Decided to set up a thread for ladies due to ovulate some time around the 22nd March. If you're due to OV around this time, come on in!

I find these easier to follow than the big month-long threads.

Thought we could all test at similar times, discuss our crazy symptom spotting, and all the other "fun" around TTC.

You're doubly welcome if you're a POaS addict like me Grin

About me:
33
This will be cycle 5 after TFMR last year.

TTC our first

I've tried conceive plus, preseed, all manner of ovulation kits, etc.

This month I'm going to focus on losing half a stone. I've put a lot of weight on since my TFMR. I think i could be disadvantaging myself. I'm also going to cut down on caffeine throughout the who cycle.

I've also bought the Harvard medical school Fertility Diet book, all backed up with science so I'll let you all know how I get on with it.

Here's a summary if anybody interested: www.urmc.rochester.edu/medialibraries/urmcmedia/fertility-center/education/documents/fertility-diet.pdf

@Jeds55 I've never had spotting before af or pregnancy but it surprises me how many symptoms are similar and have you convinced this might be your month then bam it's cd1 😢

deathbycats · 12/03/2019 15:13

Anyone else impatiently waiting for their fertile week?? Only on CD7 and keenly checking for any changes to my CP and CM for indications that it's on its way.

Coastaldreamer · 12/03/2019 15:36

@deathbycats lol i hear you! I think I have opened my Flo app countless times even whilst on AF waiting for the new fertile time.

Are you OPK-ing? I'm going to just dtd every other day a few days after AF is done and go from there

Fingers crossed x

Robbo93 · 12/03/2019 19:07

Hey can I join in?
Think I may be a couple of days beforehand but only came off the pill in January so not 100% accurate what are cycle lengths are - going by my most recent, it is 26 days long.

I’m currently on CD11, if I do have a 26 day cycle then I’m apparently due to ovulate sometime this weekend. I’ve been taking OPK since I finished AF (just in case!) and not even the faintest sign of a 2nd line yet.

I’m 25, Hubby is 29. TTC#1
I’ve recently come off mini pill cerazette & suffer with high blood pressure so I’m not sure if these will affect my jouney.

Sending baby dust to you all!

deathbycats · 12/03/2019 19:57

I am OPKing, I did one today just for something to do even though I knew it would be negative. I think I'm just going to do the same thing. If we're not tired, DTD. According to Ovia, I'm in my fertile week in 6 days. Glow has it in 5 days. I think I'll properly OPK from the weekend, keep DTD regularly and hope for the best. If anything, I'm mainly OPKing so I know when to expect AF or test.

deathbycats · 12/03/2019 19:58

And welcome Robbo! Have you been checking for cervical position/mucus? I find them helpful for knowing where I stand.

Robbo93 · 12/03/2019 20:09

Hi @deathbycats,

Not really, I'm slightly confused by it. Not sure if I'm doing it right. Looked on google etc and I can't seem to tell the stages... I'm an amateur I know!! Hmm

Do you check by finger insertion or can you tell just by tissue wipe? Don't know what I'm feeling for tbh :(

deathbycats · 12/03/2019 20:27

I think some people do it by finger insertion, others by wipe. I find it easier by finger insertion. It takes a few times to figure out what you're feeling for. You should be dry or have sticky cm early in your cycle, getting wetter/slippier up to ovulation, with clear slippery/stringy cm when you're most fertile, then it should get less slippy again.

Robbo93 · 12/03/2019 20:39

@deathbycats I still can't tell at the moment but I'll keep checking to see if I can see a noticeable difference. Pretty sure I didn't ovulate last month as I started opk's pretty early and they were all negative but yet I still bled? Whether it's my hormones playing havoc I'm not sure Confused

Kinsella82 · 12/03/2019 21:08

Hi everyone and @WildFlower2019 we meet again ❤️

This thread caught my eye because my app is predicting O for me on the 22nd. I'll take that with a pinch of salt for now as I've just had a 37 day cycle and a 27 day cycle before that (came off the pill at Xmas) so I don't think my body knows what it's doing yet let alone the app!!

So my plan for this month is SMEP. Today is CD8 and started off the plan with dtd this morning! Will start opk on cd10 and go from there. I just have really skinny flimsy looking IC so I'm really hoping they work.

I'm 36, TTC baby no. 3 and this is my 3rd cycle this time.

20TinkerBell20 · 13/03/2019 21:52

Hi
We’re ttc number 2. Currently on last day (brown spotting) or AF and due to ovulate around 22-25th March. It’s strange how the dates can differ so much depending on what tracking page/app you look at.
I’m currently on CD6 and getting impatient. Wink

RachJ90 · 13/03/2019 22:15

Hi

Could I join in. TTC #1 cycle 6. AF just finishing. Due to ovulate around day 14 of a 26/27 day cycle so AF due around the 5th of April.

Finger crossed for Christmas babies!! 😊

WrexhamBuxom · 13/03/2019 23:53

@deathbycats

I am a bit impatient as well. A part of me is hoping to delay delay delay as much as possible, with being unable to see my guy till 3/22.

But, another part of me wants it to get here so I can make sure that I am, in fact, ovulating.

frexi · 14/03/2019 00:15

Hiiii!!! I'd like to join in! I'm also due to ovulate around 22nd/23rd March.

