Over the last 4 cycles I’ve had my peak OPK on days 16,21,17,19 and ovulated the following day I think. So it really varies but is always later in my cycle. Hoping that isn’t a problem, the doctor didn’t seem to think so and I’ve had the progesterone blood test which they said was consistent with ovulation so I just have to hope that all is ok I guess! I think I will start with OPKs once a day tomorrow on day 12 just in case...good job they are cheap!

Glad your DH is excited, mine was really gutted about the BFN this time as well so is definitely up for it and really taking an interest into how we can improve our chances this time which is nice 😊

Bims2019 · 26/02/2020 08:41

@MrsB25 I'm sure if the doctor wasn't concerned then it's nothing to worry about. And if you're getting the peak on OPKs then that's a good sign :) I so agree, need to order a new batch and am glad they're not more expensive!

That's really great for you both 😊 is he making any changes to improve the chances ornis it more being aware of when to DTD?

Does anyone know if lack of sleep can affect fertilisation? I've just had a couple of nights where I haven't slept well at all, right around ovulation, and am a bit worried that's affected my chance this month. Dr Google doesn't seem to have much info (which is probably a good thing or I'll just worry myself more 🧐).

MrsB25 · 26/02/2020 20:15

I think he’s just more aware, I’ve already had him taking some wellman vitamins and he’s been a bit more proactive about taking them without me feeling like I’ve had to keep reminding him 😂 are you planning on trying anything different this month?

I have never read anything to say that it can! I remember reading that poor sleep could potentially delay ovulation by a couple of days, but haven’t seen anything to say it could affect fertilisation! It’s so hard as there are so many little things that you worry could affect it, really hard to know what does and doesn’t make a difference either way!

Bims2019 · 28/02/2020 08:40

Ah yes @MrsB25, the reminding. Amazing how many changes we make for TTC, and yet some vitamins for them can seem like the most complicated thing ever 😂 we've not really done anything different other than actively DTD in my fertile window. I'm trying to cut down on alcohol and caffeine to see if that helps, I could definitely do with being healthier anyway. Think I may have had some ovulation pain yesterday, either that or I'm just imagining things! And I guess I'm now heading into my first proper TWW 😬 which is very exciting! Feeling positive this month.

Thanks for the reassurance, reckon I just need to relax a bit and not worry 😊

Any nice weekend plans all? Still fed up of all the grey, rain and threats of snow. We're supposed to be going to Seville in two weeks but not sure if we'll go due to stupid coronavirus. Really hope it clears up by then!! Visiting friends this weekend which should be nice.

How are you getting on @zinrepus and @Footymum81?

Footymum81 · 28/02/2020 17:11

Hi everyone.
Sadly AF arrived with a vengeance on Wednesday morning 😔
Not sure what happened with that cycle. So now we’re back to CD3 with OV predicted for CD16. Wish my cycles would just sort themselves out.
Was feeling rather sorry for myself with AF cramps plus I had the flu jab Tuesday so had a sore arm and felt really meh.
Then DS (11 months tomorrow) started saying Mumma for the first time which cheered me up no end.
Low-key weekend here, taking DD15 shopping tomorrow and she has football Sunday so that’s both days spoken for.

Bims2019 · 28/02/2020 17:28

Sorry that AF arrived @Footymum81, she does like to mess us around. It's a pain when you don't know what your cycles are up to, hope next month settles down for you :) how cute about your son! Sounds like a nice busy weekend, enjoy the shopping.

I'm so glad it's the weekend! Heading home for a nice dinner and relaxing evening. Have a good one everyone xx

Bims2019 · 28/02/2020 17:30

I'm also trying really hard not to symptom spot already, it's way too early at 1-2dpo! 😂

MrsB25 · 28/02/2020 17:53

Haha @Bims2019 it’s so hard not to symptom spot even when you know it’s way too early! I am CD13 today, probably won’t ovulate for a little while yet but been DTD every other day since Tues and will try to carry on until I get my positive OPK then do a few days in a row.

The weather is just awful isn’t it, so miserable. Really hope your holiday goes ahead. We are due to go to Rome in just over 4 weeks so hoping Italy doesn’t get much worse, my brother is there at the moment though and said it seems fine there.

We aren’t doing a lot this weekend, seeing my parents for the day tomorrow and just relaxing other than that.

