@twinkledag.. i completely echoe Cleo on this. You have to have some little vices and a glass of wine a couple of times a week won't make any difference. I actually went out and drunk the best part of 2 bottles one night when I had no idea i was pregnant!! I was 40 and nearly 41 when DS was born. I didn't take supplements but just tried to keep a healthy bmi and exercised regularly. I don't do any now and am 5 years older and half a stone heavier and not a BFP in sight for years! Just relax, def de-stress as much as poss, exercise regularly and eat and drink sensibly and there's every chance.. baby dust wafting your way!

@EllieJaye.. welcome and sorry to hear of your mcs. I had two and swore I wouldn't bother again then DS arrived not long after the last one! Good luck and baby dust x

BooseysMom · 27/05/2019 19:00

look for rainbows in the rain.. i love this and guess what, I looked out the bedroom window just now and what did I see? .. a beautiful rainbow! What a coincidence 😊

twinkledag · 27/05/2019 19:01

Thanks for the replies everyone. My diet is like everyone else's - normal with the odd treat thrown in! Could do with losing a stone I guess. Exercise terrible/non existent 😳. Ok vaping stops from NOW.

twinkledag · 27/05/2019 19:05

Welcome @EllieJaye, sorry to hear your journey has been tough and good luck 💐

@Chatbash72 - those announcements are tough aren't they? I was at a kids party today and felt sad when I saw my son's friends with younger siblings 😢. Although I also heard today a fellow 'over 40' friend who had ivf for a sibling for her little boy miscarried at 14 weeks and thats ahard to hear too. So sad ☹️

EllieJaye · 27/05/2019 20:26

Thanks everyone. Spent most of today squinting at photos of non existent lines where there's only white, then zooming in to the white, inverting the white, examining it from every angle..... all the time knowing deep down there's nothing there.....I'd feel a total loon telling anyone else this!

EllieJaye · 27/05/2019 20:37

Thank you, its good to vent. And its so hard to see some journeys are so straightforward, its natural for it to feel unfair. It hurts! Sending hugs xx

EllieJaye · 27/05/2019 20:38

Sorry @chatbash72 that was supposed to be a reply to you. Im not so IT literate Grin

Cleozeta · 27/05/2019 20:41

EllieJaye - I did exactly the same thing about half an hour ago 🤣
It couldn't have been any whiter. It was so white it was almost inverted, but yet I still stared at it under a lamp from every angle (and I actually did the test this morning!!)
Sometimes I think I may have actually lost the plot altogether.

littlemimosa · 27/05/2019 23:32

Cleo and Ellie, we’ve all been there. You’re not on your own 😂

Chatbash72 · 28/05/2019 00:03

PERIMENOPAUSE MEANS NO MORE BABIES
Definitely not true! Many a 50+ woman gets surprised by a perimenopause baby.
Until you have gone for a year if over 50 and 2 years under 50, you need contraception. HRT isn’t a contraceptive and women can, and do, get pregnant whilst taking it.
So if you are not quite ready for a baby don’t take a chance, it only takes one good egg!
Copied from an article from the D M, a menopausal expert, female and the rest of the article was quite good...
paying it forward on channeling some positive vibes.. thank you ladies.. felt a bit deflated today, which you know isn't my normal stance.. sending love and baby dust 💕🥰

Chatbash72 · 28/05/2019 00:05

Sorry DON'T be alarmed by the article title!!!! PLEASE it's taken from an article about well known LIES about menopause

Cleozeta · 28/05/2019 08:11

Thank you chat. I have been feeling very down trodden lately about the whole thing, and rappidly losing hope. I have 2 friends now expecting, and I'm starting to feel time is wrapping up on me as I watch them move forward.
Thankyou for the positivity, I think we all need to heae it!

