Anyone in the same boat? I'm 33 and from next week DH and I will be actively trying for #1. I'm excited, nervous, trying to be chill about it all but also imagining myself with a bump celebrating Xmas this year Grin

I started taking SS 'trying for a baby' supplements 4 weeks ago, not sure if it was their effects or not but this month my cycle was 20 days. Otherwise i'm 27 days always. Anyways, let's see what happens.

Hoping to find some pals in a similar place at the moment on here!

@Ellsbells112 you can vent away, it’s a frustrating thing and like you I’m always the most crazy with it all right at the end of the TWW. Fingers crossed no AF shows but if it does try to relax and have a good weekend. I agree, I feel I’ve tried combinations of so many things I just don’t know what it takes. We have a lot of sex in the month so it can’t. E that we are missing it, I’m beginning to guess luck and chance is basically it.

Positivity2019 · 18/10/2019 22:14

My fertile week starts the end of next week. I’m starting to use my OPK from next weds and that will be my first SMEP day too. OH is fully on board, he is just as keen as me for a BFP and although he keeps level headed I know every period is hard for him too.

Ellsbells112 · 18/10/2019 22:32

@positivity2019 its exactly that I think. Well if it comes i will be in Italy on Sunday so I cant lie that really will help lol. It is hard every month it doesnt happen you cant help but get down...I think I kind of blame myself too because when I was younger an accident happened and it just really wasnt the right time or situation for me and I just cant help but think "this is what you get" 🤦‍♀️ sounds shitty but I cant help it sometimes.

You enjoy your weekend too and just keep going! I guess that's all we can do x

Positivity2019 · 18/10/2019 23:17

@Ellsbells112 have a great and relaxing time in Italy, don’t dwell on what happened in the past although I know that’s probably easier said than done.
I’ve recently completed a degree and during those four years my mantra was Just Keep Swimming, I feel that I can apply that mantra to TTC as well.

Ellsbells112 · 19/10/2019 09:26

@positivity2019 I came on during the night. On to the next cycle

Wearenotyourkind · 19/10/2019 11:44

How are you doing today? @Wakemeupwithcoffee sorry to hear that AF has arrived @Ellsbells112 go and have a fab time in Italy and don't let her spoil it.

Wearenotyourkind · 19/10/2019 11:45

@Positivity2019 we say "just keep swimming " a lot at work! It helps us get through...I agree that the same also applies to TTC!

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 19/10/2019 12:43

Hi all good luck for next cycle 🤞 the aching has gone away this morning phew! I was stressed and emotional last night but seem to have woken up in a better mood!

Positivity2019 · 19/10/2019 21:57

Glad to hear that aching has gone away @Wakemeupwithcoffee. Have a restful weekend and take it easy.

megan94x · 20/10/2019 22:10

Hey ladies,

I’ve literally spent 2 hours reading all this thread! This is what Sunday’s have turned into 😂 TTC for the first time.

Had a traumatic ectopic in August, it ruptured leading to my left tube having to be removed in emergency surgery.

According to Ovia my period is due in 6 days. I can see myself becoming totally obsessed with this tracking and symptom spotting!

Ellsbells112 · 21/10/2019 07:25

@megan94x hi hun and welcome! Yes it's easy to get obsessed with it but not great for your mental health let me tell you!!

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 21/10/2019 07:49

Hi @megan94x that sounds awful. How far along were you when that happened? Does that mean your egg will only get through every other month? I know of someone who’d had the same trouble but she had twins a while back! So I think they said her good side had released two eggs (they were non identical)! Good luck!

megan94x · 21/10/2019 08:40

They suspected I was around 6/7 weeks, finding out I was PG was such a shock as I was on the pill, we got our heads round it all excited and that happened.

I suppose it depends which side I ovulate from. I’m more worried as the doctors told me I have 1/10 chance it can happen again. But they said it shouldn’t affect trying to get pregnant... Hopefully I’m a lucky one and have twins (this happened to my auntie after an ectopic and ruptured tube too)

Period due in 4 days and I’ve told myself I’m not testing until then 😂 How if everyone this morning?

Han1213 · 21/10/2019 12:13

Hi @megan94x Sorry to hear what you’ve been through.
I was 4 days early too this month! Weird.

Wearenotyourkind · 22/10/2019 14:51

Welcome @megan94x

Glad to hear you're doing better @Wakemeupwithcoffee

I've got this week off work as it's my bday on Friday. Anyone find bdays really depressing when TTC 1st baby as it feels like a reminder you're getting older and your biological clock is ticking?? I'm not excited to be turning 34 😫

TurquoiseKiss · 22/10/2019 18:46

Hi everybody, its been a couple of weeks since I checked in!

