. It's so hard waiting!!

MrsB25 · 20/11/2019 19:08

Hi to all the new thread members!

@Bims2019 I feel strange! I keep forgetting 😂 think I’ve got so used to thinking ‘we won’t be trying yet’ that I’m not quite ready to think that we are trying!! I know it’s very unlikely to happen straight away, I think I would be more shocked if it did as I’ve got myself so prepared that it will take a while. But during AF I did think ‘wow, this could be my last period for ages if it did happen’, little thoughts like that are so strange!

Waiting1987 · 21/11/2019 07:55

Does anyone else get dark lines on ovulation strips all the time? I never seem to get a faint line. Still no idea where I am on cycle. Might have got peak on 16th but also might not have. Confused

Today's test! Going to keep testing until af I think. Also might need to finally reduce breastfeeding...

I think maybe it's getting close to positive now...

Hate these tests it's so hard to tell!

Bims2019 · 22/11/2019 13:26

Think I jinxed myself a bit as AF stayed away and has just started today. So a 30 day cycle in the end. According to Flo I'm next due to ovulate around the first weekend in December, so tempting to try for the first time as it's also around my birthday! 😂 Will have a chat with hubby, though we're still settling in from moving and have lots going on at work, so not sure if timing is quite right...

@MrsB25 imagine if it did happen straight away! I'd be so shocked lol. Really pleased that it's so nearly TTC time for you, obviously I have no experience but would say just enjoy it and let us know how you get on!! Rooting for you 😊

@Waiting1987 I've not used the strips I'm afraid, but am tempted to try for my next cycle. I've had one 25 day and one 30 day cycle since coming off pill, so would be good to try and pin point ovulation a bit better. Does breastfeeding have a big impact on your cycles? Sorry I'm a bit clueless about it all!

Waiting1987 · 22/11/2019 13:34

I would just go for it bims2019 but I have no patience. Blush We aren't meant to be ttc until January, but DH will be away in December so seeing what happens Nov.

I did Clearblue and it's negative still, will try again later...

Yeah breastfeeding stopped my periods completely for 15 months.

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 22/11/2019 22:26

You're making me wonder if I should try the strips, but I usually get convincing ov pain so I was going to go with that. @bims2019 AF is due Mon and my Ov ties in to the same weekend as you! Went and asked at the clinic about coil removal and she said just come in whenever you want Shock its all a bit real now!!

MrsB25 · 23/11/2019 07:01

Thanks @Bims2019 DH is away with work weds-fri and I’m due to ovulate next Saturday so we will probably miss most of my fertile days but I guess it only takes one time! Hope you and hubby manage to decide what to do! Would be nice to tie in with your birthday weekend- do you have any nice plans?

Bims2019 · 24/11/2019 11:47

Haha, I should definitely take a leaf out of your book @Waiting1987 I suppose one thing that's putting me off trying in December is that we already have a lot of family birthdays in September... But don't know if that's a good enough reason not to try. And I know it's not that likely we'd catch first month trying, but it could happen!

@SweetpeaOrMarigold that's so exciting! Ovulation buddies 😂 it's like @MrsB25 said, really weird when it's suddenly all real. I keep thinking about how we'd tell people even though we've not actually tried yet. Getting way ahead of myself lol

@MrsB25 true, you never know and one day might be all you need :) no plans really, we're actually at a wedding for some close friends which will be nice. Might go out for a meal on another night though, or a Christmas market visit. I love this time of year! 😁

Waiting1987 · 27/11/2019 12:21

Flashing smiley today!!! Not just hoping a static one happens and I'll know my body is working again...

Anyone else starting their TTC journey in next few month?
zinrepus · 27/11/2019 14:19

@Bims2019, we have the parade of birthdays in my family growing up. Two in Sep, one in Oct, one in Nov, one in Dec, one in Jan. And my new nephew was born three days before me, so in the great tradition of autumn birthdays, here's hoping!

@MrsB25 If he's back on Friday or even Saturday, you may still have time! Just depends when your body presses go on the egg, doesn't it? And if it's a no-go, one more irresponsible Christmas! Least, that's why I keep telling myself...

Oooh so exciting, @Waiting1987! Here's hoping the solid one comes soon.

We're taking this month as a passive trying month...BD, tracking with Flo, casual checking of CM (for my own reference), but not necessarily doing the LH tests...I pulled some out from when I was doing Natural Cycles and realised they'd expired...as had the last pregnancy test I bought...so we'll need to do some shopping. I don't have an exact window firmed up, Flo seems to think it'll be Monday, but DH is gone for the weekend, so we'll see how we get on. Again, if it's a no-go, I should find out around Christmas and can have a gay ol' time!

In the meantime, trying to get used to the new working situation (working from home, going a bit stir-crazy, trying to sort out whether it's better to start a new job while TTC or just stick it out until mat leave...).

How's everyone else doing? @SweetpeaOrMarigold have you gotten your coil out yet?

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 27/11/2019 16:06

AF hasn't turned up (due Mon) so am a bit fed up. Can be a few days late here and there, but I had plans to take it out next week when she had gone. Have of course checked but a BFN which is expected as this coil has been excellent protection for 18months.

MrsB25 · 27/11/2019 20:01

I agree @zinrepus will see how we get on Saturday but not going to get myself too hung up on it this month at all, like you say it will be nice to enjoy some Christmas drinks! What do you do for work at the moment? Are you working from home full time?

That’s frustrating @SweetpeaOrMarigold hope AF turns up soon so it doesn’t spoil your plans.

Sounds like a lovely birthday weekend @Bims2019 I love this time of year too!