rosegardenista · 28/05/2019 18:20

Hi ladies - I've namechanged but I was in the threads late last year until took a break from TTC for various reasons. Now slowly getting back in game. I had 2 MCs last year (7 and 11 weeks) and since I had MC last May, I've been taking obviously normal prenatal vitamins, but also ubiquinol (300mg), vit C (1000mg) and vit D spray (1000), so hoping that they've helped my eggs (at my age!) and all that Grin During the "break" I've definitely enjoyed too much wine and cheese so goal is to lose some weight. I worry my periods are quite short (26-27 days) and light (compared to what I had in my twenties before I went on a pill and didn't have any for a decade) but GP is saying it's all good if they are regular Hmm

To add - I'm 40, TTC #1 (2 MCs in 2018)

I'll need to catch up on the thread but good luck all Flowers

littlemimosa · 28/05/2019 23:00

Thanks Chat for the positivity! Needed that.

Welcome back Rose. Sorry to hear you suffered two losses. Hopefully all those lovely vitamins will be helping things.

Cleo - question for you: whey do I stop the progesterone cream? I’m CD26 today but I THINK I ovulated approx CD15/16. So I’d usually be expecting a 30 day cycle (at least) and I’ve only been using the cream for 10 days. Help!

Chatbash72 · 28/05/2019 23:27

Have just stumbled upon Giovanna fetchers podcasts... this weeks is Arlene Philips... haven't been brave enough to listen as fear it's quite emotional but she had her baby at 47!!! Chucking more hope out there... and baby dust.. and on Thursday is get to spend the day with a dear friend who we would so at home here. Her little boy would have been 3 tomorrow and like me she is on the quest.. my age too so we will overdose of conception talk.. perfection 💕

Karigan195 · 29/05/2019 08:14

Just popping in to say congratulations to Critter and to wish baby dust to everyone else.

Cleozeta · 29/05/2019 08:31

Mimosa - it's hard to say until you know how it effects you. I think the cream would not be strong enough to stop a period so you could probably just use it until AF shows, or until the day it's due. The pesseries are stronger and I have found in general my period starts 3 days after I stop using them, so now I stop around 11 or 12 dpo to get a normal LP.
For this cycle I would use your cream until AF due and see how it effects it

sheshootssheimplores · 29/05/2019 08:35

So I’m on my second cycle using my HRT progesterone cream and DHEA capsules and it looks like I’ve ovulated around day 14 instead of day 11 which has been standard since my termination for medical reasons two years ago.

I fell pregnant last month for the first time in two years, it was a chemical sadly, but it’s very very interesting that directly my cycle lengthens again I fall pregnant. I’m on 4 dpi today so it will be interesting to see what happens this cycle.

MrMeeseekscando · 29/05/2019 09:50

I wandered off again. I do that Grin
I had a positive OPK followed by my first unprotected lot of DTD since I was a stupid teen.
It's exciting, but so nerve wracking!
How do you avoid wondering if every little twinge is it? Or every little nauseous feeling?
I still have a week and a half until AF and this is my very first shot at it. How the hell do you chill the fuck out?!
Anyway, I hope everyone is great and the dust is being chucked about liberally! Wink

Honestly I find it impossible not to over analyse every little thing. Even though having done this several times before I know I dont have any tell tale signs I'm pregnant! Symptoms are same as pending AF and vary month to month. Its so frustrating. I annoy myself!!

PetraRabbit · 29/05/2019 11:42

@SparrowSG I loved that article...thanks for sharing it.
My update is that my Harmony test came back low risk and everything seems to be going well. We are having the gender we would have chosen which is a lovely feeling, though of course we would habe been thrilled with either. I'm getting very close to 44 now....hopefully that provides some hope to others trying. Wishing you all luck with your journeys.

sheshootssheimplores · 29/05/2019 11:46

Wonderful news Petra 😍

MrMeeseekscando · 29/05/2019 11:49

Ooh fabulous Petra!! Grin

PetraRabbit · 29/05/2019 11:56

Thank you! Pregnancy over 40 after a MMC is horribly stressful but I feel I can relax a lot more now. It was a real joy and a relief.
