Good luck turquoiseturtle

littlemimosa · 12/05/2019 23:26

Congrat to Karryk and Turtle. Fingers crossed this is it for you both.

Welcome new people. So many over 40 ladies now. It’s so great.

Chat - hope you’re ok after what your DP said. Am sure men just say these things from bravado. My DP is the same but like yours he’s more than happy with the contraceptive free sex 😂

CD9 here and no hot flashes yet hurrah. This part of my cycle has been peak hot flash time recently so I’m v happy but I know they could still start up anytime. Wondering what the heck my body will do this cycle now. Who knows?! Just trying to stay calm and stress free and enjoy my babies (who are no longer babies at 6&8 but hey). Ps I’m now 43. Boo.

Cleozeta · 13/05/2019 09:26

Mimosa - great that you are hot flash free! Hopefully that means good things for this cycle. Do you still use opk's? My LH started rising early this cycle, around cd8.
Did you get your test results back?

turquoiseturtle · 13/05/2019 10:47

karryk, Cleozeta, littlemimosa - thank you for your kind good wishes!

karryk - I’m constantly forgetting things even when I’m not pregnant!

Thought I’d poke my head in. I used to be a member of the site a few years ago, rejoined a few days ago as I had a BFP which a few days later ended up being a chemical.

Anyhow my stats are;
Sheshoots: age 44, 2 DC 6 and 3. My pregnancy history is as follows;
Ds1 - 37 with no problems
MC - 6 weeks
MC - 6 weeks
MMC - 12 weeks, D&C. Subsequently found the baby had Downs Syndrome
Ds2 - arrived at 40. No problems although decided to take progesterone and Clexane due to previous miscarriages
Termination at 17 weeks due to Edwards Syndrome which isn’t compatible with life. I was 42
Pregnant again at 44 after 2 years of trying but ended on Saturday around the time my period would normally have arrived. Chemical.

As you can read I haven’t had an easy journey. To be honest we’ve pretty much given up but of course the chemical this week has brought all my desires for another child flooding back. I should never have tested early 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

One thing I will mention that could be interesting is I decided I was going to go to a private HRT clinic in April and get tested with the aim of easing myself into the menopause, instead of crashing into it. After having a raft of tests we found my iron level was very low, as was my vitamin D. We were surprised that my fertility indicators were excellent. My FSH was very very good, no idea about AMH though as I didn’t ask for that to be tested. The doctor advised that he would prescribe a testosterone cream, a daily capsule of DHEA and I had an iron infusion. I’m also now taking a vit d capsule everyday. Well of course after two years of nothing this month we had a BFP and my cycle ended up going from 23 days to 28.

I have no idea if it was a fluke or whether the HRT as made a difference. I have certainly found on my TTC journey that when my cycles have been short I haven’t fallen pregnant, but when my cycles have lengthened I have.

Hello ladies, gone quiet after my MMC just under 2 weeks ago and still bleeding. This MMC was different from let year. I had painful cramps and contractions for 2 days. It was hell. But I'm over the worse now and restarted with all supplements and reflexology. Had numerous discussions with my doctor about my next move. And she asked me to consider donor eggs. And I'm absolutely fine with it and so is my DH. However, it won't happen till after summer as I have my father visiting us next month and it's my DD's 2nd birthday, then we're away to visit my gran. A lot planned. In the meantime, I had an intensive session with a fertility coach yesterday, 5 hours! She's preparing me for a natural conception before I go for DE. We talked about everything fertility related, which supplements to start taking, reflexology, hypnotherapy, ovulation, DTD etc I'm giving a shot to her program and see what it takes us. And I always have a plan B. New supplements galore to take and wait till this bleeding stops and wait for my first AF since MMC and then get going with DTD. And see where it takes us.

Cleozeta · 14/05/2019 10:56

Sheshoots - sorry you have had such a hard time with this, sounds awful. But well done for keeping going, sounds like you are still very much in the game.

Russkispy - good to hear you sounding so positive after all you have been through, and plan B sounds great, it must be really good to know that you are both open to DE as the chances of success are so much higher and you don't even need to rush. Although you never know, you may not even need to! What suppliments have you been advised to take?

AFM - got a strong +opk yesterday, and today am confused my my CBFM, as last month I got a first peak in ages, so I saved it to compare. Today should have been peak day but came out as 'high' so I compared the stick to last months 'peak' and it was identical. So how has the monitor read it as high?? Anyone know much about CBFM?

Kimm123 · 14/05/2019 14:47

Hi what does DE stand for?

