Yammers thread 10!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night
  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

@Clumsykitten I second what @NoseringGirl said about writing things down.

On my fourth to last day of oestrogen/progesterone tablets and the spotting has turned into what I guess is full on withdrawal bleeding. I haven’t had bleeding this heavy since I was a teenager before going on the Pill!

Have freaked myself out a bit reading about Asherman’s Syndrome as I had to have a D&C after delivering my little boy as my placenta was retained.

One week till I go back to work. 11 days until I see the fertility specialist. (Best thing I could get for Valentine’s Day is a treatment cycle!)

JustLikeTheySaid · 02/02/2019 08:53

Hi everyone. Hope you're all okay. This is such a supportive group.

Chlamydia results still weren't back as of 5pm yesterday so I will have to wait until Monday. The other results were though - as far as I can tell from googling they seem okay:
FSH 4
LH 6
Testosterone 0.5
TSH 2.6

I'm a bit confused because there isn't an oestrogen or progesterone test result in those... I wish now I had taken a photo of the letter to remember which bloods were taken. I will give it a few more days and then ask for a full print out when they are all back. The receptionist tried telling me they were all back and I was like, they're DEFINITELY not and she didn't believe me until I made her check the original forms Hmm just don't need the aggro when you're already stressed!

Spottyyellowdress · 02/02/2019 09:01

Hi - could I join too? Recognise a few names from the last time I was on the conception boards and being back on there is disheartening!

I’m 30, ttc#1, cycle 18 - had a hsg which showed a blocked left tube and everything about DH’s sperm is very low.

Just got a positive opk today on cd 17 so somethings messed with my cycle this month and already not holding out much hope!

Owlpatrol · 02/02/2019 18:54

Hi yammers is everyone having a good weekend? I feel totally un pregnant again this month however still no real cramps so wondering if I ovulated this month!? Fp due Tuesday, may test again Monday!? Currently craving a McDonalds which is weird for me!

OP posts:
Owlpatrol · 02/02/2019 18:57

Welcome @Spottyyellowdress how did you find out about the blocked tube? I am thinking of pushing for these tests next!

@BGDino if you don't mind me asking how has your boss been?

@JustLikeTheySaid sounds promising, hooe you're taking the weekend to chill out

OP posts:
NoseringGirl · 02/02/2019 21:44

@Owlpatrol I always find the cramps go on for longer when I've not ovulated. I'm not sure why though? Hope your FP stays away for all the right reasons!

@JustLikeTheySaid sorry you didn't get all the results yet. Hopefully the rest will be ready on Monday. I always get a full print out as well, it's handy to keep a record.

Hello @Spottyyellowdress have you just had the hsg? I've heard some people say the procedure helps clear things. Have you got a plan in place for treatment or are they just getting you to continue on your own for a while?

strawberrye · 02/02/2019 22:29

@Clumsykitten hi to you too! Not been as active on the yammers thread but I find it comforting to know I have somewhere to just rant and it not be turned into a message about positive mental attitude. That makes me sound like such a grump lol, but sometimes you just need to rant and be angry and for that to be ok.

@JustLikeTheySaid definitely worth asking for a print out so you have something to refer back to. Good luck for Monday.

@Owlpatrol hoping the MacDonalds craving is a positive sign!

Ladies I'm feeling quite down and bitter tonight. Pretty much every couple we know is either pregnant or just had a baby. Two of my due dates have now been and gone, and it's now over a year since my first miscarriage. I feel like I'm getting nowhere with this, and not being able to actively TTC (due to thyroid being massively abnormal), whilst is a nice break, I think is also contributing to my feelings of being trapped in an unending circle of disappointment.

Spottyyellowdress · 02/02/2019 23:02

@noseringgirl @owlpatrol Hello! Yep, just had a hsg last week - went for initial tests, mine seemed fine but DH had very low everything sperm-wise so we were referred very quickly.

Had a chemical pregnancy last month again before the hsg then found I had a blocked tube so it’s been a very difficult few months.

