Thought I’d poke my head in. I used to be a member of the site a few years ago, rejoined a few days ago as I had a BFP which a few days later ended up being a chemical.
Anyhow my stats are;
Sheshoots: age 44, 2 DC 6 and 3. My pregnancy history is as follows;
Ds1 - 37 with no problems
MC - 6 weeks
MC - 6 weeks
MMC - 12 weeks, D&C. Subsequently found the baby had Downs Syndrome
Ds2 - arrived at 40. No problems although decided to take progesterone and Clexane due to previous miscarriages
Termination at 17 weeks due to Edwards Syndrome which isn’t compatible with life. I was 42
Pregnant again at 44 after 2 years of trying but ended on Saturday around the time my period would normally have arrived. Chemical.
As you can read I haven’t had an easy journey. To be honest we’ve pretty much given up but of course the chemical this week has brought all my desires for another child flooding back. I should never have tested early 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
One thing I will mention that could be interesting is I decided I was going to go to a private HRT clinic in April and get tested with the aim of easing myself into the menopause, instead of crashing into it. After having a raft of tests we found my iron level was very low, as was my vitamin D. We were surprised that my fertility indicators were excellent. My FSH was very very good, no idea about AMH though as I didn’t ask for that to be tested. The doctor advised that he would prescribe a testosterone cream, a daily capsule of DHEA and I had an iron infusion. I’m also now taking a vit d capsule everyday. Well of course after two years of nothing this month we had a BFP and my cycle ended up going from 23 days to 28.
I have no idea if it was a fluke or whether the HRT as made a difference. I have certainly found on my TTC journey that when my cycles have been short I haven’t fallen pregnant, but when my cycles have lengthened I have.
