Fingers crossed for you russkispy.

I had a dream last night that I was going for IVF, not planning on it quite yet but I know time is on the rapid decline. Panic is setting in

Annie078 · 04/04/2019 09:49

Just catching up ladies.
🤞🏻 For you @russkispy, please keep us all posted.
Similarly to you @cleozeta I’ve been having extremely vivid dreams this past week, everything from babies to having dinner with Andie McDowell last night!
The devil that is Af arrived last night so after a few hours of the inevitable “why do I even put myself through this every month” I’ve given myself a good shake and we’ll be back at it again this month.

KristieP2018 · 04/04/2019 10:07

Good thoughts for you @russkispy

turquoiseturtle · 04/04/2019 12:10

Hello ladies, could I join you?
I'm 41 (42 in June). I’ve been trying to conceive for 6 months, and have got pregnant twice but these ended in 2 early miscarriages (4.5 and 5.5 weeks). Now I’m trying to decide between continuing trying to conceive naturally, or going for IVF. I put a longer thread about this in the ‘Conception’ forum. Would welcome a hand-hold, whichever way I decide!

Chatbash72 · 04/04/2019 12:57

Welcome @turquoiseturtle you'll find a wealth of knowledge on ivf here from dome fab ladies.. not gone down the ivf route but lots of knowledge on that too..
@Cleozeta weird dreams here too.. preg related..
@Russkispy keep us posted and good luck for the tests xxx

Rose68 · 04/04/2019 13:41

Welcome @turquoiseturtle!

I am having an issue with dreams, I regularly wake up not long after going to sleep in a total panic because I think I have forgotten to take something. A couple of times I have even found myself in my cupboard going through all my supplements trying to work out what it is that I should have taken. 😩

Cleozeta · 04/04/2019 14:08

Rose - it's because we take too much crap and put too much emphasis on it! I know this, but still do it.....

mellongoose · 04/04/2019 15:23

Jumping fail last night @Chatbash72 🤦‍♀️. Must try harder!

Chatbash72 · 04/04/2019 16:15

@Cleozeta mine is just hormonal

rubyroot · 04/04/2019 22:03

@Hellenbackagen

The healthy, happy down syndrome kids and adults you see are the ones that make it and then the lucky ones who have no severe health issues. Truth is many don't (either die in utero, shortly after or as discussed on this thread at a young age :'() and many have severe health issues. Please don't beat yourself up Helen, I know it's hard for you and I am so sorry for what you are going through. I think you may know that I opted for TFMR for same reason.

Hellenbackagen · 04/04/2019 22:17

ruby thank you . It helps to be reminded sometimes 💐

Hi turquoise

Sooooo feels like af is on her way.. but of pink this morning, at least she is consistent and regular, new moon new intentions, new start to cycle.. only 7 months on co Enzyme q10 which is only 4 cycles with it properly in system as far as eggs are concerned, which is no time at all. We don't have a time limit just enjoying it. Have been under stress with hubs and own business which isn't fun. The last month mercury really has wreaked havoc, work is all changed but am out of a very stressful work based bullying situation ( from the mil !!! Of all bloody people) she is deffo out of my circle.. we are still in uncertain times but keeping the faith and hope..
gorgeous Tana R had a beautiful baby boy yesterday, Hilaria Baldwin is having early preg probs and the gorgeous Elle Wright ( featheringtheemptynest) on her blog has share her story post teddy passing re 2nd fertility problems and ivf story) she's early 30's.. so I'm not sure age is always the issue..
fingers crossed af stays away but if she doesn't we are away next week (fi gets crossed) so will shove as much soft cheese and mussels down my body and enjoy it.. sending lots of baby dust and love gorgeous ladies ⭐️💕⭐️💕⭐️💕⭐️💕⭐️💕⭐️💕

Hello ladies,

So I've just dipped in this thread as not quite 40 yet but will be in June. I've just had two back to back miscarriages and my GP has refused to do any hormone testing and send me away to try again for a few months. I'm a little concerned as I've also heard in some ccgs they won't do any fertility testing post 40.

I was just wondering how you've generally found support from the GP post 40? I'm not sure whether to go back and ask again before my birthday or trust that I'll get the help and support I need post 40.

The only known problem I have is a history of polycystic ovaries. The cysts are now gone and I'm ovulating but periods are 4-8 weeks apart and irregular. Doctor says I'll have it for life even without the cysts however wouldn't refer me to gynae or offer any other support. I've read PCOS can cause miscarriages so obviously a bit concerned.

