Anyone in the same boat? I'm 33 and from next week DH and I will be actively trying for #1. I'm excited, nervous, trying to be chill about it all but also imagining myself with a bump celebrating Xmas this year Grin

I started taking SS 'trying for a baby' supplements 4 weeks ago, not sure if it was their effects or not but this month my cycle was 20 days. Otherwise i'm 27 days always. Anyways, let's see what happens.

Hoping to find some pals in a similar place at the moment on here!

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the support 😊 no have not told a soul! Told everyone on both sides of the family last two times plus a few friends but this time I’d like to keep it to ourselves until we think everything ok. I think it’s with being older. I think I read somewhere the risk of miscarriage at 38 is 30% or something! I’ve made an appointment today to see the same GP I saw over a year ago to talk through things. He said I could get straight on the hyperemesis meds if I need to instead of waiting til I am in a state and admitted to hospital! Appointment isn’t for ages though. I can’t believe how normal I feel. I don’t know whether to worry or just enjoy it!

Positivity2019 · 16/09/2019 21:06

No symptoms really @Ellsbells112 so not really sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. Hear so many different things, some people have early symptoms and other people have nothing.
@wakemeupwithcoffee I say just enjoy it. What an exciting time!!

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 16/09/2019 21:46

I don’t know if this is helpful for anyone but just been back through messages to my mum and found one saying thought I had bad pms: headaches, mood swings, irritability, anxiety, fatigue, trouble concentrating! Would have been about 5 dpo!

TurquoiseKiss · 17/09/2019 13:23

Hey everybody, I had my GP appointment this morning. They referred me for an early scan and I got a call with an appointment for later this afternoon. Send me your good vibes, I'm suddenly feeling very emotional. What will be will be 🤞Whatever happens, I'll let you all know how it went. Hope everyone is doing fine.

Sending lots of luck @TurquoiseKiss 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 17/09/2019 16:25

Thinking of you 🤞

TurquoiseKiss · 17/09/2019 18:28

All fine and as it should be 💕 Little bean is measuring 8.5mm and I saw their heartbeat flickering away on the screen! Dated me as 6w + 6d, so I was 3 days ahead in my estimations. Went away with a scan photo pleased as punch Grin Also, couldn't praise the NHS highly enough for all the great care I've had today.

Wearenotyourkind · 17/09/2019 20:04

Brilliant news! 😍

AlmostAlwyn · 17/09/2019 20:10

That's great news, @TurquoiseKiss! Flowers

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 17/09/2019 21:13

Ah brilliant! 😊Just reading up on what you can’t eat when preg! Also only 200mg of caffeine! This may come as a surprise but I like my morning coffee 😆 I don’t think I cut back previous times but gonna follow all the rules this time!

Mim21 · 17/09/2019 22:00

Congratulations @Wakemeupwithcoffee great news!

@TurquoiseKiss so pleased to hear your scan showed everything was well!

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 18/09/2019 07:23

Any one know if it’s ok to carry on with the trying to get pregnant vits when pregnant? I’m presuming so as it’s the same folic acid amount which is the main thing isn’t it? Also to those pregnant: did you get straight on with arranging a booking in appointment or not yet? I think I saw you just need to have it before 10 weeks? Thanks

Absa · 18/09/2019 07:56

@Wakemeupwithcoffee I asked my friend this who had seen a consultant because of complications and she asked the same Qs as had a big stock and was told absolutely fine to continue using.

TurquoiseKiss · 18/09/2019 11:30

Thanks guys!

Wakemeupwithcoffee On your Q about booking-in, I checked my GP surgery's website but there was no info about what to do after you find out you're pregnant (I know in some areas its all online self-referral to antenatal care). I called the surgery when I was around 4w + 3d and the first available GP appointment was over 2 weeks, if that wait was too long I could self-refer. I took it as we had our holiday during that fortnight anyway plus it still felt like super early days. However I believe you're correct, the advice is to be under antenatal care no later than 10 weeks. While I was at the GP yesterday she did my referral to antenatal care and said I'd get a call from midwifery team. I was glad I kept the GP appointment as she sent off my referral to EPU at 11am and by 1pm I had a call with a scan appointment for the same day. I know in some areas you can call EPU direct to arrange an appointment, however my local hospital's EPU you need a clinician referral then they call you.

