Yammers thread 10!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night
  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

Thinking of you @owlpatrol

@SuziQ10 I'm the type of person who would test and then be upset...

7 days until my appointment (not that I'm counting Grin)

Today was a bit of a write off, woke up at 7am for our fire inspection, fell asleep at 10am while reading the paper in bed (I should know by now not to do that!!!) and when I woke up it was 2 in the afternoon!!! I'm going to blame the progesterone withdrawal Wink

@clumsykitten It can be hard to stand up for yourself in the health care system - I find it hard and I work in it!

Have got to stop reading the Daily Mail - every time I open it there's more celebrity fertile @#$%ers announcing their latest pregnancy Angry TBH reading about the Duchess of Sussex is worst because I was due around the time she is.

At least being summer here in Australia there are plenty of roses for me to buy to keep next to my little boy's ashes Flowers

Thanks for your messages @impatientmammy @BGDino @Clumsykitten. The good news is that my thyroid is now back in range so I can hop aboard the TTC train again! The not so good news was that my recurrent miscarriage appointment was not very helpful and left me feeling quite frustrated and upset. I think we will be looking at asking for a referral to a Tommy's centre and trying in the meantime, desperately hoping that now the thyroid is good that we will have some luck for a change.

@BGDino totally with you on the tabloids and the irritation at Meghan. She just looks so bloody smug in all the bump photos! I think I may be biased and still not impressed at their baby announcement on Baby and Pregnancy Loss Awareness Day, certainly has made me view the Sussexs in a new light. Kate was always my favourite anyway!

@Owlpatrol sorry to hear FP got you, but I'll be keeping my fingers crossed you get the news that you got the job really soon Smile

Cycle 8

bunhead34 · 07/02/2019 20:48

I'm having some fertility checks - scan and blood tests.
I had the scan today and was told that everything looks totally normal and that I'm very fertile as I've ovulated from both ovaries this month 🤷🏼‍♀️
Having 21day bloods next week, then DH will go for sperm tests after that.

Feeling quite meh, a friend at work started ttc the same time as me and she is now 8months along with a lovely big bump!

Going to visit another friends newborn tomorrow so will be putting on my brave face!

@strawberrye fab news about the thyroid levels but sorry the recurrent miscarriage clinic weren't much help. It's definitely not the sort of appointment that should leave you feeling worse than when you went in!

Hello to the new people!

I'm sharing the frustration of bumps everywhere. I've got a client at work who is due the same time as I would've been. I'm finding that quite difficult.

todaywasafairytale · 07/02/2019 22:12

Welcome @xxcheshiremumxx, it's so frustrating this TTC rubbish isn't it?!

todaywasafairytale · 07/02/2019 22:14

@NoseringGirl logically my head tells me it's because I'm noticing pregnancy around me more, but my head screams that it's the world testing me 🙈

BGDino · 08/02/2019 13:39

Hi and welcome to the newbies!

@strawberrye I was super unimpressed when they reported that Meghan told the Royal family on the day of Princess Eugenie's wedding - like seriously she could have picked any day, and that's the one you choose? Someone else's wedding day?! Also it seems like Kate was much less "look at me, I'm pregnant" with all 3 of her children. Yay for your thyroid being back to normal range, I totally understand what you mean by unhelpful appointments - my first appointment with my obstetrician 6 weeks after losing my son I learned nothing new and it was so incredibly depressing and upsetting. There's never anything wrong with a second opinion.

@Owlpatrol have still got everything crossed for you.

@bunhead34 - can I average out with you, I don't ovulate at all! (Thank goodness for ovulation induction!)

@xxcheshiremumxx you're much better than me in giving up caffeine!

@Clumsykitten we will probably just acknowledge the day quietly between the two of us, my husband is sitting the biggest and most important (and most difficult!) exams of his career 3 weeks after (so yes had our little Alex lived our timing would have been insanely bad!)

I have an appointment with my new endocrinologist on Monday and my obstetrician wants me to talk to her about gestational diabetes and how it can be managed in another pregnancy. He mentioned possibly treating me as diabetic from the start and not waiting for the screening test at 16 weeks. DH brought up the fact that the endocrinologist might put me on a diabetic diet now before we conceive... so I'm spending the weekend eating all the things that I wouldn't be allowed when pregnant and on a diabetic diet...!

5 days until my fertility specialist appointment!

Also can report the crazy bleeding has reduced to normal bleeding, thank goodness.

