@Destiny25 the past two weeks I have definitely felt like I was pregnant (as I was coming off the pill) but now after 3 weeks I'm on my period which just feels like a normal period.
But I had all those weird pregnancy symptoms!
I feel much better now my period has finally arrived. I don't feel as emotional either so that's good!

HappyGirl86 · 06/08/2019 09:05

Hi @MrsSkr welcome!
Sounds exciting! I also have a little one who was born in 2016. I've only just really felt like I could do it again after a horrible birth.
Where are you going on holiday?
We wanted to book one but I wanted to start trying so we didn't but I'd love a break away!

HappyGirl86 · 06/08/2019 09:07

@wannabemum38 good luck for the weekend! Lots of positive baby making thoughts!
I'm a little behind you but I've already warned dh to get ready for a few busy days haha!
I didn't use the ovulation sticks last time but I've been reading about the sperm meets egg method and going to try that this time, so I've got some from amazon.
I don't want to obsess over it all but it does seem to make sense to time it when you are ovulating.

HappyGirl86 · 06/08/2019 09:08

Awww @Luxoire sounds like you need a big glass of wine, a big glass of gin or a BIG bar of chocolate!
I hope you are ok......are you having the chat today? Do you think he isn't sure?

MrsSkr · 06/08/2019 11:01

Hi @HappyGirl86 In April next year we are actually just going to a Lodge near Scarborough for my Dads Birthday so not too far. We are going abroad to Spain end of Sept this year so hoping the holiday air gets us a lucky bfp for Oct 🤞 xx

MrsSkr · 06/08/2019 11:04

Also, sorry to hear you had a hard birth first time around. Bad past experiences do make it harder. I had a good birth but suffered fairly badly with anxiety all through pregnancy and postnatal. I think due to the mc, I was sure something terrible would happen. I therefore hated being pregnant and struggled in the early days so that scares me about trying again xx

Destiny25 · 06/08/2019 12:23

@HappyGirl86, I'm hoping my real AF won't be too long,
I had the bleed coming off the implant/pill (I was on both at the same time only for two weeks in total tho) and then I had half a day spotting last Friday so not sure what that was then (TMI) I had the clear stretchy cm only for 1 day tho on Saturday, not sure I can calculate when I'm ovulating etc yet but I do keep doing OPKs.

How long untill you got your first proper period?

HappyGirl86 · 06/08/2019 14:09

@Destiny25 I stopped taking the pill on 14th July and my period finally came on Sunday. I'm treating it as a period rather than a withdrawal bleed because it seems pretty much the same as any period. When I had my daughter I came off my pill, had a period like this and got pregnant that same month as the bleed. I really would love that to be the case this time too but don't see I'll be that lucky!
Strangely I had that mucusy egg white stuff before my period arrived so I did think I might have been ovulating but maybe not. I didn't have my ovulation sticks then, so can't be sure.

HappyGirl86 · 06/08/2019 14:12

@MrsSkr your holidays sound lovely! Something to look forward to!
We're actually going to Anglesey in September with PIL. It will be either be the week I am testing for a BFP or getting my period! Arghhhhhhhhhgg!!!! Would be lovely if it was positive news.

I never thought I would ever get over the bad birth, I always said no way will I ever do that again but now I feel so much more at peace with it. Don't get me wrong, I'd be nervous, but most women will be nervous I imagine. It's something I really feel a longing to do now, I'm happy I feel like this again.

Luxoire · 06/08/2019 14:17

@MrsSkr aww welcome to the club hun, Monday isn't far now!! you will be fine, just focus on getting back to you and be ready to get pregnant straight away lol hahaha good luck sweet x

@HappyGirl86 tonight is the decision night - reckon i will hear him out first before I say anything because if he just not ready now, i dont want to 'force' ihm in case he resents me later when he is stressed and there is a crying baby and he just cant concentrate lol

Destiny25 · 06/08/2019 14:50

@HappyGirl86 aww fingers crossed you are just as lucky this time.
I think I'll just wait to see if my period comes rather than opk test or pregnancy test all the time, I'll give it untill the end of the month before worrying.

Good luck with trying!!

HappyGirl86 · 06/08/2019 18:06

Yeh it's helpful if you try and be laid back about it @Destiny25 but I know that's hard sometimes!

Good luck @Luxoire let us know how the talk goes. You already have 2 children is that right?

wannabemum38 · 06/08/2019 18:28

Had some CF today so hopefully means ovulation is on its way. OP test was negative but slightly more than a faint line so crossing fingers 🤞

Luxoire · 06/08/2019 18:31

@HappyGirl86 yes thats rigjt 6 yr old abd 3.5yr old...so all things considered I am grateful really!

Will def let you know how it goes x

@HappyGirl86 I'm sure my af is on its way, started with some bloody mucus so fingers crossed the ball is rolling.