Sorry that AF arrived @Footymum81 😞 how cute about your son though I bet that was an amazing moment! Hope AF doesn’t hang around for too long and that you enjoy your weekend.

zinrepus · 29/02/2020 10:50

Hiya, nothing terribly exciting to report yet. My boobs still hurt, have started having some more regular headaches and twinges of nausea here and there. I had a chat with my mum yesterday and she said she had minor morning sickness, so hopefully I can stop worrying about not being "sick enough."

We told DH's mum on Thursday as she's visiting us for the weekend. She's over the moon and it's nice getting some time with her.

Beyond that, work has been crazy. I organiser our annual conference which is coming up at the end of April. I have my first scan scheduled for the Monday of conference week, so no pressure. 😖

Hopefully everything goes well this month for you all! The symptom spotting is real... Flip side, if you're paying attention to and recording everything, when things start feeling different you may notice it a leeedle bit faster. Data is data! Thinking of you all and wishing the best!

Footymum81 · 01/03/2020 13:49

Thanks all
Had a nice day yesterday. Treated my DD to a pandora ring (she was promised a piece of jewellery for my wedding but it’s taken her 18 months to decide,) and she also chose a necklace with the last money her great grandad gave her before he passed away (she’s kept it for a year while she decided what to do with it)
Then we met up with friends at the pub, DS saw one of his aunties and uncles and his godfather. Been t of a reminder of how lucky we are really as the in-laws have been trying for years and no luck so us not falling on the first cycle is nothing really!
Symptom spotting really is a nightmare. As @zinrepus said, Try and log everything in your app then you can see what is usual and what is unusual, you never really notice things until you look for them, and a lot of AF symptoms are the same or similar to PG.

MrsB25 · 09/03/2020 17:57

Hi everyone, how are we all doing? Where is everyone up to in their cycle? I’m currently Day 23 and around 6DPO. So still a while to wait yet!

Bims2019 · 09/03/2020 21:49

Hi @MrsB25! It has gone quiet on here, hope everyone is okay :) I'm cd25, AF is due in a couple of days. I thought I might have had some symptoms earlier this week (nausea and tender boobs) but they've subsided now, probably wishful thinking 😂 now feel similar to how I usually do before AF, but who knows! If period hasn't arrived by the weekend then I might test 😬 fingers crossed for your TWW, feel like I finally know how hard it is this month!

Footymum81 · 10/03/2020 15:52

Hi, just entering the fertile window here so trying to find time to DTD which is not proving easy, with hubby working shifts and the baby and teenager to work around! Hopefully this is our month though 🤞🏼

Bims2019 · 12/03/2020 13:31

Good luck for your fertile window, @Footymum81! Are you still going to do the SMEP or is that a bit tricky this month?

According to Flo and Ovia, AF was due for me yesterday. Been feeling nauseous on and off with bloating over the last few days so been getting my hopes up, but then have had cramps and spotting this morning. No idea if it's AF on the way a day late or could it be implantations?!

If I'm not bleeding more later then I might do a test, just really don't want to see a negative! 🙈

Bims2019 · 12/03/2020 17:00

After all that it seems AF has arrived 🙄 oh well, I have bought some wine!

MrsB25 · 12/03/2020 17:27

Ohhhh no @Bims2019 so sorry that she’s arrived, especially after being late giving you time to get your hopes up a little. Enjoy your wine and look after yourself!

I’m coming to the end of my two week wait now, AF is due Monday. Had lower back ache the last few days but had that last month as well so thinking it’s probably a sign of AF rather than of a BFP. We are going away to stay with friends this weekend though so hoping that the weekend will at least go by quickly and I will know one way or another by the start of next week.

Good luck in your fertile week @Footymum81

Bims2019 · 12/03/2020 17:44

Thanks @MrsB25, it's a bit disappointing but would have been incredibly lucky to fall this month. We didn't DTD a huge amount in my fertile window so not sure why I'm surprised! We are supposed to be going to Seville this weekend which I've been really looking forward to, but with the current state of things not sure it's the best idea... I really don't want to cancel as desperado for a holiday! However I'm not sure it's worth the risk.

Really hope AF doesn't show for you, and either way you have a lovely weekend Smile

MrsB25 · 12/03/2020 19:22

Ahhh we were meant to be going to Rome in a couple of weeks but obviously that’s been cancelled now with Italy being on lockdown. In a way I was glad the decision was taken out of our hands. Must be hard to decide what to do, will you be able to get any money back if you don’t go?

The whole situation is just crazy isn’t it! Really can’t believe how much it has taken over every day life. The supermarkets are so empty it’s bonkers!