Kitcatclock · 02/02/2019 23:16

Hi Yammers,
I have to admit to being a total thread stalker for the last 2 threads! Reading all your TTC experiences has been such a comfort, and makes me feel so much more normal when the pity party cry rants happen at my very patient husband! So I thought I’d be brave and actually join in! I’m 33, Me and DH (33 too) have been TTC for 13 months now. In that time it feels like every woman I have ever met has birthed a human, including some very close friends who barely tried before being upduffed-whilst I’m just very good at peeing on sticks and getting my period! I’m due blood tests (first 4 days of cycle) this week and have to book my Hycosy on Monday as just got another FP Confused. I promise to swear like a trooper and overshare like a true yammer if you’ll have me! Grin

impatientmammy · 03/02/2019 01:26

Welcom @Kitcatclock glad you decided to join us sounds like you'll got right in. I think we started trying around the same time my four best friends have birthed beautiful little humans in that time also so I feel your pain.
@Spottyyellowdress hope your ok. Sorry to here about your chemical I got my positive OPK on CD16 in December and got a BFP (unfortunately it didn't stick hence still here) so don't count yourself out.
Sending love @strawberrye do you have any idea how long before you can start ttc again?
@JustLikeTheySaid glad the your results have came back ok so far 🤞 for the rest. How you feeling about things now?
Got everything crossed for you @Owlpatrol Do you often have longer cycles? I'm really sorry I'm sure I ask you the same questions every month 😂
Still feeling queezy here. Not sure what's wrong with me I've been pretty emotional. I think after my chemical I focussed all my energy on the fact I'd get pregnant last cycle (idiot 😂🤦🏻‍♀️) now it's all hit me I'm wondering if the sickness could be emotional or stress induced. Just feel like it's taunting me I feel more pregnant now than when I was actually pregnant. Anyway I'm here and trying to keep up just an emotional reck this week. Sorry if I missed anyone there I'm on a night shift thank you all though xx

BGDino · 03/02/2019 05:39

@Owlpatrol he's still being super supportive. I don't think I would've been able to keep my job without him.

Hello @Spottyyellowdress, @strawberrye, @Kitcatclock and welcome! If I didn't have this thread to rant on I don't know what I'd do! It's so comforting to know that there's a place where I can go to say how I really feel without any filters and know that the other people there understand what I'm going through.

@Kitcatclock know what you mean there were two other girls at my old work who were 6 and 12 weeks ahead of me, it's devastating to think that they're having their babies while I lost mine. I left Facebook and unfollowed their IG because it's just too painful. My little boy should still be growing in my belly, not in a ceramic urn on my dresser.

Currently spending my time indoors with the aircon, also the withdrawal bleeding (at least, I think it's withdrawal bleeding) is a bit nuts. There are towels on the bed and couch because I might bleed through my clothes Blush I'm telling myself it's good to get the lining out in preparation for our first treatment cycle whenever it happens. And meanwhile, I'm eating soft cheese in hopeful preparation for a time when I can't.

impatientmammy · 03/02/2019 06:09

@BGDino how long have you been bleeding that heavily for. There's guidelines on how quickly you should be filling pads. I tried to google but I'm to tired to decifer anything and wouldn't want to give you incorrect info. If your worried though follow it up. I hope you doing ok. X

Owlpatrol · 03/02/2019 06:54

Ok @Spottyyellowdress fx and keep us posted hope you feel better soon xx

@Kitcatclock welcome, lovely to have some new faces here!

That's really good @BGDino pleased your boss is being supportive.

Woke up super early this morning after going to bee late think I've had about 6 hours sleep, woke up sweaty and crampy Sad

inquisitivebadger · 03/02/2019 07:09

So sorry to hear about your past @JustLikeTheySaid. I've got everything crossed for you for the results tomorrow - I'm sure they'll be fine.
@strawberrye It must be so hard to have had to stop ttc and just be waiting. Any idea when you'll be able to try again? Does your thyroid issue make you feel unwell?
@BGDino hope you're ok. The bleeding you're having sounds awful. I agree with @impatientmammy - if it carries on like this then maybe you should talk to a doctor?
Welcome fellow newbies! @kitkatclock, I know what you mean about everyone else being pregnant! I left Facebook a while ago but can't avoid all the pregnant women at work!
I've been ovulation testing for 8 days now and haven't had any positive result. My cycle varies between 24 and 29 days so I started testing on day 7. Really worried now. I had a blood test about 4 months ago that showed I ovulated but I also did temping a while ago and I never seemed to ovulate then either. I asked the doctor at our last consultant appointment if they would test to see if I ovulate again and she said no but what if that was a one off freak month and I don't usually ovulate?! Seems ridiculous that our next appointment is about IVF when I have question marks over whether I even ovulate?! What should I do?
Hope you're all having a good weekend. I've got some sort of flu so feeling very sorry for myself!

NoseringGirl · 03/02/2019 10:30

@Spottyyellowdress sorry about the chemical. It hit me really hard when I had one last year. Sounds like it's been a difficult time for you. Hope things improve for you soon!

