Decided to set up a thread for ladies due to ovulate some time around the 22nd March. If you're due to OV around this time, come on in!

I find these easier to follow than the big month-long threads.

Thought we could all test at similar times, discuss our crazy symptom spotting, and all the other "fun" around TTC.

You're doubly welcome if you're a POaS addict like me Grin

About me:
33
This will be cycle 5 after TFMR last year.

TTC our first

I've tried conceive plus, preseed, all manner of ovulation kits, etc.

This month I'm going to focus on losing half a stone. I've put a lot of weight on since my TFMR. I think i could be disadvantaging myself. I'm also going to cut down on caffeine throughout the who cycle.

I've also bought the Harvard medical school Fertility Diet book, all backed up with science so I'll let you all know how I get on with it.

Here's a summary if anybody interested: www.urmc.rochester.edu/medialibraries/urmcmedia/fertility-center/education/documents/fertility-diet.pdf

I don't check but I feel mines only changes and I'm aware of it on ovulation day. Accompanied with pains.

They reason I don't check is I can't tell any difference between cm and my partners sperm after we have dtd (tmi sorry but didn't know How to word it delicately)

20TinkerBell20 · 19/03/2019 09:45

Yeah I don’t know why I checked to be honest becasue I don’t know what I’m looking for. I’m probably just hoping one time I check and I get the very obvious EWCM and can dtd quickly haha.

deathbycats · 19/03/2019 10:06

Michelle Leftover sperm wouldn't be stretchy like EWCM. I don't think there's such a thing as TMI in the conception boards Grin

Retrieversandredwine · 19/03/2019 10:16

Can I join in?

I think I'm 3DPO - just based on what I think was Ov pain and EWCM.

I had a miscarriage in January which has taken a long time to complete, we weren't really trying this month but did DTD quite a bit in the run up to what I think was ovulation so, you never know.

I'm 29, have an 18month old and been TTC no2 since November.

Michellebops · 19/03/2019 11:23

@deathbycats thank you.

Think I'm just rubbish at this whole know your own body stuff.

Robbo93 · 19/03/2019 12:50

I'm the same. I've been clear and oily up to this point. Sometimes has the tiniest bit of milky residue in it. I have no clue what it should be like and deffo don't know what I'm feeling in terms of cervix height etc!

Michellebops · 19/03/2019 13:42

Think it was much easier when you didn't have so much information available.

With my first I came off the pill in the November and was pregnant by new year. No symptoms apart from missed period.

Try for number 2 is a whole different ball game with permanent aches and pains and constant symptom spotting even now on cd10 🙄

crazychemist · 19/03/2019 18:12

Oh @Robbo93 and @Michellebops you’ve made me smile :-) she’ll be leaving tomorrow, but I think it’ll put a halt on anything. She sleeps with her door wide open and stays up a lot of the night reading because she naps during the day. We have a 2yo DD who is awake during the day. So I think that’s done it for this month! Oh well, roll on April.....

Clear and slippery is fertile mucus, right? So could you “clear and oily” be that? It sounds about right to me, which would mean you are gearing up for ovulation. I think it goes milky and starts getting stickier a day or two after ovulation (basically when you’re past your fertile window).

I didn’t pay that much attention when we conceived DD1. Although we did want her, there didn’t seem to be too much difference if it was one month or the next. Now it bothers me much more because I’m aware of the ever widening age gap they’ll have, I didn’t really want it to be more than 3.5 years, which is what we’re looking at if we don’t get a bp in the next 2 months.

Oh well, have comforted myself with McDonalds on the way home from work. Not entirely in line with the ttc diet!

Michellebops · 19/03/2019 19:19

@crazychemist I don't envy you, at least she's not there for long.

I'm jealous of the McDonald's. I've lost 18lbs since new year in a bid to help. I had a mmc in October and didn't lose any of the gained weight at the time.

I have a 3.5 year old and if successful it's going to be a 4 year gap. I'm 42 in 2 weeks as well so I'm trying to be positive but harsh reality is that it may not happen for us ❤️

Robbo93 · 19/03/2019 19:33

I'm confused now cos I've gone back to having practically nothing CM wise :/

I'm jealous of the McDonald's too.

WrexhamBuxom · 19/03/2019 22:11

Oh for crying out loud. I am struggling. So yesterday, I mistakenly chugged a ton of water, possibly diluting my urine for the OPK. No problem, today is a new day right?

So I wasn't going to be at home so I grabbed a (wrapped) test out of the box and took it with me. Open it up, and it's a pregnancy test! Wtf. So, I can't just go grab a new one. I decide to go through my emergency duffle in the car, just in case, and I found one old unopened OPK package. Now, it's been out in my car for weeks, but it's sealed and I'm desperate, so I go for it.

Not sure if it worked or not. The two lines did show up, but the entire stick bled and it was purple. I used my Glow Analyzer, and it had trouble focusing and catching a picture, but when it finally did, it put it at a 7/10, which I think is fair. My temperature this morning was normal.

I did have a pretty significant glob of EWCM in my underwear. I usually don't get a ton of CM, so it was a surprise for sure.

It's interesting to be on this side of it. Normally, the way the timing goes, we do a ton of BD-ing, and then I am like "Hurry, hurry, hurry." So, to be the side of it to be like, "wait, wait, wait" is a new perspective.

deathbycats · 20/03/2019 08:13

That’s so frustrating WrechamBuxom fingers crossed you have a better day today ☺️

Cd15 today and finally got a positive OPK - no second guessing it either. Going to keep an eye out for more EWCM today. Had loads on Monday and just back to being wet/slippery yesterday. So Glow now has me down as ovulating tomorrow and AF due on the 4th.