Welcome @megan94x so sorry to hear about your ectopic, sounds like such an ordeal for you. Was this your 1st pregnancy? I'm the lady who started this thread back in July, I'm nearly 12 weeks pregnant now with my 1st.

Happy birthday for later this week @Wearenotyourkind - are you doing anything special on the day? Enjoy your week off!

Things have been much the same for me although this evening I've come home to a letter than has put the wind up me. I'm 12 weeks tomorrow and have my 12-week scan the day after. Anyways, the letter (dated 14 Oct from the hospital, received today!) has said they need me to do another urine sample. I had my (half) booking-in appointment on Friday 11 Oct, so they obviously picked up something not right with it, or lost the sample entirely, and this was flagged on the Monday. I'm trying to de-stress myself by thinking surely they would have called me if it was something sinister? The nurse did a dipstick test on it there and then and told me everything looked fine, but I'm aware when its sent off to the lab they look for other things. Anyways, there are AM and PM drop-in times to give another sample, however as I'm there on Thursday for the scan in the afternoon I'll just do it then as I'm at work all day tomorrow. Has anyone had similar before in previous pregnancies? I'm annoyed it seems the letter was sitting there waiting to be posted for over a week, I could have arranged to go in last week.

Hope everybody is doing fine.

All the best
TK

@Wearenotyourkind I totally sympathise. Make sure you do something nice on your birthday maybe something you won’t be able to do when you’re pregnant like going to a spa and drinking!
@TurquoiseKiss I’m sure they would have rung you if there was any problem rather than written. Hope the scan goes well! Still nauseas on and off here hoping it will pass soon.

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 23/10/2019 12:05

I was thinking maybe you could ring your midwife team today and explain about the delayed letter? They might be able to put your mind at rest.

I’ve got family coming to stay at the weekend and I’m desperate to keep it quiet until scan and screening done so feeling a bit anxious!

Good luck today @TurquoiseKiss and let us know. @Wearenotyourkind when are you due on?
Getting so much sleep at the moment I go to bed at 9 and try to read but fall asleep!

Wearenotyourkind · 25/10/2019 11:30

@Wakemeupwithcoffee oh there'll be a few drinks later, don't worry about that! We've been out for breakfast and I ate all the pancakes. I'm CD20 I think, so AF due in a week or so. Hope everyone else is going okay and if not already pregnant, then join me 🍾🥂

TurquoiseKiss · 25/10/2019 12:38

Hey Wakemeupwithcoffee all went reasonably well yesterday, they were unable to measure the neck as the baby wouldn't stay still for long enough.

I'm not usually a sensitive person, but the sonographer was very - blunt - and we had to drag information out of her.

It went like this: "I'm unable to measure the neck. You'll have to have bloods done at 15 weeks instead to screen for downs. You'll probably have to wait for 20 week scan for clearer image".

DH asked her for more info about the neck, she then said it was due to the baby not getting in the right position for her to be able to do so. Then I felt a lot better, my first thoughts were that she couldn't see any neck to measure! I enjoyed the experience still, my stomach is covered in bruises today from where the probe was really digging - is this the norm?? I also asked for her to print whatever she felt was the clearest image - you can definitely see the outline of a baby there! So glad I pushed back on that.

After the scan we had to wait to see the midwife team, I was told to come in in 3 weeks anytime between certain hours to do the blood test for Downs...at my midwife appointment this morning (to finish off booking in) apparently this information is all false. They've booked me in (kind of) at a different hospital (they sort of operate as a consortium) which is walking distance from me, and was my request. Nobody in the team would answer the phone in said hospital, the midwife said her colleague does a shift there next week so she will ask her to book me in on the system herself. To be frank, i'm not hopeful.

We're now toying with just spending the £ on a harmony test with scan next week.

Sorry everyone, I hope I don't sound like i'm moaning - we were delighted yesterday and I know its very common not to be able to get a nuchal measurement. I'm just a bit fed up with differing information, being seen ages after stated appointment time, and admin errors (which I won't bore the thread with!).

Happy birthday @Wearenotyourkind ! Hope you have a lovely day. Thanks for the update @TK I’ve not had bruises before but have felt it uncomfortable. Such a shame about the neck measurement. I haven’t heard of harmony test but we are thinking of having an Iona test and I imagine it’s the same thing. Lovely you could get a picture and see the baby though but shame you could get all sorted at the same time. Doesn’t sounds like things have gone smoothly for you, I hope things improve 🤞

Wearenotyourkind · 28/10/2019 17:51

Hope everyone is okay? I'm CD23 and just got the highest OPK I've had to date. So not quite sure what's going on as AF is supposedly due at the weekend. I've had nothing even close to positive since I started testing on CD9. EWCM ++ today too. Maybe a longer cycle or just late ovulation? Will wait and see what happens next.