@BGDino I hope that bleeding slows down for you soon. Hope you're getting plenty of rest!

@inquisitivebadger I don't trust OPKs, I can never seem to get a decent positive even when I ovulate. Temping isn't always accurate so I would still trust the blood test over either of those. Having said that, I would push for another cycle of being monitored for ovulation before you go into IVF if you're not confident that you're ovulating on your own. Hope your flu goes away soon!

CD5 here and the bleeding has stopped, just spotting yesterday. I've noticed my last couple of periods have been shorter. Worried my lining is too thin. Nothing has been right about my cycles since that chemical. Just want my body to get back to normal.

cupcakesandglitter · 03/02/2019 10:44

@Owlpatrol glad you went to the interview!!

Hi @SuziQ10 @Clumsykitten @Spottyyellowdress @Kitcatclock

@BGDino hope the app with the specialist goes well x

@impatientmammy when are you testing? X

@inquisitivebadger @NoseringGirl another one with not great OPKs or temping - I had a temp drop this month when I had an almost positive OPK, but my temps after ov went back to coverline 🤷🏻‍♀️

CD34 for me and my pre-AF spotting has started, so this is it for me. I've spoken to DH and I think I'm going to focus on losing weight/sorting the house and maybe apply for a new job. I'm not going to temp, track what day I am or anything - I don't think it's going to happen for me anytime soon so I'd rather not make it worse for myself 🤷🏻‍♀️

Spottyyellowdress · 03/02/2019 10:50

Wow this is such a welcoming and supportive place! Thanks everyone.

@justliketheysaid I totally echo your completely irrational chlamydia fears - worked myself into absolute hysteria even though like you, there was no reason to think I’d have it. Ordered online tests which even when they came back clear I didn’t believe! Turns out I don’t have chlamydia. So now my irrational fear is that I’ve had PID in the past and one of the many UTIs I’ve had in the past was misdiagnosed and that’s why I have a blocked tube.

TTC is shit!

Owlpatrol · 03/02/2019 11:02

I'm super grumpy today and irrational, fp is definately on it's way! Sad I'll keep you posted about the job interview, if I get it it would mean holding off ttc for 6 months till probation passed, it'd be worth it for better money and better mat pay. Gives us some time off and dp can get his testing done and we can see next steps so I am positive about that. Plus I'd be out of my current very stressful job

OP posts:
BGDino · 03/02/2019 11:34

@NoseringGirl @inquisitivebadger @impatientmammy I'm not dizzy or faint or soaking pads every hour so I figure I'll just ride it out. I'm guessing 28 days of oestrogen tablets has built up my lining something crazy.

@Spottyyellowdress I agree wholeheartedly that TTC sucks balls. Big, hairy, sweaty ones.

On a completely unrelated note, super excited to find dairy-free Magnum ice creams in the supermarket today! Of everything that lactose intolerance makes me miss out on, ice cream is the one I miss the most!

impatientmammy · 03/02/2019 15:26

Ah @BGDino I'm pleased you know the guidelines. How you feeling today?
@cupcakesandglitter I'm on CD5 so I'm def not pregnant just stressed and emotional I think.
@Owlpatrol make sure you check they're maternity pay conditions in your contract my 1st was a surprise but his due date was annoyingly 1 week out from me getting mat pay 🙈🙄 let us know if AF does arrive x

impatientmammy · 03/02/2019 15:31

@inquisitivebadger sorry I missed your post I'm having this cycle off ttc I've just finished night shifts then I'm gunna start slimming world again I think a health kick and something to focus on should sort me out x

Owlpatrol · 03/02/2019 17:34

I know that makes me a bit nervous @impatientmammy however I work in HR and you get stat mat pay if you're working for the company on week one, as you have to be in employment when you get pregnant. But may not be entitled to any additional maternity benefits if within probation period

OP posts:
impatientmammy · 03/02/2019 23:27

Yes @Owlpatrol that's what happened to me I received statutory maternity pay which was fine. I worked for the NHS though and they're maternity pay is actually really good so it was a bit gutting. Just remember that the measuring scans can be slightly out and leave a bit of leaway to play it safe x

Owlpatrol · 04/02/2019 06:12

@impatientmammy Smile I reckon my fp is coming woke up again in the night with sore boobs and cramps. I was going to test this morning but I feel it's coming so let's see next few days

OP posts:
impatientmammy · 04/02/2019 07:48

@Owlpatrol how you feeling ? I know you have plans but that moment when you realise it didn't work is always hard. Keep us updated though cause you never know x