MrsSkr · 06/08/2019 19:21

@HappyGirl86 your holiday in Sept sounds lovely too, it's so nice to get away!! Fingers crossed it brings you holiday luck for a bfp! Time is such a great healer and given time it's great you feel ready again. Our bodies go through so much with pregnancy and childbirth, I think its sensible and normal to be apprehensive and wait until you are 100% ready. But of course you'll still be nervous. Just remember every time is different and it might be the completely opposite experience.

@Luxoire Hi and thank you! No not far at all, I'm excited but need to remember not to get too excited as we arnt officially 'trying' yet lol.
Good luck with your talk tonight, I think your taking a good approach but doesnt make it easier if you dont get the decision you want. I really hope you do, I'd love a buddy come Oct/Nov xx

HappyGirl86 · 06/08/2019 20:34

Thanks @MrsSkr you are right of course, and if I am lucky to get pregnant I am going to keep reminding myself that's it's a completely different experience.
I would opt for a planned c section so if I get lucky I will be asking for any positive planned c section experiences!

MrsSkr · 06/08/2019 20:52

@HappyGirl86 Yes that's all you can do, of course it's easier said than done but just try to focus on the end outcome and I have heard of people having terrible births then going onto have a much better experience so it does happen. I didnt have a c section so cant help I'm afraid but I'm sure a planned c section would be much calmer and more pleasant than an emergency one so definitely worth it if that's what you want. Have you tried hypnobirthing? I went to classes first time around (more so to help ease my anxiety around being pregnant). I didnt really follow it but I did fine some of the techniques useful and did relax me. The breathing helped my anxiety and helped take my focus away from other things. They do say it can really help when going through a section too so it might be worth looking into? xx

HappyGirl86 · 07/08/2019 06:37

@MrsSkr yes I did actually read the book last pregnancy and I did a pregnancy yoga class. I loved all the breathing techniques, it did help me to relax so I would definitely go to a class like this again. If I do get pregnant I may even ask for another debrief where you meet with a senior midwife who goes over the details with you- not to make me feel worse but maybe to reassure me that it was just a one off and doesn't mean I would have another bad experience!

Luxoire · 07/08/2019 10:24

@HappyGirl86 @wannabemum38 @Destiny25 @MrsSkr THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR THR ENCOURAGEMENT AND SUPPORT

I've been bursting to come here and uodate you guys Hahah...We had our chat last night and he said he was only suggesting waiting because he was thinking of me and how I'd cope with him not being around much whilst he settles in to his new job. Says he definitely wants it and now if I am sure its what I want. I said well it made me think he's mot ready and i'd much rather he said now then resent me later when the sleepless nights and poop nappies hit the fan hahaha...he said me being ready and happy with the decision is most important than when he wants so if I want it now then lets do it. We Will see how I feel in Devember if pregnant and we can see his sister in Texas April or in a couple of years if I dont feel up to it.

So we have a holiday coming up in Spain for 1 wrek on the 15th...we agreed as a compromise for him...i'd stay on the pill until the 22nd August when we come back and then I am stright off the pill...and can condoms until mid september and start trying then...p.s. He doesnt like condoms much Hahahah

So I am still WTTC until atleast mid/late Sept....hoping for a BFP oct /Nov.

@Luxoire ooh that's really good news for you, I'm happy he also wants to try!
Fingers crossed you catch on straight away once your ready.

Luxoire · 07/08/2019 15:52

@Destiny25 Grin thanks darling...and I thoight to myself..yeah I quickly want to catch before he changes his mind hahaha I would love a July/August baby and the way my cycle falls I would nees to get pregnant Nov or Dec ovulation..i jist sat here for 30mins to work it all out...so I will let him have his holiday and then come off for Sep ovulation and Oct ovulation...msy not last much longer without condom..so from ooct might do NTNP hahahha

HappyGirl86 · 07/08/2019 16:20

Yayyyyyy!!!! Woohooo @Luxoire I'm happy for you SmileSmileSmile
Great news and sounds like you have it all planned perfectly Smile

So girls......my period finished today.....I want to follow sperm meets egg plan so that suggests starting DTD from day 8 which would be Monday.
My questions are- will it do any harm to do it before then? Dh birthday tomorrow so I think he is hoping for some action hahahahaha!
Is it worth trying before the 8th or not?
Do you ruin your "supply" if you do it too much?! Haha
Genuine questions!
Help me girls haha

Luxoire · 07/08/2019 17:29

@Happygirl86 aww thanks hun.

Well I am not an expert on sperm meets egg method..matter of fact I might research it...nut I have always just done thr deed as much as possible from about 4/5 days before ovulation to about 4/5days after ovulation...that just makes sure there are MORE THAN ENOUGH sperms floating around inside me (sorry TMI) for when the egg is release...mainly bcos my cycle lengths vary anywhere from 27-30 days I am not a regular 28/30 kids girl.

Also dtd with him on his birthday will make him feel appreciated and not only being used as a baby making machine..even though thats the zone ur mind is in now! Hahaha...does that help? Xx
