Yammers thread 10!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night
  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

Oooh @noseringgirl that's so exciting. Fx for a sticky bean xxx

dragonmummy17 · 17/09/2019 20:04

Hi everyone I've been having a bit of a break but back again now. I'm not really tracking but I think I'm about to ovulate either today or tomorrow. DH is waiting for his 2nd SA results to get our referral in again and then hopefully we can move forward. Work is also significantly less stressful so I'm hoping that has a positive impact

@NoseringGirl I really have my fingers crossed for a sticky one this time. Have you had your GP appointment yet?
@impatientmummy I hope it went well today

impatientmammy · 17/09/2019 22:30

Just got back I have everything crossed for you @NoseringGirl
So the clinic was lovely they're going to really try and work around my other half's work schedule as much as they but they don't like to manipulate a cycle too much as it can have a negative impact. I have high TSH levels which might have resulted in my chemical and made implantation unlikely but everything else seems healthy on my end x

MorgenMuffel · 17/09/2019 22:50

@impatientmammy so glad the clinic were lovely and they are going to be as flexible as they can. Did they say anything about how to lower your TSH?

@dragonmummy glad things are less stressful for you at the mo and hope referral etc doesn't take too long

impatientmammy · 18/09/2019 08:10

@MorgenMuffel there's a pill of something I get a result of how it is now by Friday and they're going to prescribe it for me if it's no better x

impatientmammy · 18/09/2019 15:04

Also any ladies with unexplained infertility I think high TSH levels might be the reason I'm not pregnant. They've gone up and have gone from high but within normal range but abnormal in the last year. My IVF clinic won't go through with transfer unless your 2.5 or under as the egg is unlikely to implant my level is now 6.5 and apparently it's very easily treated. I'm now unsure wether to treat this and attempt a natural cycle or continue with the clinic feeling very positive about the outcome x

NoseringGirl · 18/09/2019 20:32

Unfortunately it didn't stick and I'm having heavy bleeding and cramping now. I'm absolutely gutted. I just don't understand why this keeps happening. Only 2 days late this time.
I had my GP appointment a week ago but it was a different GP. She didn't want to retest my iron levels as she said the course of tablets would have fixed the issue. Just had my last tablet today and that's done now. She put the losses down to bad luck as I already have children so can carry pregnancies and while she was nice about it, said early losses were very common and I should try not to stress as that won't help. She said if it keeps happening she could refer me to gynaecology but doesn't think there's anything they could do. So I guess I just have to keep trying!

@impatientmammy sounds like a very positive appointment! Have they said whether they think you should try naturally once your TSH levels are within range or are they leaving it up to you? I'd be tempted to try it as it could save you going through IVF but also understand the feeling of just wanting to get on with it!

impatientmammy · 19/09/2019 14:35

@NoseringGirl I'm so sorry, I think she's being unfair to say it's common and not look into why something could have changed. I hope your doing ok I think we're gunna try natural a litle and see how it goes x

MorgenMuffel · 19/09/2019 18:36

@noseringgirl so sorry, big hugs x I agree with mammy and I know people who have had treatment for similar and gone on to have babies so perhaps try another gp when you're feeling up to it

@impatientmammy hope the medication and natural cycle works

My boobs are ridiculously sore and only 5dpo. They normally hurt a week before AF so thibk I'm having a short cycle

dragonmummy17 · 19/09/2019 20:27

@NoseringGirl sorry to hear this. I disagree with your GP though... early losses count as losses. I think Tommys have done a lot on this if you needed more info to go back to your GP

@impatientmammy glad your appointment went well

NoseringGirl · 19/09/2019 20:57

Thanks everyone! I definitely intend to go back to the other GP next time I go in. Going to give it another cycle and see what happens. I'll have a look for the Tommys info though.

@impatientmammy all the best for the natural cycle! I don't know a huge amount about it but have seen TSH mentioned on various TTC boards and get the impression getting it within range can make a big difference.

impatientmammy · 20/09/2019 10:48

Thanks everyone I think I've lost faith in my fertility now though. I feel pretty sure I'll be back at the fertility clinic at some point but I owe it to my other half to give this a go as he has found it hard to get his head around IVF x

impatientmammy · 20/09/2019 10:49

How you feeling today @NoseringGirl ? C

NoseringGirl · 20/09/2019 18:43

@impatientmammy better than yesterday, cramps are less painful and I've been out and had a really lovely day. Thanks for asking!
I completely understand losing faith in your fertility. It's hard to believe that it can happen after so much disappointment but I hope your body proves you wrong!

impatientmammy · 22/09/2019 19:58

How you all doing ladies?

AF due tomorow. OH has been away this cycle but I'm still not looking forward to it even though I know I'm now pregnant 🤔 I've also got a gp appointment regarding TSH. X

Lilzpk · 22/09/2019 21:27

Hi ladies, I've been awol for a bit. Really needed a break after last cycle, I was pregnant but unfortunately it wasn't to be. We were both heartbroken. Not tracking this cycle, it doesn't really matter as we're dtd regularly anyway. Gp said we can go ahead and keep trying as normal.

I hope you're all doing ok, and staying hopeful. X

impatientmammy · 22/09/2019 21:47

Awww @Lilzpk I'm so sorry. I hope your as ok as you can be x

NoseringGirl · 22/09/2019 22:11

@Lilzpk I'm sorry, it's so heartbreaking. Hope you're doing as well as you can be.

@impatientmammy good luck with the GP appointment and I hope AF isn't too bad!

CD5 here and my clearblue app is telling me to start testing on CD7. I used 11 days of tests before my peak last time. I have 9 sticks left and will probably need more than that so just looking at spending a small fortune (can't just buy more sticks, need a whole new test kit)
I see how these sticks trap people now Grin

impatientmammy · 23/09/2019 00:06

@NoseringGirl you can get just sticks on eBay "used" but obviously the lucky bugger got pregnant and didn't need them. I'm down to 4. I think if you just use them when you think you'll ovulate there's no baseline so it doesn't work. Is that correct? X

NoseringGirl · 23/09/2019 00:41

@impatientmammy funny you should say that, I just bought some 'used' ones off eBay! Yes it needs to be started that early to get the baseline. Think I'll switch to the single hormone ones after this cycle!

impatientmammy · 23/09/2019 10:50

A pregnant women, new mum with a baby and an infertile women sat in the drs surgery. Sounds like a really shit joke 🤦🏻‍♀️ x

impatientmammy · 23/09/2019 11:02

Did you get a good price @NoseringGirl ? X

NoseringGirl · 23/09/2019 11:12

@impatientmammy doesn't sound like a fun waiting room experience, how did the appointment go?
I got 5 sticks for just over £8 so it should be enough to get me through this cycle hopefully!

impatientmammy · 23/09/2019 17:20

GP won't consider prescribing anything until TSH goes over 10 with the aim to get it back under 10 so they want a letter from the clinic to tell them dosage and everything. Makes me a bit angry to think that had I not gone for IVF something that might be causing my infertility might go untreated because as my gp said it's "very specialist and they don't have strong enough knowledge in the area" 😕 x
