Thank you @Destiny25. Iv heard of ovulation spotting but I'm confused as iv been doing looooads of opks and none are positive, some get a bit darker but nowhere near positive. I'm worried iv missed it. Will see what tomorrow brings. Dont give up hope, you just never know xx

MrsSkr · 22/09/2019 13:31

How is everyone getting on? xx

Destiny25 · 22/09/2019 15:39

Had the worse back ache on and off since Friday, night be ovulating if I havnt already, testing on cd35 as that's the longest cycle I've had if I havnt started af by then. X

Zm2019 · 22/09/2019 16:19

I'm good. Think I ovulated tuesday wednesday but the last few days I have been too tired for dtd so i am hoping i caught it right. Now in the dreaded tww again. Hope your doing ok x

Peaceandloves · 22/09/2019 16:46

Hello I'm new to this group and hoping you ladies can share your wisdom with me. I've been on the pill solidly for 16years, the last seven of which have been the mini pill. I am now 31 and wanting to start trying to conceive in January (financially this is better for us). I am wondering about coming off the pill now and just using condoms until Jan to give time for my cycle to restart and settle? Is this advised? Also is it worth me starting to take any vitamins or folic acid before January or not much point? Thanks ladies and hope all having a good Sunday xx

claireb707 · 22/09/2019 16:56

I'm doing ok ish I think, am on 7dpo and felling a bit all over the place but also feeling like this isn't going to be our month. Think work stress is getting to me so I cannot wait for our holiday next weekend. Am thinking I'm going to test Friday morning as don't really want to take stuff with me but also conversely if I get a negative is it really going to be negative 🤔

claireb707 · 22/09/2019 16:57

@Peaceandloves ooh welcome, I'd definitely start taking folic acid now, not sure on everything else but someone else might know

MrsSkr · 22/09/2019 17:12

@Destiny25 Oh that may be ovulation or if you have ovulated could it be early symptoms? I seem to have long cycles too evidently, still no positive opk yet but I'm glad as dh and I have both been poorly so not dtd for ages. Might try tonight then that might tide us over another couple of days lol. I'm feeling particularly crap today, was starting to feel better but this afternoon just started feeling pretty down and weepy, god knows what's going on.

@Zm2019 Oh that's exciting, good luck on the tww!

@Peaceandloves Welcome! Exciting times ahead! Personally I'd say yes, I'd come off the pill soon and get your cycles regulated and maybe track them to get an idea of what's happening, it may make ttc a little easier if you have a rough idea when you normally ovulate and how long your cycles are. And I would also start taking folic acid too, I'm sure I read a recommendation somewhere to take it 3 months prior to ttc to get it in your system but I didnt do it that far in advance, think I started about a month before.

Oh @claireb707 Its a tricky time, especially if you have other stresses too. Hope you feel better. It's still very early so you never know, youd likely not be getting symptoms yet either way. I had the same deliberation about the tests on holiday, personally I'd prob end up taking them with me or I'd be running around Spain trying to find them. As it turns out I prob wont need to worry about it since I haven't ov'd yet and leave in week, my tww will end when I return home. Good luck! xx

Zm2019 · 22/09/2019 17:16

@Peaceandloves hi, I was never in the pill I was only ever on the depo injection. I came off that in may 2017 and it took my body over a year to get my periods back to normal. We starting ttc number 2 this august and we had been careful before then. As with Folic Acid we starting trying in August and I started taking this in June. All the best for you x

Peaceandloves · 22/09/2019 18:59

Thank you all for your advice. So excited but very nervous. Got a feeling it won't be easy so trying to be proactive now. So nice to be able to have people to talk too as we are trying to keep things quiet until we are eventually pregnant xx

Destiny25 · 22/09/2019 19:22

@MrsSkr aww I hope you feel better soon,
We have only dtd twice over the period up to when I thought I'd ovulated, and then dtd today as this backache is telling me somethings happening whether it's ov or implantation.
So either way I'm not hopeful this month, and tbh I'm been far too relaxed to be bothered this month haha!

Bims2019 · 23/09/2019 08:51

Hi all, I'm new too and will be coming off the pill in the next few days. Probably won't start TTC for a couple of months at least as we're mid house moving and it's quite a stressful time of year in general due to our jobs, but I've started taking folic acid in preparation. Any tips much appreciated, I'm excited to join you all and wish everyone lots of luck!

