  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

@cupcakesandglitter hope your scan went well!

I've been a bit quiet recently as it's been a weird cycle. I think I've possibly ovulated but have had spotting at strange points, before and around the time of ovulation and two days in a row a couple of days ago. I put the weird cycle down to being the one after a chemical pregnancy. I'm CD38 now and possibly around 6-8DPO. I stupidly started testing after the spotting even though it's far too early. I had what I thought was a faint line this morning so tested again this afternoon on a different test (cheap Wilkos one). A decent line appeared after a minute or so. I was really excited but it faded to almost nothing after a few mins. No idea what's going on. I hate that I never know what my body is doing!
Feeling quite sick as well but that's probably just the iron tablets.
Sorry to come back with a big self centred whinge. Hope every is doing okay!

dragonmummy17 · 09/08/2019 22:21

@NoseringGirl don't the cheap ones fade sometimes... I think a line is a line! Do you have any frer?

cupcakesandglitter · 09/08/2019 22:24

@NoseringGirl all looking okay thankyou, confirmed I ovulated late but have a viability scan soon to check whether it's working atm or not 😩 get yourself a FRER!!! Have you stopped spotting? That's what happened to me, spotting stopped when AF should've started but it never showed up. Test with a FRER xx

NoseringGirl · 10/08/2019 22:08

@cupcakesandglitter good luck with the viability scan, hope you don't have long to wait!

My temp dropped again this morning and after no spotting yesterday, had a little today but it stopped again. I tested this morning and the line is still super faint. I saved my FRER for tomorrow but will wait and see what my temp is doing.

cupcakesandglitter · 10/08/2019 22:43

@NoseringGirl thankyou ❤️ fingers crossed for you for tomorrow - a faint line is a line too!!!! Eeeeek keep me posted please!!! Xx

Lilzpk · 11/08/2019 10:26

@NoseringGirl, thinking of you this morning,
Smile

NoseringGirl · 11/08/2019 11:55

Thanks both!
FRER had a faint line as well. I'd be more excited if my temp hadn't dropped right down to the coverline this morning. Just going to have to wait and see I guess!

cupcakesandglitter · 11/08/2019 12:20

@NoseringGirl fx your temp shoots back up XX

dragonmummy17 · 11/08/2019 22:34

@NoseringGirl hope you get some positive news tomorrow
@cupcakesandglitter good luck for the scan

I'm due AF on Weds. Heavy spotting as normal for me at this stage. Am going to town tomorrow so will probably pick up a frer but not feeling positive

impatientmammy · 12/08/2019 08:17

I hope your doing ok @NoseringGirl 🤞 I think I'm ovulating whilst other half is away again here x

NoseringGirl · 12/08/2019 08:26

@impatientmammy that's rubbish timing! How long is he away for?

Test was a bit darker this morning which was nice to see! My temp has dropped so low, I should probably stop looking at it now but it's really worrying me!

NoseringGirl · 12/08/2019 08:27

@dragonmummy17 good luck with the FRER!

dragonmummy17 · 12/08/2019 15:37

@impatientmammy that's frustrating. Is he away for the whole time?
@NoseringGirl that's good to hear about the line. Hope it keeps getting darker.
AF arrived this morning making this a stupid short 20 day cycle. I'm feeling pretty angry today

impatientmammy · 12/08/2019 17:38

He was meant to be here for it this time but I've learnt to check my cervix and it's been high and open for 4 days now with EWCM for the past two hes home Wednesday so hopefully it'll hold out a bit longer 🤞
Awww @NoseringGirl I'm glad that lines getting darker there must be other things that can affect your temp x

goldflakepaint · 12/08/2019 20:09

Hi all. It's been a while but I have caught up on the thread now. Congrats to @cupcakesandglitter and fx for you @NoseringGirl

I've been taking a break whilst dp had his repeat sperm test- the result has held so still 2% morphology but slightly higher count. GP has referred us to fertility clinic although a quick bit of research on our CCG indicated that we are unlikely to be seen until we have been trying for two years as our issue is 'mild'. So we're in limbo, basically. Having been told that there is an issue, we will likely have to wait until March of next year until we are even referred.

I have accepted it now and understand the rationale of not rushing into IVF. We're still trying every month but I'm being 'defensively pessimistic' about it. I can't keep going through the hope/despair cycle that I have done for more than a year. I just have a feeling it will be IVF for us. It does give us longer to save for private rounds if we need it- CCG only funds one NHS round here.