Chooklass · 08/02/2019 13:51

Hey ladies,

I'm still here. Just been keeping my head down for a while and trying to avoid the internet more!

Finally got my progesterone supplements so will be starting those next cycle. I feel kinda sick when I look at them, because I've built it up in my head as the solution to all my ttc problems and if they don't work then its only IVF next. We're coming up to 2 years ttc with no bfps.

I ended up investing in an ava bracelet last month so have been tracking my cycle that way for the first time. Kinda fun - I love data! It's defo been a good distraction this cycle. Still going to acupuncture too. Not sure how long I'll stick at it - it's really relaxing but quite expensive, and hasn't got me pregnant!

Briefly joined a fb group for ava bangles and promptly left as my news feed was suddenly full of 'omg I'm pregnant first month using ava, can't believe it as we'd been trying 4 whole months before that'. Piss off!!!

Gradually catching up with thread - welcome to the new Yammers x

xxcheshiremumxx · 08/02/2019 16:04

@BGDino oooo it was a struggle at first I work shifts so coffee was life! However we're 7 months of decaf in now & ive even managed to cut my sugar from 2 tea spoons a drink to zero!! Might not have benefited me on the pregnant side but 100% will have in another way!!

NoseringGirl · 08/02/2019 16:32

@Chooklass hello from a fellow Ava user! I've had mine a year now and still love all the data. Much better than just temping.
The Facebook group can be frustrating as people aren't meant to post pregnancy announcements but clearly some don't think the rules apply to them. The admins are pretty good at removing them but I understand the annoyance about them!

SuziQ10 · 08/02/2019 20:55

Another bfn over here. Gd luck to everyone else this month x

Owlpatrol · 09/02/2019 08:20

@Broodyaf welcome, I hit the two year mark in November and it was very hard. Flowers bloody trying everything!

@BGDino have you looked into keto diet my mum has type 2 and basically it's been amazing for her. Yes carb free is really hard but she got used to it quickly. Plus when I did it I lost 10 pounds thinking of trying it again.

@Chooklass nice to hear from you, I'm thinking of a internet detox tbh! I've heard mixed reviews of Ava. It's so annoying people say oh I got pregnant first month, no love it wasn't the bracket that physically got you pregnant, doing the f'ing deed got you pregnant 😂

No news here on the job front but they said I should hear Monday! I blooming Hope I get it my current work place is so stressful and not helping ttc. Would be more money and better mat pay when I get pregnant so all round better!! Eeek

What's everones plans this weekend? Weather is shite up here in north Yorkshire so planning a cosy weekend in, bit of cleaning and being a slob in leggings, pjs and repeat

Sorry to hear @SuziQ10 Flowers

I have the delight of a baby shower this week! Yaaay Grin

BGDino · 09/02/2019 08:30

DH is on overtime so today I’ve watched The Lego Movie 2 (would recommend), had a massage, gone swimming (hurrah! bleeding’s stopped!), bought an inappropriate amount of booze to keep in the house considering we’re TTC and now I’m eating pizza for dinner and will open some of said booze when I get home!

NoseringGirl · 09/02/2019 15:14

@SuziQ10 sorry for the bfn Thanks

@Owlpatrol weather is shite up here too (Newcastle) and our exciting plan to rent a thermal camera to find out why our house leaks so much heat has been cancelled because the company sent the wrong type of camera. Think I'll just stay warm in front of the fire.

impatientmammy · 09/02/2019 18:02

Ahhh @NoseringGirl I'm south Tyneside.

Good luck at the baby shower @Owlpatrol I'm not sure I could think of anything worse right now 🙈

Sounds like your doing a bit better @BGDino not long now 🤞

So all my friends had babies this year which was hard during their pregnancies but once they were born I got my baby fill once a week which I found really helped. Well the youngest one is weaning now and I need my own quick cause I need baby cuddles x

Pinkemi · 09/02/2019 19:00

Hey guys! Just popping in to say hi..

I was using the Ava Bracelet for a while but now im not really getting any benefit from it.. so was thinking of selling it. Just in case any of you are interested in it. 😊

NoseringGirl · 09/02/2019 19:04

@impatientmammy just over the river! I love living here. I lived down south for a while but so happy to come home.

strawberrye · 09/02/2019 19:53

@NoseringGirl @impatientmammy we should have a Tyneside meet up! I am in the north east too.