TTC & due to OV around the 22nd March? Come on in!
WildFlower2019 · 20/03/2019 09:48

Hello, just checking in again. Sorry for my absence! My mum is staying with me while her house sale goes through, so I've not been checking MN as much as usual.

I'm still only high (flashy face) on the OPK but I expect it to go peak tomorrow. I'll have to sneak in some BDing later!!!

Had lots of weird spotting again this month. I've already had an ultrasound and a TV scan and getting the results at a doctors appt Monday but the sonographer (?or technician or doctor?the person who did it) said it all looked good to him.

I never used to spot at ovulation but since my TFMR I have. First, it was a drop of red/pink blood on one day. Now it's several days of dark/black spotting. Weird. I think it's hormone related so I'll ask about that on Monday.

Anyway good luck everyone and happy BDing!!!!!! We'll soon be into the 2ww!

Good luck squeezing the BD in!!
"I'm just popping off for a shower mum!"

And good luck at the doc on Monday!

I'm on CD16 now and no sign of a positive opk at all. Maybe I'm doing them wrong!
Still BD every second day although we did it yesterday and today so I hope that doesn't mess things up.

I'm also getting that anxious panicky feeling that what if I get a positive opk (I test in the afternoon) and then my DH doesn't or can't come home til late that night (he's a farming lambing at the moment so crazy hours!). Need to stop worrying I know! But I know someone here will understand!

Sunshine41 · 20/03/2019 10:14

Hi, can I join!
I’m totally new to these threads etc was just googling like a lunatic trying to find tips on TTC.
I’m 41 so feel like I’m running out of time. Been trying for about 18 months. I have a regular cycle and had blood tests that have shown I do ovulate. Doctor has signed me off work as I’m super stressed which she feels will be part of the issue. But I even stress about that 😩🙄.
Any tips would be great, I’ve cut down caffeine, I don’t drink.

Jeds55 · 20/03/2019 10:47

Hello All, been so busy that haven't checked in for a while, sounds like some of you have been busy though Wink hopefully making some December babies
CD 9 here and still blank face on ckearblue and no EWCM (had none last month either). Have what I think is a UTI, got docs later this evening, over the counter stuff just not getting rid of it. The thought of partner going near there pretty horrific atm so body probably not ovulating to protect itself! Grin
Really busy organising Dd 1st birthday but hoping if I feel better and get a positive we can at least dtd once

Jeds55 · 20/03/2019 10:55

Hello Sunshine just the usual tips of no smoking, be a healthy weight, eat well, all the obvious am afraid. Its positive that your blood tests showed ovulation. I found TTC one constant dragging wait, wait for ovulation, wait for period, have period, rinse and repeat and worried that I was wishing my life away, not sure how to get out of that cycle! If you find out, please let me know! Has your partner had semen analysis? If not I would get that booked in.
People will tell you not to stress but I found that made me do the opposite! I find running a good way to de-stress and order my thoughts so not sure if you're into anything like that. All the best

Sunshine41 · 20/03/2019 11:33

Jeds55
Hi, thank you! Yeah I don’t smoke, not really overweight but could maybe do with losing a stone. Partner had been tested and he’s fine. Been referred to gynaecologist but could be a 6 month wait time I don’t think I’ve got. Trying to de-stress. I have a mentally stressful job so time away from that hopefully will help although feel guilty. I’ve never logged temp before, but have tried Opk but became a bit obsessed 😩 x

Robbo93 · 20/03/2019 13:03

I'm on CD19, had lots of CM on Monday (CD17) but not really anything since and have had very faint lines on the OPK on day 18 + 19 whereas they were non existent before. Anyone know what this could mean?

Retrieversandredwine · 20/03/2019 13:24

@Kinsella82 I'm also married to a farmer so I get you! We're spring drilling this week and I've barely seen him.

Ekie · 20/03/2019 14:49

Hi

CD 11 here and waiting for the ovulation. Joined new gym so new focus to take my mind off TTC. Eating loads of vegs and nuts. Also started morning smoothies with maca powder. Also dtd every other day.

TWW time is the worst. Need to find hobby to get my mind off.

Kinsella82 · 20/03/2019 17:11

@Retrieversandredwine it's hard to pin them down isn't it?! What makes it worse is our farm is ten miles from our home so he doesn't just pop home for a quick visit or anything. Anyway I'll try just keep doing what we are doing and keep everything crossed.

Kinsella82 · 20/03/2019 17:22

I think opks are never going to work for me. I've just read you should hold your urine for 2-4 hours and avoid taking drinks during that time.... I've been testing around 3pm each day but I am always drinking water and also tea at lunch time (1.30) and I would use the bathroom every 1-2 hours because of all the water!!

Would fmu work?

Michellebops · 20/03/2019 17:52

@Kinsella82 snap.

I don't do fmu as I'm up 2/3 times every night. I've been doing at 5pm when I get home from work. And trying not to drink too much in between afternoon break and home time.

Kinsella82 · 20/03/2019 18:11

@Michellebops do you normally have regular cycles or are you trying to pinpoint ovulation because of longer cycles? Mine are all over the place! I think I'm gonna try fmu but like you I also go to the toilet a few times a night too (damn all that water!). I think I would feel dehydrated if I didn't drink water or anything for long periods of time though
