Hi all

So dh came home early from trip so managed to dtd again today so I've now dtd on smiley day and 2 days after so I'm hoping that will cover the bases

I am feeling more positive than I have in ages

Went to see a psychic last week .. she said there is a baby there waiting to be born if we try to make it happen and I should just open my mind up to the universe and say please let me have my second baby.. ( in my head obviously!!) which made me feel better. Obviously prob a crock of shit but I think a bit of positive mindset helps

Good luck all

littlemimosa · 22/03/2019 20:56

Russ - got a good feeling about this....

Chat - I’m sure orgasm is good for all sorts of ailments!

Weasel - nice to see you. Are you using protection again? A safari sounds amazing!

Cleo - yes I do feel that way. It’s totally understandable after 2 years. You’ve done so much and nothing as such to show for it, you’re bound to lose enthusiasm. Many people would have lost it long before now. You’re persevering and will continue to do so as it means so much to you. All I can say is try to distract yourself a bit if you can. How many people fall pregnant whether busy doing other things?!

Cleozeta · 22/03/2019 21:22

Hmm - I love a psychic! Must go and see one myself. Did you tell them you were ttc or was the baby thing out of the blue?

Mimosa - trying to keep distracted by selling the house and looking for a new one!

BooseysMom · 23/03/2019 07:33

hmm123... lol re. crock of shite!! Glad you're feeling positive.Grin

Chat..lol re. orgasms!

Cleo..yes I agree re. palps a symptom of Peri. When I had tests 6 months ago I wasn't Peri and they said the palps were nothing to do with Peri.. they were wrong..something told me they were esp as they are at certain times in my cycle and I've read about caffeine and I know at certain times I'm super sensitive to it but not always.

Megan.. you wrote .. "i seemed to conceive only when drinking a bottle of wine + daily (it was Christmas) and eating shite" .
Ha ha! I've got to say that is exactly what I found with DS. After 2 mcs I had give up taking folic and when I was so lucky as I had low risk result! I was 40. Would be interested to see what it would be now at 47. I also had a glass of wine a day and chocolate, just not much. I did manage to keep a healthy bmi and exercised regularly. It's all slipped now though. Everything is slipping in fact...All in a downwards direction! Grin

littlemimosa · 23/03/2019 08:32

Booseys - I’m just doing some reading about reducing stress and balancing hormones and I keep coming across people saying that magnesium glycate and taurine are good supplements to take in peri especially for palpitations x

littlemimosa · 23/03/2019 08:34

Glycinate not glycate.

weasledee · 23/03/2019 08:54

Morning ladies, well it was hard enough doing the deed when we were trying, with having the DC Grin so to be honest we aren't doing it that much but when we do we're using the Ovia app in reverse...

Realitysucks · 23/03/2019 08:55

Hi Ladies, we’ll im feeling utterly depressed today!! So think it’s over. Massive AF cramps absolutely think I’m not even going to make it till Friday for test date as AF is gonna rear her head before then as she is due Wednesday. Have had two negative test so trigger is out. I just cannot see how it’s miraculously going to turn positive by Friday next week. I need a holiday and a break from all this Ivf shitiness! To be honest I just want to go get steaming drunk and have made DH promise of its negative Friday we are out drinking and he will have to carry me home 😬 not sure what to do now. Whether to go again as we have one cycle left or wait until after our holiday in July and try in August. That gives me time to lose the ivf weight ( I’ve put on about 6llbs from no running and all the stims etc) I just want to get back to running again 🙄 sorry rant over !

Russkispy · 23/03/2019 09:31

@Realitysucks sorry you're feeling this way. You're not over till it's over, I guess. I'm not a symptom spotter as never had any symptoms pre-AF and even when I got my first then second BFP. So I don't second guess anything. I'll just wait. OTD is Monday through blood test but I'll do HPT first. Today is CD31, I don't even n ow when AF due as last month it was late then it was BFP and then bleeding started 3 days later. So try not to think about anything till you know for sure and then decide what's next for you. Fingers crossed!

CowGurl · 23/03/2019 11:34

Hi everyone. Been awol this month – bit fed up of the whole TTC thing, plus hubby’s been away and looks like he’ll be travelling a lot over the next few months – stopped taking all vitamins and have been eating soft cheese and drinking wine! Ha!

I’ve missed loads so sorry if I skip anyone:

@Realitysucks – cramps don’t necessarily mean anything and some people are late to show a positive. Fingers and toes crossed for you!

@Hmm – I went to see a psychic many years ago and she was fab. I’m not a believer generally, but everything she said came true … you might have got a good one!

@Megan – Yeah, like your plan, I might have accidentally already started on it!

@Amelie – congrats!