This is my third cycle of ttc for #1. I am just about to use the clear blue advanced fertility monitor so hopefully that helps as I don't temp or anything like that.

I am overweight but since ttc I have started to focus on eating fertility healthy foods and have cut alcohol and caffeine.

It's going to be hard to ttc this month as hubby is away with work mid week but I'll make the most of the weekends Grin

RachJ90 · 14/03/2019 07:36

@frexi I’ve been using the clear blue ovulation packs. I think this month we’re just going to DHD over the days as DH thinks I need to relax about it so told me not to buy them! It’s very difficult to relax about it though. 🙈

frexi · 14/03/2019 08:23

@RachJ90 this is my first month of using it. I'm not convinced I ovulate as my OPKs have never been as dark as the control line (I used Cheapies though and not sure if reading and testing right) so hoping this will take the guess work out and give me a bit of data and ammunition for my doctors appointment at the very least.

But, I think you're totally right and could do without the stress of it so going to try it this month and then I won't buy any refills. Grin

crazychemist · 14/03/2019 09:01

Gah, my cycle is all over the place! Last cycle was long, this one looks likely to be short (EWCM yesterday, DH not in the mood Hmm)

20TinkerBell20 · 14/03/2019 11:53

I’m not doing temps or anything like that. Not very good at the whole CM checking etc becasue often I end up with two different types in the same day then I get all confused what my body is doing Hmm what do you all do in terms of DTD? Do you just see what happens, aim for every other day? Start at a specific CD up until OV?

Michellebops · 14/03/2019 12:14

I've been looking at the smep process from day 8 dtd every 2 days

WildFlower2019 · 14/03/2019 12:34

I feel a bit like I've abandoned my own thread! Just having a few stressful days and a few down days too. I am going to sit with a cuppa and properly catch up x x

OP posts:
Michellebops · 14/03/2019 12:36

Aww @WildFlower2019 hope you're ok?

I've had a wobble the past few days myself so understand xx

WildFlower2019 · 14/03/2019 12:55

@Jese89 I was so concerned with my weird spotting before and after my period, that I went and saw the doctor two weeks ago. I literally had an ultrasound yesterday that shows I'm clear of cysts, polyps etc. Going back in two weeks to discuss further though. My doc mentioned my recent weight gain might be affecting my hormones. I also wondered if it was anything to do with TTC, for example a failed fertilisation or implantation. Might not show up on a hpt but it might affect hormones for a few days? No idea.

@Michellebops Welcome & good luck x

@WrexhamBuxom have you tried the clearblue digital ovulation tests? Or are you just temping alone? Also, I apologise if I wrote this in my opening post, it's been so long I can't remember! But I'm reading The Fertility Diet by Harvard Medical School and I realllllllllly recommend it. Boy oh boy... diet has SO much influence on the TTC process! I didn't realise. I am a size 16-18 at about 5ft 6 and my bmi is overweight. So I've been trying to I cut down on takeaways, cut down on cakes and pastries and swap to brown bread and brown pasta. Also cutting down on caffeine & eating more fish & nuts! Apparently if you have an overweight or obese bmi and just lose 5-10% of your weight, it can massively kickstart things! That'll be my next thing to try.

@deathbycats Yes! Me! I'm impatiently waiting. My mum is going to be staying all throughout the FW though. No idea how I'm going to BD with her in the house 😱 I told DH we have to take the month off but he insists otherwise!!!

@Robbo93 welcome! I also struggled with cervical mucus the first few months but then i started to slowly understand the differences! Hopefully you won't even have to wait that long!! Xx

@Kinsella82 hello again, good luck with your SMEPing!! xxx

Welcome @RachJ90 @20TinkerBell20 @frexi

@Michellebops I'm good now thank you. It's because I've seen a few things on tv related to baby loss this week and my original due date was last week, plus a few stresses with my mum's house move and some work situations... and obviously my period probably through some lovely hormones in there! But like I said, all good now. I'm sorry you've also had a wobble. Big big hugs xxx

WildFlower2019 · 14/03/2019 12:56

Total bold fail in that last post 🙄

OP posts:
Robbo93 · 14/03/2019 13:03

@WildFlower2019 I'm the same. I'm overweight too being a size 18-20 but I'm more big busted and wide hips than big stomach if you know what I mean lol.

I've been doing ovulation sticks every morning and they keep coming back with only 1 line (not even the faintest 2nd line) but when I've wiped today the mucus has been clear and a little bit stringy so I don't know what to think?!?!

With it being a certain day today that I'm sure the husband will want to take part in, I'm sure BD will be happening but I don't want to do it too early and then miss my window by a few days ... how are there so many unplanned pregnancies? This FW stuff is soo hard :(

Michellebops · 14/03/2019 13:06

@WildFlower2019 I totally understand.

Do you watch emmerdale? That pissed me off (yep a tv program) I was upset that chas is pregnant again without seemingly trying 🤷‍♀️

My due date was April and I would have been 35 weeks and going off on maternity this week or next week. That was my wobble.

Harry and Meghan announced their baby news the day before my scan which resulted in the mmc so I want to give 2 fingers to them too.

I'm on cd 5 of cycle 4 and desperate for it to happen before my due date or i don't know how I'll cope ❤️
