@fnej01 I actually agree about having a break. We obviously cant ttc for the next two months and I'm glad to be off of the bloody carousel of it for a bit. I feel like I've been pregnant and miscarrying for most of the last 6 months. I'm hoping it might give my body a chance to recover too, think sometimes we dont appreciate the trauma it has physically because we're so used to just getting on with it. Do you mind me asking how long your referral to the rmc clinic took? Xx

fnej01 · 03/04/2019 17:58

@ale2992 sorry for the bfn. Any chance you are just too early testing?

@Lsmummy1 GP referred me on 2nd November and first appointment was 15th Jan, I had a repeat set of bloods after 6 weeks which was 27th Feb and results yesterday. So it is a relatively long pathway. I am definitely much saner now than when first referred and able to deal with what lies ahead, even though the wait has been hard. I have been having acupuncture in the break, just to feel like I've been doing something x

ale2992 · 03/04/2019 18:02

@fnej01 I suppose I could be but I have cramps and back ache now so think af may be on the way

TinyPaws · 03/04/2019 18:50

@moonpeace I fell asleep! So I guess it must have been relaxing I suppose. I've booked another session in 2 weeks time.

Lsmummy1 · 03/04/2019 19:08

@fnej01 Sounds like a long process but must feel good to know you are on the journey with it all. I'm also thinking about accupuncture, mainly to do some decent self care and help with my anxiety, would you recommend it?
@ale2992 sorry to hear about the bfn. I have an absolute love/hate relationship with pregnancy tests.
X

Hi ladies, thanks for asking after me @Laney79, @InDreamland, @Mistymeow and @fnej01

Sorry to see so many newcomers on this thread but you have found some lovely supportive ladies. I was here for 15 threads although have stepped back the last few months as I underwent IVF.

So I had my 9 week scan today and have some exciting news. Turns out that there are two little Bobo's on the way! 👶👶

fnej01 · 03/04/2019 21:26

Omg @Boboelephant that's amazing news! Are you surprised or did you have an inkling? Did you have multiple eggs back? Or are they identical? X

Boboelephant · 03/04/2019 21:36

@fnej01 thank you! We were pretty surprised. We ended up having two put back after they told me throughout they'd only transfer one as I was under 39. Yet on transfer day I had one blastocyst and then one that was at the stage before. It wasn't advanced enough to grade and therefore couldn't be frozen. They gave it a 2-3% chance of survival and said we could transfer it or they'd destroy it. Turns out it was stronger than they thought!

fnej01 · 03/04/2019 21:48

@Boboelephant well that's amazing news clearly they are a fighter. So very pleased for you, I know what a long journey you had had. Please keep us updated how you get on.

@knitkitty are you still following the thread? How did you get on with RMC?

strawberrye · 03/04/2019 22:02

@Boboelephant brilliant news and so happy you are getting two little bobo babies after your journey!

Mistymeow · 04/04/2019 06:53

@catconfusion I hope the hormones settle soon. I think mine are calming down but we shall see. I’m feeling ok but find it hard to be around lots of people, still need time alone.
@fnej01 yes I’m sure it will take a while to get your head round it. I hope it means they can now treat you and you will go on to have a successful pregnancy. Yes sadly another mmc at 9 weeks and we were 3 days away from ivf, it was a huge blow after a healthy heartbeaf. We are having great care and fertility think it’s best we see Dr Shehata (same hospital) before we imbark on ivf just in case. I feel very supported but sad that it’s taking longer.
@ale2992 oh bugger, sorry. Hope it’s still just too early and you get some good news.
@boboelephant wow, two little bobos that’s a surprise and really wonderful news! I’m so pleased for you! Please keep popping back and letting us know how you are.

I’m off to Turkey on a work trip so won’t be on as much but hope everyone is ok and I’ll chat to you all soon x

ale2992 · 04/04/2019 07:00

Still no af, woke up nauseous

ale2992 · 04/04/2019 07:13

What do you guys think? Yesterday I was sires it's bfn but since taking a photo I don't know if maybe I see a faint faint line

TTC after pregnancy loss - Thread 29 - huddle up and bring on the BFP's!
KnitKitty · 04/04/2019 08:22

Hi @fnej01. I'm not here often, but I am popping in on the odd occasion. Thanks for asking after me. How are you?
I had my RMC follow up on Wednesday last week. All my results came back normal and within good ranges except my third prolactin test; again. The gynae I saw wasn't the same as the first one I'd seen in December though and said there's no risk with recurrent miscarriage and high prolactin levels; he wasn't sure why I'd been given the test in the first place and didn't seem bothered about it at all. It was very confusing because the endocrinologist told me it could affect implantation and not to TTC until the results of the 3rd test because if they were borderline or high again she'd give me medication to bring it down; and obviously the first gynae I saw ordered the test for a reason? I've contacted my GP about all of this and have a telephone appointment with him on Tuesday to discuss my concerns. I'd like to have my prolactin medicated just in case to be honest. Surely it's better to try it than not to?
Anyway, the gynae gave me a prescription for progesterone pessaries to take with my next pregnancy. He said studies hadn't concluded that it helps; but it's worth a try...
I feel positive about the progesterone and hopefully getting prolactin medication. But I'm also a bit frustrated at the conflicting advice and not having heard from endocrinology about my results.
I've been making a few changes to my diet and lifestyle recently to get ready to TTC again in a month or two. And I've just started reading "It starts with the egg"; which I know is recommended by people on MN all the time but I've no idea why I haven't read it before now. Only a couple of chapters in and finding it really fascinating and potentially really useful. It's definitely worth a read if you've had RM and get told it's for unexplained reasons; at least you'll be able to try something from the suggestions in the book. But it's worth a read for anyone TTC in any way by the look of it.