Russkispy · 14/05/2019 15:16

@Kimm123 DE - donor egg.
@Cleozeta , I've attached a list of supplements to take. Plus Ubiquinol by Doctor's Best, multivitamins by Veridian for men and women, I got them on Amazon. My DH been taking them forever now. Plus to make a juice of celery and apple to detox kidneys, to drink once a day. To continue with reflexology. Acupuncture once a month is fine, she said. If anyone is interested to speak to this lady: mamabe.co.uk
Her name is Katharine and she offers a free consultation for an hour. She represents herself and coaching services at Fertility shows in London and Manchester. And apparently she's got 71% success rate which she states on her site! She's got good prognosis for me but I'm cautious about it all but giving it a go and see what happens!

Russkispy · 15/05/2019 16:11

@Kimm123 I'm glad you enjoyed the call. She's a very nice lady and hopefully she will help us. I'm 43 now and have 1 DD conceived with IUI in 2016. Last year I had IUI in May which was positive but ended in MMC. Then I had failed IUIs in September, October and November. Then went for the first IVF in December, short protocol and failed it, no back up. And had second IVF in March, BFP but ended in MMC. Had a long discussion with my doctor and maybe DE is the way forward now. But then came across Katharine and yet too see what gives. And what's your story?

Russkispy · 15/05/2019 16:12

@Kimm123 we drove an hour and a half to reach her and back. She better be worth it haha

sheshootssheimplores · 15/05/2019 16:20

I am a real advocate of fertility acupuncture. I had it for about 18 months with an amazing lady in Bedfordshire. I can definitely recommend if anyone is close. She lengthened my cycles from 23 days to 28 inbetween DC. as I said previously, once they lengthened I conceived. So I very much believe she allowed me to conceive DS2 abd five that I’ll be forever grateful ❤️

sheshootssheimplores · 15/05/2019 16:21

*and for that

Kimm123 · 15/05/2019 16:30

Hi Russkipsy....shes in Buckinghamshire...when did you go and see her...yes she does sound good told me to stop all meds like clomid etc...im in two minds. She is going to get two ladies who worked with her to call me for recommendation

Russkispy · 15/05/2019 16:54

@Kimm123 and I'm based in Kent so it was a long trip. She squeezed me in last Sunday, at her home. She knows I've just suffered MMC and she wanted to start with me ASAP. And here I am, switched all my supplements and had a reflexology with her and hypnotherapy and continue for 8-10 weeks with it all. I still got bleeding/discharge and this is the longest yet. Fed up with it. Waiting for it to stop and again wait for a proper period. Currently in the Waiting Land

Kimm123 · 15/05/2019 18:18

@Russkipsy - Hi do you think its going to work? How much did she charge you if you dont ming me asking?? I forgot to ask her is it just one payment for everything?

mellongoose · 15/05/2019 18:58

It's great to hear you sounding positive @Russkispy. I've taken a photo of the celery and apple smoothie for the kidneys. Sorry if I'm being dumb, but how do the kidneys relate to fertility? Genuine question.

AFM I'm pretty sure everything is working physically but we are still feeling burnt from our loss. Due date next week. I think AF will be due around the same time. Then I will try to draw a line under it and start again.

You ladies have kept me feeling positive so thank you x

Russkispy · 15/05/2019 19:30

@Kimm123 , I have no idea how this will work but it all depends on us, I believe. She's got no magic pill for me as the magic pill is me! So with all supplements, reflexology, good diet which she said to move to alkaline diet, belief and faith, and DTD around ovulation and beyond, I'm willing to try as not really wasting time but boosting my system, for one more shot, as it were. I believe she's got a coup,e of different programmes and my was an intensive course for 5 hours, and she charged me a couple of hundred pounds. We haven't managed to cover it all, but covered the foundation - supplements and diet, relaxation, reflexology and hypnotherapy which I'm listening to every day. Waiting for my first period since MMC and see what she tells me next to do.
@mellongoose , every time I go to my Chinese acupuncture, she emphasises on kidneys and fertility, and works with needles for that area, of blood flow etc but here's a link explaining it:
redtent.com.au/kidneys-bladder-fertility-chinese-medicine-focus/
Hope it helps.

Russkispy · 15/05/2019 19:31

@mellongoose that smoothie is to consume once a day, she said.

mellongoose · 15/05/2019 21:01

Thanks for the link @Russkispy ! That's a really interesting article.

turquoiseturtle · 16/05/2019 11:03

@russkispy and @sheshootssheimplores, so sorry for all you have been through. You both sound so determined and resilient, you are an inspiration.

Is it ok for me to post about early pregnancy here, or would it be better to do it on the 'pregnant after miscarriage thread'? I am still in the very early days and freaking out a bit!