GP was very up on the current guidelines, on your Q about vitamins - she said the only supplement to bother with from TTC to 12 weeks pregnant is folic acid. I told her I was taking folic acid & vitamin d, iron & vitamin c, and vitamin b6 - she said they're probably not doing me any harm, but there's also no evidence any of the others are doing me any good. I'll carry on with them, especially as I've had no nausea so far and wondering if it is the B6 building up? Apparently a blood test at 12 weeks will show if you are excessive or deficient in anything. Good luck! Let us know how you get on!

@TurquoiseKiss that’s lovely to hear you saw the heartbeat. Glad to hear all is well.
Hope everyone is fine. I’m around 7DPO and I’ve nothing much symptom wise except literally just now as I was leaving work I was getting these very short dull stabbing pains in my side, just above my left hip. Not painful but noticeable, they came and went every few mins. Never had it before so might be nothing. AF due sun or mon so just keeping waiting.

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 19/09/2019 20:12

Good luck to @Ellsbells112 and @Positivity2019 any more symptoms? @Han1213 did your period start? How’s everyone else doing? Some of you have gone very quiet!

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 19/09/2019 20:13

@TurquoiseKiss thanks, I now have my booking in appointment sorted.

Han1213 · 19/09/2019 20:26

Hi, how are you feeling? Yes, came on today 😢 It’s really different to normal though! X

Ellsbells112 · 19/09/2019 20:43

@Wakemeupwithcoffee dont mind me, I'm trying to out wait the wait! Haha, it's been a bit crazy actually and I dont know what to think of it all!! I was cramping from Saturday gone to yesterday morning and i mean, I had to get the hot water bottle out. Along with splitting headaches and tiredness! I've also been super light headed and dizzy (really not me but also not a pregnancy symptom I've had prior?) Anyway, I've constantly had a dull ache on my right side where I ovulated from since ovulation! Today I had an ache in my lower right side of my back exactly where the dull ache is, it kind of feels like a stitch!? Its so weird and it can become more apparent with some movements but not painful.
Today was very sad and very irritable lol so I dont know exactly what's going on with my body, but I am hoping it leads to good news!
Also my breasts keep getting that "let down" feeling but mo actual soreness!

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 19/09/2019 21:02

Interesting, see what the next few days brings! I’ve had a bit of nausea but generally eating drinking and functioning normally which is fab! Long may it continue! @Han1213 ah shame. My last couple of periods were weird which I put down to the vitamins

Positivity2019 · 19/09/2019 22:20

@Wakemeupwithcoffee I’m feeling absolutely exhausted but not sure if that’s a good enough symptom. I was also super emosh today, cried at the most silly thing in the telly. Stabby pains gone and interestingly after ovulation my temp climbed steadily and then had a dip yesterday which coincided with the pains. Then this morning it was up a bit again. Too early to know if that was an implantation dip, I’ll have to wait and see if the temperature continues to climb over the next few days.
Hope you’re keeping fine and feeling good.
@Ellsbells112 sounds like a rollercoaster of things for you just now. Your TWW is just about up eh, AF due tomorrow? Hopefully these symptoms are a BFP for you.

Ellsbells112 · 19/09/2019 23:03

@positivity2019 yours sound promising too though! This evening I've started to feel even more as if I am!! But I have to wait to test, I'm due saturday so i think i will test then just in case the hormone isn't high enough yet itll bum me out! When are you due?

@Wakemeupwithcoffee yes that sounds fab! Pregnancy with bad symptoms is really hard to deal with! :) when is your first midwife appointment?? Exciting!

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 20/09/2019 07:33

It’s in 2.5 weeks. I also have a gp appointment that week too which is just in case I need the hyperemesis meds! I’m thinking of paying for a private scan at about 8 weeks to check everything going ok. I’ve not done this before but just thinking with my age and everything I’d like to check. Hubby is now stressed about money with third on the way and what that will mean for us financially so he thinks wait but if I really want to go ahead. Anyway will have a think.

@Wearenotyourkind how are you are you coming up to fertile period?

Wearenotyourkind · 20/09/2019 08:56

@Wakemeupwithcoffee yes! CD11 today so will start using OPKs from today. Glad you've Got a GP appt sorted. Keep us posted!