I'm so happy for you @Boboelephant! Grin

@Russkispy How are things going? Congratulations on the BFP!

@InDreamland I'm glad you've finally got some kind of answer. Good luck with moving forward with it. xxx

Sorry not to mention everyone but thinking of you all and hoping you all get your rainbows soon.
Hi to the newbies too!

Russkispy · 04/04/2019 08:51

@Boboelephant absolutely fantastic news! So happy for you! 2 mini bobos!
Thank you for asking after me @Mistymeow @KnitKitty
booked a reassurance scan in a couple of weeks. Midwife and dating scan are through the post too. I won't be joining any antenatal or pregnancy threads and just stick with you guys as rooting for you all and still early days for me. Will keep you posted on my scans etc if you want but otherwise won't bore you with how I'm feeling on a daily basis. Suffice to say this pregnancy already feels different from my first. Anxiously waiting for my early scan after MMC and CP last and this year respectively. Scan falls a day before my 43rd birthday. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 it goes well!

DaisyMay25 · 04/04/2019 09:18

@Boboelephant huge congratulations!!! I'm currently doing ivf too.

Lsmummy1 · 04/04/2019 10:01

@ale2992 I can see a very faint line. When was your period due?

Lsmummy1 · 04/04/2019 10:03

@ale2992 I've never had a strong positive with a blue test. Even when I had my daughter which obviously was a healthy pregnancy and not a chemical, it was still rather faint on a blue cross test. Can you do a first response? X

Bluebelltulip · 04/04/2019 11:39

Good luck @boboelephant and @Rispykispy.

We had our follow up appointment this morning to discuss what happened with our daughter and the plan for any future pregnancies. The blood tests and placenta analysis didn't show up anything additional. The heart condition (SVT- very high heart rate) was the cause of her death and there isn't any higher chance of it happening again. Care review also showed it was treated correctly. We have been told another pregnancy has the same risk as if this hadn't happened. Care in another pregnancy will be centred around supporting us and reassurance. Told the doctor we have started trying and he just checked that I was on folic acid and hopes to see us again soon.

Feels good that it shouldn't happen again but was also sad going back to the hospital I spent so much time in will trying to treat her.

AliceRR · 04/04/2019 12:27

@Bluebelltulip I’m pleased you’ve had the result and they’re positive in the sense that there is nothing to suggest specific risk to any future pregnancies. You must have mixed feelings about the results and I can imagine it was hard going back the hospital.

Will the same consultant follow you through your future pregnancy?

I saw my GP today for my 6 weeks appointment and she said the same about TTC. She said it might be a good idea to wait til the PM results but otherwise whenever I feel ready and suggested taking folic acid and vitamin D.

Hope everyone else is ok

I realised this morning I am pre-menstrual (it doesn’t seem long since I had a period so thought it was too early for that!) so that’s why I feel particularly sh*t the last day or so

ale2992 · 04/04/2019 12:48

@Lsmummy1 due today and no sign I've usually had spotting by now. Bought a Fred this afternoon might do one when I get home x

Bluebelltulip · 04/04/2019 12:53

@AliceRR yes I can have the same consultant but I met all of the fetal medicine team with DD anyway so not particularly bothered if I end up seeing a mixture. Glad your six week check went well, I didn't get round to booking mine.

Good luck with your test @ale2992

Lsmummy1 · 04/04/2019 17:10

@ale2992 keeping my fingers crossed for you!
Congratulations to the other two ladies who are pregnant, fx for a happy and healthy 9 months to you both xx

ale2992 · 04/04/2019 17:44

Another BFN. Think it's just time to wait for af to turn up now...

fnej01 · 04/04/2019 21:51

@knitkitty - Thanks for the reply. I am completely with you on the getting a further opinion on the prolactin. It sounds like they are being really inconsistent. It's good that with the exception of the prolactin all of the tests were clear. Hopefully you can get some prolactin meds to help manage it. Interestingly I don't think I have been tested for prolactin despite many blood tests.
Thanks for asking - I am good, my RMC tests came back as positive for APS or sticky blood so they have prescribed aspirin, heparin and cyclogest. As I mentioned to @Lsmummy1 - I also went to the Coventry clinic for a biopsy to test for NK cells. I've got my results back today and they are high - 16.52% so I am booked back for a second biopsy and appointment with the doctor next Friday. I don't know treatment plan yet, but I suspect from what I have read I will be adding Prednislone to my list of drugs. Am finding the many diagnoses difficult to cope with. Good luck @knitkitty with the GP, and fingers crossed when you start trying again it all comes together - keep us updated how you are get on.

@ale2992 - sorry that it's another BFN. Hope that you are keeping your chin up and looking after you.