Bims2019 · 13/03/2020 08:59

It's crazy! I am trying really hard not to get caught up in the hype but so hard when it's so in your face all the time. We're getting lots of queries at work, and I get why people are anxious especially if they're pregnant or have elderly relatives. Pretty sure we'll end up needing to work from home at some point. What's it like in your school?

Sorry about your Rome trip, that's rubbish. But you're right, at least the decision was made for you and guessing you got your money back? I'm keeping a close eye on the news as kind of hoping they cancel flights to Spain. I had taken out a cancellation option with the hotel for a small fee, but got an email from the company last night saying they have to void this because of the high demand at the moment. Fuming!! Especially as hadn't even decided to cancel yet. They got a really snotty email from me!

MrsB25 · 15/03/2020 06:59

@Bims2019 nothing has really changed at school just yet, but we got an email on Friday afternoon saying that we will be having a meeting after school on Monday to discuss planning for closures, work to send home etc. I’m expecting to be closed at the end of this coming week.

Saw yesterday that Spain is now on lockdown so assuming that your holiday will be cancelled and that you can get your money back? We are due to go to Barcelona at the end of May so will wait it out but imagine that will end up getting cancelled too.

AF arrived for me last night 😩 a couple of days earlier than expected so took me by surprise. Feel sad, but better than last month when she was late and I had got my hopes up more.

Bims2019 · 05/05/2020 14:00

Hi all, long time no chat!

I've had bit of a break from forums etc recently, but thought I would check back on to see how everyone is 😊

Not much news from me, we have been 'trying' for a couple of months now (I say trying, it's been more like NTNP but have been trying to DTD semi regularly). Hubby and I are both working from home, and have been for the past 6/7 weeks... I've lost count! I did wonder if we should wait a bit given the pandemic, but we've decided to carry on. Even though I know there's still plenty of time, it's something we've waited for for a long time. Anyway, AF is due for me today but no sign yet, so who knows! I'm trying to keep optimistic. A plus side is that we both have a lot more time together now, and I think we've been feeling up for DTD a lot more than we would otherwise which has been nice.

How is everyone getting on? @MrsB25 and @Footymum81 hope you've had some luck with TTC and @zinrepus hope your scan went well? Really hope you're all keeping safe and well during these crazy times x

zinrepus · 06/05/2020 13:40

Hiya! Nice to see the posts! I've mostly been off MN as of late, but it was sweet to see this notification come through.

Scan went well! It was a little bittersweet because my other half couldn't be there (NHS regulations) but that's the price of pregnancy mid-pandemic. There's a little nugget in there, completely unimpressed with being awake or moving during the scan.

I'm exactly 15 weeks today (realised I've been sheltering for dang near half the pregnancy at this point!). We have the anomaly/sex scan in early June, but in the meantime things seem to be ticking over okay. Bump is still completely indiscernible from my pre-existing tum flub, but I'm sort of expecting it to become obvious anytime within the next 5 weeks. It's so weird because the range of "normal" varies so widely.

How is everyone else getting on? My husband and I are both working from home; it varies day to day whether I'm totally fine with it or sad/ragey about things, but that is life.

Hope you're all doing well!

Bims2019 · 08/05/2020 15:57

Hi @zinrepus! It's nice to hear how you're doing, congratulations on the scan! Really glad that everything is going well, it must be weird being pregnant during the pandemic. Can your other half come to the next scan or is it wait and see? And will you find out the sex? Smile

We are all good, a bit bored at times but feel lucky with the lovely weather so it could be worse. Lots of time in the garden, and we've not fallen out yet thank god 😂 still no AF for me this cycle, I'm a couple of days late but tested yesterday and got a bfn. Don't feel as though she's on her way but also not really got any symptoms, so who knows 🤷🏼‍♀️

MrsB25 · 13/05/2020 19:57

Hi ladies, nice to hear from you both!!

Really glad things are progressing well for you @zinrepus how exciting! It must be a very strange time to be pregnant. Really hope DH can come to your next scan with you.

@Bims2019 good to hear from you too! Glad you are doing ok. Any sign of AF yet?

No luck for us yet either, we have been trying for 5 months now (only 4 cycles though as we skipped one that would have been a Christmas due date). I flit from being ok to being really really down when AF arrives. I know it’s normal to take up to a year but can’t help but have the worry in the back of my mind that something is wrong!

Glad you are both well in these strange and scary times, definitely never thought the year would turn out this way!