@Peaceandloves I'm also 31 and in a similar position to you, going to use condoms for a while so that cycles can hopefully get back to "normal". I've been on the pill on and off for 10 years so no idea what to expect! It's nice to have somewhere to go as we've not talked to anyone else about TTC...

Thanks again all, hope you have a good week! :)

Peaceandloves · 23/09/2019 09:22

@Bims2019 having read the thread I'm going to come off the pill this week too. Sooner than I thought but I can see that it will take time for my body to adjust without the hormones. Im so excited to start trying for a baby in the new year. The main worry for me is finances and balancing work / Chileldcare. Ive been with my OH for eight years and never been bothered about having kids until the last twelve months. It's like a switch went off in me and now I can't stop thinking about having a family. It's so strange! I keep hearing people say there's never a perfect time to have children and so I'm just conscious of my age and wanting to try and start the process now. What will be will be! :)

Doubl · 23/09/2019 10:02

Just had my first positive OPK at CD19, I'm usually a 28/28 day cycle so must just be a late on this month.
Glad I checked today as I had given up with opks and would've been gutted in thinking my period was late when it just wasn't due 🤷‍♀️

claireb707 · 23/09/2019 10:50

Hmmm hints of cramping this morning 🤔 8dpo today - would that fit with implantation? Can be early period cramping could it? Am only cd18 :S

Luxoire · 23/09/2019 15:22

Welcome new ladies @Peaceandloves and @Bims2019 yeah i'd say cps u nevrr know what ur system will do when u cpme off pill..come off and give yourself time for tpur cycles and hormones to adjust it took me 6 months to concieve my first when i first came off the pill adter being on it for 16yrs...took less with my second as i only went back for 2 yrs...but everyone ia different. Luxoire · 23/09/2019 16:43

@claireb707 hmm that's interesting - you never know...i am looking forward to starting next cycle although part of me wishes we had an 'accident' this month!!

it would throw all my plans into disarray BUT i can't say i will be disappointed lol

Zm2019 · 23/09/2019 16:44

@claireb707 I am cd15 and I have had lots of cramps the last couple of days. I normally get cramps the day before my period or the first two days of it.
I have had heavy boobs also the last couple of days. Which is normal for me near period time. But my app says Next Saturday I am due on and never really get them this early before but then i was late last time. I hate this waiting, takes forever.

Good luck to you @Luxoire . I am always stocked up on pregnancy tests. Lol think I get addicted to them haha

wannabemum38 · 23/09/2019 16:48

I came off pill end of June. Had first bleed 47 days after and then a cycle in August and September 28 days ovulation around CD15. I read it can take a few weeks or months to conceive after coming off pill it's really a lottery. I was hoping to have caught by now as I'm flying on holiday end of November and really nervous about doing so if in early stages of pregnancy as I'm 39 anyway and risk of miscarriage etc but don't want to stop trying either. So complicated.

PieAndPumpkins · 23/09/2019 17:47

@MrsSkr hope you're feeling a bit better now. We've all been under the weather the last few days too. The seasonal virus's are out with a vengeance.

Welcome to the new ladies, glad to have you here 🙂

Bims2019 · 23/09/2019 17:55

@Luxoire thanks for the welcome, all this OPK and cycle business is new to me so it's good to have a starting point with coming off the pill! At least that's something I can control, whatever comes next :) I'd like to start trying by the end of the year, but will see what happens. Husband and I also need to have a chat about timelines, as we haven't really talked about that much... Only that we'll use other contraception for now and see how it goes. Good luck for this month, it's so exciting!!

@Peaceandloves sounds like a good plan, and at least then you're making steps towards TTC. It's so hard to know when to start, but having a timeframe in mind does help. Funny what you say about the switch as well, I am exactly the same! I've always known I wanted babies at some point but not been in any kind of rush. Since I got to 30 it's suddenly been super important! Like you say, what will be will be. It would be nice to take a relaxed approach at first if we can :)

Bims2019 · 24/09/2019 08:19

Thanks @PieAndPumpkins :)

Don't know about everyone else but these dark rainy mornings are getting to me already. Hope people manage to avoid the dreaded lurgy. On the bright side, I've taken my last pill today so it finally feels like things can move forward a bit!

Peaceandloves · 24/09/2019 09:12

@Bims2019 that's very exciting! Let us k ow how things go for you. I'm stopping when this packet ends on Sunday x