@BooseysMom – I get nausea sometimes around ovulation, and just before AF. Also headaches. Think it’s due to fluctuating hormones. Regular cycles = anything is possible!

@Weasledee – That safari sounds amazing! You’ll all have a fabulous time. Winter sunshine as well!

AFM – This month, for the first time, I’ve had pinky CM after ovulation a few times and spotting (red blood) on CD 25. Think I’m going to have a very short cycle! No chance of BFP as only DTD on day 6 and I didn’t ovulate early. Have also had palpitations so think it’s probably peri / reduced progesterone levels. Arghh! But we can still get preggers in peri, can’t we!? Might just need some of those fun sounding pessaries!

Good luck to all xxx

Cleozeta · 23/03/2019 16:15

Good luck reality and russkispy!
Cowgurl - the pesseries are awsome, you should do it 🤣

About the pesseries, those in the know, will my period start on its own or not until I stop taking them?

On another note, I'm going to start clomid next cycle (I know, I'm a rebel) and was wondering what days best to take them? I'm after getting lots of eggs, and all at really good quality (and a flying sparkly unicorn?) What do you knowledgable people advise?

Hobbes39 · 23/03/2019 16:45

Haven't read the thread yet, so will catch up later, but just saw your question @Cleozeta...
It sadly IS possible for your period to come anyway when on progesterone.
I thought it wasn't, so actually had a shock when I started bleeding at the equivalent of 10dpo after my ivf round that completely failed.
For some people it can keep it at bay and you'll only start AF when you stop them, but for others like me, it didn't. I suspect (totally unscientifically!) that if low progesterone is your fertility issue, then it probably keeps it away, but if it's not, it won't? Who knows! I hope AF stays away for you tho! Xx

OP posts:
Realitysucks · 23/03/2019 16:47

@Cleozeta I don’t know as I’m thinking the same. Some say they delay it and others say it makes you bleed so who knows!

Cleozeta · 23/03/2019 17:50

My period normally comes at 10dpo so will be interesting to see what happens! If it does still come at 10dpo I'll be chucking the pesseries out the window

Rose68 · 23/03/2019 18:09

@Weasle that safari sounds amazing, soooo jealous!

@Cowgurl I am pretty sure it’s possible to get pregnant right up to menopause. x

@Cleo how many dpo are you now?

I am 4 dpo and I am having a complete meltdown because we are going skiing in 2 weeks, and it’s just occurred to me that I don’t want to be pregnant for skiing. I’m actually really shocked that I am feeling this way after my desperation of the last few months 😩

Cleozeta · 23/03/2019 18:28

Rose - currently 7dpo.
You know you will get a bfp now that it's massively inconvenient don't you?! 🤣

Rose68 · 23/03/2019 18:42

I know, I’m having a massive stress! 😭

Realitysucks · 23/03/2019 18:49

@Rose68 ha ha me too we are going on 13th April. The way i look at it is I’m a decent skier so just no off piste or snow park for me! Plus no jägers or gluhwein ! Gutted for the non drinking but would be worth it ‘

Rose68 · 23/03/2019 18:59

@Realitysucks I am a decent skier too. Do you think skiing whilst pregnant is okay? Trouble is I don’t want to pootle around on the blues, I want to charge down the mountain at maximum speed 😩

Rose68 · 23/03/2019 19:00

OMG what am I even saying, I’m not even bloody pregnant! 🤣😩

Realitysucks · 23/03/2019 20:08

@Rose68 it will be fine as it’s not even the size of a pea! Jus be extra cautious of everyone else ! Im still going to do reds but just easy reds and no blacks!

Cleozeta · 23/03/2019 21:04

Don't worry you can probably do both!

So this evening I feel like AF is coming. I'm going to be so annoyed if I've been shoving pesseries up my for nothing! And to be even earlier than usual too?

Realitysucks · 23/03/2019 22:02

@Cleozeta noooooo don’t think about it. Today Ive decided AF is not coming I’m willing her away ! I’m buying a house tomorrow and I’m a bit scared 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Russkispy · 23/03/2019 22:04

With my last IVF in December, I was taking progesterone pills, and the day before testing I was brown spitting and AF arrived a day later. With all my IUIs, I was also on those progesterone pills but when tested BFN, stopped the pills and AF arrived only then.
@Cleozeta my doc always told me to take Clomid cd5-cd9. And had a scan on cd10, and depending on size, had triggers either cd12 or cd13. I'd say start DTD from the day after AF every other day till about a week before your AF due just to cover it all. That way you can say, I did it all this cycle.

Cleozeta · 23/03/2019 22:28

Reality - thats a great distraction! I'm trying to do that too, but its so slow its not distracting enough yet!!

Russkispy - thanks for tips, so 5-9 sounds like a plan, thats good for quality I think? Definitely need that. Do we get more eggs those days?