@Chatbash72 I too saw Hilaria Baldwin and Elle Wright's posts. Such lovely brave ladies trying to demystify miscarriage. Elle Wright in particular has had awful luck and so much grief yet is so positive and determined to support others.

Thanks in advance ladies. Really appreciate any advice you have. Xx

Russkispy · 05/04/2019 12:06

Just been told our frozen embryo is defected, trisomy in 18, high risk of 98% confirmed by PGS test. Absolutely gutted as don't have a backup now.
And naturally concerned about the one inside me. Got our early scan on 16th and praying everything goes well. And all being well will book a Harmony test for when I'm 10 weeks. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Catconfusion · 05/04/2019 12:55

I'm so sorry @Russkispy and have everything crossed for your current pregnancy! Xx

Hobbes39 · 05/04/2019 13:47

@Russkispy - it may seem silly to you, but I think I would try to think of it as positively as you can - it's disappointing not to have a back up, but then again, hopefully that means that that embryo is your 'bad luck' one and the one in you is the 'good luck' one? I'm sorry if that sounds flippant, but I tried to see my last miscarriage (trisomy 16) as being my bad luck hopefully done - so helped me to think more positively about these ones being ok..? Good luck xx

Catconfusion · 05/04/2019 13:52

@Russkispy I completely agree with @Hobbes39 A friend of mine is an embryologist and she said conception is a bit like rolling a dice and every embryo is very unique. Every chance your current pregnancy is a healthy one. Xx

Russkispy · 05/04/2019 14:04

Thank you lovely ladies! My initial reaction was, OFFS, what now!! It was absolutely my decision to transfer this one and hope for the best and I hope and pray it's my lucky one! And the one we got tested, on doctor's recommendations, turned out to be a "bad" one. Perhaps there's something in that! Gut feeling! Positive that it will turn out ok in the end! Early scan can't come quick enough and then wait till 10 week for Harmony test and a week later to get results and only then will be my 12 weeks scan. I sailed through my 1st pregnancy with no worries in my bones! This one is true challenge so far but must remain calm, resilient and positive of all.

Karigan195 · 05/04/2019 14:15

Having been there very recently, waiting for nipt results and totally stressing out, you have my sympathy. There are very good chances it will all be fine though!

SparrowSG · 05/04/2019 14:28

@russkispy maybe worth a read of this? I have read a lot of for and against PGS testing in my internet trawling!!

PetraRabbit · 05/04/2019 14:30

Hello. I was posting quite often for a while a couple of months ago but got a bit disilllusioned with TTC. But I've been reading and caring about all of your highs and lows. In particular thinking of Booseys and all of the slightly older range of the group who won't give up and hoping for you every day. And Cleo- always so helpful. Ruskispy- I was pretty excited to read of your BFP and although you got bad news about the reserve embryo you still have your developing embryo on board. Hellen- you deserve another chance and you made a hard but thoughtful decision.
It's hard to keep up with everyone but I'm 43 (nearly 44) , I have a nearly 2 yo, and had a MMC last year, and finally got fertility check done. It was dire. Amh of 1.5 and one- literally one antral follicle! So as depressing as it gets. Oh and a shrunken hidden ovary. I was about to come on and ask a load of sad despondent questions about these very crap results before I saw a consultant about IVF (which it seemed would probably not even be an option with those numbers) when.....BFP!!! It's sad to be so fearing a repeat of the 10 week scan disaster with my MMC and it's hard to be hopeful at my age and that this now feels even more last chancey than a year ago, but....BUT this pregnancy feels strong so far with lots of CM and a warm feeling below so anything is possible. I don't want to jinx anything but I suppose it's just silly superstition. I'm desperate for this to work out! Hopefully it gives a bit of hope too. I was always hoping for BFPs on here especially for the 43+ age group.

Russkispy · 05/04/2019 14:51

@SparrowSG thank you for the link. Think I've read enough and will leave it now. This one is a healthy pregnancy. And that's how I shall continue with it. Can't worry about something that is out of my control.
@PetraRabbit absolutely fantastic news! Congratulations!

Catconfusion · 05/04/2019 15:12

Wow @SparrowSG and thanks for sharing. That article is fascinating!

Annie078 · 05/04/2019 15:13

Fantastic news @petrarabbit!

Catconfusion · 05/04/2019 15:17

Amazing news @PetraRabbit congratulations and I'm sorry for your previous loss.

Someone told me on another thread during my last pregnancy (unfortunately short lived) today you are pregnant, just keep focused on that as hard as it is after loss. Your signs sound great. Wishing you a healthy pregnancy! Xx