AF arrived today so chocolate tonight, I think. I have recently been offered a job which is a great opportunity for me and also recently brought a snazzy new bike so silver linings and all that. Looking forward to catching up with you guys again.

goldflakepaint · 12/08/2019 20:15

@dragonmummy17 I think we're ttc twins. Af at the same time, I've also had a 20 day cycle recently, both at referral to clinic stage and (I think) trying for about the same amount of time. I'm just wondering if its worth checking CCG fertility treatment guidelines in your area as it might be that your referral was rejected because of amount of time spent ttc? Although that also does depend on your test results. Either way, I hope you get clarity from your GP on it soon. I feel your pain about af starting today, be good to yourself x

cupcakesandglitter · 13/08/2019 11:06

Thanks @goldflakepaint xx

Any progression @NoseringGirl? X

dragonmummy17 · 13/08/2019 13:26

Hi @goldflakepaint yes I think we are ttc buddies although we are ttc dc2. Sorry you still find yourself here and for AF arriving. Do you normally have short cycles? Mine are 21 or 22 days normally so I could really do without making them any shorter! Our referral was sent back because DH needs to redo his SA which he will do on Friday then we will resend it and see what happens. 2 years for you is a long time though. I'm hoping that because I'm 37 they might see us quite quickly.
@cupcakesandglitter I hope all is going ok with you.

I finally got access to my blood results online yesterday. My progesterone from the day '21' tests was good (35.5) but the day 3 tests were FSH 12.9 and LH 5.5 which I don't think is as good? It's hard to find information and all I got from GP was a text to say all is fine!

NoseringGirl · 13/08/2019 18:16

@dragonmummy17 I remember from my blood tests that LH and FSH are meant to be roughly equal. My GP had said my results were fine but when I looked my LH was almost triple my FSH. I'd been referred to the gynaecologist then anyway (over 3 years ago now!) but he agreed when I asked about it and said it should be roughly the same. In my case it was due to PCOS.

My line this morning was faint and barely there. Just waiting for bleeding now and it looks like my third chemical. Absolutely gutted. I knew those temps dropping was a bad sign. Don't know why my body is suddenly struggling to hold onto pregnancies after having two babies. I've always struggled to get pregnant but this is the first time I've had losses.

impatientmammy · 13/08/2019 18:47

Awwww @NoseringGirl I am soo sorry 😩 will they test to find out why with you having 3 now? X

dragonmummy17 · 13/08/2019 19:10

@NoseringGirl I am so so sorry. Hope you are taking care of yourself tonight. Are you still under a consultant to discuss the losses?

NoseringGirl · 13/08/2019 22:06

Thanks both x
No consultant at the moment, I've been seeing my GP. She's been lovely but I'm not sure what else she'll do? I think I need to give the iron tablets a chance to work and see if that makes a difference?

cupcakesandglitter · 14/08/2019 08:16

Oh @NoseringGirl I'm so sorry 😞 I'd give the GP a call, can't they refer you to the recurrent mc clinic? Or at least try some tests - maybe if they were to monitor your hormones etc with your cycle they could get some answers? Sorry it's not too helpful just hope you're okay xx

impatientmammy · 14/08/2019 14:49

Does anyone here check their cervix? I've never been able to tell if it's open until this month when I've finally found the opening further around the cervix than I had realised. I have two questions for yous anyway. Does the opening being there mean I have a tilted cervix and will my cervix always be open (I had a c section 3.5 years ago)? Thank you if anyone has any answers x

NoseringGirl · 14/08/2019 20:51

@impatientmammy I check mine and I have a tilted uterus. I couldn't even find/reach my cervix until after I had DS1. He obviously did some rearranging Grin The opening of mine is tilted away slightly. I find it's always a little open now but I've had two vaginal births so maybe that's why? I can still feel a difference between when it's properly open and when it's not.

@cupcakesandglitter I think I probably should go back to the GP again. I guess I just feel a bit weird asking for help again when I've already got two children and had so much help to have them?

I'm still waiting for the bleeding to start. The last two chemicals the bleeding has started before the tests faded but it's been the other way round this time. AF was due today and I've had back pain and cramping but not even any spotting. I really don't like this limbo.
